Front desk lady was extremely rude and condescending, (wrinkley old woman, white hair)talking to me like I have a mental disability after I questioned her about how much it really weighed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE!! She attempted to low-ball me on a 14k Gold chain worth 200, by offering 100 and lying about how much it weighed in ounces. What a fat waste of time. They need to learn how to be respectful to their customers. 0/10 Trash Company. They act like theyre so educated and qualified in this field so you wont question them once they low-ball you..

I have known the owner here from working working with her in a different situation. I have for decades seen her as an honest and nice person. She has always been great to me. And I did buy some coins there too:)

I cannot recommend this store for sales of coins or metals. At present the silver value of a Morgan dollar is $20.20. I was offered $12 for common date coins and they assume all are common date. On the phone today they quoted $10-$15 depending on date. This is a terrible rate. The employees are great except for one surly individual who seems to be in charge and lied to me about past practices of the store. You can do better than this.

My 7 year old son and I went in to the store today and had a great time! The ladies were all so friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back! I also love that it has been family owned for so many years!

Dont sell your gold here... pawn shops will even pay you more.

I have dealt with 3 employees here. Each one as kind as the next. The selection is awesome, the customer service is awesome, the prices are awesome and the shop is fun. What a pleasant experience! I came in after the 4:00 cutoff for ordering silver bullion but was able to put money down for the next day. They locked me into a great price first thing in the morning and I was able to stop by after 4:00 (due to work schedule) and finalize the order. The shipment came in faster than promised and was just as ordered. Staff is friendly and the shop is nice. Ill be back when the time comes to invest again!

Ive been a customer of Mountain High Coins for nearly 20 years and am always amazed at the selection and great prices of jewelry there. The only reason anyone would buy somewhere else and pay full retail is because they dont know about this place. The jewelry is inspected and made to look brand new and I know I can trust that I get what I paid for. They even did a beautiful job of wrapping a piece I bought as a gift.When I see negative reviews Im reminded that people are more prone to complain than to compliment. This business is run by honest, moral and knowledgeable people.

We had a collection of old jewelry and miscellaneous pieces. Being novices, we were apprehensive about selling the pieces and receiving a fair price. We were treated most courteously and the person who helped us was careful to make recommendations for where we might be able to sell the other pieces that Mountain High was not purchasing. All in all, we were pleased to have chosen Mountain High.

Brought in a 18k gold necklace to sell. Was told that it was gold plated and then given low ball offer. Took it to a jeweler who verified it was in fact solid 18k then sold it to a local pawn shop for a fair price.Please beware when you buy or sell jewelery at this place.

I was in this store yesterday to buy silver and have a collection valued. I was a bit nervous after reading other reviews here, bit they must have been at other places. The staff were helpful, kind and knew what they were talking about. I will most definitely be going back and referring friends.

I liked these guys. And thats why I bought from them. But when the market changed a bit, they got caught in a lie to me about what they get charged above spot. Sorry guys, you could have made a lot more money from a regular customer if you hadnt lied about why you raised your prices. Now I buy from a broker in Chicago at $0.60 above spot. I like to buy local even if it costs a bit more. Lie to me, and Ill take the better deal in a heart beat.

Respectful business. I purchased some silver when it was 12 per oz, and then sold it back at 25 per oz. They bought it, and if I stuck to the silver as an investment it would be worth more. It is 16 per oz now and would have been 35+ per oz in the near future.

My wife went in woth our solid gold fountain pen to get it appraised. Right off the bat the women (never got her name, she has red hair) yanks the pen from my wifes hand and tells her its gold plated (mind you it states solid gold on every piece of the pen and have had it tested by PROFESSIONALS not whoever this was) my wife had to push for her to even test it while the lady was extremely rude to her. After testing the pen (which we have already had certified as 14k gold) she came back handed it back to my wife and said it wasnt for them. Horrible customer treatment and trying to lie to customers. Unprofessional and would never suggest them. There are other coin shops in tiwn who buy gold and silver, go to them.

I have had the misfortune of dealing with Rod, the owner and his wife on numerous occasions. Mountain High Coins is the only coin shop in Bend, and their less than professional demeanor reflects the fact that they know this. On more than one occasion I have been told one thing over the phone (if they answer that is) and something completely different in person. Last year my wife presented Rod with a gold coin, only to be told it was gold plated. Of course he still wanted to buy it, mind you, at one quarter the price I was quoted on the phone. Why would Rod even offer to buy a gold plated Krugerrand for far more than any gold plated copper coin is worth.....because he was trying to take advantage of an innocent woman. Ladies, avoid this business like you would avoid a dark New York alley; you would be far better off going to a local pawn broker.

Very disappointed. Misleading add, than after much wrangling they finally agreed to honor the add and send me the coins shown in the add than they never did!

Slow moving dim-witted staff argue among themselves in front of customers and usually have to ask someone on the telephone for prices. Do yourself a favor and buy from dealers in the Portland area who have a much better selection and much lower premiums.

I buy between 40 - 60 oz of American Silver Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs a month. Since I travel quite a bit for work, I deal with coin shops all over the country. This place has by far been the worst. I live in Bend, but only bought about 60oz from them. I always ask for a sell back price when I buy and was told spot price. Apparently not so. I went in today to sell some Maples and ASEs and was told $1.50 UNDER SPOT!. Most reputable coin shops at least pay spot or up to $2.00 above spot for ASEs. I will never deal with these guys again.
