I have always been an avid reader so Barnes and Noble has always been a staple in my life. This B&N is clean and has nice employees. The have the coffee shop inside like most B&Ns do and a good selection of books. I wish they had a bigger selection of sci-fi and fantasy but otherwise, their selection is still good. I love their big area for children because its an inviting area to go to for starting readers and they have a great selection of puzzles and non reading activities for them as well. Overall, good place to find a good book! Would definitely recommend!

I’m love this book store so much. My teachers discount card had expired and I didn’t have a current ID with my school because of covid and everything not operating as usual. They honored my card regardless of that which was great. An excellent selection of books as well. My son found a war hammer book to read and I found a couple books I have been wanting to read. We left happy.

I have always enjoyed coming to the only bookstore in town. They rearranged the place around and it felt more inviting and open. The staff was really friendly and extremely helpful. This place never disappoints.

The staff are very knowledgeable on where their products are in the store. Very friendly, prices are fair, pretty good selection of books. Kind of lacking on some hobby books but over all good selectiob

I wish Bakersfield had better options. In reality, this store not only likes to constantly rearrange, they also dont carry many best sellers or popular authors. If youre into anine or religion, I assume they have that, but not much else.

I love Barnes & Nobles, but this location I had one of the most poorest experiences. I was looking for a book that states that it is in stock and the two employees I talked to were rude and unhelpful. Im glad this is not my local B&N Ill never come back to this location even if Im ever in this area again. All in all unprofessional employees.

Love going to look around at the many books, magazines,CDs and movies...wish I had unlimited funds I could enjoy more!

First time, to this place here in Bakersfield. Great knowledgeable staff. Theres even a coffee place there for you to kick back and have some reading done. Loved it, my kids loved it well be back for sure.

Fantastic place to come browse through books and have a sip of coffee. Definitely peaceful and quiet. The associates there are very friendly and welcoming.

I love the bookstore. I love having a physical book in my hand. Especially when you need to or want to write in it. You cant write on ebook.

First off, the staff is excellent - pleasant and knowledgeable. Its also very convenient to do purchases online and pick up them up at the store. That, along with the teacher discount has been super helpful getting AR books for my students ASAP.

Since quarantine, my husband and I have been more into books and Barnes and Noble is the place to go. The safety measures that they are taking are comparable to that of a bigger city like LA its great. We also have the ability to call and ask about stock and can check online easily for a book in store. The customer service is excellent and everyone there is so nice and willing to help. My bookshelf has definitely filled up this year and I need a new one.

So many books, will order what they dont have for you. lines move fast. Its easy to.get stuck here looking at books so they have made it comfortable. I paid 15$ for the membership and now I get 10 percent off purchases and with how much me and my wife read it paid off in 2 weeks

Great customer service and found the book I was looking for. Always nice being able to still walk into a store and pickup a book.

I take my daughter here once monthly. We have both rediscovered our love for reading during this pandemic. The staff here are always so knowledgeable and friendly. Ive never had a question they couldnt answer.

Rarely doesnt have the book I need. A clean, quiet store with a vast and well organized variety of books. Staff are always happy to help and know their way around the store like their own hands. If I lived closer, Id come here to read.

Clean store but was disappointed with a staff member. I was skimming through a box of books on the floor when approached by a employee. Asked if she can help me with a harsh attitude. Told her no thank you. She responded back with I couldnt pick out a book from there. When asked why she said I have to put them back not making sense to me I asked oh are they reserved or bought? No, I just have to put them away and you cant grab them. With awe I said I would like to purchase this book. Rolling her eyes made my experience uncomfortable. A different approach or a tone down would of been acceptable. Now I wont be giving them my business and driving to Lancaster for my future purchases.

Amazing place to learn and grow, you have the world at your fingertips, this is the only one in Bakersfield and it is very clean and always smells good, they have a great Starbucks, they have a huge selection of books magazines, childrens books, music, a little bit of everything

Super clean and wide isles. Plenty of stock and a great variety of brain teaser puzzles. I was looking for a puzzle gift to place $$ inside (for 22 year old birthday) and found several good options. Social distancing line was long on Saturday morning, went back close to 5 pm on Monday and no line.

It seems like spaced everything & really made the store more open, everyone maintained social distancing & the staff was very helpful & friendly, most definitely will be going back.

So much book to choose from babies name, cookbook, Study aids, Religion and etc.They have Starbucks inside the store too.

Ive always enjoyed B&N clearance book section....its a mystery grab for me to try new things just by looking at what covers attract my eye....I hardly go any more in this digital age but when I do its always a good atmosphere

Very friendly staff! They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Also, love the Cafe baristas. The record and book selection is wonderful as well, very diverse and if they dont have it they will order it for you. Dont forget to grab the $5 books near the Cafe with the purchase of a cafe item, theyve been excellent selections thus far.

They did not have the book i was looking for and I was not able to order it

It was fine. Only 2 cashiers on duty the day before Christmas though? I would think they could afford to hire more staff.

We waited for the doors to open. We were surprised to see someone entering without face covering. Come to find out, she is employed their and eventually had her clear plastic face shield. Everyone inside was face covered. We had a good leisurely time looking for our eventual stack of books we purchased.

Well stocked with all your favorite print. Paperbacks of every genre for all ages. Huge selection of periodicals, games, toys, calenders, cards, and collectibles. Friendly staff and quick check-out. With no toy stores around it could be a new go to store for Christmas.

The ambience is calming and you smell coffee beans because of the Starbucks that is inside. They always have a good collection of supplies for writers, and stationary addicts. Their prices are always great, and they always have changed the layout to accommodate the pandemic and social distancing is taken into consideration. The staff is always super friendly and very helpful if need assistance. I always enjoy my visits to this store. The con is that they close early now so no more late night visits, and sometimes they run low on pens and writing supplies, and their selection for writing supplies are very minimum, but they have alot of online products so thats a pro.

Their stock is little or none. Order online. Really nice, love a bookstore.

I love bookstores, and I have always loved Barnes and Noble. However, they messed around with the layout and it bothered me. The store is now harder to navigate and a bit cluttered feeling.The staff is always fast and fairly friendly. The store is always clean. It was so great just to go in there and walk around with my two kiddos.

Starbucks inside is nice and love the Fantasy section....always has the latest book trends and series.

Very well stocked. Clean and organized. Helpful staff available.
