I am a violin teacher and I have always had a great experience getting my own violin and bow worked on at Perrin and Associates. Ive sent countless families to Perrin for renting or purchasing all sizes and levels of violins. Roger and the staff work hard every time to get the absolute best quality string instrument for the money you can spend.
So kind, transparent, and helpful! I recently got back in to playing my violin and will definitely be back.
Perrin is great! I brought my cello in for issues with my endpin. It was the end of the day when I dropped it off, and when I told them I was going to be unavailable in the afternoon through the weekend to pick it up, they had it ready mid-day the next day!
Great place to rent or purchase a cello or violin. Everyone there is knowledgeable about care and maintenance of the instruments as well.
Excellent selection of instruments. Very knowledgeable staff. Roger Perrin is excellent to deal with. I bought a violin here several years ago. When a serious defect appeared, Roger brought out a selection of comparable instruments for me to choose a replacement. Every instrument I tried was perfectly set up. The staff helped me audition the violins and were very helpful.I am even happier with the new fiddle than I was with the older one. This place has my highest recommendation.
Very nice people. Not judgy. Worth the money I paid.
The staff are great. The instruments range from beginner level to ... virtuoso (violin pricing from $500-$25,000). You can find what you need without pressure!
I love this place! Ms. Carolyn is so knowledgeable, talented and patient. The customer service here is impeccable in my opinion. I will definitely be frequenting this place more often.
Perrin is the best and most reputable violin dealer/restorer in larger Baltimore area. I bring my cellos here for repair and maintenance and always receive wonderful, professional services. I will not hesitate to recommend my students coming here to purchase or rent. The staff are delightful, knowledgeable and courteous. If you’re thinking about getting a string instrument, pls go to a professional violin maker like Perrin. Don’t just go to a all purpose music store-they don’t have the knowledge and expertise professional violin makers like Perrin’s staff have-the difference in quality for the instruments and service is day and night.
I came in for various violin related services, and was warmly greeted and welcomed by very helpful and passionate staff. It is a beautiful shop, and they offer many different services and products. If you or your child play a stringed instrument, this is the place to go.
Best strings shop in Maryland hands down.Be sure to make a reservation for superbly personalised service.
Tip: use the 2 reserved parking spaces in the parking lot across the street and not street parking and save yourself a headache
I love this place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They give you space to try out the instruments and dont hover. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because of the parking situation. They have a few spots in the lot across the street, but if theyre occupied, street parking is the only option, and usually there are no close spots. Very inconvenient when youre lugging a cello.
Great service and super knowledgeable luthiers here! Been going here for over 20 years!
Always a joy to come here. Superb attention and service all around, and adjustments are first-rate.
I couldnt be happier with the service I received. I will always bring my violin here for repairs. I dont have the best violin, but it is sentimental, and I trust the staff here to take care of my instrument.
Always great level of service and willingness to help. High level of expertise in their craftsmanship. Also, great location for Peabody-goers
Great selection of instruments in a variety of price ranges! Knowledgeable staff gives personalized interactions with the customers so they feel valued!
Comfortable accommodating staff. Walked in. Tested a few cellos and bows in my price range. Will pick up Friday.
The instruments are in very good conditions and the staff is very helpful, but the owner Rodger Perrin was extremely rude to me. I left the store in tears. He was not patient with my questions when I was trying to decide whether to sell or exchange my violin, and he totally lost his temper. I used to recommend the place to everybody.
Looking at the reviews I thought I would just try my luck. Looking to rent a cello for a shorter period of time (< 2 months) for DD who would be spending that period of time attending a sleep-away camp. Knew this was not standard . The owner talked to me over the phone. he eventually proposed to charge roughly 3 times the normal monthly rate, without insurance, and we would be solely responsible for any damage. Since DD would not have permission to leave camp, I had to ask whether it was possible for them to drop off/pick up the instrument, with a fee. He apparently became so infuriated, he told me to take my business elsewhere and hanged up on me before I had a chance to say anything more.I now have a hard time understanding why a person with such a short temper and rude manner opened a string instrument shop.
Very professional. They were thorough and answered all my questions when I went to repair my cello.
Impressive. They really seem to know their stuff.
Very nice people, good service, bow rehairs are fine. Nice instruments.
Lovely selection but staff above our playing level at this point in time. Staff a little aloof.
