It is highly unacceptable to give a clearly used, not re packaged item for order pickup. Because I have an upcoming trip this weekend, I last minute looked for a roof rack for additional space (that is on me). I found one nearby at my closest Academy and order it for store pick up. Since I work from home, I sent my father to get it, and am angry he did not say anything upon receipt of the package at my house, the box is completely bust open, with the roof rack out completely out of its storage bag. The roof rack itself when unrolled, is wet on the inside which makes me think the previous person who purchased it, used the item, then brought it back to the store to get their money back. I have to pull away from my desk to handle the return of this item immediately and discuss which the store manager, why would any part of this be considered acceptable. I have included pictures below to show time stamps from purchase to pick and receipt of the roof rack.

While Academy seems to be a little short staffed they always seem to manage the store just fine. Its well stocked, lots of items to choose from and the people who work there are friendly. Its one of my favorite places to shop in BR.

The customer service at this particular store never fails to amaze me over and over again. If you are in the Baton Rouge area and you want to go to Academy you should go to this store. They will take care of you from the moment you enter until the moment you leave, and even after you leave if for any reason you need their assistance.Ms. Beth, and Mr. Scott are two of most professional, friendly, helpful people I have ever encountered in any store I’ve been to. Clean store and all employees masked up. Went in for some running shoes and found some ASICS that were $20 off (pictured).What really surprised me was how well organized the shoe boxes were at 3 pm on a Saturday. Not sure if that says more about the clientele or the staff, but all the boxes were directly above/below the display model. For the ENTIRE section I was on!The Seigen location is directly on my way home from work, but I prefer this store. Usually better stocked. Always nicer people.

Their prices are always fair and competitive, however the problem is you never know if what you’re looking for is going to be in stock!

What happened to the customer is always right? I guess it depends on what you look like. The only bad actor is Beth and the untrained cashier who could not print a receipt. Be careful what you say. You never know who can hear you. Or maybe you people just dont care. Either way, you will learn!

Part to my previous complaint posted earlier. Upon arrival I requested to speak with a manager, but was directed to a floor supervisor (I wish I could remember her name because she worked well). She assisted me through the process of return with a cool calm demeanor. Due to how recent the transaction was, she had to call a manager to assist. While one did appear did not acknowledge me at all, closed out the transaction and then went to talk to another associate. Ok. I addressed her myself as I requested a manager and did not get to acknowledge my concernThe minute I start explaining, she says oh yeah I heard ( hmm but you didnt come.. strike one). She then cut me off and had the audacity to ask what do I want. I dont want anything from this store especially if this is the way ya ll operate. There is no part of me that is interested in coming back to this store but I do want to put in a request that there is quality control training done. No employee should feel it is okay to give a customer a clearly used item. I also said even if it was marked at a discount and listed as used THAT would have been acceptable. But I paid a brand new price for an item that was not brand new. Strike 2 she tried to cut me off while I was talking. That is disrespectful to interrupt while a person is talking, as someone that is familiar work with situation de-escalation. Strike 3 is her apology that I had to bring my kids in the store to do a refund. First my kids were not part of the transaction and are never a inconvenience for me to bring anywhere. Second as a remote work employee I had to step away from my desk to address the situation as it was not acceptable in the least. Work on knowing how to address situations and not make assumptions.

Ended up going Herr before closing late one night. The store was closing in 45mins and the entire staff was very rude to me and other shoppers. Constantly telling us that they are ready to close and that we either need to hurry up or leave. Another customer came and shopped close by me because and i quote the employees are very aggressive and I dont feel comfortable, do you mind if I try my shoes on by you? Seriously academy I know we were they late but this was a very unpleasant experience.

The staff is extremely helpful with helping you find what you need...The 2 young men ..one that helped me find the tennis shoes I was looking for and the other one that got me a price check on a bicycle was very polite..kudos to yall ..and thanks Again to both

One star is for the nice lady who did assist after someone else refused to. I approached the counter and watched the cashier not speak to two customers before me. When it became my turn, I said “good morning” and she rolled her eyes. Then I said “I guess we are not speaking this morning.” She ripped my items off the counter, set them next to her machine and said she was refusing to serve me and that she didn’t speak because she didn’t hear me. One, she should be the first one to speak to a customer. Two, I watched her refuse to speak to multiple customers. She sent me to the back of another line then eye stalked me until I walked out of the store. Never in my life have I experienced customer service like this.

I bought two pairs of shoes from the Clearance lrack, but one pair didnt have a price. So I had to go back to the clearance rack and get a price myself and bring the shoes back to the register. When one of the Academys team members should have did that for me. Bad customer service.

Understaffed, the customer service desk ignored us and no one told us who to talk to to purchase our product. The cashier wa good but had to help us find someone though she was overwhelmed at the register. The guy who got our item from the van was polite and helpful.

I really like Academy and their selection of men’s shoes but the reason I rated them at a 2 star is this. I found one of their hand held inventory computers laying on the floor. I attempted to find someone but no one was around. Brought it to one of the assistant managers. Knowing these little computers are really expensive I figured I would at least catch a “thank you” or a little discount but no... nothing... not even a k** my a**.I’ll find another Academy to shop .

No customer serviceI needed to purchase insuated cooler d/t hurricane storm. No power since friday. No one there to help me get orices. Coolers all mixed up on shelves in wrong places...couldnt get price checks. Very disorganized

Academy is one of my favorite stores. It is the best place to buy sports gear all year round. I remember my parents taking me shopping here for new shoes and a backpack before school started. They have a good variety of athletic wear and you can even find school uniforms here. Ive recently purchased a lunch box from here since they have large varieties that are perfect to bring to work.

Academy is one of my favorite stores in Houston. Neat and well-organized are words I would use for most stores there. Baton Rouge, Airline store was a different story. I visited yesterday to get some casual shoes. The shoe department was a wreck. About 1/2 of the display shoes were missing from their stands. Piles of merchandise were laying about and in carts. Worst of all, shoe boxes were seemingly randomly stacked, and often had the wrong shoes in them. I looked all up and down one aisle, high and low before I found the shoe I wanted. Maybe 45 minutes for what should have been a 5 minute exercise.

This is probably the best Academy store in the Baton Rouge area - along with the one out in Juban Crossing in Denham. The guys in the gun department actually know what theyre talking about, unlike at Bass Pro or Cabelas, and their prices are far more reasonable. Store is always clean and everybodys always very helpful.

I didnt get her name, but one of the floor sales people helped my mom and I find shoes for my dad in his size (13). She checked inventory then grabbed the ladder and moved stacks of boxes to get the last pair. She was nice and patient and funny! If I lived here, Id be a regular.

This was the worst experience ever. I was in the store around 8:00 in the morning and I imagine there were no more than 10 customers in the store. Whenever I asked an employees for help they said, I don’t work in that section, I’ll ask someone in that department to come to assist. No one ever came. Employees were hanging out chatting.The worst customer service ever.The store was well organized and clean, that is why I gave them a star.Drive across town to avoid this store!

Service wasnt good I asked for help in getting a pair of track shoes didnt know anything about them the salesperson pointed out the little section and walked off I purchased a pair of shoes that I found they were in one place for one price and they rang up another price wasnt a big deal when I got to my grandson with the shoes the spikes or whatever or something that go in the bottom of the shoe was not even in the box I didnt even know that I needed these so my impression of the salesperson was that they were not there to help they were there to watch what you do and that was only one person in the whole shoe area and another couple was there and the husband was actually getting the shoes and bringing them to the wife to try on the kids and they were sitting on the floor it was like its no big deal

Worst experience ever in this location. Looking for shoes to work in a worker ignored me completely then after I called her she called somebody else that didn’t show up.

I love academy sports For most things. That being said, trying to find and purchase childrens shoes and cleats there makes me want to never come back. There has got to be a better way!

Theres Academy Sports places here, there, and almost everywhere but this one has always been a favorite to patronize. This store has a large selection of all sporting clothes, always has exactly what Im looking for, and usually somethings on sale. Plenty of parking and conveniently located near major traffic routes.

Prices at this location were higher that the Thibodaux location for marine batteries. Ill go back to Thibodaux to be closer to home and save money.

Didnt really get any service from anyone

This store is not well organized or kept. Today was a visit to the shoe section and they were mixed up and missed placed we finally gave up and went to another location. Several workers were present they just didnt seem to have interest in helping. Oh and I forgot about the greeter... He made eye contact and looked away to ignore us... Not busy just stood at the podium and went out of his way to ignore us.
