They did a good job...But you have to make sure inspection shops arent just trying to get over...Had to call locations state trooper to get my inspection pass..For a miner issue..No fog lights...And I didnt need the fog lights

I was able to get a same day appointment and had my state inspection done here. It was pretty fast (70 minutes), reasonably priced, and everyone was very nice. I waited there while my car was getting looked at; they offered me water several times and the waiting room was very comfortable. I appreciated them running through any other information I would need for my registration since I was moving from out of state as well. I plan on going back when I need an inspection again.

I just got my Maryland state inspection done today here and I couldn’t be more happy about an outstanding service provided by these group of people. I will be coming here very regularly because of the whole team who took time out to provide such an excellent service even though I initially didn’t have my wheel lock but they gave me time to bring it and still provided such a prompt service. I got a MD state inspection at Top Gear Auto Shop and am pleased with the service that I was provided. The staff were were friendly and helpful. The inspection took a bit over 90 minutes, and it is recommended that you call to make an appointment...mine was same day. I called around 10:30am on a Saturday and was told there was availability at 1pm.

I got my inspection done here and the whole team is great. They are so friendly and welcoming as well. It was the best car experience I’ve ever had to be honest. Just moved into the area and Top Gear does not disappoint! For me, they were easy to get a hold of on the phone, and at the shop they were professional, friendly, honest, and courteous. Even while I was waiting for my car in the lobby, I could tell they were trying to do whatever they could for the two phone callers, not talking down to them or gruff or anything. I totally recommend Top Gear. Im even going to return in a couple of days with another car.

Great they are open on weekends. My wait time for the inspection was reasonable and the service was honest, friendly, and a good price. They called me to tell me I wouldnt pinspection because of tint even though my tint is at regulation. Only to find they took nor 1 but both my tire locks. Not good service. Then laughed in my face.

They did my car inspection ( recommended by Tec World) and they were actually a bit cheaper than other places who are doing state inspections. They did things in a timely matter and was pretty upfront with the work needed to pass my inspection.

I made the mistake of getting my car inspected here. I had to pay over 800 in repairs, including a windshield replacement for a tiny chip on the driver’s side. Fair enough. But four years later and my windshield now leaks every time it rains. They say their work is only guaranteed for a year. Every windshield replacement company I’ve called has said their work has a 100% guarantee, indefinitely. Not this place. I have never heard of anyone having a leaking windshield before. So now I get to find another auto shop to fix a problem that was caused by this auto shop in the first place.

This shop was awesome. The only one I could find to do inspections on Saturday. I really liked that you could see into the shop from both the outside and from the waiting area. Very friendly staff. My vehicle did not immediately pass (window tinting) and they were able to get me to a local shop to remove the tint and reevaluate and pass the same day. Highly recommend!

I had a very good experience here. I called ahead asking for a basic Maryland state inspection. They originally told me the inspection would take 90 minutes; but, they were done in 40 minutes and I did not have to wait in line...very prompt and friendly service.It is always nice when a place is able to give you what you ask for in less time than expected.

I called for a MD state inspection on a Saturday. I REALLY needed it done fast! They took me right in. Did their job, offered me a cold drink, and finished really fast. They were warm in conversation and even complimented my car. I felt really great about the experience. I even heard them talking to a customer about a repair and was explaining all of the costs and why it needed repaired. Very open. When my warranty runs out, I will definitely come here for repairs. Thank You, Top Gear!Later I did find a circular scratch on my black painted wheel from where the mechanic took the tire off and rebalanced it. Not sure why they didnt cover it. Probably a clamp while spin balancing. Im changing my rating.

Misleading and you better have plenty of time to wait for your vehicle. The workers might come off as friendly, but by the time you get your vehicle looked at they will say that Everything is wrong with it !! They are definitely about getting as much money from you as possible.

Go somewhere else. 3/11/2019Was told Saturday to come back Monday to replace right control arm. Fine. I said I’d be there when they opened at 8am. They said great, it should take 60-90 minutes. Got there today at 8am, was then told they would have me out in an hour. I didn’t leave the shop until 10:45am. At one point, I overheard who i imagine is the owner/manager tell the staff person to stop work on my car and prioritize another one. That is fine, business decisions need to be made to the detriment of customers some times but at least tell me that it is going to take longer. I expressed my dissatisfaction upon payment. No denial that they pushed my car to the side to work on something else. No apology. No interest in trying to make things “right”.Long story short:- not transparent- not honest- terrible at setting proper expectations- zero emotional intelligenceThere are plenty of businesses that do inspections and repairs in the area with similar reviews. Go elsewhere.

Just dont go here to get an inspection. They nit-pick to try to get you to pay extra. Failed on window tint, said they were above 35%, I have paperwork from installation saying theyre 25%. Said one tire was too worn, measured it and well within regulations, only a year old. Theyll charge 400 bucks just for those? Keep looking if you want a honest mechanic.

Needed to get my car maryland inspected in a hurry. I called around and found this place..before they started the car he said it wouldnt pass because the dark tint on the car..He told me I can continue or take them off and come back.. I decided to take the tint off and come back.. When I came back they checked the car and everything passed.. It was hard trying to get this done on a Saturday..I am happy I found them..

DO NOT COME HERE. Came here for a state inspection. I paid $79.99. This auto shop just wants to make money off you because they fail your inspection and when we asked for an estimated cost of repair for the things that didn’t pass they said it was around $900. We went to another auto repair shop in Hyattsville and the car passed the state inspection there. Scammers to make money and they make it seem like they have your best interest in mind. Save your time and don’t come here.

I took my car to Top Gear for a state inspection and was extremely pleased with the service I received. The waiting room isnt spectacular but I was willing to deal with that to save $60 (the car dealer wanted to charge me $140 for an inspection!) The staff at Top Gear is very friendly and accommodating, and I ended up bringing my husbands car for an inspection too. Definitely recommend!

I been a mechanic for over 30yrs specializing in toyota and honda for several dealerships and now in my personal life.The Md state Inspection was such a joke the things we new was bad going in he did not fail lol, but did not hesitate to offer me a repair estimate for the items that he did fail. The customer service here is horrible. I came into ask for quote and the owner/worker sat down in the waiting chairs and preceded to have a personal phone call while I was waiting to be served. When I starting saying hello and looking to see if someone was working in the front office, he got off the phone, but continued to sit down and when he asked what I wanted. I thought he was someone waiting for their car to be finished. I said I had a few questions, he didnt attempt to move to the desk or anything. Didnt attempt to look anything up. I would never come here. I told him that his service was horrible and left

These guys don’t pass any vehicle inspections. They waste time and keep your car. Will find all sorts of things wrong with your car and you must pay them regardless if you pass or fail. Not nice people.

This Auto shop is A scam when it comes to Maryland State inspections! I went there twice and my vehicle still failed !😒After the first time I fixed Everything that was wrong with my truck for it to pass inspection I came two weeks later for the reinspection for them to tell me I have to get a brand new inspection because I went over a 1,000 miles which they failed to tell me that on my first visit !I came back for the third tome to get my truck fully inspected again to find out the First inspector missed alot of stuff wrong with my truck to make me fail AGAIN....... They have horrible customer service !I believe they keep failing ppl so that they can get more moneyAnd they lie they do not take an hour to do inspections they take 3 both times i was in that shop for 3 hrsOn the 3rd time I was the first one there at 8am and i didnt leave till 11Worst experience ever ! I will never return not even for my re inspection.......

They waste your time(if you opt to bring in your parts) and when they order for you thier prices are double...spoilt something that was ok before I brought in my car for inspection and asked me to be responsible for it, after going back and forth and i look at the time and i realize they wont do nothing about it. Only for 1of em to tell to take a decision asap as my car will be moved out. I was half way to get the part and was called that the boss said I should buy the whole part even when have confirmed with the guy that does the job(Melvin). Their reason was that they had no tools to fix the rubber that was spoilt. My candid advice for anyone who intends to visit this place...dont do more than inspection and alignment. Take your repair else where. Good thing about here is they offer you water and Melvin is a good guy too.

Its been four years since i have know Top Gear. Ever since then a lot of my relatives and friends have made their trips to the place.It was about four years ago. I remember everything vividly. It was a hot summer day. It seemed business as usual for the world except for me. I had several appointments to meet that day, a dentist appointment for my daughter, a regular health check up for my son, and a visit to my auto dealer. when I went to my car and turned the key on, it would not start. I kept trying for many times in vain. Worried and exhausted, i call my friend Suja. At once she gave me the no. to Auto Gear Shop. In no time they came and toed my car to their place. With all the courtesy I could have, they had me sit down on their lobby and in no time was it fixed.I was now afraid of the service fee they would charge, but no, it was nowhere close to what I had feared. It was way too cheap. Except for a little delay to my first appointment, I made all other appointments on time. Thanks to the extraordinary job of Top Gear. I told this story to a lot of my relatives and friends, most of whom are now Top Gears die hard fans.
