We had a great experience at this showroom. The owner is having staffing issues, just like everyone else in the country. Yes, there is a line. Yes, there is a wait. The store is stocked with all the packing products you could ever ask for. The pricing is better than purchasing boxes at Home Depot. If you go, carry your patience and understanding; more importantly compassion for small business owners. They are trying.

Continues to be the worse place to buy propane in Austin. Every time you come here it’s like you are asking for a close personal favor to buy propane. Waited for 20 min for a guy who “will be right there”.

Shady odometers that run double the mileage. I rented a cargo van and drove at most 20 miles. Somehow the odometer reading was 40 miles and got charged twice the fee for a 3 hour rental.

Poor service for propane fill up. Waited a long while outside near the fill up station in 100 degree weather. Rang the bell multiple times. Went inside and the employee indoor clearly saw I was here for propane and told me to come back another time. I thought this was a 7-day propane fill up. Waste of time and rude that no employee came out to greet and inform me right away. Sweaty and now without propane. Will go somewhere else.

Unbelievable, I returned the U Haul one hour before the arranged time (7PM), and the day after I get an e-mail with the latest charges saying that I returned the truck at noon of the day after. These people are PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS. If you need a U Haul go to the Burnet location!

There were 2 staff unable to manage the long line of customer when I went for check out. They did not explain anything about the truck. It took 30 minutes to get the truck despite online check inWhen I went back, it was 7:55 pm. The door was open so I went in. After asking if anyone there for several minutes, the same guy who was in morning came and asked how come you are inside? How you came in? I said the gate was open and I entered from the gate. He took the keys from me and walked me to the door to get out. Gave a feeling that I’m a thief.All the trucks were so badly parked that it took another 10 minutes to take out my car when the same guy moved the truck out. It was very unsafe and another customer helped me to back up my car and come out of the place.I don’t blame the guy 100%. U-haul center had lack of staff and he was clearly burnt outThe truck had a smell. The AC was giving air full of gas or bad smell. I was so relieved to give the car back.Truly hate my experience.

2 days ago I placed an order for pick up. After 8 hours, I went to the store because I still hadn’t been notified if the order was ready. The young guy at front desk was so rude and went on and on about how he’s just too busy to pull the order and that he didn’t have the room to “stage” it. I was in the store and saw the space and he had plenty of room. It took him 5 minutes to pull it so, his excuses were bologna. Today, I went to pick up my rental truck with the “super fast and easy” and “your supplies are already in the truck” and “your phone is your key” options. Get there, trucks locked. Go inside and wait 10 minutes before the exasperated clerk (same guy) finally came in from outside. I said I was there to get the truck and that I had confirmation that the equipment which I rented was already in it. He said “no it’s not because I’ve been too busy. I’m only one guy. If I could split myself in half, I would have had it done.” There was no one else in the store. Again, the task took 5 mins. His attitude and service is awful and I will never go back.

The general manager Christopher was very rude and unpleasant. Very unhelpful and made the whole process difficult moving is hard enough.... I know they are busy but being rude doesnt make their computer move faster

In and Out in a heartbeat with the self check in app. Be ready to take pictures of yourself, your Drivers License, and verify Odometer/Fuel levels in truck.Above all, what I appreciate about this location is their honesty.One of their your employees found my credit card in the truck, and called me so I could stop by and pick it up at my convenience. Even had it in a sealed envelope.for security. Things like this is what makes a business a 5-Star location.🙏

I’ve had some pretty crummy experiences with U-Haul, but the team at Lamar (Chris, the mechanic, in particular) seriously impressed me. Professional, efficient, kind, knowledgeable — all the qualities I’d hope for. Thank you, Chris, for representing U-Haul with such great worth ethic!

Toni was so helpful and amazing and made my day. I acquired some wardrobe boxes but did not have the metal bars to go in them. She was able to give me some and it will help make my move so much easier! I very much appreciate her generosity. I had called the mainline previously and the individual who helped me over the phone also gave me a few suggestions which was very much appreciated. Overall I am super happy with U-Haul!

Dont bother coming here to fill your propane on a Sunday. They only staff one person who isnt propane qualified. Didnt even bother to call another location to check for me. Mentioned the burnet store _might_ be able to do it ...

Worked with Ryan yesterday on a reserved trailer, really quick in and out. Where he really made the experience great was when I came back three days early, as in six hours later. Our trip got cancelled due to the weather and when I brought the trailer back he was gracious and helpful with the situation. He didnt even bat an eye he just helped me take the trailer off, changed the charge to one day and emailed me a receipt all in about thirty seconds. Thanks for making that easy. If you rent a U-Haul this is the place to do it.

The gentleman who served us at the counter was extremely rude. He did not make eye contact or even speak to us directly - he began by wordlessly pointing at a document on the counter. I had to ask him what I was supposed to be looking at before he actually asked me if the document was even mine. He did not speak with us (or even look at us) beyond that as he set up our rental.Upon our return with the van, the premises was locked. It was 4:00, and it was not supposed to close until 5:00. He was behind the counter, looked up, saw us, and walked out the side door. We walked around to see him as he left. He did not even slow down as he walked away. He simply called to us to put the vans key in the deposit box - he did so without actually pointing it out to us. He kept walking. I called out a thank you to him and he did not respond.We will not be doing business with this location again if this is quality of service U-Haul is comfortable with.

Very rude staff. After having to call multiple times asking for help with certain issues, my boyfriend and I had to have a random bystander help us load something because the Uhaul staff refused to offer us any help after they said they would. Then on top of that, they rudely told us we needed to move our vehicle because we werent doing anything with them. I have never experienced such rude, uncaring people in my life. PLEASE AVOID THIS LOCATION. I can see from other reviews Im not the only person to experience their amazing customer service.

I heard they work on trailer lights. Called Monday to confirm, guy said they do but wont have his tech there till Wednesday. Said come in at 8 and I can wait while they fix it. Called Wed. morning, they said ya, come on by, there is nothing on the schedule. Braved the traffic and got there to have the GM tell me they dont really do that and that Id have to come back in a few hours. Told me whoever I talked to was at the call center. I said I talked to two people, shouldnt they tell me this? He said he didnt know, said I talked to the call center. I told him the number I called which is listed as his location he said that I talked to the call center.Was a waste of mine and their time. Would be nice if they got their people coordinated. The End.

I see so many reviews about employee here being rude... but its currently, high traffic moving season in/from ATX... and they were so amazing to me earlier today. they even let me leave to go put cash back on my card and return(6:08PM - Close @ 7:00P.M.), as, I was initially attempting to pay with cash (didnt know about hold/its easier to apply via card/electronic return of funds after satisfying mileage estimate). Super friendly, even made pretty funny jokes.. will rent from when needed... as well my 10 truck for 1x1 apartment/studio = perfectly accommodated my needs. No issue what so ever. So thankful! :)

Hills Have Eyes type vibe, but very nice staff. Very down to earth and helpful. My main issue is with the location. I had to leave my car there for a few hours, and i was worried something might happen to it. Luckily my car is worthless, so it seems my concerns were misplaced.

Wow. These guys went out of their way to be insulting and rude. Ryan appears to be an assistant manager, which is likely the major problem because he took our reservation on the phone as if talking to us was painful. Ryan must really hate his job. They took my credit card and drivers license (as they do). Then they attempted to take the phone number and drivers license of the friend I convinced to help me move. I said wait, youre trying to make this guy doing me a favor financially responsible for the truck? Then the aggressive bad attitude came out in full force. Instead of taking some time to patiently explain what must be the reason why he hates his job, Ryan said dude just leave.When I said, its not the policy that is the problem its your bad attitude. Drew said because youre full of it.So, Im taking the time to write this to save you the bad day dealing with these two. It already has a 2.8 star rating and I should have looked before I drove here. As the other reviewers have said, it doesnt matter if this is the closest UHAUL - AVOID.

Rented a U-Haul for a move within Austin and had to soon go back because they didnt put the requested supplies in the back of the truck and the tank was only 3/4 of the way full...yes we should have checked first but really, they should have checked too and not tell us that this was all verified before we arrived. Service and drop-off were easy and the truck worked great. Just make sure to double check that youre getting what you paid for!

The staff member we talked to specifically said that they would place a temporary hold on our debit card and not charge us until we paid cash the next day, then charged us and completed the transaction on the debit card immediately, sending us into the red, and costing us a ton of extra money. When we told them about it, the GM argued with us over the nature of how bank transactions work, as if he were a bank teller, and not the GM of a U-Haul. Choose any other U-Haul in town, because this one is super into ripping people off.

I was very satisfied with the customer service rep that I spoke with this morning over the phone. He assured me that I could pick up the same exact equipment that I ordered at another location (Ben White, yuck!) for 9am tomorrow morning. Plus, this location told me they had an even bigger truck, a 15 inch I believe, for the same price! The best part is that they also gave me the auto transport for my entire car as the same price for the dolly instead of the $10 extra that I was charged at the Slaughter location ugh.I give big kudos and two thumbs up to this location for helping me knock out this move in timely manner instead of getting a sorry ass answer like you can only pickup the equipment at 6:30pm (According to the Slaughter location).Thank You North Lamar, you guys rock!!

Owner/General Manager Ryan Rositas has the worst attitude and gave the absolute worst customers service anywhere I have ever been, Mr Rositas clearly needs to find another line of work. I would prefer to travel across town before returning here.

Terrible experience with U-Haul. They are inconsistent and not professional. They kept changing the time the truck would be available. First they said it would be available at 7 am and then they called and said it would be available at 11 am. When went to the N Lamar location to check the manager said there was no truck under our name and that the next one would be available at 5 pm. When we asked for an explanation he didnt even try giving us one. I recommend Penske. Its more expensive but definitely more reliable. They kept their word.

Seriously, it does not matter that this place may be the closest U-Haul to you. Theyre still double charging credit cards and then making you stay on hold with corporate for hours to try and get it changed -- if youre lucky enough to have noticed. Go someplace else. Borrow a friends truck. Use Craigslist. Anything.

The dumbass that answered the phone this morning (8:01am/01.31) refused to answer my question. Instead of telling what size trucks they have available today, she proceeded to ask me 5 questions. No, YOU tell ME what size trucks you have available right now and then Ill give you all of my information (if im interested in renting a size you have.) I asked her a 5th time. She was playing a mind game and didnt respond for like 10 seconds. So I waited. She was irritated that I kept asking what size trucks they had available today. God, if it is this hard to get the answer on what size box trucks they have available today then I am going to Penske. To hell with this attitude the little low wage paid workers have.

ALERT!! CREDIT CARD ABUSE!! DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!! DWAYNE WASHINGTON IS THE G.M. HERE AND HE OVER CHARGED MY ACCOUNT BY $177!! I GOT MY REFUND BACK FROM THE CORPORATE OFFICE IN AUSTIN!! DWAYNE WOULDNT INVESTIGATE ON WHY THEY OVER CHARGED MY ACCOUNT!! ALSO ON MY CONTRACT HE HAD MY FUEL TANK CAPACITY AT 3/4. BUT WHEN I GOT IN THE TRUCK THE GAS WAS AT HALF A TANK???? Horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and visit another location. I will never return here. The manager was rude, not trustworthy and would not answer my questions. Please go elsewhere. Read other reviews, also, many other people have had similar experiences.
