Great authentic Italian food in an unbelievable atmosphere. I cannot believe Id never heard of this place before but well definitely be back. Oh and try the Key Lime Pie, it was so good.
It took awhile to get my spaghetti, then it was cold when I got it. Most of the wait staff including the manager, seemed completely disinterested in the customers. Regulars seem to like it, so Im guessing they are the only ones who should be dining there
The veal is so good, seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. The meatball spaghetti is also excellent, the sauce is a bit bland but the meatball itself is full of beaf flavor. As for the tiramisu, not my fav, it’s not lady finger but sponge cake, and you can barely taste any coffee. The only downside is the atmosphere, filled with people and the tables are very close to each other, which is quite a concern during covid time.
Appetizers was not good, spaghetti was not good, creme brule was still frozen
The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy with great background music I really enjoyed. The food left a lot to be desired. The bread that came with pre-wrapped butter was dry and crumbly, the snapper main course was overcooked and bland, the pasta needed to be salted to the extreme, and the key lime pie was frozen in the middle (after asking if the desserts were made in house). It seemed no menu items could be customized: a side of seafood stuffing, the calamari grilled instead of fried, extra bleu cheese olives- all nos from the kitchen despite offering to pay additionally.Ill be coming back for the bar and friendly staff, but not the food.
The handsome head waiter greeted us at the door and seated us with elegance. The food was delicious especially the shrimp Alfredo ... delicious. Everyone is drinking wine and having conversations. Was wonderful. A cosy old house. Loved this place.
Its very good, consistent, and the staff always makes you feel like a friend.
Great pace to eat…very traditional Italian, who is a GOOD THING!!! Highly recommend!
Its a cafe/restaurant, so if you are looking for a bar experience on the weekends- go there. Waiter took drink order and we never saw her again. Thirty minutes later, drinks arrive & waiter took off. 30 minutes goes by, we grab another waiter walking by & we ask to get our waiter. The music was turned up so loud that our small table of 4 had to YELL to hear each other THE ENTIRE TIME. Waiter NEVER came back to check on us. We stop a waiter and he takes our food/drink order. A man approaches us from a table & says I guess our night of a nice dinner experience wasnt going to happen with a grin. After almost two hours of no food & one drink, that same man came and told us that hes the owner, that the kitchen was closing and they only had lasagna left if we still wished to order. We told him that we ordered ages ago & it never came, but yes. He said he would comp the entrees but when we got the bill they were not. Paid at the b/c the waiter never came back to our table, & the bar tender couldnt hear when trying to mention the entrees, so we just paid and got the hell outta there. It was a huge party scene, which is fine if you are planning on that experience. The ONLY reason why we stayed and tried to make the best of it was because we were meeting a friends fiancé from out of town for the first time, and we were all trying to stay chipper. I was embarrassed b/c I had recommended we go there. Shame on the owner for ruining many peoples evening- tables all around us were sitting in silence, on their phones, b/c it was too loud to communicate, but his two table were singing along and dancing. I like that too- in the appropriate environment I LOVED everything D. Brothers used to be, and I promise my name aint Karen!
My favorite Baton Rouge restaurant. It seems like every meal Ive had there has been memorable with either the food, or the people, usually both making it a consistently enjoyable evening. Its very casual, yet theres a sophistication thats unique and hard to describe. The fish with Italian salsa is consistently outstanding and highly recommended. A bit expensive, but not unreasonable considering the quality. Looking forward to my next visit.
Food and wine was fantastic, very good service, definitely will go back…
We had a very large and loud group of ladies - they did a good job of tolerating us. Food was excellent. I did find it a little odd that there were tables setup in the parking lot and people were actually eating at them.
Excellent service, unique location, and a lovely experience. Key lime is exquisite
It was super loud when we came with several patrons obviously drunk or tipsy and shouting over each other. We expect that at a bar, not a restaurant. It was our first time here, as we just moved here, but it was pretty disappointing for a date night. The salad was cut so tiny you could only spoon it with your fork, not poke it. They messed up my husband’s pizza and left celery in my spaghetti. Just not great. The server was nice and took off the pizza, but we won’t be back.
Amazing resreaunt. The atmosphere here is super comfortable. Outside seating has heaters and fans. Just real unique feel here. I was reccomended the chicken parm, and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, covered in an amazing spiced marinara sauce. The spaghetti was great also. The staff were super friendly and fun to talk to, they seem to genuinely enjoy working here. China, out waitress, knew the menu thoroughly and had many detailed reccomendations. I will definitely come back.
My favorite Baton Rouge restaurant. It seems like every meal Ive had there has been memorable with either the food, or the people, usually both making it a consistently enjoyable evening. Its very casual, yet theres a sophistication thats unique and hard to describe. (BTW, for me, sophistication to describe a restaurant would often be synonymous with stuffy; truly not in this case; again, difficult to properly describe). The fish with Italian salsa is consistently outstanding and highly recommended. A bit expensive, but not unreasonable considering the quality. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great place, great people, super friendly. Mandy was terrific!
I did a curbside pickup order over the phone at 9:15pm. I made it to the restaurant at 9:40pm. I called to let them know I was outside and the phone just rang. They never picked up. Not to mention there was no where that said curbside pick up. If they didn’t honor curbside pickup. They could’ve just said that instead of taking my order and having my drive out for nothing.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants...deserves an extra star for the coziness and the candle lit tables. Should be a date spot for all ages.
Food is awesome and the service is always exemplary. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Very authentic. I love it!
Great food. Great service.
Very disappointed in my favorite Italian restaurant for over 20 years. Visited on Friday, October 23 with my wife and another couple. Restaurant was packed inside at 5:30 PM when we arrived. We sat outside, and that was packed by 6:00 PM with spill over waiting in parking lot turned outside dining area. I ordered the House Special-4 cheese lasagna with a meatball. Always a solid dish in the past. The meal arrived after an hour or so, and was warm. I sent it back, and it returned at a better temperature. This special was so far below what Ive had in the past, I couldnt believe it. The meatball was about 3/4 the size of what it was. The lasagna looked like it was a rewarmed leftover. Taste of both were not up to par. The kitchen didnt do their best work that night for sure. Its soured me on going back. Which makes me sad that such a once great place had such a problem. Our waitress couldnt have been more attentive, and constantly apologized for the delay in service. Unfortunately the kitchen let her down, too. Definitely wasnt her fault.
Delicious.. On of the best culinary spaces in Baton Rouge!!!
Great spot. Food and service are always top notch. Man I wish ZeeZees was still across the street...
The best Italian food in Baton Rouge!!! Whenever my family or friends come into BR they always want to visit Digiulios! Everything on the menu is delicious! This place will make you feel right at home also! The waitstaff, bartenders, and even the owners will treat you just like family! Geaux check it out!
One of the best places to eat in Baton Rouge. The staff is amazing.
We had takeout from there. The food was very good. The staff was quick and courteous. The building was also very clean and tidy. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.
Service was ok, however food was mediocre and over priced for small portions.
Great place to get Italian food. Also great versions of original dishes. Well with the wait and the service and food keep us coming back. Cant wait to get to eat there again. We all love it.
All ways good for sunday brunch
I cannot believe I stopped here for the first time yesterday. The food was fantastic and the service was way above and beyond. I came in at the end of the lunch period and Mike and the rest of the staff gave quality service the whole time. Eggplant parmigiano was delicious and filling! I would recommend this place for a special occasion or a weekly place to grab a nice dinner/lunch.
They open at 5, so when I arrived at 5:45 I was surprised to see that they were completely packed! We sat at the bar, and everyone was extremely kind and pleasant. Our food was TO DIE FOR. I could not get over how delicious it was. They will work with you to accommodate allergies or other specifications. 10/10 would highly recommend.
I’ve been a Chef in Nashville, TN for over 20 years and I have to say I found a new home. Mike and his team were above and beyond on customer service and the food was AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is that of what Italian should be! Don’t read about Digiulio Brothers, go there and make your own memories. Thanks again Mike, you are the MAN!!!
The service as always was great. Atmosphere was great. Grouper was good. Its always a pleasure eating there
One of the best restaurants in town. Service is friendly and timely, drinks are delicious and not overpriced, and the food is some of the tastiest in Baton Rouge. Cant go wrong with Digiulio Brothers.
This restaurant was simply perfect. Excellent dinner, excellent service. All on Valentines day. Great job. I will be back soon. Finally found perfect Italian dining. Thanks to the staff.
Best Italian in Baton Rouge. Parking and wait is not the greatest, but that is because the food is amazing. Great for lunch and dinner. You will almost always see the owners in there and working. The whole place has a great Italian family atmosphere, which can get a little noisy at times. One of my favorites.
Food was excellent, service was good. Unexpectedly enjoyed the dressing on the dinner salad. The pasta was prepared just right. Dessert was very good. This place is really small and the gravel parking is limited so I recommend an earlier seating here. As the place filled up it was a little noisy. This is a great place to go on a date.
The food, service, and environment were exceptional. I had the lasagna and meatball and my only complaint is that it was HEAVY on the red sauce. I scraped a lot off and then had some left. They only take RSVP on Valentines Day and New Years Eve so we did have to wait for a minute but that was our fault. Overall a great experience! I will be going back.
First time ordering here. My eggplant parmesan came with spaghetti, salad and bread. From phone through pick up I am impressed with the courtesy, food and will be back!
This place is awesome! Food is great! Best meatball/eggplant sandwich Ive ever had! Atmosphere is great for date night and staff is friendly and attentive! Bar tenders are on the spot! By 7pm this place was packed both week days I went there!
I was traveling through Baton Rouge and only stopped for a quick lunch. So glad we did. the food was wonderful and service was great as well. A+
Glad to see that you are open during this trying time. We picked up food last night and it was wonderful. We do miss sitting at the bar for our dinner and trying the wine of the day. It is always a good tome at Digiulio Brothers.
Always Amazing! We LOVE the atmosphere & vibe of this place! The food is wonderful and the staff too! The Veal Avezzano, is to die for!♡ Perfect for our date nights or brunch with the my girls! ♡ I absolutely agree with it being the The Best Italian Restaurant around town, hands down!
Small restaurant so expect a wait during busy hours, but very much worth the wait! My husband loves spaghetti and said this is the best he’s ever had, he gets the spaghetti g.p.o. and adds meatballs with marinara. The chicken Parmesan is my go to favorite. This was also where we had our first date so it’s a special place for us!
I had the shrimp al a vodka the shrimp was very overcooked and not divined the spicy tomato cream sauce had little to no cream in it and little hard pieces of something that was as hard as bone could not eat it the only reason Im giving two stars is because my boyfriends salmon steak was not that bad but its only side was spaghetti covered in olive oil and parsley which was more than half the plate not going back
The grits cake is mind blowing! Loved the quaint atmosphere and the service was great!
Good food and drinks. Quiet and beautiful place ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😍😍
Tiny but cosy dining room... but the best tables are on the patio under the porch lights sipping on a glass of red wine and enjoying the best Italian meal in town. House salad, fresh bread, and lasagna with meatballs is the best meal outside of Italy.
Digiulios signature dish, as per waitress, is the spaghetti and meatballs. I must say it was a very disappointing meal. The spaghetti use was thin spaghetti instead of traditional. Also the meatballs were very dry and hard. It does have an authentic taste but it was much be be desired. Two stars for pure atmosphere. Its a very romantic and intimate set up.
Great waitress. Generous servings. Menu could have had more light or smaller items
This is hands down my favorite italian restaurant in Baton Rouge. Everything Ive ever had there has been simply amazing. I choose to go there any chance i get! Truly a great place with a wonderful atmosphere and even better food and service! Do yourself a favor and try it!
Food and atmosphere were amazing. Unexpected hole in the wall! We were genuinely greeted by the bartender and manager. Just from watching the patrons, it was obvious this is a place where you got to spend hours enjoying the company of friends, family, and great food.
Great staff and exquisite food. The walnut Gorgonzola salad was a hype, not worth the $2 extra. They served the best fried calamari Ive ever tasted and their thin pizza with cheese was excellent. We had a Turnrow Coriander Ale which was served on a small pony beer glass, very reminiscent of restaurants in Italy.
Small and loud environment, but great food. I really liked the portabella mushrooms with grilled shrimp. So yummy!
This place is a small gem in BR. My husband and I ate there for the first time last night, and it was scrumptious. The interior is charming and cozy, a bit loud, but not excessive. The waitress, Roxanne, was knowledgeable and full of personality. Every recommendation she made was dead on, from wine to food. My husband had the Oso Bucco which was fork tender, and the vegetables were as good as the meat. I had the Veal Marsala, and am having a hard time finding adjectives to do it justice. The wine sauce was so rich, the veal was cooked perfectly. The pasta was some of the freshest Ive ever had. We will go back soon.
Wonderful Italian food, cozy place, friendly staff, good location
Great food. Love the atmosphere. Small place...very comfortable setting. Service was very good.
Food was good and service was friendly. Lunch specials are nice.
One of my favorite places to go. People are always friendly and the food is excellent.
Great food and customer service
I had the honor of eating the Digiulio Brothers on Perkins on Easter lunch. It attracts a good crowd, definitely not a Dominos pizza place. Expect to have perfect service, in an adorable little Italian restaurant decorated with little knick knacks that illustrate its Italian culture. We had the four cheese white pizza which is a slender but extremely flavorful pie. I had a salad in order to impress my date with my eating choices, but it was good, and filled me appropriately. I will definitely go back for more pizza and wine. Very romantic.
So delicious, wonderful for date night. Also the service is fabulous.
Great food and quiet lunch crowd.
Digiulio Brothers, Oh my, I now have a favorite restaurant near Perkins Overpass.A delightful gentleman greeted us at the front door as if we were his personal guest for the evening. I had ordered togo for 2, before we knew it, Mike was describing a wonderful wine, that was being introducing there. Excellent choice.Mike then appeared with 2 small plates with the most wonderful aroma, he introduced us to Digiulio Brother’s Eggplant, simply wonderful. The veal piccata and their spaghetti g.o.p. Outstanding!I have a new favorite place!
Nice outdoor dining area
Lunch was fantastic. Iconic spaghetti and meatballs. Had to send back dirty silverware so slight ding.
It is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with cozy, intimate atmosphere that stresses its Italian roots, complete with opera playing in the background. Menu is extensive and typical with an emphasis on classic pasta dishes with a LA flair.
Excellent!! We are out of town-ers & a local recommended this place; so glad he did! All the food was delicious and the coconut pie is to die for!! The service was great as well. Loved it all.
Always 5 stars
Always good food and a very friendly staff!
Have been there twice. Underwhelming. The Italian GOP is surprisingly bland and without enough garlic. Also ordered the chicken Parmesan Togo. No bread, salad without dressing in it or on the side. Pasta over cooked. It tasted ok, but maybe not worth the price.
Very cool neighborhood restaurant with excellent service and great Italian food!
Amazing food, great service. The owner went out of his way to care for our party of 11. We will be back!
Best service and food in baton rouge.
Awesome food and service. They never disappoint.
Best Italian restaurant I think I’ve ever been to! Portions are huge. Wine isn’t overpriced. I’m obsessed with the lasagna!
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Baton Rouge, and its locally owned and operated by Mike Johnson and his wife. Very nice folks. Great atmosphere and delicious food and good drinks.
Whenever Im in Baton Rouge I always make it a point to visit one of my favorite restaurants, Digiulios! A warm friendly atmosphere, especially the bar staff. The food is always second to none, drink and wine selection are first class too. My biggest problem with Digiulios is trying to make up my mind on what to order since everything Ive had there has been great! Ive been going there for at least the last 15 years or more and dont plan on stopping anytime soon. I highly recommend you experience it for yourself!
Everything was FRESH. Had a Caesar salad and Meatball Poboy. Tried but couldnt finish it. Absolutely delicious. Waitress was phenomenal. Outside seating made for a great lunch date with the wife.
Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge-maybe one of my favorite restaurant of all time.
Best Italian in town. They give you a little glass to pour your beer into. Adds to the experience.
My first issue with this place was the fact that i went inside to get a table, they told me to just wait. There was a list however so i waited about 20 minutes before someone told me there was a list so i was put behind others. Then we ordered our food when we were sat, the server spoke to us only to get our orders and that was it. She passed a thousand times and never asked us how we were or anything. She sat a check down without a word and that was it. Food was subpar.
Great food and nice portions. Always a great time.
I enjoyed this smallish restaurant. The food was good and Ill be going back for more.
Excellent menu items.
Great food. Great service. Nuff said.
Extremely fresh food and a great atmosphere. Awesome experience!!
Used to work here years ago.....Outstanding food, great environment. Good times, Great people.....
Love this place. Perfect for a intimate romantic dinner. Everything is great, except the bread which I found to be strange.
This place is a gem! No other restaurant like it in Baton Rouge. Great food, great service, and the best ambiance. Mike and his team are the best.
Nice place, excellent service. Interestingly good shrimp salad for a Tuesday special.
Traditional, classic, wonderful! Small dining area but perfect for this restaurant. Never can go wont with Digiulios
