My experience at this Sephora was completely uncomfortable and unprofessional. I walked into the store and immediately was greeted by a man glued to his iPad I saw a clipboard attached to their hip with employee information for everyone to read. The only good thing about my experience is the employee who was helping me she’s was very sweet and knowledgeable and even that was rudely interrupted by a pushy blonde woman who continuously harassed me about purchasing things I was not interested in and seeing other reviews I am not alone in my experience. I felt very attacked and it was racially charged. I only went in for eyeliner and she tried to sell me a body set like make it make sense. I will NOT be coming here again I’m going to ULTA.
Went in with my wife because she will not go to the Valley Plaza alone. The location is the drawback.Sephora is clean and well kept, staff is friendly and helpful.
My daughter had an appointment to get her makeup done for her homecoming dance. They started her but stopped and left her sitting there for another hour and a half before I called to complain. Reason was they only had 2 makeup artists because the others were on lunch… So, it took 2.5 hrs just for makeup. Horrible service.
I was here to buy my girlfriend some makeup brushes for her birthday. As luck would have it, the Sephora line of brush kits was on sale. So not only did I save $$$. I got a great high quality brush set! Once I had made my selection, I turned and started to walk to the cashiers. This is when I realized how long the check-out line was. It was long(Wish I had a lawn chair long)! But I had to have the brushes. So I got in line. Next thing I knew I had my brushes in a bag and was walking out the door. Their cashiers keep that line moving! Very pleased with the sense of urgency they displayed at moving the customers through and still giving a high level of customer service! Great visit.
If this was three years ago, then I would say Sephora is a great place to shop for makeup without worrying about somebody thinking you’re going to steal. The last few times I went in, I didn’t leave out with nothing because they were watching my every move and all I wanted to do was find my products, purchase my products and go. I’m sick of being racially profiled at a high end store because of the perception of black woman. Please not all of us steal!
Was extremely racially profiled today ! I posted it on social media and many people are saying they have experienced the same thing here. I will be calling corporate tomorrow. Jolyn was the manager there today and she kept leaving her register to come watch me. Yadira also kept watching me from the outside while letting people in! Once I finish getting help from a wonderful team member named Sabrina they called security (rent a cop) as soon as she left me. I spent over $400 there today they will never get another dime of my money and I will make sure all 13k of my social media followers know know not to shop at this location!
This was place get 0 starsI can’t stand Emily she is very rude.I can’t believe you have someone like her working for you !Worst experience ever!very ghetto lady very loud and you can’t even talk to her she yells at you.I came into the store to return an item that they sold to me when it was used already she told me I can’t return it when I bought it the same day realizing it was used an hour after I left. She started yelling at me.I will let all my friends and family know not to shop here anymore!!
Loved the way I got help from one of the employees here. Asked for products to help my oily skin and they recommended the serum for pores and the Bobby Brown moisturizer/primer. Been using it for a week and my skin has been feeling great!
I was confronted by the aperent manager... first impression extremely agressive rude.. did not bother to ask anything about the situation and with out us knowing what was going on threaten myself my friend and my little friend who is a minor... extremely unproffesional and inpersonally will never be going back this this place while they keep hiring unproffesional unethical and people with no cuatomer service... i boycot sephora for life... thank you ...
Awesome experience! I came here and the staff were very friendly! If youre looking for makeup advise, definitely the place to shop!
I wish the employees made more of an attempt to help the customers. I dont go in often, but when I do, most employees are being loud and obnoxious while carrying on their own private conversations that should be saved for after work. I had one girl be very helpful, but thats the only reason theres not one star.
Employees are SUPER helpful bordering on almost harassing lol. But they were super nice and did help me find what I needed. It is so pricey though. I just got a translucent powder, brow brush and brow pencil and it was 80 bucks!
Haley did an excellent job at color matching my sister’s foundation for her wedding. She was extremely knowledgable and followed COVID precautions making us feel safe. Thank you again, Haley!
Everything is very clean and organized..theyre super nice and they try to help find whatever you need and answer all your questions..
I love going to this specific store, the employees are so knowledgeable, I am always happy with my purchase and how polite and friendly the staff are.
Sephora has never been better than during covid times. The staff just has so much more time to be helpful and it makes for the best experience ever
The people who work there dont let me look!;! They kept bothering
Very good experience
Felt very uncomfortable when an employee made a harmful claim, a manager came up to us and said that we made a derogatory claim towards an employee, when such a thing never happened, we complained to the manager that it is very unprofessional for an employee to hear a private conversation and make up something that was never said, we complained that that was very harmful to us and the manager said to imagine how the employee felt, which I do understand but it’s very awkward to be a cussed of discriminating an employee when we never directly spoke to the person or talked about them, Very rude and unprofessional
Love this store, best selection of makeup
This place always has the perfect makeup foundation to match my skin tone. The workers are always very helpful in finding just what you need. Its a little pricey sometimes but worth it.
Exchange with help of knowledgeable staff went smoothly.
Excellent
I was looking at the men’s cologne for my husbands birthday and a associate came up to me. His name was Jose and he mentioned that he was new but I would have never known that he was new by how knowledgeable he was with the products! He was very wonderful and helpful! Thank you Jose for your help
Nice
Very helpful and knowledgeable about products.
Wonderful products!
Best customer service! I love coming here because everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. I wish they had a bigger selection like they do in the Los Angeles locations but from what I’ve seen Bakersfield girls don’t spend a lot of money on their appearance so I get it.
Emily and Nena helped me out tremendously!!! I needed a few things for my trip to New Orleans and they went out their way to make sure I’d got everything I needed. They’re the best!!!!!
No matter how many times I shop at this specific location, I leave with such a bad attitude and it is due to their staff. May I advise to who ever is in charge of this store the manager, supervisor down to the business owner himself! Please invest on a customer service class for your staff it will be great for business and everyone in general. And to the employees if being a makeup artist or whatever you may consider yourself is not your ideal job go find one that most suits you. Please do us a favor as a customer and at least be etiquette or the bare minimum of smiling when someone has a question or needs your professional help. Thank you.
Great quality makeup products. The staff is very kind and helpful.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great makeup selection
Great service, and reps. In this sephora really know their stuff. I got color matched and instructed on applying foundation
Amazing makup but the price will make u faint
I went to the Sephora in Bakersfield to get my makeup done for engagement pictures. And Alexis did an amazing job! She made me laugh and I felt so comfortable with her doing my makeup for the special day.
Awful customer service. There have been several experiences where employees ignore me or friends when we ask for help and times when employees roll their eyes at us. It seems most times we ask a question we are met with a rude response and given minimal help.
Sometimes its a good experience with great customer service and then another time everyone has an attitude and I feel like Im being followed as if Im stealing so I gave it three stars
It was the first time I went to this store. Ive been to Ulta before and they have been always nice and helpful, and I had the same expectations from this store. I got there and they only had like a couple of people helping on the floor, and the rest were at the register or in the back. When one of them finally asked me if I needed help, I told her that I indeed needed someone to help me find my shade, and then she ignored me after I responded. It looked like she did it on purpose, because she just stayed there and did nothing. I waited a lil bit there, in case she was busy and she would help me when she was available, but nothing happened. There was only one guy helping other people, and the rest where just standing at the register. There wasnt a lot of people so they werent that busy. I dont think I would go buy anything else there unless it is absolutely necessary. Compared to Ulta, this store has a really bad customer service. After this I went to ulta and spent 150 dlls I would have spent at this horrible store, so I am glad I took my business elsewhere.
Customer experience is really bad here!! Trust me, you are better ordering online. Use to shop here for my wife. Not anymore.
Worst attitudes ever... A majority of them dont even look like they know how to use makeup and yet feel the need to judge anyone who walks in in a hoodie and pants.. How I am dressed doesnt speak for what I spend in this store..
Great service and great products. Organized and clean store.
Honestly had to deal with the RUDEST lady here. Her name was Sherry and she’s one of the many reasons Sephora has a bad rep.
How they see you theyll treat you... I not sure if that has happened to other customers but when I go with my old clothes, no makeup on and a hat, I feel treated very differently than when I go all dressed up. I was at the store looking for a concealer, setting powder, setting spray and foundation and the beauty consultant didnt even bother looking in the drawers to see if they had the shades I was looking for. As she walked, I checked myself just to make sure and save myself a trip to the mall again, and BAM there they were, the foundation and concealer I wanted. In any moment did I acted rude or arrogant to the beauty consultant. Maybe she just wasnt having a good day in which case I find unacceptable. Ive worked in customer service before and I never let my personal business get to me while I was at work. Anyhow, There went a sale out the door.
Everytime I go in this place all the employees that are standing around not doing nothing but talking among themselves, they dont greet you or make you feel comfortable about asking about a product or about how to do your make up. They simply dont give you the time of day! These employees are there to discriminate who walks in, because you can see right away when they approach the super model looking customers and that aint right. We go in there with confidence, so who gives you the right to make people feel that they are not worthy to walk in sephora or worthy of your time! You guys might train your people how to apply makeup or how to make someone look beautiful, but what Sephora needs to be training all their employees even the high management is skills on how to treat a human being and how not to discriminate!.I will never step foot here again and I will give my business to NYX who are very much trained to care about people first.Sephora should take their employees to NYX so they can get tips on customer service!
They have great products. I found exactly what I was looking for
Great products. I easily found what I was looking for.
My daughter likes to shop here.she loves the makeup.
I went in to buy my wife a gift and the employees there we’re very helpful they didn’t have kat von d in stock but before I can ask if I can order it online the dude had already pulled it up and helped me purchase it I recommend coming here if you want a gift for that special somebody
Gotten less helpful MORE EXTRA (more worried about their presson nails & glue on lashes than helping anyone find anything. And a sample? FORGET IT!?! YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO & ASK 4 A TOOTH. GREEDY GREEDY GREDDY TSK TSK TSK
Awesome customer service. Helped my wife a lot
I asked for help with becca foundation to choose a color had me wait for over 15 min I asked again they didnt even apologize they just said they are coming with an attitude...then the guy I guess was on break comes in and still takes time to come over to help, meanwhile I was not told the employee was on break I could have come back later or simply have another employee help me, by this time I figured ive have been patient this long might as well wait to at least find out what color of foundation my skin type needs and ill just buy it somewhere else..that is exactly what I did and got awesome service inside MacysDont come to this store employees are unprofessional and rude! Save your time and go to Ulta or anywhere else but this store!
Nice stuff to treat yourself. Staff is friendly.
Very helpful polite staff!
Love it
Great makeup selection. Employees were a little rude.
Its a basic sephora nothing special
Every time I’ve gone into this Sephora I’ve had poor service. Today I went in to get my brother a Cologne set for Christmas. I was waiting for an employee that was helping a customer. But than I saw another employee walk by and I said “excuse me, can you help me” she flat out ignored me and walked away while the first employee that I was originally waiting for saw and told me she had to help other people because there was a waiting list. She said it to me in a very rude tone. Finally I found a nice employee named Angelica. I told her what happened and to see if she could get me the rude employee’s name that ignored me but her friend didn’t want to give it. Which isn’t professional at all. I was very upset with my experiences in Sephora. The ladies at the Sephora in JCP are way nicer and helpful. I will not be going back to that Sephora again.
So amazing I got a sample and there was amazing customer service I hope to go again soon
Went in for the 45minute makeover (with 50$ min purchase)NEVER AGAIN. EVER. COULDNT PAY ME TO DO IT AGAIN.This chick didnt listen to a word I said. She caked makeup on my face, left it at least 2 shades darker than my fair skin tone, ended up almost orange. My eyebrows and lips were a literal mess. I very nicely told her several times that my makeup was too dark, too thick, bla bla bla. Finally told her that I HATED it.She still made me purchase the 50$ worth of the worst makeup Ive ever had. Im returning it tomorrow, and will never ever let one of these experts touch me again.
Nice make up products
I shop here for the things that I cant get at Ulta. The store is always busy and its difficult to find an employee to answer your questions but the staff is knowledgeable and Ive not ever left without what I was looking for.
ABH pomade in caramel sample and said will dont give samples only for make over .
Ashley was the one who helped me and i loved it! She was very nice and i ended up buying a kat von D foundation. I just wish sephora would change the policy they have on where employees can move and that way theyd be able to help customers.
Customer service is terrible. I ALWAYS have a bad experience when Im there, no one ever asks if I need help, Im the one that has to walk around and ask for help because otherwise they all just stand there doing nothing. The only person who helps is one of the guys named Frankie. Hes always so great!
Screw the customer service.Kat Von D is the reason I go there.i wont stop buying from sephora because i like that it has different brands and the lighting is somewhat good. i like the black and white color scheme. i like purchasing kat von d and urban decay products in particular. one time i did get an allergy to a clinique foundation but they didnt mind when i went to return it. I like to shop online when i dont want to go to the store.i think that the service is whack, though.Hi, do you need help looking for anything? a Sephora employee asked.Yeah just looking for a contour pallette... its hard to find a good shade for me cuz im so pale, (etc.)She asks do i want cream or powder? I say powder and she recommends Anastasia, which ive never tried but have heard its quite popular. She points it out and says I cant leave my area but you can check it out right here. She leaves. I was confused as to how to try on the different shades on the palette. And she just leaves me there to stare at a filthy palette. Because the shades look so smeared, im just kind of scared to try it on.I move around to another brand, Marc Jacobs. It doesnt look so bad, so I decide to try it on with just my fingers. Next to me are three sephora employees just chatting it up. One of the employees was talking about her upcoming wedding. Neither of them offer to help me try it on. Maybe I just looked really shabby that day but I never seem to get satisfying results when I ask for help, anyway. I see makeup as a trial-and-error thing. Anyways, I wasnt sure about the Marc Jacobs palette but because I felt the customer service was whack, I ended up trying out MAC for the first time and found a nice contour palette at MAC, and splurged on brushes and foundation. The lady at MAC even let me apply the makeup for myself after she applied it to make sure i could imitate the look she created.
I love coming here for my stuff but hate the fact they hire girls that are rude and think they are better than you to even help you .....
Helpful and friendly employees.
No one availible to get help from whe on store and then they are trying to do too many things for diffrent people at the same time. Even the cooperation when calling the store stinks.
I had never been there before so went in very excited and eager to try it out, they were so rude to me!! They ended up selling me a color that is WAY too dark for me, I refuse to go there ever again.
Rude, arrogant, and bad customer service. Rather buy makeup from the dollar store than deal with the people who work at this location. If you’re in need of something from Sephora, go to the JCPENNEY one or shop online. Not worth your coin.
Great Customer Service
Only got samples! So expensivvve
I asked for a sample from the skincare section, the lady who attended me looked like she doesnt get payed to do her job.
