Everyone was so helpful and kind, both the upstairs crew and the downstairs crew (they connect - I had no idea). They didnt have the item I needed, but definitely tried to see if anything would work and made a couple suggestions.

Love the UMBC bookstore... always new cool items ... especially logo stuff!

The store has a huge variety of shirts, drinkware, and school suveniers of all kinds. The people who work there are helpful and friendly.

UMBCs a wonderful school, and the bookstore has a great assortment of apparel to promote it! Got a great hoodie from here.Edit: It was a Blue84 brand hoodie with gold fabric and black lettering.

I visited the store recently as an Alumni to get some UMBC gear. I was disappointed ☹️.

You could probably find stuff for cheaper online.

Looks very nice. Some things are overpriced and some things are cheaper than you can find them elsewhere. The latter is much more rare than the former, but its pretty impressive considering that it is a university store.One time I was told to deposit my backpack while another person was let in, despite having a bag a larger size. Seems random, but made me feel weird. I understand why they do it, but it makes me feel squicky

Why is it a universal truth that universities exist to fleece students. Not only do they give free rides to athletes and charge tuition to others to cover them, no one even knows they exist. No one other than the athletes even know they exist unless they look at their bill breakdown...But then the school store is capable of charging $10 for a mechanical pencil. I mean a bic .07 pencil, not some drafting thing. Heaven help you if you need batteries. And they have the audacity to tell you to check your bag for fear you’ll steal a $100 sweatshirt.Word to the wise, they won’t do or say a thing if you just walk in with your bag and say “no thanks” to the checking.

Do not have weekend hours which sucks. Everyone is pretty helpful but you probably need to approach them first. They have a clearance area so thats good and some promotional days where you can get a discount based on different things. There is really no close by parking. You need to park and walk.

Switched out their Logo Bamboo cutting board for a handled Logo Acacia cutting board. The board appears to be a lower quality product at twice the cost. (If memory serves correct the bamboo was ~$20 while the new Acacia is ~$45). Not a good look for the school.Edit - Added 2 stars for the in-depth and transparent background response. I typically buy these as gifts for newly weds and was a little dismayed at the price increase, and visually the cutting board is not as appealing as the bamboo - but if it functions better, lasts longer, and maintain the sustainability as the prior board then it is reasonable to adjust the price.Thanks for the prompt and detailed response. Im not sure I will continue my tradition of giving these as gifts due to the new cost however I definitely appreciate the insight.

Great selection although the prices are high most of the time. However there are a number of sales through the year, but they may or may not be as beneficial depending on what you are purchasing. I would not recommend that you look for your textbooks here first as they are almost always full price or close to it.

5 Stars! Absolutely love the UMBC bookstore. Staff is extremely friendly, the merchandise is all great, and reasonably priced (*In my opinion.*) its hard not for me to come out of the bookstore empty handed! :)

Cool merch frlm UMBC, only problem is the mistrust for students with bags. The books section also tends to run out of almost every book really quickly. Wish they would plan further ahead for books and more options to have the books.

Books are not overpriced, you can get used ones and also rent them too.

This bookstore sucks.. the Staff are extremely rude. Ive had bad encounter both semester Ive been here. The first one was when I bought an Iphone charger. I tried to use the charger as soon as I bought it but it wasnt working. So literally 5 minutes after I bought it I tried to return it, but the manager wouldnt even hear me out. They have a policy that no returns on a charger however when I asked the manger to see the policy she takes to a corner (about 20 feet away from charger stand) and shows me a sign they had up. The Second was when I ordered a book online, at the time of the order they didnt have the book in stock. So I got an email about a week ago (over a month in the semester) letting me know they have the book, and if i didnt pick it up they would charge me $25. So I went to talk to them and let them know that I only received the email last week and that i didnt need it cause I had to buy another copy for my class. They said that they emailed me 3 weeks ago to pick it up. I told them i didnt receive any email, i check my inbox, my junk, archived, and even deleted emails, and not a single email was found. They wouldnt even listen to me they were so rude, and harshly told me it was sent.I go to school here and the only time I buy something is when i ABSOLUTLY have to. I wish the school would do something about it.

Its a campus bookstore, pretty self-explanatory, nothing out of this world. (Also, according to the owners response, staff is a little on the sarcastic side)

Books are well organized and they have some office goods like notebooks, writing tools, art tools, but they are little too expensive compare to Staples, Office depot, or Walmart.
