Its not too often that I would give a car dealership a five star rating but Sames Red Barn Motors knocked it out of the park. A little Texas fun fact, Sames is the oldest car dealership in Texas and that experience really shows. Initially, I found Sames through an Autotempest.com search. I sent an email and met Frank Castor. Frank is amazing! Its always refreshing to meet professionals that are into their craft. Frank went above and beyond to facilitate my experience. Frank is a wholesome man and is definitely a straight shooter. Frank excudes such an inviting positivity that even though you dont buy a car from him, you walk away feeling like a million bucks. Every time I spoke to Frank it was hard not to walk away smiling (expect family friendly Dad jokes). I have been buying cars for well over 25 years and Sames definitely raised the bar for professionalism, customer service, and overall car buying experience. Sames definitely know their numbers and price their inventory competitively. Frank and the Sames team sold me a very memorable experience that led me to buying a new car. At the end of the day we both walked away smiling, was it Frank for making a sell or me for getting a great deal? Swing on by to Sames Red Barn Motors and decide for yourself.

I DONT KNOW HOW TO SAY THIS, ACCEPT WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT DEALER THAT BUYS FROM AUCTIONS. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE. ON TWO OCCASIONS WE PURCHASED VEHICLES THAT WERE BEING SOLD BY SAMES RED BARN MOTORS. BOTH OF THE VEHICLES WERE TAMPERED WITH TO HIDE THE ACTUAL PROBLEMS THEY HAD. IF THEY DO THIS TO OTHER DEALERS, WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THEIR RETAIL CUSTOMERS?

Found a nice car for the wife here. Sales people are garbage but are willing to negotiate. Got the price and payments I wanted. Oh yeah they are 100% anti your constitutional rights. Probably not important to most but I dont give my business to anyone with that attitude.

First things first if I could give ZERO stars if I could. This place honestly is horrible. My fiancé got this car in April, when we got it, we immediately noticed that something was up under the hood as well as not having a working horn. After a few months we were finally able to get from SA to Austin to get it looked at. At first they had the car for maybe a week because of something with the horn and motor mount causing them to find an issue with the transmission(?) then we got it back and as we’re on the interstate the car starts jumping causing us to pull over. We couldn’t reverse because it wouldn’t move and just rev up to 5-6rpm. We called Trey and thank the lord he’s as nice as he is. He managed to get the car towed back to Sames to make sure it was fixed. It turns out it was a faulty transmission. After about another 2 1/2 weeks we are finally able to get it (10-18 Today) they stated it was already test driven and that it shouldn’t happen again. It happened again and we’re now currently stuck in an HEB parking lot. We’ve tried getting ahold of them with no answer. This is unacceptable and EXTREMELY unprofessional.

I bought a car from this place then wanted to cash in on the referral bonus they had going. My friend bought a car and Ive tried 4 times to get my bonus. They would laugh lie and even called the cops on me when I said Id wait for a manager!! This is the worst experience of my life!! Do not buy from them!!! I filed with the BBB you should see all their complaints I wish I had. Never again!!!!!

I purchased a truck from Sames red barn in January everything was great at the beginning. Then once I have my Down payment is when the issues started. Tons of promises that they just won’t meet. Now I’ve had my truck 5 months I still don’t have my truck plates I get nothing but the run around from everyone. Can’t get a straight answer won’t get me new temp plate have gotten at ticket now I have no plates and I can’t drive a truck that I pay for every month and still no answers. I don’t recommend this place

If I could give this place ZERO stars I definitely would. I cannot stress enough how unprofessional, disrespectful, and mediocre this place is. It may be one of the oldest dealerships in Austin which they flaunt any which way they can but make no mistake they will take your money and put you in an unreliable, unsafe and sell you a lemon under false pretenses!! I went up there and put $1,000 down on 2012 Town & Country van that at the time supposedly had “no issues”. I haven’t even had this vehicle for even 1 YEAR yet at this point. Well jokes on me cause not even a month later almost every light that tells you your car needs service came on. I’ve taken the van up there more than 10 times which by the way is almost an hour from my house and had to have it towed to Sames 3 times because it wasn’t safe to drive. If that doesn’t sound completely unreasonable then imagine having to put in all the work only to get the car back each time and the LIGHTS were still on. Every time I went to pick it up, I’d start the car and surprise the lights still on.. Shawn the service department manager kept trying to tell me they just forgot to “reset” the light and every time he reset it I’d turn the car off and back on and guess what the LIGHT didn’t just need to be reset! They kept trying to pass it off like they “fixed” the problem when he was just trying to cover up the problem! As if that’s not bad enough, when I call to ask where my car is, Shawn’s nowhere to be found on vacation and this guy RANDY was “filling in” for him and when he couldn’t give me a valid answer he finally admits to me that they put a part back together WRONG AND DROVE THE CAR causing it to break more! There cost of repairs exceeded the VALUE OF THE CAR and neither Sames nor the finance company offered me a valid solution or to just let me out of my lease!! I’ve tried several times to get a meeting with the store manager and every time I was blown off or given the run around about how he’s not available! How is a STORE MANAGER not available to help the people that literally BRING YOU ALL BUSINESS?! They won’t even answer the phones most times unless it serves them. Bottom line is save your money and go somewhere that sells reliable vehicles and is willing to prove to you just how much customer service is worth! I will NEVER EVER recommend or go back to this place! I had to have the finance company voluntarily repossess the van because it literally was a black hole that I was just throwing money into and would never come back to me FIXED OR FREE OF PROBLEMS. I’m so disappointed with this dealership, I TRUSTED them to put me in a reliable and SAFE vehicle and instead all I got in return was a burning hole through my wallet and grief!

WORST PLACE OVER my brother purchased a 2009 cadillac CTS & has had numerous problems from the beginning. first off he was promised at 2018 nissan sentra and somehow they switched it. It was poor customer services. Service rep left us unattended for about 2 hours. Finally after everything is done and we’re able to leave the tank is on E. Not even a week later it rains and there is water leaking. Brought the car back and service promise they fixed it but didn’t the problem continued to happen. He’s brought his vehicle up there at least 12 times. It’s been one year and the car engine is blown out. They sold him a car that was in terrible condition there’s no reason why water should be leaking in not even a week after purchasing. Management is rude and doesn’t care about the customers. If you’re thinking of buying a car here ... just walk.

Worst experience with a car lot. Besides the fact that they promised to fix multiple things but then weasels their way out if it. They are set up to where its virtually impossible to make a payment. They were telling me to make my first payment through a totally wrong company that had nothing to do with my truck which made the payment late now the actual company will only allow me to pay both months at once for only being 2 days delinquent. Its been a non stop aggravation dealing with them and every single thing theyve said has been a lie. Now im stuck in a 23k$ truck. Its either take the 4k loss from my trade in and down payment or just deal with them for the next 4 years. Im seriously leaning towards taking the hit and starting over somewhere else. Its been that bad. If I could give zero stars it would be too many.

Nor have I had anyone call me to let me know when is a good time to get it done. Communication with service dept. has lacked, young man acting as clerk rude and unprofessional.Issues-1.Cracked windshield2.Bad Brakes3.Broken interior Door Handle4.Brake back center light out5.truck sometimes has issues starting.6.Motors going out for electrical part of the seat for adjustment7.Back tailgate does not lockI dont know if warranty takes care of these items ... The worst customer service. The two times I walked in, not one person acknowledged me or asked to help me. Even after I had to ask someone for help and wait over 10 minutes for him to go on about his own business, I went ahead and walked out back to find someone in the service garage to help me. I wouldn’t recommend on customer service.

There are many reasons for choosing one star to rate this place. When I first bought a car, I was happy with my purchase, but a day after driving off in the car there started to be some serious problems with the vehicle. I had to return to the place four times to get it fixed because they do not have a return policy on their vehicles, even if there are defects with the vehicle. They will make the repairs for free but you have to keep driving back to the place for however many times it takes for them to fix the vehicle.Next, I put $3,000 down on a $13,000 vehicle, but my mistake was using their financing. I highly recommend anyone avoid using their financing. They charged me over a $4,000 finance charge, and 7.5% APR which in my opinion is a very steep price. My credit score wasnt even terrible, in the 550-600 range. Now on top of my $3,000 down payment, I have a $15,000 loan to payoff because of their steep financing charge. Get a pre-approved loan from your bank if you decide to shop from them.For all the negativity, there was one good thing about this place, JD. He helped me as much as he could and he was a front sales person with a great personality. He couldnt control any of the problems I had with service and finance so theres nothing bad I would say about him.

Was looking for a car for my family and they tried to charge me $23k for a car that was worth maybe $3-4k. it started out at $8000 then Went to $15000 for no reason and this is for a Scion hatchback that had obviously been in an accident it was laughable so finally went to another dealership and got twice the car at half the price and the payments were $150 less per month without being looked down on woul definitely steer clear of this place and their shady business....

When to look for a truck and showed me a very beat up truck with a flat tire and in terrible condition but was assured that it looked good and great quality. I would hope that they would have these vehicles more presentable and better kept since most of them look dirty and beat up and remove satisfaction to people trying to buy

We were actually going with Chevorlet Auto Nation on research who tried to rush us on the deal and were not sympathetic to the passing of my brother from COVID. I didn’t want them to cry with me. I just wanted the basic respect and sympathey of “I’m sorry for your loss”. Instead, they tried to rush us and the MANAGER even told us that they had someone else ready to buy the vehicle we were test driving. Like really? How if we had it in our possession (overnight)and were clearly VERY interested in it and only needed a night to get an answer from our bank for a lower APR (we already had a pre approval from Capital One). Anyways, they definitely pushed us to a better place with people who were definitely more sympathetic and understanding. Thank you again Sames Red Barn we will be back!

I the bank that works with them card me then told her about the car o got and transferred me to another person and the Sam Red Barn..where he was rude when I was trying to tell him why I havent came in for them to change the oil like they said was changed. And that it needs an alignment, and makes a noise parked or not parked?? Hedidnt ask what was best time or day just said BEING IT MON AT 8..wouldnt lesson to a word otherwise..im a nurse and at this time I depend on this car and my residents depend on me to be there and with cov its hard for me.he didnt understand nore did he wait for me to say anything..I didnt try again just said thank you and God bless and left it...

I hardly ever leave reviews but after my recent experience I definitely will take the time to say something. The people hear are very nice and easy to talk to. They will do everything they can to get you in something that is affordable and reliable. I had been turned away from almost every lot for the past 2 years. I came to Sames and leased my car that same day! They even were willing to work with the amount of money I had to put down. They do in house financing and I was able to purchase insurance through them at a very low cost. Ive only had my car for a couple weeks now but its driving fine for now so I really cannot complain. In a month or two Ill give an update on the car, hopefully its not a lemon because Im feeling very blessed right now. Sames you are a life saver! Thank you again ☺️.

I got my first car from this place, after 2 months of having it and bringing it in every week for those 2 months. My first salesperson, Mike, gave me my key without an FOB and told me I had to PAY for it, later on being told that was wrong. Eventually the car started overheating and I had to argue with the general manager to be able to return the car and get one that actually works. They told me they did in house inspections and that they fix every used car they receive, and this is an absolute lie. The first car had a new problem every week I had it and it was very clear that there was not an inspection nor any work done before it was sold. After speaking with their general manager and paying $500 extra for a new down payment on a different car, I began to experience issues with the car again. These issues were very simple, but again it had not been fixed or even looked at before being sold and problems continue to come up with the car. The warranty offered for their cars does not cover anything that would be checked and/or fixed on a used car before being sold so you will be paying for all of it.

Was an awful experience . The website genarated an estimate with poor credit og 10% apr, with $1,000 down and 190 a month. I get there the truck is not on the lot, apr is 20% and the payments are 500 dolallars more. I think this was a waste of time and very dishonest and was lied to for me to get there just to change a deal in my dis advatage of ..

Looking for a previously owned vehicle is never fun, but after visiting Sames Red Barn Motors twice now, I feel much better about whatever vehicle I eventually choose. The website helped me a lot. The sales person was friendly and I never felt pressured into buying something on the spot. They have a good selection and the prices are reasonable. I recommend that if you are thinking about buying a previously owned vehicle, at least include Sames in your search.

I walked out angry. The sales rep didnt seem to know much about anything outside of the memorized pitch that was supposed to get me to buy. There was no interest in what I had to offer from my 6 yrs experience in car sales and mgmt. They threw away a sale because I didnt fit the script that was being played

The sale person was great Richard Martinez, but the people who are in charge are not my son bought his car back in July and HE STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED HIS PLATES. Also my husband was told he would get a $200 check for recommending my son and He still has NOT gotten a check. My husband calls on a regular bases to check on plates and on the check he is ALWAYS told they will take a message and someone will call him back and no one ever calls back and I was told once that the check was ready so I dont know why they just dont mail it to us.This is the worse service that we had.!!!

Sold us an overpriced car. We took the car to an independent mechanic only to find out that the transmission fluid was so old it was thick and black. Now the motor is out. Thank God for the extended warranty. The loaner car broke down today. We called and they said there is nothing they can do. Oh and when we put new tires on the car, one of the wheels is completely different. Do yourself a favor and RUN away from that place as fast as you can.***I have decided to upgrade my review of Sales Red Barn Motors. I still stand by what I posted as it is factual. What has caused me to upgrade the review is that the service department did go above and beyond to get our car running with a new motor.This is my advice. Do not feel pressured to buy your car that day. Have it checked out by an independent mechanic. Make sure the fluids have been changed, the belts changed and that an overall inspection has been done.If you decide to purchase, buy the extended warranty. It saved us thousands of dollars. We got a new motor for $100.00.My advise to Sames. Do NOT take advantage of peoples trust. Make sure your vehicles are safe. Make sure your loaner cars are in decent shape.

Tracy! Was phenomenal. I will say I came in with a closed mind. However, with her positive attitude and doing everything she could too make sure I got what I wanted is what opened my mind. I’m very happy with my choice of vehicle and would definitely recommend family and friends to work with Tracy!!

I have had to reconsider my review because I put a review on here that was done from an angry position. I am very happy with Sames Red Barn Motors even though we have had our differences The General Manager has always treated me with respect and has bent over backwards personally to help me. I am guessing that I myself would not have my Home if it was not for the opportunity Sergio Martinez gave me at both Truck City and at Sames Red Barn Motors So Kudos to Him for always treating me with more respect than I have shown him.

Too bad I didnt get a chance to purchase a vehicle with them as I hoped. Their online inventory is not updated as it should be, their financing is extremely questionable, and their reps are not as responsive as I wouldve liked. I just sold my BMW X5 and was looking for something cheaper so I searched one and found a really nice Kia Sorento with low mileage. I did the online financing application and got approved with a 15% rate and payments at $187/mo + $800 down. I thought it was reasonable given my credit rating. When I reached out the following morning, I was told that vehicle had been sold a long time ago and wasnt available.Jose was supposed to take over looking for another vehicle for me and had the entire weekend to get back to me but never did, so I called on Monday and spoke to Angelica. She seemed interested to help me but then told me my interest rate and payments would increase with any vehicle with higher mileage. I have financed four vehicles in the past and I have NEVER heard of a bank changing their approval terms based on the mileage and type of vehicle!! That was a big red flag for me. But I was still hoping to find something decent with that monthly rate.Angelica never found a vehicle I was interested in so she passed it off to Luis to help me. They all said they would look for something and after almost the entire day, I would never get a response. If your inventory is that large and unorganized where you cant sort it out and at least give a few options to a prospective buyer in five hours or less, then thats a problem. I guess this goes back to not being prioritized if you are not there in person. One of the two vehicles I looked up myself and told Luis about was available, but he said because the mileage was 50K miles more than the one I got approved for with financing, my payment would go from $187/mo to $350/mo. Angelica said that new amount also, which made me wonder if they were ever truly planning to find me a vehicle with that low of a monthly payment. After much running around and consideration, I decided to move on and not purchase a vehicle with them.

I recently purchased my 2017 Toyota Camry from Sames Auto and based on all the wonderful reviews I knew I wanted Tracey Stump to be my sales person. I left a voicemail late on a Monday for Tracey. She returned my call first thing the next morning. She was very friendly and took the time to listen to my needs/concerns. The thing I remember most about the conversation is Tracey saying I don’t want this to be a stressful experience this should be a fun experience for you! Tracey set up an appointment for me to accommodate my work schedule. I was greeted at the door by Tracey with a warm hello and big smile. We viewed several cars and I again really appreciated the time Tracey took to focus on what I wanted. Not once did I feel pressured into purchasing something I didn’t want. We worked together over the next couple of days reviewing different makes and models until I found “my car”. The manager arranged for a quick delivery and Tracey made sure the car was immaculate before I took it for a test drive. She even helped me drop off my rental car. Tracey and Angela made sure I could take my car that evening.I found the entire staff at Sames Auto to be friendly, helpful, and caring. Tracey is a great salesperson. She’s knowledgeable, genuine, and gets the job done. If you’re shopping for a vehicle go see Tracey!

I had a rare and exceptional experience with Sames and Susana Woodward. First off, their dealership is well stocked and wonderful to deal with. Everyone gave me their utmost attention during my car purchase. Susana was, however, the standout by far. Her professionalism and extra mile attitude makes her the best sales person Ive ever encountered in my 20 years around the auto industry. If you have a car need a car in the Austin area, dont bother talking to anyone else!

Do not buy a car here. This is the most unprofessional, lying, scam artist dealership Ive ever had the displeasure of buying a car from. They didnt verify my insurance correctly to make sure I had the correct policy for the term of the loan. The sales person lied to me and told me I would have a 14% interest rate but when i signed the paper they switched to to 24% and didnt tell me. The car they sold me had a stripped oil pan and other issues wrong with it. This place is garbage and their staff will hang up in your face when you attempt to get the situation fixed. Never never do business with these scams artists.Dont listen to this garbage dealership. Ive called multiple times about the insurance and the lies they told me when they sold me the vehicle. No one is ever available to speak to about these issues, and the garbage employees they do transfer you to dont reply or hang up in your face after being extremely rude.Dont ever do business with this company. Dont even think about buying the trash cars they sell either.

I would highly advise against buying any vehicle from these con artists. They get you financed easily because their whole goal is to repo the car ..then your down payment becomes pure profit . I agreed to $800 down with $350 to follow in two weeks ..i asked for an additional week to get the $350 and was refused and they will turn my car off. I had heard stories about what a PIA they were and I can easily say that this has been a nightmare of an experience. Stay away before they get the chance of putting the screws to you .My rating is a big fat 00000 stars.

I give this dealership a 5 ++ star rating. Very professional and stress free experience while Im there shopping. Just bought my second car there and they have been consistent with their customer service and aid thru the buying process .I would highly recommend them to anyone. At Sames, I didnt feel like I was being pushed to do anything I didnt want to commit to. Everyone was willing to work with me and explained everything very well to me as I am a first time car buyer. They stayed in touch with me and always responded to me for help right away through text and email. The only thing could possibly have asked for was a fuller tank of gas before leaving but after all the amazing help and feeling at home, some day Id love to buy our second car from Sames and hope to work with Michael again!!

Bought a car from this place and they didnt even inspect my car cause I had to take it back cause car alarmed me that car needed oil change. Oh no but it was my only free oil change I was getting. Should have been done before it was sold then offer a free oil change. Im feeling a road side bail in the near future.

I never thought I would describe the process of buying a car as an “awesome experience”, but thanks to Daryl Quintilla (DQ), and the rest of the employees at Sames, it was! They all went above and beyond to make sure that I drove away in the new car that I not only wanted, but desperately needed. I now have an adorable new Ford Focus hatchback that I love! They helped me with arranging a manageable payment, and to build my credit back up.i will definitely buy my next car from them, and refer everyone I know in need of a car to them as well. If you are in the market to buy, go to them, you will not regret it! They are truly the best!

My fiance and I came out after being lied to buy another dealership Shell Shocked to say the least, but after talking to the staff, Lori and her sales manager work together and got us an awesome deal! They were attentive to our needs and put something together to work with our budget. I really feel they had our best interest at heart and put the best deal on the table for us not to fail.
