Truck windshield repair, September 8, 2021. First of all, the technician was very good. The problem occurred when he arrived and realized there was a visor on top of the windshield (attached to the roof) that had to be removed. I had forgotten about it. I agreed that it would cost more to do the job than they quoted.However, the tech said that the shop manager told him it would be $100 extra for the original $314 job to replace the windshield. Now the cost is $414. About 6 bolts to be removed. They claimed an extra hour. I told the tech it seems excessive and it should not be more than about 20 - 30 minutes. The tech, said he has no say in the matter and it was the Shop Manager.They had me away from work, at home, in my driveway and it was highly inconvenient for me to come back another day from work. So, I authorized it, even though I felt I was being gouged.I timed them and the whole job including removing the visor and replacing took 1 hour and 45 minutes. From 2:30 pm to 4:14 pm. The visor removal and replacement took less than 30 minutes.I am upset because this charge was excessive and the Shop Manager seemed to pull the number out of the air. Sure, they may claim we routinely charge $100 for visor removal. No, it was a number someone pulled without being there.Based on this experience, I will not recommend Martin Glass Company and make sure my friends and family and network of people do not use this vendor. I am willing to pay a fair price and help local business, but I dont like to be held hostage or gouged. Sure, they said I can remove the visor and they will come back the next day. The problem is that I now need to take more time off. The $100 is not the issue, but being taken advantage of is the issue. I live in the area and have a wide network and all of them will avoid Martin Glass because of this experience, my one and only experience with this company. I suppose the pandemic and labor shortage gives them leverage to do this. So much for supporting local business.Interestingly, someone called later saying why did you pay $414 when the job was quoted at $314 and I told her that it was because of the visor, and understandable, but $100 seemed excessive. I asked her to reduce it and she came back and said it was the Shop Manager and nothing can be done.

I tried to post all five stars but it continued on with one, I think. This is the review I want to post... Definitely a five star company. I watched their work because I was interested in how a windshield replacement was done. Proffessional, courteous, and time efficient. I couldnt be more pleased!

I want to give a huge shout out to a local company in the metro area. Martin Glass has a long reputation of excellence and I got to experience that firsthand this week. A huge thank you to a longtime friend Jennifer who is part of the family at Martin. I have a relatively new 2020 Honda Ridgeline pick up truck. It comes with all of the modern bells and whistle‘s including a camera system in the windshield itself. I have no idea how to explain the technology associated with that but in order to fix a crack in the windshield, it was going to cost over $1300. Part of the repair was something called a calibration so that if I get too close to the vehicle in front of me, the camera senses that and tells my car to slow down even if I don’t want to. I thought to myself yesterday when I dropped it off in the evening that they may need a couple of days to get it done even though they assured me it would be done today when I brought their courtesy rental vehicle back to pick up my truck after work. Well, and I still don’t know how it’s possible, they actually called my home phone before 9 o’clock this morning to tell me that my truck was ready to be picked up!! I don’t know what time they open or what time the service people arrive but to swap out a windshield with that technology before 9 o’clock in the morning is absolutely crazy! But that’s Martin Glass. They treated me better than most and got me back in my own vehicle in record time. I can’t say enough good things about that experience and I would encourage anybody to reach out to them for any of your glass needs. Thanks again Jennifer! You’re the best!

First time using Martin Glass and they were excellent! Fast, friendly, efficient. Got me right in for a chip repair. As soon as I walked in they knew what I was there for, took 30 minutes and you can barely tell there was a chip in my windshield.

Martin Glass is what all local businesses should strive to be like. Going through my insurance, I was able to get my entire windshield replaced the next business day, and all of the staff were amazing. And while I hope I don’t need my windshield replaced again anytime soon, I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back.

Had a chip repaired on my F150. Sky in customer service was awesome, very professional and courteous on the phone, she helped set the apt to come to my work at a time that worked best for me. Tech (Nick) called before he arrived. I met him in the parking lot, he reviewed what he would be doing and then called me back out once it was done to go over everything again. He was also very professional and the window looks great! Highly recommend them!

I have used Martin Glass Company several times for insurance glass repair. Every time they are super friendly, courteous, and genuinely care about my situation. They are very knowledgeable and they have always been accomodating to my schedule. When the technicians come to do the glass repair, they are on time, just as friendly and you would never know that you had a glass repair done. They clean up after themselves and leave no traces of being in or around your vehicle....not even a hand print on the vehicle! This is the second windshield that I have had Martin Glass replace. First time I went through my insurance, this time I paid cash. Martin Glass quoted a price that was about 20% lower than big name competitors for a new windshield for my Honda Civic. Two technicians came to my house and within an hour had replaced the windshield, transferred my work parking sticker and oil change reminder decal from the old windshield, and did not leave a trace of evidence behind inside my car or garage. The workmanship on the new windshield appears to me perfect. Highly recommend!!

I recommend Martin glass especially if you have a newer car with all the sensors. Martin glass was able to special order my windshield and took care of everything with my insurance company! They also provide a car rental which really came in handy. After the install, they did the reprogramming there!

Easy to schedule windshield replacement. Technicians were timely and courteous!

Martin Glass was friendly & understanding when I called in with a crack in my car front window. They came to my home the next day to replace the windshield. The technicians explained what they were going to do and completed the replacement quickly...wow! They even showed me a few spots on my roof where rocks had hit which I needed to take care of to avoid rusting. A couple of days later they even called to ensure I was pleased with the replacement. Highly recommended!

It was a small enough chip that they were able to fill, and its been holding up ever since. They came to my work to fix it - super easy. I highly recommend.

Martins Glass helped fill in a couple of small cracks on my front windshield. Amy was extremely helpful on trying to squeeze me into their busy schedule. Mainly, because I was only in town for a couple of days, then heading back to Southern California. Thanks guys, you all did a great job!

Two years ago, I had my back window in my Brand New 2017 Nissan Rogue replaced though my insurance company who suggested that I go with Martin Glass. Martin Glass could come out to my house and replace the back window while I was inside my house working or cooking or taking a shower. Easy peasy right? Everything was super simple. Two years go by and the door to my trunk stops working. I take it in to the dealership where I bought the car, as it is covered under warranty if it is because of something pertaining to the car, and they determine that is is because of a leak in the window that was installed. The corrosion that had built up was so great that the door stopped lifting up because the connections were all corroded. Now, I am pretty upset because the dealership is telling me to sell my car or pay $5000.00 to get it fixed. I still owe $14,000.00 on the car. Now, Nissan doe not quite make things the way normal people would. They made a door with NO option for a key. Additionally, you cannot just get a wiring harness to replace the corroded wires. NO. You have to replace the whole freaking door. It has to be painted when it comes from the factory and in order for that to happen the glass has to be removed, and then installed after painting again, but on the car, so that the trunk and glass all line up correctly. Well no wonder it costs so much. I contacted my insurance agent because I did not know what to do and they again contacted Martin Glass for me--remember, this is two years later. Martin Glass immediately called me.Marla was so nice and so apologetic to me for what had happened and assured me that everything would be ok. She just asked that I bring my car by Martin Glass in Belleville, so that they could get a good look at things and verify that the glass was theirs and that it was in fact from a leak from the glass installed. The day I arrived, I was greeted at the door by a man who knew who I was when I walked in the door. He shook my hand and repeatedly apologized for the trouble. He brought me back through the shop, which is a very clean and nice operation, and showed me where the problem was coming from and that in fact it was a leak from the glass. This gentlemans name was Martin and he and his sister Marla, are the owners of Martin Glass. They paid for everything to be done at the shop of my preference, Auffenberg Ford Body Shop, and put on a brand new glass again. The technician, Ernie, who has been doing this work for I believe he said, 30 years, and his apprentice, were both amazing and extremely professional. They were careful and thoughtful making sure that everything went perfectly for me. I can tell you that you will not get better service, or a better promise, on the work that you have done, than you will get from Martin Glass. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING - TO EVERYONE AT MARTIN GLASS! Had my windshield replaced at the Belleville location about a month ago and couldnt recommend this store more. The front staff effortlessly and professionally answered all my questions and the installation staff performed a top-notch job. All the moldings line up OEM style and the glass itself is distortion free, even in the corners...cant tell its been replaced. Id definitely return.

Martin Glass is great. We had to get our truck windshield replaced. I called Martin Glass and they were able to come out the very next morning. They asked if the glass had tint at the top of the window. I replied no. When they arrived they found out that it did in fact have tint at the top. They had brought the wrong window because of the information I gave them. I live about 40 minutes from the Martin Glass in Belleville. They said it was no problem and they had another driver meet them half way to deliver the correct window. They were very nice about it, even though it was my mistake. They performed the work quickly and it looks great.

I had to get a glass top replaced because I broke it while cleaning. I stopped by the Belleville location and the office was fabulous. I didnt expect it to be that big with lots of displays. I came in for a table glass and I left with wanting to redo my bathroom shower. I will be back for that soon!

Very professional, got the work done in a very timely manner. I had a new windshield installed.

I had a rock chip my windshield on a Friday morning while en-route to work. Had two recommendations for Martin glass, in less than 8 mins. they handled the insurance claim and I had an appointment for 8am the next day at the Belleville location. When I asked if I should bring anything they may need, The very nice woman informed me that all I had to do was show up with the vehicle, to which I replied, Ill bring my Jeep and a smile, but, Im gonna have to have some coffee to which, she replied Ill make a pot. When I arrived, I jokingly asked about the coffee, she told me it was brewing. The coffee was good and the hospitality of the entire staff was of the highest caliber. The repair took just over an hour. I told them to take their time as I felt right at home, relaxed with my morning coffee and a Hot Rod magazine to read. I dont care about the cost. The customer service is more that worth it and the repair is guaranteed.
