I had gone to this place and now I returned. The volunteers there are super nice. I have found regular stuff that I needed for my apartment. I got lamps and furniture. It’s priced right and it’s a fund raising store, so that’s always nice

They need better signage. It is a bit difficult to see. This is definitely more 9f a home goods, knick backs, and jewelry sort of place. It does have some clothing, but it takes a relatively small amount of retail space in the store. I appreciated the cleanliness though!

Second hand furniture, kitchen supplies, clothing, and artwork delight the senses of those who are into recycling at Next to New. Some fancy dish settings are behind glass and you can even find nicer area rugs hanging up at the back wall. Give yourself plenty of time to brouse all the areas which are kept clean and organized by volunteers.

I like coming here to browse the various new (next to new, rather) items that come in. Over my past several visits, Ive been able to find furniture in great shape for my apartment and nice quality decor like flower pots and windchimes. Most things are reasonably priced, and if nobody picks it up in a few weeks, the price will drop to a more reasonable number. The volunteers are very kind and always willing to help out. Awesome place to find old and new treasures for a good cause!

Nice selection. Volunteers can be rude and gossip loudly in front of customers or where customers can hear. After many trips there and much $ spent I decided not to go there again. Tired of bad mannered volunteers.

Lots of great selection, you can spend a good chunk of time perusing the goods. The consignment part of the store is a great way to get rid of some stuff and also get some money back from potential sales. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I will change my review when they change their hours. Who closes at 4? This is the worst business model for a store that wants to make money. I thought about selling consignment here but whats the point when they are barely ever open and are rushing groups of people out the door at 4pm every day?? Ok so they are open til 7 ONE day a week. Wow. Great.

Prices are pretty bloated for a non-profit, this is definitely not a thrift store (or if it is, the most expensive one in Austin). I found it odd they sell some womens clothing but not any mens. They have South Congress prices on Burnet Road, after a few looks I will not stop in anymore.

This place is great for furniture- lots of great deals, but several cuts above the quality you get at the Goodwill. You can frequently find something very, very special. Plus, the longer you wait, the cheaper it gets, which brings a delightful gambling aspect to shopping here.

I remember this shop having good sales on their clothing, so I stopped in to see if they had any cheap/nice couches... Turns out (in my opinion) the furniture is severely overpriced for its condition and style. Standard 3 seat Black leather couch with scratches, $700.. this beautiful floral print orange couch... Reduced to $225, with scratches all along the left front side. So, if you have the money and are willingly to pay extra for used furniture ( that you could probably buy new for around the same price) then you will probably be okay with this place. If youre looking for a deal, shop Craigslist.

Every time I come into this shop I find a hidden treasure (or two) just waiting for me to discover it! The staff is super friendly and they are all volunteers. Their prices graduate down the longer it sits there, but dont wait too long or some one might buy it out from under you. Lots of parking and not to recently they expanded their space.

My favorite resale shop in Austin and proceeds go to charity. The prices go down the longer the items remain, so you can get some great deals if you risk waiting. Run by volunteers.

Lovely volunteers, and rude managers. The had a new turn over so we all thought that the volunteers would be treated better. We have never worked there but cant help overhear the way they talk to them. I sold a lot of silver at one time but now its so hard to see that I can’t get anything to move. Barbra the violent was wonderful but as soon as the new woman (german name I can’t pronounce) talked to me I know it was time for me to stop going.I will miss them. I hope they some to work with the paid staff.

The volunteers have always been nice, but the prices are way too high for consignment. When the original store price tag is still on an item for $24.99 and the Next to New tag is $25, thats a real turn off for bargain hunters.

I love this place because if I want it and cant afford it, I can see on the ticket what day the price will go down and to what price it will be reduced. Its a great consignment store.

Our go to place for treasuring hunting, especially for small items, but they do have furniture as well. The speed of inventory exchange, and the time dependent pricing structure (prices decrease as the time on the shelf increases) make frequent trips worthwhile.

I enjoy shopping here and occasionally find really nice items. My consignment dealings are less impressive. I have lost several items I consigned (jewelry, gold. silver). Told by everyone from the manager to Church officials that they had lost several expensive items at the time of my loss as well to suspicious activities. They refused to make any concession and legal professionals told me it was difficult to fight a Church in Court. So be careful and consign articles you can afford to have disappear............Very disappointed as a seller. BTW they charge 50% commission.
