I went to see Dennis with the recommendation of a friend of my wife. I had an issue that I’ve been trying to deal back and forth with insurance. I took it to a shop in Northwest Austin and little work was done and their labor/parts prices were high. Brought my pontoon barge in for repair, was bogging down when running at 4,000rpm.Dennis turned it around a couple days prior to his commitment date & told me to let him know if it was not 100% right.When we took it out after, it was not 100% right. Dennis took the time to go with me to the lake the following day to see what was wrong. After lake testing, we took it back to his shop and it was fixed in only a couple days.I took it out after that and it runs perfect. Dennis runs a great business. He performed a carburetor tune, fixed a trailer ground wiring issue, and had his team perform a boat detail. All turned out great! The turnaround time was impressive, not to mention being early June when his business inherently gets really busy. One of the biggest areas of proof he truly runs a great business is when he met me at the lake to complete the carburetor tuning on the water. This not only ensured the boat runs well, but also showed his willingness to ensure the services were complete. I’ll be recommending his services to fellow boat owners.

We brought our boat toInterstate marine after It had been serviced for the past two years by a mechanic that we thought to be reliable. Unfortunately, after spending almost $900, come to find out, he did a poor job with diagnosing why our boat wasn’t running properly .I decided to take it to Dennis and he was able to get it running as good as new for less money than I had previously spent.I also upgraded the stereo w new tower speakers, control unit, remote controller and amp...which sounds awesome.Also did some work in my old trailer.Provides good communication and will not do any work unless he has called, discussed and gotten approval for the work.Highly recommend and worthy of the 5 star rating they have received across the board.

Dennis is extremely professional and is good at what he does. I took my boat in a week and a half ago and he had 6-7 boats ahead of mine and still got it back in good timing. I had some carb issues, he talked me through what he was going to be doing and explained how it worked and common stuff that happens and how to avoid it for future reference! If you’re interested in maintaining your own outboard he will gladly give you pointers as well. 10/10 would recommend to bring your boat here. If you’re scared about finding a boat mechanic I will say this. Coming here isn’t something you should be worried about the pricing is good and customer service is great!! I’ll never go anywhere else for repairs.

Took my boat to Dennis as I was having issues with my motor that I just couldn’t figure out. I had him rebuild my carbs while it was there because they needed to be done. After finishing my carbs he found my issue and got it fixed. With a turnaround time of less than a week! I will definitely be bringing it back for some more upgrades and future issues

Called Dennis at 9:15am. I told him my problem with my power lift. He said to bring it in. I arrived at 9:45 am and Dennis looked it over and said the switch was bad. He replaced it immediately, he had one in stock that was identical . I was on the lake at 11am. He also replaced a trailer light and greased the power lift. Great service. Very personable and honest.I had previously taken my boat in to have work done. I was happy about the work, paid for it and left. Dennis called the next day and said I was accidentally charged twice for something and he owed me $40.00.

I cannot Say enough good things about this shop. I took my older 2000 pontoon boat to him. From the time I pulled up, he was friendly, personable and an all around great guy. He looked over my boat and gave me a quote before I left So I knew About what to expect to pay. He explained everything and showed me why it was important. If you are looking for a dependable, fair and honest boat mechanic then Dennis is your guy!!! We took our boat to him back in May when Covid really hit and he did a fantastic job dealing with the B.S. with the insurance company and making sure I got my lower unit replaced. They allowed me to have a great investment on my boat. It was a project that didnt work when I bought it but they were able to get it up and running for me and at a lower cost than the original quote they told me. Interstate Marine and Outboard is the only place I will take my ancient boat. Not a lot of boat places in Bell County work on 30 year old boats. I had some preliminary research/estimate work done with him on a newly purchased used boat experiencing some heart-aching problems. The last thing I wanted was a big bill or some sentiments like yeah, i can fix it by replacing this, this and this for $hundreds or thousands of dollars. He gave me a straight estimate, only had to wait a few minutes, and gave me reasonable, candid options. Low cost too. Hes got a good demeanor about him; keep the friendly customer-focus!!

I called Dennis and described my problem to him - my starter motor wouldnt crank at all, nor would my trim motor budge an inch. He said to bring it in. When I arrived Dennis stopped what he was doing and diagnosed the problem in less than 30 minutes - the main engine fuse was blown. Fortunately, my boats motor came with a spare so I was on the road again in less than 30 minutes.When I went to pay him my credit card wouldnt go through (it had expired and I hadnt received a new one). Most people would have chewed me out but Dennis said that I could mail him a check. Instead, I agree to pay him with cash in person two days later (and I did). He is a man of good character and is very personable.

I took my 2001 pontoon that had been sitting up for 8 years to these guys and they did a awesome job! They rebuilt the carbs, did a lower unit service, cleaned the gas tank and a bunch of other repairs and service work to my 125 mercury outboard motor. They completed the work around the time they said they would. I will for sure be bringing my boats back to them and I live 1hr 30 min away. They have earned my trust for sure !

As I was looking to purchase a boat, I search for mechanics and came across Dennis. When I first spoke with him, he was very knowledgeable. I was asking general questions and he had no problem answering them. He made me comfortable with having him do my work. I read all the reviews and called Dennis to speak with him about doing some service work on my boat. First of all he is very personable and will openly discuss the type of work and and troubleshooting he will do if you ask a question which is what i like. He will also be frank with you and not hide the truth. There are not many boat repairmen that will talk to you about repairs. For me the boat that i have will be in the family for a long time so its imperative that I learn about some of these repairs as I go and he was willing to help with that. To me you cannot find that type of honesty much anymore around here. Dennis is sharp and knows his boats. I would highly recommend giving him a shot if you need any type of work done.

It was difficult to find a good outboard mechanic that was honest and reasonably priced. I took my 1993 25 hp outboard into Dennis to be fixed due to a fuel problem. Two other mechanics had worked on it with absolutely no luck, although they were willing to charge me!Dennis found the problem and has it running great. I truly value honesty and integrity in a person, which is getting harder to find in the service industry. I will always bring my marine equipment to Georgetown Marine & Outboard to be repaired and would highly recommend them to anyone.

One of the best things about moving from Austin to Georgetown is the personal treatment and TLC provided by businesses such as Georgetown Marine and Outboard Service. Owner Dennis Cochran has his own shop on his own property and did a great job replacing the steering cable on our vintage Boston Whaler. He fixed the depth finder, greased the bearing buddies and did other necessary maintenance at no extra charge. Dennis is knowledgeable and professional. No doubt we will be coming back to Georgetown Marine and Outboard as long as we own a boat.

So after being told from numerous boat shops that it will be 2-3 weeks before they could even look at my boat for $120 an hour. I called more places and found this guy, Dennis. Let me tell you this guy is heaven sent. Professionalism, 5 stars, Knowledge 5 stars, Pricing also 5 stars.
