I’ve had a really positive experience here! They cam definitely be picky but over the three times I’ve sold here I’ve made some decent money and I’ve also bought some great pieces (including one very nice designer piece) for great prices. They pay much better than second street but accept fewer items, and the prices are much higher. My only issue is the staff can be a bit curt sometimes and the lines can get long. I also find myself waiting a long time to sell here. But if the online system was refined a bit I think it’s a great experience.
Good selection of clothing, but the selling process was so poorly organized. We used the app to sign up as they recommended. We waited 45 minutes at the store despite signing up 30 minutes earlier. They took many people ahead of us even though our number was before them. They said they called our name. Clearly not as we sat here for 45 minutes. No text was received even though that is part of their system.Never again.....
Literally theres only 6 minutes left until the store closes and this lady helped me find a pair of boots decide on decide on them and check me out before it was all said and done pretty good place
The hand sanitizer bottle by the door was full when we walked in on a Sunday afternoon.. so that was good. Kinda crowded.
I sold some clothing on July 4th. It was a nice experience and a good way to get away from the fireworks (I live in Antioch). The only downside was forgetting to put my ID in my wallet afterwards. To my pleasant surprise the staff put it away safely and when I came in the following week I was able to sell more stuff and found a cute top in trade. Thank you again, Crossroads for your honesty and excellent customer treatment.
This particular store doesnt have as much of the higher end merchandise I have seen at other stores. But, they are well organized and the staff us helpful. It is also close to the Downtown Berkeley BART station.
Super awesome customer service! MUCH BETTER than the Rockridge Crossroads where they barely give you the time of day -- Shattuck staff were friendly, happy to help, and seemed much more chill under pressure at a busy location. Ill be going out of my way from Oakland to go to this location instead. Thanks Shattuck Crossroads Team!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS STORE.BEEN SHOPPING AND TRADING FOR YEARSSSSSS HERE.BUT......there was a musty, old, stench smell on the day I went.AND...The line was ridiculously long with only 1 cashier open.
Long lines, want sure where the lines started or ended.staff looked liked customers standing around.stairing at me following behind me fixing nothing.i realize im pretty but im not a thief.there shirts arent practical they dont even cover your stomach.moody judgemental staff.not very good clothes
Only shop at this Crossroads if youre a UC Berkeley Student. They stock the clothes specifically for them and its otherwise a waste of time.
Big selection! Really pricey for thrift... quality stuff, but dont expect Goodwill prices.
Selling at this location will take up your whole afternoon. I waited 2hrs and currently still waiting when there were only 6 people in front of me when I signed in.
Going on an 1.5 hour wait to sell items under staffed or employees are poorly organized anyones guess just be prepared to wait
I recently visited Berkeley and on the way out I stopped at Crossroads. It was nice that hand sanitizer was offered at the door and that safety precautions were in effect. I was able to find a couple of great items and was helped by the cashier efficiency. Im really glad that I came across the shop!
Really you need to read a review. Rude staff.Went back a few weeks later, same rude employees. Not one change in interaction. Must be a corporate hiring profile.
Crossroads -More like NewRoads cause thats what youll be making after you leave with your purchases. Absolutely great apparel for your hard earned dollars at discount prices youve been searching for. And did I mention brand named? Just a few minutes into the store I knew Id be coming back for more. Excellent location, awesome prices, and the staff if exceptionally helpful. Thank you Crossroads for doing it right. 5☆
Great clothes! Found an amazing faux fur jacket. Unfortunately can’t try anything on there during these covid times, but they do accept returns for 10 days after purchase.
The girls tried to steal from me and lied about what they took beware
Good selection and friendly staff!
Couple weeks ago I brought in a total of 4 bags. I had my mom come in so we can get to sell everything. We came back 2 days later and they said they didn’t buy anything from either bags. I don’t get it, 4 bags and nothing. Most of my clothes were from Forever 21, fashion nova, Marshall’s, old navy. I don’t know if they just ripped me off or what. I’m kinda sad I put to donate because I would’ve taken them somewhere else.
Seriously the best second hand clothes store in the Bay Area! The clothes look so new and of great quality you’d never know anything was used. Also they give great prices to you on most things you bring in to sell them. All of the Staff are very helpful, kind and very attentive. Thanks guys for being Super Awesome!!
DO NOT SELL CLOTHES HERE!!!I sold some pretty expensive items and got almost nothing for them. The clothes that they have are ok for the price. But do not waste your time selling here! You’ve been warned..Only good thing: employees are very nice.
The clothes that I sold were easily worth more than 70$ worth of retail value . They paid me back only 5$. I want to know if you can get your clothes returned after they give you money, or are the clothes already sold.
Terrific place to drop in for finds.Four stars as super picky on items that should be no brainier for this store
Not many guy clothes....
I have one at home in DC but this one had items we don’t have of course so I got a lot of good deals. Great quality clothing and stylish for low prices. And some of the items were half off!
I wanted to test it out so i took only 4 items pin strip pants in great condition, from 3xpress and a really nice black velvet skirt with lace expensive looking a pink hoodie long sleeve shirt with tags still never worn. And they said that it was all donated that it was nothing they wanted now i did sign if they didnt want some items they can donate. So im thinking thats exactly what the told me and probably sent them to one of there other locations, i am so glad i only took a couple of items before I took my supper expensive stuff there, I will sell them my self insted.
The clothes are are little staid and boring and whiskey unremarkable. They are nice but nothing more, and to top it off pretty expensive. On the flip side when you sell clothes you get a pretty good deal. I would also be remiss not to admit that they usually have a really good selection of shoes, hats, and bags.
I love Thrift/second hand shopping. This store, in particular, have more of the name brands vs certain styles. Ive been in other thrifts in this city that carry more of a specific type of style (vintage, skater, hippie) and not so much of name brands (Tommy, Polo/Lauren, Banana, Free People, 7, etc) fyi Im into all styles. It makes me wonder if they possibly pay more when selling your clothes?? All types of cool shoes, pretty well organized too. Theres dressing rooms, purses, jewellery, nice coats, other accessories. Prices are pretty fair at least I think so, most items are in very good condition.
What a great another great place of good and quality of clothing they had here. Designs and sizes were great and has a lot of selections as well. Great prices and has a awesome staff and well organized staff.
Staff is always very friendly and helpful. This is by far my fave Bay Area Crossroads location. 👗♻️🛍🤩💝
It’s been a while since visiting this Crossroads. I’ll be back again soon, hopefully with friends. Not only was the clothing en pointe but everyone who worked there was kind, considerate and helpful.Lost my phone while I was there and the cashier, sales associates and manager worked together to help me find it.I also got to sell a few clothes which took the edge off all the new ones I bought. Definitely a great shopping experience.
I love shopping here because you never know what you might find. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Cool selection, Im a long time shopper but just passed on a pair of shoes, pants, and a shirt while at the register because the shoes that I built my outfit purchase on which Id found on the Half Off shelf werent discounted. Apparently due to it being a previous customers fault for moving merchandise around the store. Im good, Ill go be a cheap frugal bargain shopper somewhere else.
Pretty good fun finds!
A great little thrift/resale shop in Berkeley. Everything is reasonably priced, in good condition, well-sorted, and generally just easy to go through which is a blessing for a shop like this one.
Take your time and look around. Never know what good deals you may find. This place is definitely a good source for high quality new & used clothing at a fraction of their original retail prices.
Great selection of used clothing & accessories. Love their sale section. This location is spacious & theres more variety in dresses & shoes. As for my selling experience-it can be a hit or miss depending on the buyer. As expected, theyre selective & lean towards brand name designer items.
This is a place where you can sell old clothes. But they only want named brand things Anastasia and Buffalo Exchange is better with the latter offering 30% cash and %50 trade.
Good selection. Almost always walk out with something. I like their half-price selection. Good location to downtown Berkeley BART. Would be a five star if theyre mens selection area was a little more.
Great Prices
Staff is kinda rude
They will be picky about what to buy from you but if youre shopping there I believe its a decent priced store. Good thing is this one is near a goodwill and other places where you can drop off your clothes that dont get bought.there is parking out front (usually all gone) you can park (meter parking) almost everywhere. Meters take card so change is not a must.silver coins only
Never chose “donate if will not fit” when you will bring them some of your fancy clothes, they will take everything for free only.
Found a pair of some Tims at the cross roads boots at a fair price
Came two days in a row...second trip was with my daughters; after going to two other shops in the area. We scored big time with AF1s for $16 and some change, along with a Cardi B shirt, all name brands for less than $90. They do have a Chanel lambskin bag for $1800 😇Some items had tags on them which shows originally prices-- a dress normally for $399 that was for $24. Highly recommended!
Great little thrift store, with a decent collection at affordable prices. One of the best places to shop in Berkeley.
Be ready to meet the weirdest person to ever work behind a counter.
Just found a Berberry mens polo in meticulous condition! The Price at Bloomingdales was $175 at the crossroads I paid only 37$ ! Even better I sold some shoes in perfect shape I got two years ago ( didnt get lots $ ) but it covered my new polo :) .............. Spent 0 now someone will find my shoes and it will make their day. If you put in the effort to visit you will win big . Kind and amazing sales staff who care .
After waiting an hour or more to sell your clothes to them, 35% of store value feels pretty low. And theyre super picky about what theyll take. I wish they had a donation station or some way to automatically donate to charity whatever clothes they dont accept. Selling to them is usually a waste of time. Better to just give it straight to Goodwill.
Friendly staff and lots of budget friendly prices.
Good prices for gently used (and sometimes new) clothing
Matthew the buyer is the best! Hes so knowledgeable and professional!
Always great workers and nice
Ive never been met with such superior customer service, low prices and great product before. If it seems like I sound like an infomercial, thats only because Ive been mesmerized by how incredible this place is and have turned into a consignment-store-shopping-zombie.Give me your braaaaaiiiiinnnnnsssssss... But only if theyre 70% off and lightly used.
Bad customer service
Sold my clothes here a couple of weeks ago. They gave me a good amount of cash.
Great place for a treasure hunt; nice clothing and accessories for all occasions
Always a fun mix of stuff. I go here often and usually find some interesting things.
They have a lot of good deals.
They took everything I had thank u it wasnt like I was expecting to get much from all my stuff buh it was a success 😁👌
Great selection and a great place to sell if you have gently used designer clothing.
Friendly, helpful staff and good prices as expected.

Asked to put a romper on hold because it hadnt been priced, went to pick it up the next day. Despite calling ten minutes prior to my visit to ensure that my romper was ready to be picked up, the staff lost my romper and some of the girls behaved like I was being nuisance for persistently asking for help finding it. The explanation I got in the end was sometimes we lose things. Overall, they were pretty unprofessional and rude and I dont think Ill be going back any time soon.
One of my favorite thrift shops here. Less variety and more expensive than Buffalo exchange, but theyll tend to carry nicer brands.
I Love ❤ this store and the Employees Treated me like a Valued Guest and with Respect :) :).😄😃
Ok place but for your trade in dont give you the best cashout
Depending on what you have for sale and if they take it to buy from you you know you can really make some money and also find a good pair of shoes I love it
Great shoes and clothing for resale. Need nicer employees
Great customer service and great place to buy gently used clothes. Very organized also more expensive than goodwill etc. I think you pay for how organized it is and how pleasant it is to browse.
This place is just like half price book store in Berkeley. Staff seems to be racist, rude and racial profiling, cheap offers and overall staff is terrible !!
Good selection of used clothing, clean, well organized. A little pricey, but good quality.
Great place to find almost any kind clothing:)
Friendly staff. Clean. Organized.
Shop and sell clothes here often. Great selection
Great selection but dont try to sell here. Theyre really picky and want a very limited number of brands
Huge store with great selection of gently used clothes.
Their was a young lady who was black.. No im not racist im black to i just forgot her name she was dark skin . Beautiful lady but very rude . She took in the clothes that i was selling she was very rude and her attitude rubbed me the wrong way but luckily i just went to buffalo exchange way more friendly and alot more nicer .
Buy on trend fashion and offer decent prices, then sell the fashionable items at reasonable prices.
Dont go expecting a good will or salvation army, it is a step up both in selection and price. Well worth it though.
Thrift store with classic yet trendy clothes for the young professional.
Always a great selection and great prices...
Nice place to shop and trade!
Really organized/streamlined buying process, decent selection, decent prices
Dont waste your time selling here!! I went in with a bin full of designer womens clothing and was helped which felt more like (stared at) by the rudest, anti-social store clerk probably EVER. Which I remember her name as (Kiara). A lighter skinned, heavy-set young lady with an unwelcoming demeanor. To start-off, good customer service always greets with a smile. Anywho, when I came in I stated my business and was directed to a kiosk to sign-in. This didnt take long maybe about two minutes tops. However, I was the only person in line and the same girl (Kiara) who JUST told me to sign-in, looks and me and still ask if its my name? Moving on she had me place the items on the counter and instead of saying, Ill place the items here for keeps or goes. She just starts refolding stuff in a pile as Im handing things over. Like, okay, do you want it or no? after going through at least 40 items she picked 4 pieces. A print dress, jean jacket, and two pair of designer boots barely worn. Which I had to show ID to get an offer of $25? LOL, they would have gotten that just off the jacket. I ask why more of the heavier fall/winter clothes werent selected and she points to a graphic list of items of interest. Which were clearly fall/winter ware, which I had. I pointed out a few pieces that matched the list and got a whole bunch of yeah/but answers. For example: if a sweater dress has a bit of lint its a NO? WOW. I suggest just selling online and make deals for yourself.
Pretty overpriced for second-hand clothing, However you can find some really nice stuff so its still worth the visit.
Traded in some of my clothes here and the service was very nice.
Boring and overpriced selection, you can get anything you could get here at mars or buffalo for $5-$20 less. Dont waste time trying to sell here either because they will reject factory distressed clothing or even normal stuff with the smallest thread out of place. Tbh just go down the street to Mars Mercantile or Buffalo Exchange
Staff is nice. Prices are meh but sale rack can be a good find.
Good quality, good prices! Lets keep recycling our clothes in this way!!!
Sometimes get good staff cheaper prices
Best kept secret for ladies shopping. My go-to for clothing in Berkeley.
Never had bad experience saling clothes and you can find quality used clothes
So many great brands. New and used clothing, jackets, shoes, purses & bags.
Always find fabulous things there.
Kinda high priced for second hand clothes in my opinion
Theres some good finds here.
