Very nice updated and more modern than the fossilized version. First time coming here in 16 long years. I am glad BC is updating their buildings and getting new library and so on. It makes sense since this college has been around for 118 years.

The books are way overpriced and when you make an online order they pick the wrong edition. Staff is friendly, which gives them 2 stars.Just get your books off amazon. They are less than half off.

This is a great place with more than awesome books. They have music, including vinyl records, hardware to play and store the records, awesome toys, and a coffee shop. Not to mention the customer service is awesome.

Rude staff

You can buy or rent books online or come in and buy or rent, but on several occasions I saw the line to pickup books from online purchases always long, best to come in the morning. There are pros and cons of this business pros. you can budget with renting the book, they have all the school supplies or school related materials you need such as a printer, pencils,pens,notebooks binders etc., they do give refunds for whatever reason and they have just about any course book most of the time, good snacks and drinks cons: some books are pricey and you cant rent them only new, sometimes you cant get a refund if you wait to late to call in for a refund order, takes a couple of days before you can get your refund, long wait time in line, the communication that your book is ready should be more organized or another set up for this whole online pickup purchase, customer service needs work and faster service with the lines. Overall, I think it Is okay store, helpful to get what you need for your course/courses.

It has many books/materials and other goodies to buy. Some of the books are expensive though. The workers there are very friendly.

I have yet to go into the BC bookstore and not have a problem with the so called student employees. They have been rude, lazy, and condensing to me as an adult buying my college students books. It makes me wonder how they treat their peers? If this is the best this institute can do in providing our next generation in customer service training we are in a world of hurt!!!!

Nice people, good service, but they were late getting the store open.

Unorganized waste of time. They will make you wait in their long line multiple times. If you do not have the time to wait they will refuse to give your book back to you and ignore you. Very rude and unprofessional kids working there that can not understand that not everyone has time for their incompetence.

The line was long, but I expect that at the beginning of a semester. The store was organized, well-stocked, and the staff was helpful.

Great service

I can see that they are trying to be efficient during the first few weeks, but we are going into the 3rd week of the semester and books are still on back order. The online ordering is convenient but order fulfilment is not great. Also, about 7 students were standing outside the bookstore at 12:03 and it was closed. Turns out they changed their ours from 2pm to 12pm but neglected to update their hours. Incredibly inconsiderate seeing as a few of us had children with us and others had come from out of town. I called the store and they didnt seem concerned about updating their hours. If you can rent or buy used directly from a student do it to avoid this place.

They do their best for what they have... it really needs to be bigger and they need to change polices. Also not all of their isbns are correct.

They have the greatest customer service, and they assist you when you cant find specific book that youll need. I 100 percent reccomend this bookstore for any College students.

Save your money rent your books online. This place has horrible customer service and does not price match as advertised. They would not price match a rental from Amazon because they did not have any used books. When Amazon sends books they can be either used or new. I also purchased a book there and asked when my deadline was to return the book and the cashier told me the 27th of January. I went in the 24th and they told me I could not return the book and to come back the 29th and they might purchase it at a lower price. SAVE your money and pre-order your books online. I have never had a problem with Amazon or Chegg. Will never step foot in there again. They dont care about the students all. They just care about selling you highly marked up books and items.

The wait is ridiculous during the first month of school (2rh). Staffing should be increased to accommodate for volume of customers during the first weeks of school.

For selling books they are awful.They are so slow.

I went in the book store to buy a scantron for my test today, unfortunately I was 3cents short and the boy could not sell me the scantron. It is absolutely rediculous that that employee/student couldnt bypass 3 cents!!! Very upsetting!

They usually have the books you are looking for. The prices can be a bit pricey compared to other places but they are always in good condition. They have long lines very often.

The Bakersfield College Bookstore is a little pricey and service is slow, but they have what you need. Get everything you need early off of Amazon or Online. Save yourself the headache.
