These must be the best pancakes in Austin. Wouldn’t be surprised if they had crack in them they are so insane. I recommend the buttermilk pancakes. I love adding pecans to it.You’ll find their sandwiches to be very fresh and the omelets of course are fluffy and full of flavor. Nothing bad here.Orange juice is tart and the coffee is strong.

The Omelettry is a pretty nice place to get the feel of a local diner. Its situated in a small shopping complex very close to I35.Food wise it was pretty okay, we started off with the a cup of homemade potato leek soup, its very light on the palette. The size of the cup is small so if you sharing order the bowl. For main course we got the Popeye omelette, which is pretty huge. It tasted fresh, the eggs themselves felt a little under seasoned though. We also got the baked potatoes stuffed with mushroom and onions. It is basically a huge potato, baked and then filled with sauted veggies and some sauce on top. I did not become a fan of it and left most of it on the plate. We finished off with a Gingerbread pancake which we really liked.

This was my first time here and it wasnt that great to be honest. There was a 45 minute wait, which I figured because it was Fathers Day today, but once we got seated, our waitress came and didnt even seem like she wanted to serve us. No welcome, just, are you ready to order? After we ordered and received our food, she never came back. We had to ask another waiter if that was normal. He said they all help every table, so the wait staff dont have assigned tables. Then they left the tab shortly after we got our food. We were waiting for someone to come by and get it but the other waiter said we pay at the front. Our waitress said she got stuck behind the register. If this is the normal way to run an establishment, I dont think I can get behind it, but to each his own. The food wasnt too bad though, just needed seasoning, which they mustve known based on the amount of salt and pepper packets we received.

By far one of my favorite places to eat in Austin is the Omelettry. This restaurant has been a staple in my families dining experiences for years. From the old location to the new one, the integrity of the food has never changed. Not to mention the great service you receive as soon as youre seated at your table. Ive eaten here over 30 times at least and have never had one bad experience always just great food and wonderful memories. If youre ever looking for some old school Austin dining, this is your place to go.

I am astonished that this place has such good reviews and is named after their omelets. I ordered the vegetarian omelet - as described on the menu has onions, tomatoes and avocado. What I received had zero flavor, all of the ingredients were not fresh and the “avocado” was mashed up like guacamole which looked like it came from a can or tub. My boyfriend’s Spanish omelet came swimming in juice (probably from a can) and also left much to be desired. I’m truly not one to complain or write a negative review - I paid for the meal and will not be returning. It’s just a huge shock that a place like that can get away with such blan food in a city that has so many other brunch spots to choose from! Spend your $12.25 for a blan omelette elsewhere.

Let me just say that this review has nothing to do with the food, because it truly was delicious and worth every single penny! The low rating has to do with the manner that this place is ran. Upon sitting down, we were quickly asked for our drinks. Once we got them, we were asked for our orders. The first issue was we never got straws and no one ever came around for us to ask for some. I saw some up by the counter so just decided to do it myself. My daughter also wanted milk but again, no one ever came by so I had to ask the people dropping the food off several minutes later. When we did get the food, we too got our check. Maybe one more person came by for coffee refills the entire time we were there. I had to go up to the counter to get other refills. Each time I asked someone for something, they gave me the most annoyed look ever. Maybe I’m just not used to Austin and the people there, but it northern Texas this is just rude service.

The Omelettry! An oldie but goodie in Austin ❤️I thought they were gone ☹️ since I didnt see them on Burnet, but then I remembered that they had moved way back when 😁They moved and are at the Airport Rd. east of I35The new digs are nice and clean (It is a but smaller that the old location). Still doing the communal waitering experience ☺️The menu items look the same at least I recognized many of the dishes. The food is excellent. I had the Mushroom Omelette with stack of gingerbread pancakes (a must). The Omelette was smaller than I remember back in the day but dont get me wrong it is a good portion. I guess I remember it differently since I always took home leftovers. Maybe it is the same since I could only eat half my pancakes ad usual 😉The staff was very courteous and friendly and the order came in fast (maybe because I was here by myself, at 9 am on a Wednesday). All in all its really good to see the old gal us still here. An Austin institution that adds to the charm of this rapidly changing town.If youve never been you need to visit, If you used to go in the past come back.

Ive eaten at The Omelettry for years, now. It is run like a small business and has stayed small. The staff is homey. The bathrooms are adequate.Because I have a gluten intolerance, Ive only ordered eggs and bacon. When they introduced gluten free pancakes, I was thrilled! The pancakes are pink (LoL!) and delicious (yum!).But, the last trip to Austin, I ordered gluten free pancakes and was given pancakes that were white. (Not the normal pink, which Ive come to associate with gluten free pancakes, here.) I as skeptical but as assured that they were the same gluten free pancakes. I ate one but I got sick almost immediately. Im deducting only one star because this is one bad experience among several dozen good ones. Ill still go back and update my review.

When I think of an omelet, I think of the fixings being mixed into the egg. I had the house special with no bell pepper. I got an egg flap with cheese, onions, small bits of spinach, mushrooms, cubed ham, and what seemed like a cup of sliced olives. Olives, mind you, do not appear in the list of fixings on the menu. I would have absolutely left them out. The buttermilk pancakes were way below average, and the bacon slices were super brittle. It was more like a bacon chip.Other considerations: it took my party of 2 about 30 minutes to be seated, and it took at least 20 minutes to get our order. We were never asked if we needed anything; in fact, I had to approach the counter a couple of times to get sugar and creamer.I wouldnt come here again.

We found this place on line but we were not sure what to expect. We were greated by Laura. I have to say she was the nicest person there. She always had a smile on her face and great recommendations. Since this was our first time she explained the process to us. The food was good but the best was the gingerbread pancakes which were superb. Best thing I have had. I would have given 5 stars but for a couple of things. 1. The toast comes not butter which annoys me to no end.(upside is that there is at least not frozen butter) 2. There was a blond lady in a red shirt who seemed very annoyed to be helping/working today at all. Gave us our salsa right onto our check and not friendly at all. 4. The potatoes tasted stale. All in All great vista and worth the 50 min wait time.

Was so excited to try this place, but honestly, it was easy too tell all of the ingredients are prepackaged or canned, not fresh. Vegetables, beans, guacamole, all of it terrible. Kind of has a small town restaurant vibe to it. I brought my family here based on the good reviews, but I do recommend trying a different spot. The Spanish omelette looks like they dumped a can of rotel tomatoes on top of it and most of the house fries were too burnt to eat. Service was ok. Some employees were friendly most were not. Restrooms did not work so we couldn’t wash our hands. Price is Average. We paid $44 for 3 meals and 2 drinks. Overall, it wasn’t too bad, but not a place I’ll try again. Coffee was very good!

The waitress understood and only brought us one meal for the both of us to share. Not a problem simple mistake. My girlfriend started eating some of the meal and found there were jalapeños in the dish which she cannot eat due to an intolerance. She tried getting the attention of the waitress with no luck. She went over to the bar to get her attention to stop the second dish that was getting made merely 1 minute after we corrected her mistake and the waitress gave her attitude then stopped serving us the rest of the visit. She had to get another waiter to assist us when we were polite as hell. Learn customer service before you work this type of business.

The food here was REALLY GOOD! I was so pleasantly surprised. My wife and I both got the Burnet Road Benedict which was a ton of food. Had we known we would have split one. Anyway, it was loaded with cheese, bacon, eggs, and all kinds of goodness. I would definitely order it again. The only problem we ran into was with our initial waiter. As we first walked in, we got the table we wanted. But then a big family of 5 came in and he wanted to merge the tables. His idea was to seat us in a booth next to his station which was loud with all kinds of dishes clanking. We decided we wanted a further booth instead, it just needed to be cleaned. With this response he got snappy and said SIT TIGHT as he proceeded to shuffle and slam dishes/silverware shortly after. My wife got up and asked if we could sit away from that waiter as he clearly was not ready to help us. The ladies at the front were very apologetic and had no problem seating us elsewhere. Our waitress from there was very nice and we made sure to tip her well in spite of the earlier guy with a temper tantrum.
