I recently visited this store with a couple of friends. Both were not black but I am. I read the reviews prior and decided to go to “you & I beauty supply” and it’s actually this place. Immediately by walking in, the man stops me while browsing and says I need to keep my bag on the counter while I shopped. My friend had the same bag and was not approached. I agreed because I didn’t want to cause a scene and mention how we had the same sized bag. After I agreed he left my ítems there for anyone to take and kept looking at me while I browsed the store but not at my friends. If you’re afraid of customers stealing then add cameras, but targeting young black youth off a stereotype or one incident is disgusting. Do better. Thankfully the woman who rung us up was respectful and kind. I will not be returning.

Best hair store in south baton rouge. They have really good quality but cheap synthetic wigs. The lashes are also cheap there for good quality. Great if your in the LSU area.

Please please please take your business elsewhere, anywhere. I have frequented this business for over two years and spent at least 300 or more dollars there. On my final visit and I do mean final I was treated horribly by the man who owns or works there. I was using my smart phone to watch a review on YouTube of the wig I was going to purchase. This wig was in a package and store policy does not allow you to take it out of pkg to try on. He stood in close proximity to me first asking me not to use his Wifi. I told him I was using my own WiFi then he told me no price comparison. I assured him I wanted to see what the wig looked like on a person and showed him I was watching a review as I have done in the past, before buying a wig. He then told me I should go to bigger Beauty supply shop in the mall and told me to leave. Apparently this store doesn’t need my money and frankly I don’t won’t to give it to them. They have lost a valued customer in me. On a positive note I went to the beauty supply store in Port Allen on Lobdell and was treated like a queen. I believe the name is Princess Beauty Supply. They now have my business and my loyalty.

The man thought i was trying to steal a fanny pack because i picked up one that I liked and tried to continue shopping. I put it back and he lost a sale. Just beware of him staring you down the whole time you’re in there.

I’ve been reading the reviews posted here and I never tend to do this but I think that many people are exaggerating. They are scared of stealing, which is understandable because some of the hair can be worth a good amount of money. Nothing that I thought was over-barring. I’ve shopped there multiple times for all different reasons and I, much like anyone else, have had to give up large bags and place them in the front counter. It can get to be annoying if you were going in and out. But that is the way they insure that nothing could be stolen. Overall, I’ve been happy with the items I have purchased for both the quality and the price.

Would rate lower if I could. Hate going to this hair store because I noticed they always give black customers ugly looks, but its the closest to my apartment and I was in a hurry so i decided to go in. I was about to make about a $30 purchase and was accused of trying to steal a $1 lip gloss. I pulled out my pockets to show I had nothing and walked out without getting the items i went for. Absolutely prejudiced and rude.After I let a few people know on social media I was told that they had similar encounters, all black women.

Yeah, I agree. I only went there because I needed hair products quickly. That man stared at, peeped through holes, and watched me until I just told him out loud, you dont have to fall down the steps and break yo neck lookin at me because I dont steal...on and on. I told him I will take my business elsewhere from now on. He made the wrong person mad. He didnt seem to care at all about what I was saying. So I will spend my Benjamins at another store. He lost an excellent customer.Update: Its better to just go online to the actual wig sites, such as Glamourtress, Zury, etc. That way you can shop the wigs and also watch review videos on YouTube about the wigs. You wont have to worry about being scoped out by employees, and you can take your time in choosing wigs and other products. Only takes a few days at most for delivery.

Was trying to pick out slippers for my niece and the man stood in the front and stared at me the entire time we were looking for shoes but when I looked at him he would look up at the ceiling like he wasnt staring at me. They think everyone in there is trying to steal and well sit there and walk around watching everyone rather than checking you out. Like how am I going to steal and the shoes are literally sitting right in front of the checkout counter

Don’t go here. They don’t deserve our service. The entire time I shopped I was looked at as though I was trying to steal, when in reality all I wanted to do was make sure I found quality hair that I would purchase and actually like. Never going here or giving them my business again.

Not even one star. Kicked me out because I was taking to long to choose what wig I wanted. I had no pockets so I couldnt steal if thats what he was thinking & besides, why would I want to steal. I obviously have enough money to buy it lace wigs, why would I want to steal ?

0 stars. They spend too much time trying to figure out if other customers are going to steal rather than take care of guests that are trying to check out. Ive been going to them because theyre convient, but its becoming ridiculous. They will no longer recieve business from me.
