Ordered a Springfield AR15 pistol exactly 1 year ago today. Was told 4-6 weeks when ordered. Still waiting. I call once a month to inquire and told basically nothing. No status, no information, just should be coming in soon. Need better communication between the manufacturer, and the store and the customer. 1 year???? I live 150 miles away, so can’t just stop by to talk in-person to anyone. But, would that help? People are polite, just no one doing anything to provide answers.

Id like to update my previous post. I received a call and follow up email from Ben Rigsby, Showroom Manager as to the status of my order. He provided clear details, researched the issue and provided me the answer I was looking for. The issue is with the manufacturer (and politics) and nothing to do with GT Distributors. Id like to thank Mr. Rigsby for his help and prompt attention.

Good prices on guns, ammo, and duty gear, but youll be retired by the time you get your name tapes and uniforms. Better to go to the Galls Service Center for embroidery.

If your law enforcement or retired law enforcement, this is the best place to purchase a firearm. No one sales guns cheaper then GT Distributors. The only draw back is they force you to wear a mask to enter the store. Typical Austin liberal mentality. Get over it. If you think the mask is going to save your life, then wear it. In fact wear 2 or 3 mask, but dont force free Americans to have to wear it. Dont forget the last four words to our national anthem..

I’ve been in this location on a few occasions and have had an issue with one employee in particular. His customer service is seriously lacking and he speaks down to at least me as the customer every time. I had to make a pickup at the uniform window and had a few questions as well. This employee gave me the box but refused to have a conversation with me. He turned and walked away and sat at his desk across the room. I tried to ask several questions and told him at least four times that I was unable to hear him. He never got up from his desk to try to properly help me. He rudely responded to my questions but not completely answering them and was very clearly annoyed by me asking. Usually I try to keep in mind that people have bad days and let it go. However, this one employee is constantly rude and speaks down to us every time we go into this location. I even went out of my way to be nice and it seemed like it made it worse. I am a reasonable person that tries to treat people that work retail with respect because I know their jobs can be stressful. I don’t think it’s an unrealistic expectation to have that same respect in return.

Went in to complete my suppressor purchase on the Kiosk, only needed to do fingerprints and sign. Asked the person at the front counter for directions to the kiosk in the store, (it was hidden behind some racks and shelves and not readily seen from front door) and he wanted to direct me to the Silencer Shop store down the road, rather then GTs Kiosk, implying that if I was going to need assistance with the kiosk this wasnt the place to do it... I got what I needed done, without needing assistance. The store is well stocked and other staff was eager to assist, we made a few other purchases and browsed. This place is your local Academys gun department on steroids. They definitely cater to Law enforcement. Will shop here again for the quality products.

Today was my first time shopping here at GT Distributors. An associate of mine told me about them this morning. The quantities quality of product is definitely not disappointing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the environment is safe. I will be back for sure.

Every time I go there for new gear the employees are very helpful.There is a plethora of gear to choose from whether your law enforcement or armed security.Always find a good deal or two each time I am there...highly recommend.

You dont have to be a cop to enter ... One of the few places that has ammo in hand and some of the best staff and workers Ive ever met. They are knowledgeable and polite... Really worth checking out

They need to clean house at the uniform alterations dept. How dare they guarantee pick up dates then get orders wrong, and add weeks to simple orders that shouldve been done that day, and then have some punk kid answer call and hang up on loyal customers. This kid as an attitude problem from start to finish and is oozing with incompetence. Everyone else in other depts are professional and caring, whomever manages the alterations dept should be ashamed they hire such trash and allow him to be the face of their dept. This is not how you treat first responders.

I appreciate him reaching out.**I am adjusting my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars based on the effort being made to try to fix the issue.**It had been many years, until yesterday, that wed actually gone into the store. We purchased the items online and drove to Austin to pick them up. We sat down to wait for our turn and watched the staff and customers at the counter. When it was our turn, we spoke up and rushed up to the counter so we didnt miss our turn (the guy went through the numbers so quickly allowing very little time for customers to speak up that it is their number). I immediately noticed a change in his demeanor as we walked up. It was NOTHING like what I saw with his last customer. No smile and a very uninterested, monotone greeting. We brushed it off and proceeded with our transaction since it was a bit of a drive there. The guy (I really wish I remembered his name) was very arrogant and short with his answers. My husband asked a few questions and his immediate response was I have no idea. 🤔 I started to get annoyed, so by the third time he said this, I pulled out my phone and started googling one of the questions myself. I was trying to be polite, but finally I made a comment I would think there would be a book or something here to explain if an item is compatible with these. He just looked at me. Eventually, after finding out what my husbands occupation is, he tried to be a little better but still referred to my husband as Bud the WHOLE time. That is NOT my husbands name and not what he referred to the previous customer as. 😒 He was very respectful to him (previous customer), answered EVERY question politely and that customer purchased NOTHING! We were spending our hard-earned dollars and drove to pick up our items to be disrespected! We were older than his last customer also. If he didnt know an answer, there is a way to say that.... but take some steps to find out. He was SUPPOSED to be the professional and expert, since he works there. I eventually walked away from the counter to let my husband finish the transaction, but we both agreed that his customer service sucked! I gave 2 stars because we received our items and he eventually answered one of the questions concerning the bullets. We well definitely look elsewhere before going back to them again.

Incredible selection of guns and accessories. Especially during a time when theres a shortage. They did not have ammo available unless you purchased a gun from them or are an active/retired law enforcement. If youre wanting to look at the guns youll need to head to the back wall and pull a number as there is typically a 30+ minute wait. Their employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Id recommend asking for help when searching for something specific as it may be behind the gun counter.

Some staff is friendly some may not be, just a heads up. Overall the highest of quality for self defense and ems folks. Beau was extremely helpful and cash register folks were cool so stop by if your close but manage your time wisely.

I lost my good pocket knife at the Astros game so I needed a new one. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and my knife is better than the one I had.

I love GT. It had been a while since I was in and things have moved inside the store but still a big kids play store if you are a first responder. Will go every time Im in town. Got traffic law update book and some Sergeant patches and other things. Wish I had more time and money.

GT Distributors is a great gun store. The staff is friendly and instructional. I knew what philosophy of use gun I wanted which was a home defense handgun. I explained I wasn’t looking for flash so much as function. Staff helped me make a great selection. I think in most gun stores I’ve felt pushed to do something based on the staff’s favorite gun or something cool they just got in and not what I was truly asking for. GT is NOT like that. They really do listen to what you want and help guide that process. They have a good selection of police trade-in AR-15s, 12 gauge shotguns, and sidearms. I purchased during covid when other gun stores were totally bare and GT was still well stocked with firearms or ready to place your order for something they didn’t have readily available. I am not a LEO, but I noticed they also had fitted duty soft armor and a changing room to try it on. They had handcuffs, tons of nylon, Kydex, and leather holsters, Handcuffs, etc. they also have “blue prices” clearly labeled on select models of firearms for LEOs. I do agree they could use a couple more people behind the counter, but do not factor that into score. Stay safe GT staff!

Today I visited GT Distributors. I was simply overwhelmed with the professionalism of the staff, knowledge and absolute courteousness given during a store that was very busy. As I had questions, Ben was able to assist with a calmness and sense of direction that was off the charts. I appreciate him taking the time with me that he did. I would highly recommend this store as well as their Associates. I Ordered a product for retirement (paid in full because you have to for this particular item) on Dec 30th 2020 in Austin, Texas. I was told it would take approximately four weeks. I recieved a missed call and voicemail on Feb 26th that my product had arrived and to come pick it up at my earliest convenience with a detailed message regarding my invoice. I arrived in person on Feb 28th to discover my order had been given to another customer and was told Oh, well someone else had ordered two.I spoke with Ben (manager) in his office who stated I would be the next in line to recieve one as they came in.A month had passed and I called to check on the status of my retirement badge. I was told three seperate times, they were checking with a manager and they would call me back. Noone ever called back.I recieved a phone call from Aaron (another manager) on April 9th now saying it looked as if my product had never been submitted to VH Blackington from the beginning. I explained to Aaron that I had already spoken to Ben in his office and that my product had been given away.Aaron stated he would re-submit the order and that it would take another four weeks for it to come in.Today is May 10th and I still have not recieved my product that I paid for in full.These products are generic and not assigned to a specific person and come to GT Distributors in bulk and apparently they just give them away to the first person they can get a hold of.I had attempted to e-mail Ben a couple of times with no response.If you belong to a department, are an Officer, retired Officer etc, I highly discourage you from conducting business with GT Distributors as the way they conduct business (to include firearms) is unprofessional and disrespectful.I remember when GT Distributors was for law enforcement only, and you had to show credentials to even get in and the customer service was phenomenal but apparently since they have opened it to the public, it has just become about the money. There are plenty of other places to conduct firearm and law enforcement business and I would highly suggest you do so.To date, GT Distributors has my money and I have no product.Retired and no product to date.In response to Gts response below:Although greatly appreciated by law enforcement, mentioning any type of charity or contributions to law enforcement is tacky and irrelevant to poor service and customer service.After nearly 6 months, I finally recieved the product and to no surprise, it has the wrong backing. The management has called me numerous times to modify this review. That is not happening. The truth is the truth and I am not changing my review and stand by my word that if you are shopping for anything law enforcement wise, I suggest shopping around first. Sorry, GTs, after nearly two decades of doing business there. I will never shop there again so you can respond with your lashing out, 15% discounts on future purchase etc, just to get me to change my review. NO! The circumstances are what they are and even when I recieved it, it was WRONG.I did not have another 6 months to wait for it to be corrected and so was not even worth mentioning. Instead, was easier to just spend more money for a new holder as I could not use my old one (look it up on my invoice). I started shopping at this location many years ago. To this day, I have not had any troubles in getting what I needed. The staff is great and is always willing to help. Ive had to place orders to get specific items and they have always taken care of me. They make sure I get the right item at the right fit. Pricing is great and the selection, to include firearms, is right there with it. I will always go back.

It is my opinion that Tim Brown the owner and Vice President of GT distributors in Austin TX is the rudest most unpatriotic, Anti-American business owner I have ever met... I have never been treated so bad by a company owner or for that matter anyone... Especially AFTER spending $800 in his store, this is how he treated me. His valued customer...Let me just start off by saying I have purchased from GT distributors in Austin TX for years as well as many other FFL dealers in Austin, I am a member the firearms community, hold a CHL, a US Army veteran, and I support law enforcment and I make many yearly contributions to law enforcment agencies... So After waiting for 45 days my firearm finally came in! So I pulled a ticket and waited for about 35 minutes and the same friendly fellow that took my initial order was there and we began the normal process of check out. Everything went fine and I completed my sale in the sum of $811.00... After my purchase at the back gun counter I decided I needed another large flashlight and while I was looking at lights a manager came over... KEEP THIS IN MIND. There is NO current MASK MANDATE IN TEXAS, IT ENDED ABOUT 30-45 DAYS AGO... and there is MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS IN PLACE WHEN THERE WAS A MASK MANDATE... I was approached by this manager with a hostile demeanor and he rudly spoke to me with a mask in his hand and told me I had to put this mask on... Before I could even get the words out of my mouth to tell this manager that I was an ASTHMATIC WITH COPD and I cant wear a mask he told me I HAD TO LEAVE THE STORE... I have never been treated with such immediate disrespect by a company, especially after I spend my hard earned money at this business. I was honestly taken back by his attitude and loud what some might call yelling voice basically telling me to put a mask on or get out.... so I said to HIM send me his manager immediately. He sad he WAS the head manager and no one was ahead of him except the owner. OK... I said, get him.... So I continued to find the flashlight I wanted thinking when the owner arrived and heard me out and the way I was treated and that I am A an asthmatic with COPD and that B I just spent $800 in his store he would actually be accommodating because I am HIS CUSTOMER and There is no requirment for him to make anyone wear a mask...Honestly I was shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and disrespect this owner displayed to me, a customer that just spent so much $ at his establishment. He came walking out of his back office with his chest puffed out finger pointing at the door yelling get out... I told him I was asthmatic and there is no mask mandate anyway and he told me he didnt care and to never come here again and then told the cashier to delete my account... And yelled at me to get out... I patron Gun shops frequently, and I know many of the actual owners and honestly Tim Brown shouldnt be running a snowball stand much less a business that embodies American values like the 2nd Amendment while not respecting and valuing the freedoms we have as Americans... I am sad To say I have ever spend 1 cent at Tim Browns GT Distributors in Austin Tx.... There are ffl dealers in abundance and I will be spending my money where owners embody the Spirit Of America instead of discarding it like Tim Brown has done to me and the freedoms I and my family has fought to protect.... I was looking for a specific model of rifle, one that was not very common but GT had it. I went there the day the shelter in place was announced. They only allowed 10-people in the store at a time but the person at the door was very friendly and made nice conversation. I was in line for about an hour but the employees were helping people who werent purchasing firearms to help speed things along and the staff kept us updated and explained everything the entire time.When I got inside, I took my number for assistance. Someone asked me what I was looking for, ran into the back and placed it on hold for me. I waited another two hours or so but it was completely expected and the employees kept apologizing repeatedly, thanking us for being patient and providing updates when they could.When I finally was ready to check out, I had a few questions outside of my research and Eric was patient and answered all of them and helped with recommendations. The process was smooth and quick.Excellent selection of firearms, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great prices.As just a heads-up, one of the staff was having a very loud discussion with another customer about... uh... well, lets just say theyre not very friendly to liberals I guess but I kind of expected it.

I talked to a customer service person in the store and he was quite knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They had several handguns in stock, but no amunition which is pretty much everyone else. I recommend this store.

I always love them. Every employee is the best employee. Never been to places where everyone was the best employee.

1st class gun and gear shop. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable and willing to help with all questions and has never once made me feel bad for asking. There truly is no dumb question if it is being asked with the true intention of learning with staff at GTs. You are going to get better answers and better service and more selection and most often just as good if not better prices then any other big box sporting goods store that I have encountered. When I need something I shop GTs before I look online.

It’s hard to imagine how they can sell a Glock 22 in this condition with two mags (15 rnds) for under $270, but they do, and I appreciate it.This is one of, if not the lowest price LEO trade in pistols I have seen in this condition, basically no holster wear except very slight on top of sights - which by the way are Glock tritium that are still working fine. There’s also a small amount of wear on the top edge of the slide release and there was for some reason a fair amount of lint on the internals but that cleaned up easily. The trigger is like any Glock trigger, hard to tell it’s not new. Regardless what you think of 40sw or Glock the service was great, quick shipping, and their pistol top notch.PS: my black-out of identifying numbers on frame and slide.

She did it with a smile I could hear on the phone and that these days is rare! My issue was a bit complicated but at the end of it she had a very happy customer who got his order one track. Great overall experience, from phone customer support to the in-store assistance. Purchased firearm online from GT through GunBroker and picked it up in store. Pickup process initially confused me a little, but customer support called me and cleared everything up, and even took the initiative to waive shipping costs. Everyone was extremely helpful and professional, will be back.

Theres a really great selection of items, and I think the prices are fair. The only drawback is getting service at the firearms section as business picks up, like on the Saturday afternoon I was their with my police officer brother. He finally took a number to get waited on, but there didnt seem to be any guidelines requiring that customers actually take a number. Other than that, I definitely liked it.

This place is as slow as Christmas. Every time you call be prepared to wait on the line 20-30 minutes. Staff found it funny that I was concerned about waiting 4/5 months,And not receiving any update for a firearm that other dealers are able to get there hands on in a matter of 1-2 months. GT distributors will never get another penny out of me, I’d rather spend my money at a small busy that actually cares about customer support than some big corporate business that just wants your money.

I have been a customer of GT Distributors for over 10 years. They have always been my go-to store, but no longer.Went there today to purchase some items and was told I had to wear a mask. This is not a state or local requirement, but up to the discretion of the store.Masks are a “feel good” measure and cause more issues than they actually solve. Oxygen absorption is restricted and lung issues will rise due to rebreathing of moist, oxygen-depleted exhalation.Today my business went elsewhere and will for the foreseeable future. This decision by Jim for the appearance of safety is disappointing, as this is helping to erode the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. His store, his rules. My money, my choice.
