Great shop with a huge mystery section. Very helpful and knowledgeable owner.
Very nice, eclectic selection. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting.
Owner is friendly and there is a nice selection of books.
Great bookstore!
A very well kept book store with lots of books about Maine as well as used books of all kinds. Shop owners are very knowledgeable and can definitely recommend something to you. Lots of used paperbacks, some collector books, Stephen King books, you name it.
Great little booked store stuffed with mystery books. Just up my alley. The owner manned the store and was pleasant and knew exactly where we could find what we were looking for. Nice enjoyable stop along the road into Bar Harbor.
A sleepy and snug book shop where every wall is covered and shelves and every shelf is bursting with books. The mix of books from every genre and across decades made browsing very entertaining. We picked up a few paper back Agatha Christie books for a good price and the owner laughed at one of my bad jokes. Its hard to articulate but this is exactly the kind of shop youd want to visit on a Maine vacay
Friendly owner and clean shop. A bit smaller than I expected from the look of it. If youre into mystery books they have a really good selection and the prices on the used books are extremely fair.
Cool place. Very friendly staff
Great finds and a super cute pup to boot. I mean books and a dog cmon people, its a happy place with things to feed the mind. Reading is for rebels
Caught this small place out of the corner of my eye in a quiet section of Bar Harbor. The owner was friendly and a cinephile, so we had a lot to talk about, Mostly mystery/crime books. He noted the name of my friend and British mystery writer Tony Broadbent. Well-curated selection of signed and first editions. A quality selection of unsung history books. Found several great books for my shelves. Definitely stop in when youre in the neighborhood.
If you love old books, youll love this tiny shop filled with a variety of old and new books. Not baby stroller friendly (has steps) but totally worth the visit!
This cozy shop has a large variety, ranging from inexpensive vacation reading to hard-to find maritime books. We enjoyed our visit and stocked up on summer reading.
Stopped in cause I finished all my vacation reading materials. Loved the shop and the owners, Steve and Barbara, were so nice. Hulls Cove is so cozy and Acadia entrance is right there!!
I love Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island - I have been going since I was ten - Mystery Cove Book Shop is part of the local scene - and if you love used books - as I do - - then this should be on your list of places to visit when on Mount Desert Island - - the prices are good -they organize their sections quite well - - and as with all used book stores - you can find a gem - or two or three here to read on the beach or take back home with you!
Tons of great books, including several signed copies.
Young and those of wisdom will love this shop! Then stop at the wine shop and walk to the beach to read your chosen novel. Work up a hunger and have lobster over the bay!
Nice little book store. Friendly owners.
One of the best used book stores Ive ever visited. I stop by every time Im on MDI.
Bit high prices for used books. Great assortment.
Cute place, nice selection & is well priced.
Definitely worth a visit!
Favorite used book store, ever.
Prices are pretty reasonable
Well organized collection.
