So I dont believe that the service is incredibly fast, seeing as there is a sign on the hostess desk telling you that they are a real kitchen. That being said we opted for the grab and go items. Well, for a reheated egg sandwich it wasnt too bad. I actually enjoyed it. And their prices seemed very reasonable.
Place looks great, very old school. Unfortunately the table jukebox was not working which has always been something Ive wanted to try. They play plenty of classic songs while we where there including Frankie Valli and Buddy Holly so I still got the vibe. The food was a decent portion and reasonably priced, both of which are rare for an airport!
I get the usual Miso Burger served on lettuce (no bun, or Wasabi sauce). I understand the lack of personnel and usual go in to get my food. Since I had a sleep kid in the car, I opted for curbside. Will not do that again. Its far and in between that I go since the plant-based options are limited.
Honestly one of the best airport diners Ive ever been to. Los of space, food options, including flexatarian options. Really enjoyed my mozzarella sandwich and my bf said his avocado toast was good too. Overall, if you got to eat at the airport, its not a bad option.
This is a nice restaurant. I went here before flying out of the airport to Cleveland and was satisfied with my experience. I walked into this restaurant and was seated by a hostess at a booth table. I then ordered some shrimp and a lemonade with no ice from a server whose name was Julius. I got my lemonade, a hub needed up having ice in it. I drank it, and it tasted good. After waiting g for a bit I got my shrimp, which tasted good. I also got a refill of my lemonade, which was nice. I then ordered a dessert which had chocolate chip cookies topped with brewers ice cream and whipped cream. I ate it and it tasted good, but I didn’t finish it because the dessert was huge and I was already full. After I ate the dessert I could eat, I paid for my food and left the restaurant, satisfied with my experience. I gave this restaurant five stars because it has good food and good desserts.
Returned all food, just not near to was was expected. I knew when I ordered I shouldn’t have ordered, the fish tacos, which was basically thrown on a plate and then a bowl of fruit was placed on top of the fish… just very poor presentation. Lost my appetite. Bartender was overwhelmed, but extremely kind. She is the three stars for her effort and cleanliness. The two lost stars go to the kitchen, which is obviously not their goal. Keep focused, do better, this could have easily been a 1 star from a jacknut but I’m keeping it real.
We agree with the positive comments. The power salad was very satisfying, and the pan seared salmon was even better. The menu is varied enough, and the chef and kitchen staff really showed their talent and training. Better than many new york diners. Also, quite a selection of coctails and beers. Did not expect the experience at an airport diner!
Great environment. The food was pretty good but the service was excellent. Our waitress was serving many tables at once yet still attended to each table with enthusiasm and a great friendly attitude. I ordered an oreo milkshake and when the waitress informed me they were out of oreos after I placed my order she improvised with ingredients and offered me a chocolate chip cookie milkshake she created. It was delicious!! Going there made my whole day and I will definitely visit again if I’m ever at this airport in the future.
DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HERE!!!! I cant stress it enough! Only 2 servers working, after we were seated by a staff member no one waited on us and we left. So unless you have unlimited time to wait, dine elsewhere....
The Silver Diner in the Baltimore Airport was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had while eating in an airport. My husband and I had a 2.5hr layover on our way home from a trip to Naples, Florida. After walking the entire airport trying to to decide on a place to eat, we finally settled on The Silver Diner. I was skeptical that the food would be good, but wanted to eat at a place with a real kitchen. The restaurant was very busy so our waitress let us know it would be a few minutes until she could take our order. It was perfectly fine with us since we had nowhere to go. We sat at the counter and our waitress was extremely cheerful, kind, courteous. In fact, all the stuff was in good spirits. I ordered a BLT and fries and my husband had pancakes eggs and home-fries. Both of our meals came out quickly and they were delicious! This was not typical diner food. It was cooked perfectly and the bread that my BLT came on was a grainy and seedy bread it was sooo good. Even the menu catered to those with all types of diets including vegan. An overall great experience and place to hang out waiting for a flight. Your staff is 5 star : ) Thank you!
Kind of blown away with all the rave reviews of this place. It was a standard airport dining experience for me - mediocre food, mediocre waitstaff, a bit more pricy than normal food. Definitely not worth 4.1 stars or whatever the current rating is.
Had the oat milk protein pancakes and they were incredible! Hubby had the farmers skillet and said it was delicious. Loved the music. This was a really cool place with great service.
Delicious. Eggs Benny was so good. Kids Pancakes were good. Great atmosphere and staff.
Always great service and food. Best place to get a good sit down meal before your flight.
Pretty good vegan options for airport food. Food is nutritious and only thing I would change would be less oil. Quick service as well. Food was ready in about 15 minutes
Very good, considering its in the BWI airport. Breakfast all d a y. Lots of healthy options
Food is good. Serving size on lunch & dinner is too small. Service & policies are very uneven. I am an airline crew member and have been dining at Silver Diner BWI for 8 years. I order the same two lunch items for the most part. I had a server and an asst mgr to tell me that I couldnt substitute one side for another without an upcharge. Told me it had been that way for years. Told them Id never been charged ever. They said impossible! I laughed and left. Theres always something there with service. My discretionary dollars are large & I am very intentional on where I spend my money! I went to Green Turtle restaurant on Concourse D and enjoyed good food and excellent service! No surprises!
I DO NOT recommend this place!! Waited over 20 minutes for a seat in a half-empty restaurant. Was never acknowledged by management. Deli counter person told us they were in the middle of a shift change. Still no excuse for making customers wait without management coming out to let customers in line know. Decided not to give this Silver Diner our business. Several other customers left before we did.
Great stop during our layover. Great service and fast delivery! Don the manager was extremely friendly. 100% recommend!
Great fish taco. Grabbed a bite before my SWA flight and it was just right! Waitress was supper friendly and energetic too.
The food was excellent, I ordered crab cakes. However, the service was not so good. I was seated and waited over 10 minutes for the waiter to even say hello or offer a menu. He apologized but then spilled water on my table and gave me a receipt covered in someone elses food -gross! He was much friendlier to the family at the table across from me joking with them and providing them with better service than me. I come through this airport a lot and might come back as long as I can get a different server.
This is a very dependable place for good food pre-flight. You need more time than the classic fast food joints but the extra time is well worth the investment. Big and diverse menu.
Had the Philly cheese steak. Absolutely insane!! Cook deserves a shout out. Presentation was on spot. Waitress was awesome. Definitely recommend if you have a few hours to kill at BWI.
The appearance and nostalgia of the place was amazing. I havent ever seen a place with a functioning quarter jukebox at every table (loaded with tremendous music 50s thru 80s). Wife got a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, and I, a bacon cheeseburger. Both were not amazing, but were fair. Biggest complaint would be the bread being not as fresh as it should be (kinda tough/ chewy/ crunchy). We werent impressed as a whole, but it wasnt a disappointment compared to other places. Perhaps our expectations were too high.
At the Baltimore Airport, this place has good food and solid diner ambiance. Ive eaten there a couple of times and like it. However, giving me a tiny plastic fork and napkin in a cellophane envelope is kind of a mood killer. Come on guys. No 5 stars.
Great vegetarian egg white omelet. The wheat toast was excellent..and I am not a bread fan.
Mike was an amazing server! He was light-hearted, funny, and made sure we had what we needed. The food was so good. We always stop here before a flight...and sometimes after.
Food was really good. Definitely not what we were expecting! We were expecting greasy spoon diner food but it was fresh and local. Overall very good. It could have been served a little faster but it was the end of the night so that could have been a factor.
Food was good!! The cashier acted as if I was a BIG bother because I was breathing. SMH I WISH these folks who are NOT people persons would get jobs doing something other than dealing with people. DO BETTER ~ Oh so they KNOW who it was, I was there at 1pm Sunday Aug 22.
Slow service, had to walk around and find someone to take my money. Its an airport, people generally have someplace to be.Eggs overcooked and the home fries were dry and boring. No onions, peppers seasoning, just plain fried potatoes. Good news is that is was typical high airport pricing because if you get crappie food and service you dont want it to be cheap.
Excellent! Had chicken & waffles, bourbon salmon and chicken campagnelle. All fantastic. So good we went twice in one week.
We had AMAZING service, and the food was good.
Good food option for a longer layover. We got breakfast food and coffee and it did the trick. Good amount of seating and a long bar.
WARNING: The guacamole toast has a little spice, but not much guacamole! Something different in the airport. Lots of stuff on the menu. Friendly service.
Super kind staff. Smiling and great service. Reasonable selection of food for a sit down airport diner. I was able to socially distance and felt comfortable.
The waitress we had was fantastic!! I Loved the atmosphere. Food was good and they serve adult beverages!
Was not to bad. Have had better. Pancake was spot on.
We eat here the waiter name Haawah she was very professional and very polite we will come back again thank you
Relax and enjoy a meal if youve got some extra time between flights. Food was good and service was friendly.
Food was good. Service was ok. Feel like they could have used a few more servers but the ones they had were very friendly.
Had a great lunch here during our layover. The deluxe burger and salmon were delicious.
Really good food, especially for an airport diner, food is fresh, and the portions are good, too. 4.5 stars for food. But the service is pretty consistently only average to bad. The people working are nice and pleasant! But they are slow and not attentive at all to customers.... not what you want when eating at the airport. 2 stars for service. I would still come bc the food is good.... its consistently good. I just wish they would step up their game service-wise.
It was a good dining experience. I like this place
Excellent pub fare with a local touch and surprisingly good quality and prices for an airport establishment.
Upgraded diner-style food. Burgers, salads, breakfast foods, and dessert. Relatively quick service. Friendly staff. A good place to eat if you have some extra time in the terminal.
Traveling from Norfolk to Columbus and had plenty of time for a decent dinner. The salmon was wonderful and just enough for dinner. It was tasty and cooked just right. Beer was cold and the service was great. Been there a few times and never disappointed.
This was a pleasant treat at the BWI Airport! After flying literally all day, my family of six decided to catch dinner during a brief layover. We all sat down to delicious burgers, club sandwiches, milkshakes, fries, and coffee 😊 Clearly this is a staple diner in this airport, and deserve the chance to earn your business for an airport meal with some flare. Great job Silver Diner and staff 👍
This spot was cool. The burger was good and the waiter I had was a gentleman. Pricey- but it is the airport.
Awesome! This is one of the best places at BWI! I highly recommend the filet medallions with Amish eggs, so good! Super friendly staff, my waitress was so nice and attentive. Also a reasonable price for good quality food, right around $30 including tip (depending on your generosity) for quality filet and eggs with a nice bowl of fruit, frizzled onions and potatoes. I highly recommend this place if you have a few minutes to kill at a sit down spot before your flight and youre looking for something a little better than the overpriced fast food norm usually found at most airports. Also noticed there were many vegan and substitute items on the menu for almost all the dishes for you not meat eaters.
Wow this place was spectacular! The oatmilk pancakes were outstanding and my son said the chicken tenders he had was the best, I was pleasantly surprised.
Great food. Charming and efficient server. Bacon to die for. Best Silver Diner of all.
The vegetarian chili was delicious. Service was a little slow, but Id eat there again because the food was great.
Busy little diner, didnt seem so eager to seat singles at booths instead of at the bar. Once seated, my experience grew exponentially. I ordered the flat iron steak with mashed potatoes, spinach greens and shoestring onions. For 18.00, this was a great meal. Best spinach greens Ive had in a long time and for a flat iron steak, it was very tender. The blue cheese topping made it even better! The service, other than the hostess was fantastic. Definitely on my short list!
The line to be seated took 10 minutes. Another 10 before the waitress even showed up to say hello. She was polite enough but no enthusiasm. They did seem understaffed and so we ordered as soon as she showed up. It was 55 minutes before our food showed up. Make sure you have time before trying to eat here. We had 1.5 hours and today that was pushing it.
Great service good prices. I just stopped in on my way back home from Las Vegas. Great breakfast
Always good food. I recommend going to a real Silver Diner if you get the chance. The BWI location is usually a little slow, but if you have time Id recommend it.
Cold fries and over dressed Ceasar salad. The manager was very understanding and did not have us pay for our meal.
I am full and ready to fly! I love old fashion diners that represent for the name DINER! Living in Miami, from NJ, you dont find many but let me tell you. If youre in BWI airport in Baltimore, eat here!Customer service was decent. We waited for about 7 min before someone greeted us, but the lady In the front was cleaning and apologized! Our waiter was kind, and did his job well! Now lets get to the food. The options made me smile! Gluten free options for my baby boy, pescatarian options for mom (I mean we are in the seafood hub)! Vegan, Vegetarian options as well!!My Milkshake cookies and cream) was delicious, it tasted like icecream, which it probably was lol! My crabcakes sandwich was so fresh, I mean no filler just meat and a nice charred outside! My coleslaw which I despised (I ate the entire cup)! It had fennel seeds and some type of mint! Yum!!! My husbands cheesesteak was ok but we are originally from the NJ/Philly area, we rate those real tough! And, our appetizer fried shrimp was so juicy and fresh with a delicious pepper relish! The tarter sauce was not my favorite, it was more on the sweeter side! But all in all, great food!
It took about 10 minutes before being seated. It wasn’t crowded, just really slow. So before you decide to sit down at the restaurant before your flight, make sure you have plenty of time. The menu specified all burgers are cooked to a pink medium unless otherwise requested. I requested medium rare. It arrived very well done, flavorless (hey cook, how about a little salt!) and with an unripe tomato. I asked for the fries well done, and they were not. So, the moral of the story is forget what you request, it’s coming out however the cook decides. The unsatisfying meal including an iced tea with no refills offered was $17 including a tip. Skip this established here in the airport.
Eaten here at this location quite a few times. Food is consistently good. Today right after I ordered, and before my food was even close to coming out they brought my check. A little odd, but they didnt push me to pay or leave right away after I finished eating or anything. They must do that for the people in a rush for flights. The skillet was good, properly cooked and there was plenty of food. Could of used a couple more butters but it kept me from eating both slices of toast which is better for my carb intake anyways.
Food delicious, well prepared, looked like the photo!
Dont walk by. Its better than it looks! Were vegetarian eaters, own an organic farm and sometimes are impossible to feed! This place surprised us with food quality and preparation. We asked and they changed both our orders! Will had the stir fry mango with udon noodles. Ask them to add more veggies!I had the Santa Monica omelette without the chicken. Perfect spice for me.We both had a very berry yogurt shake. Tons of fruit! Huge happy surprise! Careful: very filling! We ate too much!
We were a group of 13 travelers and Dudley, our waiter was exceptional! Thank You Dudley!
This is my favorite restaurant of all time. i beg my parents to take my on vacation just so i can have a layover at bwi and eat here. when i die sprinkle my ashes at the silver diner in the baltimore-washington international airport
Not sure what happened to my favorite breakfast place, but its a bit of a disaster. Waited 5 min for someone to seat me, finally had to go find a waiter, who found a hostess to seat me.. Sat for 10 minutes with no server whatsoever, asked another server if she could send someone to my table, she finally got somebody. Customers from the other side of the restaurant are walking around trying to find someone to pay their bill. Customer sitting across from me said he waited 10 min to be acknowledged. Been coming here 10 years, never had a problem like this. if youre in any kind of time crunch, definitely avoid!
Very disappointing. Had a lay over and was looking for some food and a drink. I asked what was on tap, and the waiter, Anthony hands me a menu to read. I read though it and order a beer and was promptly told they no longer had that beer. I ordered another and was told they didnt have that. I asked Anthony what they did have and then he told me what was on tap. Anthony then left and never returned. I had to flag down another server to order food and another beer.
Love the low fat vegetarian omelet. Delicious veggies and cheese with slightly fresh fruit. Also really enjoy the whole grain toast.I like sitting at the bar for faster service and to see the departure board in case anything with my flight changes.Unfortunately the service was a bit slower today so I only did 4 stars.Still highly recommend!Grits are good too :)
Friendly people. Yummy food.
Great place to send time in between flights or if you have a wait. Phone ports and electric outlets at every table. They dont rush you. Covid compliant. Nice stop in a busy day.
Normally 5 stars but our server was less than motivated. Seated for 20 mins before we were greeted. Another 20 mins for water. Ended up taking us almost 60 mins to finally get our order.
Food is great!! I had the bacon bleu burger with sweet potato fries.... excellent meal!! Burgers here are cooked medium unless you say otherwise, so keep that in mind when ordering. Food takes a little while to come out as its made to order, so give yourself a good 45 mins to an hour so youre not rushed to catch your flight. It was a bit crowded this time around, so the server didnt pay the attention you would get at a regular restaurant because they seemed short staffed. Definitely a good place to eat in BWI
I was very excited to eat here but after waiting in line to get in, I was seated for over 25 minutes and no one came to take my order. The table across from me was served, checked, and replaced and when the new people were waited on their waitress send shed send over my waiter and they still never came. I left without even getting a glass of water. A nearby table was also upset because their waitress took their check and credit card and never returned to their table.
Food always good! Service always extremely slow! Dont go if you dont have time to sit and wait for service!!
Great service. Very courteous bartender, though it was busy. She recommended some great drinks. Old Fashioned PB & J drink was great.
Horrible pathetic awful are mild words to describe the service and food. We were seated and were at our tables 104 minutes before we saw a single appetizer. Drinks were an hour and 45 minutes til we had our first drink. Food was almost 2 hours. The manager said he was going to comp our food, then just gave us a partial credit on the bill. Luckily our flight was delayed or we would have had leave before even being served.Suggestion, if you dont have the staffing then just dont open. Leaving people sitting there for 2 hours is a really bad option.
Went in with my service animal and had no issues whatsoever which is always refreshing and welcome. My server was so happy to see my dog and was so nice and accommodating to us. I got the vegan burger they offer and it’s honestly probably the best vegan burger I’ve had thus far. I have nothing but great things to say-the only real negative I could find would be that the food is overpriced but that’s airport food for you! 10/10 is would recommend.
Staff was friendly, our order was messed up, but staff fixed the error quickly. The food quality and taste was great
