Absolutely enjoyed my entire shopping experience at Blick Art today. The cashier greeted my family right away and directed us to the hand sanitizer at the front of the store. I was looking for a airbrush kit for my sons birthday and they had everything we needed plus a large variety of other art supplies. The customer service was wonderful, thank you ladies for all of your help! Everything is labeled and sorted in a way that helps you grab all the supplies needed for your project. I love saving money so I was excited when I saw the clearance rack. At checkout I was offered a preferred member card that I could use right away. Looking forward to my next visit π
The customer service was exceptional. The store clerk was pleasantly helpful with everything I ask her and really knowledgeable about the store. This is our new found go to store for art supplies for my daughter who goes to Baltimore Design school.
They were very polite and helpful got everything I needed
I love this place! They have every thing you would need for art including ceramic supplies (limited but still there!) Which surprised me! They also have screen printing, block printing, spray paint, canvas material to make canvases, frames for canvases, spray paint, water color and acrylic paint. Everything you could imagine!!
Came in store zoned out and in a mood. ( Headphones in ) Staff still found a way to be engaging, helpful, and friendly. I was approached at a respectable distance and eye contact was made. I truly appreciate the customer service given.
Blick is always pleasant. Helpful but not too helpful staff. Good energy. Always a huge supply of materials
This place is amazing! My wife and daughter love coming here when we are in town.
Seemed like a pretty decent selection. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
I needed a can of spray to seal my acrylic painting, but everything was locked. I approached a lady near the register and asked βare you available to help me? She replied βI can be,β to which I added β what do you mean by βI con beβ either you are available or you are not.β She responded a second time βI can be.β The lady was not helping anyone, of course. She was just standing there staring at customers. She finally agreed to unlock the product. This kind of poor customer service, in my opinion, is either the result of lack of training or prejudice against Latinos. So that others know, I went to the store to purchase art supplies to help me βrelaxβ ten days after brain surgery at Johns Hopkins.
The staff at Blick Baltimore helped me out with a difficult return today. Even though I lost my receipt they were very patient and helpful with my request. Plus, everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and good-natured, and I am very thankful for the service I received there today. Special thanks to Ryan!
Manager and associate were very helpful and friendly. Store very clean and neat.
Had everything I needed to get up and running. Quality products and helpful staff
For it being my 1st time here everyone was extremely helpful and polite. They followed all the CDC guidelines and I felt extremely comfortable shopping there. I look forward to coming back.
This place had all of the art supplies I was looking for plus more and if they didnt have it in the store you can get it through there online store and some items was discounted if you ordered online. Very friendly and knowledgeable employees. Nice place to go if you are an artist of any kind.
It was good. I bought too many impulse purchases as usual.
Wonderful art supply store. Very helpful staff. Well stocked with high quality art materials.
Great art supplies and even better staff. Super friendly and helpful, even when Im sure the questions Im asking are stupid.
Recently the store has had sales on exactly what I intended to buy.
They were very helpful with getting everything off the list my friend sent me with. They didnt make fun of my ignorance π
My friend who is an amazing artist that also does tattoos needed to stop by. Great that its near MICA for the art students. Friendly staff and the store had great COVID protocols in place which makes you feel safe.
Girls were very helpful!!!
This art store has everything, good quality
Great customer experience the associates are friendly and very knowledgeable about the art materials and helping you find the right tools for creating your artwork for your business.
Had everything I needed except metallic paint I dont understand why that particular story doesnt carry metallic paint trying to paint my model truck and it didnt have it a little disappointed about that but other than that they had everything I needed...big Tom
Very friendly and helpful! Lots of materials. Erin there is especially exceptional!
Everything you need, friendly people and good social distancing rules!
Very nice employees .. Very helpful
Excellent selection, friendly and competent staff.
Great customer service! Very polite and kind
Excellent variety in all popular fields of fine art
Great for convenience yet not great on the price
Didnt catch the name of the employee who helped me find everything I needed during my first visit to this store but they were so kind and helpful. Had in stock exactly what I was looking for - will be returning.
My ABSOLUTE favorite supply shop. If you choose to shop here, get a membership card (its free, and there is almost always a sale on something). They have a wide selection from pens/pencils, light tables, clay, aerosol, paints, inks, brushes, canvases, etc. Yes, SHOP HERE.(FOLLOW MY ART PAGE ON INSTAGRAM @ChilloHaus)
This store was great and seems to be way more affordable than artist & craftsman supply Baltimore. Maybe it doesnt have as much hype as artist & craftsman but deserves more. If youre a starving artist (which are the only true artist) Blick is best. They will check their online store before checkout to make sure you get the lowest price. Thumbs up!
Though this is perhaps the smallest art supply store Ive been to, it is also the nicest. That may be because it is an art supply store, rather than a craft store, but if you are a visual artist, this place is absolutely for you. I did not have much money when I visited this time, though the selection is incredible. Will come back for sure when I have more to spend. The staff was also friendly, the store was clean and organized, and service at the registers was fast.
I love this art store! Everything you could want for your arts and craft projects! Now they have a textile section with everything from sewing notions to yarn! Check them out!
Staff was extremely helpful. The place was well organized and they helped me find a bunch of new art supplies. Would highly recommend signing up for their free membership card especially if youre a student. Its going to get you an additional 10 percent off!! Will definitely be going back.
I love this place, especially on Sundays. There is always some kind of deals going on in store. And than their price matching system is amazing. The customer service is awesome too, they are always so friendly and nice and willing to go that extra mile. Oh yeah best thing is parking is free on Sundays, probably the best thing ever.
Great selection. Very helpful Employees. Even with items they did not stock. I spoke to someone and they said they would look into getting them. All around great place to shop. Will be going back soon.
Lots of variety and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
You can pick up basic art suppliesβ’paintsβ’framesβ’markersβ’sketch & Painting booksβ’canvas & more.staff is nice and will try and help. Pricing is a little high but if you want product in hand then thats what it is. π
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Helped me understand what I was shopping for and informed me of special offers.Big selection, but if they donβt have it; their website has virtually anything youβd need!
People are v nice and helpful. Its pricey but it is an art store, ha. oh I also got a 10% student discount card for free
I love BlickArt. They always have the best prices, and they price match their in store items with their online prices. This is my go to store for all of my watercolor supplies. I only wish I could check online to see what they have in stock at my nearest store.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Wide variety of 2D art supplies that allows you to buy individual pen/pencil/paint colors. Very reasonably priced.
Clean and professional looking with nice staff that answered all my questions. If you sign up for the loyalty/members card you get a discount when compared to the online prices and I also got a student discount which was nice. If I lived closer I would come back more often.
Fabulous art store I remember when they used to be called urtech? something like that and its very affordable got everything you need the staff was great Im glad to see it still there getting ready to go visit it soon and buy some charcoal pencils and faber-castell pencils
Hard to decide between Blick and Plaza, given theyre pretty close in the immediate. However, the location of this one near Read St does offer a few more parking options than Plaza does over near Cathedral. Just be careful if you park in Rite Aids parking lot, as they apparently do tow people. Theyre both decent supply shops, but check the sales before deciding. Also not sure if Blick offers the student discounts like Plaza. Also, has 2 or 3 bars, and a liquor store, on the same block, in case all your creativity has worked up a need a beverage.
Customer service was great. The staff was helpful and courteous. I was surprised to see that it was no longer named Utrecht, but atmosphere was unchanged in my opinion. I will be back.
This place is better than Michaels
There is not a block you will not love.. and this one you will love very much and the staff there is Amazing...
Ive been wanting to check out this art store for awhile & Im so glad I did. Excellent selection & lots to look and oo and aw at. Will be back soon!
Everything is so organized and neat! A great selection of art supplies.
Very highly recommended, nice Krink mops and markers
Great store all the art supplies you need at a reasonable price
I found all the art supplies I needed for my art classes like a utility kit, micron pens, prisma drawing pencils, paint, and other art stuff. Just ask someone who works there, they will be glad to help you find what you are looking for. Plus, they have sales on art supplies and the stuff is discounted so i day get your moneys worth.
Friendly customer service, always willing to help and find products for you. Knowledgeable on recommendations and similar material choices. Would definitely go again because the prices are pretty reasonable aswell.
Customer service is amazing. The associates are very knowledgeable in various forms of art
No issues other than they didnt have the items (Rit Fabric Dye) i wanted in stock except the black one. They have a lot of stuff. The rewards card is very helpful. The place feels a bit odd.. but all the employees were nice and helpful. Its also an accessible store for those with wheelchairs as the first way to get in is a ramp. The only issue would be the door and some of the weird angles to get things. I would come back in here for art supplies even if things are a bit pricey!
I LOVE this place! For all the reasons others have stated. Maybe other Art Supply stores may offer a larger variety, but none can match the staff here. They are the best. Ever.
My 1st choice for art materials
This store is great! They are always stocked well and the staff is extremely helpful. On street parking is usually available right outside the front door.
Great place to by art supplies. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are looking to buy quality supplies this is a good place to shop in my opinion.
They were all so sweet and helpful when we visited. 10/10 would visit again :)
What dont they have art supply related, amazing staff
Nice art store my daughter interviewed for a job there. Its small and gives personalized service unlike the big box stores.
Very helpful and considerate, especially with students. And they are open on Sundays! Good for procrastinators like myself
The most helpful staff anywhere in Baltimore, especially in art supply stores. THey have helped me with my limited budget and all so far have had extensive knowledge of the art supplies they are selling. I just love this place!!!
My favorite art store
Love this store. Staff is very helpful.
Friendly staff and good art supplies. Some items can be a little high; however, their web match will bring the items to a more competitive range.
Very nice arts and crafts store would recommend way before I recommend Michaelsstaff was really nice and knowledgeable about the materials and the way about other items in the store
They are always friendly and helpful. Its well organized.
I went to Blicks for some Tombow markers and was confused by their prices. When you look at their website it leads you to believe that going to the store will get you a comparable or better price, but I was told that the prices you see online are for home delivery only, and I also believe that the prices you see online are only if you buy a certain dollar amount of items. The confusion was enough to discourage me from going back to the store. Staff is helpful and the selection was typical for an art supply store, though I was disappointed that the Michael Smith paint sample cards werent for sale, so I ended up needing to go up to Plaza Art store in Towson instead. Really not worth the trip if you dont live in the city.
Staff is always friendly and store is kept well stocked.
The workers are very nice and they have s huge variety of art items to choose from!
Large selection of art products at a great price!
People were so welcoming & very accommodating. Willing to help at a moments notice.
Prices are competitive, the staff is helpful and experienced.
Good staff, clean and tidy. It is a bit pricey, but nothing to complain about
Great Art Supplie Store!
Great deals that fit my high schoolers budget.
Gentleman who helped me was so enthusiastic!
Helpful staff and decent selection.
Great for purchasing my art supplies while im in town but other than that i would purchase them at Hobby Lobby in GA better prices there.
I always loved this store they have all your art supply needs
Lots too choose from. Great for all artist
Nice store for art supplies. Reasonable prices.
Great display, very clean and bright. Employees are helpful and engaging.
This is the best store OF ANY SORT to be found in Baltimore. The staffers here are THAT good.
The upbeat and artsy staff along with a range of quality supplies make this the place for painters, sketchers, etc.
Great Sale! Cant wait to go back
GO TO ARTS & CRAFTSMAN ON NORTH AVE. if you value naturally good-hearted customer service and great prices without the possibility of running into with THE hangry diva employee who cant stop texting on phone while feeding white lies to customers. I wont spend a single dime with Blick Art in-store or online. One of two employees working (chubby male/hipster glasses) was simply rude during my first (and last) visit to store. Store policy states it automatically matches your in-store purchase total with its online counterpart (S&H included), however, I knew such was never completed (chubby male felt the need to get smart when I asked for clarification, knowing policy was either a joke or he was without the vocabulary capacity to express knowledge of policy fully.)I am betting on the latter. Went home, replicated in-store order online and after taxes and shipping, online order was nearly $10 cheaper. He was ultimately wrong or ill-informed. The black gentleman working was patient and extremely helpful. Chubby, possible East Asian boy was wrong, rude and on his phone when not running his mouth. Suffice to say, I returned entire order and took my business elsewhere: ARTS & CRAFTSMAN where my first time was perfect and I met highly knowledgable and engaging employees. tl;dr
The staff isnt very friendly. Im not sure if it was me or not. I purchased a few items one in particular was 12 sheets of 98lb paper. When I got to the register two women had to ring me bbq up I had only those 12 sheets of paper and 3 copic markers and a portfolio. So I thought that was strange. When the first cashier saw my items she began counting the paper thats pretty normal I mentioned I had 12 just to let her know. Then second cashier seemed to ignore me and got the papers from the first cashier and begin to spread all 12 out on the counter. She said she liked to count them all out when they are all similar colors*however the colors ranged from cream to tan to beige to grey to white...). I thought this was wierd but I didnt say anything. After she scattered all my papers on the counter she left and let the first cashier finish the transaction. I felt like she was suggesting I maybe trying to steal paper. Which is crazy considering they are .46cents a piece. Im not trying to throw the race card here but I felt very uncomfortable with two people ringing up 12 sheets of paper 3 copic markers and a portfolio seemed like over kill. The store was also half empty as as the second cashier saw me walk around plenty of times she never asked if I needed help. Maybe its just a bad atmosphere Im not sure. But the dc store is much better and the staff is very friendly helpful and diverse. Just saying. Ill keep shopping at the dc store. I feel welcomed there.
Good place for all artist supplies..people who work there are very helpful
Very helpful staff and well stocked shelves.
Friendly helpful service.......excellent assortment of supplies! An artist dream!
