For an older Mercedes diyer, Mercedessourse is an answer to prayer. Kent has put together the most helpful easy to use website and source for parts and directions. I have had my 1981 240D for 3 1/2 years and have been able to do all the work required by myself with the help of Mercedessource.
MercedesSource has been an awesome resource for videos and parts. The parts available are high quality and you can tell that they were chosen because of their quality/durability. Kent shows great attention to detail in the videos and sets classic Mercedes owners up for success (at least in every video that Ive watched thus far). After watching a few videos, I wanted to buy parts from a local retailer but found out that the distribution office was actually in town. Ive had great personal encounters with their staff with will-call pickups and they even let me borrow a tote to return. My cat is also a big fan of MercedesSoruce.
I bought a glow plug kit for my 300SD and turns out that i dont need according to my mechanic. I reached out to them to get a return authorization via the website contact email. The reply was a standard acknowledgement email indicating that they will contact me. No email from them. I left two messages on the voice mail. No return calls. I am frustrated. SO I AM NOT GOING TO PURCHASE ANYTHING IN THE FUTURE due to POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Liars.I feel bad for anyone who owns the Mercedes in the Bellingham Washington area.Window polishing kit does not work at all I have 25 years of restoring vehicles. THIS product does NOT work AS KITTED.FYI, The way the kit is sold is completely wrong. There is no need to use a high- RPM oscillating tool such as the Chicago Electric piece that is included with this kit. That is totally ineffective and not a good idea when you have anything more than a finger nail size area to do. To do it correctly you should do the tooling as follows you should use a 3/8 Drive variable speed drill and a heavy duty felt pad for hard surfaces along with cerium oxide. That is the magic orange powder that he includes in the kits available for 10 bucks on Amazon. The felt pads cost 5$ at home depot.Dont give this guy $90.
A few years ago I stumbled across some MercedesSource videos on YouTube. After watching a few, I quickly fell in love with the videos and the cars. A few years later I finally bought the Mercedes I always wanted, and needed a few parts that only mercedessource sells. Due to Covid their international shipping was shut down, but all it took me was a quick email, they responded quickly and got me all sorted out. Amazing service, and hours of priceless knowledge shared for free on Youtube is why these guys are the best!
Ive bought a number of items over the years for my diesels and 250C - the parts are great and affordable along with the technical advice offered. Customer Service is outstanding!
Kent is the #1 Mercedes Guy in WA. I also had issues with a defective part in one of my order of 722.6 Conductor Plate rebuilt kit and the replacement was effortless. Great service! Thank you
I have been able to learn a ton about how to maintain and work on my 1982 Mercedes 240D. All of the YouTube videos are extremely instructional and Kent puts things in such a way that everyone can understand. I have also ordered the custom made valve adjustment wrenches from MercedesSource and they are awesome. Super high quality! After I go my wrenches I ran into some additional issues on my car regarding a valve guide on my #1 cylinder. Kent and Kaia have been very gracious and helpful about responding to my emails and questions in an extremely timely manner.Bottom line: If you own an older Mercedes you need to check these guys out, they will help you get your classic sorted out for sure!
Ordered the O-Ring Seal Kit for the W124 D and it worked like a charm. Kents instructions were very clear, concise, and though it was a tougher job, was completely in a timely and helpful manner. Great job!
Knowledge of Mercedes vehicles is unmatched as well as videos and how-tos included for free with select genuine parts. Spent a considerable amount of money and will continue to do so with their great service!
Kent is the most mercantile person Ive ever known. He is the definition of greedy. Cheers!
Thieves. They sold me off the shelf hardware store items as OEM Mercedes products. The kicker is it was at 4x what I could have sourced them for elsewhere.I paid them $58 (which included $21 shipping) when I could have purchased the identical products from AMAZON for $21 with free shipping.Lesson learned I guess. Trust no one!
Mercedes Source is a great source of excellent parts for the DIY. My Mercedes Source website and Youtube videos have kept my Mercedes 240d running strong as my everyday driver. Just got back from a 600 mile round trip to the Santa Barbara area in California.
They offer great advice and the parts you need to take care of your older Mercedes!
If you choose to go here make sure you ask for Gerson. Dont let Kent get within 10 feet of your car, not because he is a bad mechanic (He is the best) But because he is not as cool as Gerson.
One of the best source of informations and solutions to maintain your old Mercedes Benz by yourself. Check their site and YouTube page !
I dont think any one deal with kent and his business will give him one star or two or even 4 stars thats doesnt do him any justicehe deserve 5 stars no question, 5 stars for general kent bergsma
Great products and all the DIY information needed for working on older mercedes vehicles.
I highly recommend this business to anyone.
Absolutely the best in every regard, hands down.
After asking a very simple question as to whether Mercedes diagnostics could identify a defective conductor plate and receiving a mildly evasive answer, I ordered the 1996 to 2006 722.6 Transmission Conductor Plate Repair Kit w/ Video Instructions as one last Hail Mary before scrapping my 2001 E430. As it turns out, my mechanic was correct, I do need a transmission and now I have wasted $229 with these folks!
Very nice videos ..
