Im from a small town in Louisiana And grew up on hunt brother pizza I searched them out in Austin And was not disappointed. If youre in the area you gotta stop and try it but you must call ahead. My favorite is the thin crust and they dont skimp on the toppings!!

They had some wine in cans on sale. I did not even think to check expiration date because selling expired product is not legal. turns out these people will do anything to make a quick buck. I took a few sips and was sick instantly theyd sold me beverage that was nearly 2 years past fresh. They are still selling it it is the pink owl rose. My guess is they forgot it was in back stock and instead of tossing it they decided who cares if people get sick. I will be returning it and depending on how sick I get also be seeking medical cost. Avoid at all costs I will also be reporting to FDA and COA health.Edit to respond to response: Passing it off as manufacturing date is a clever lie but thats what it is. There was no other date on the can and they legally have to put expiration date so since that is the only date on the can it must be the expiration date. I have worked in canned goods before and if it was manufacturing data it would also point blank say manufacturing date and then the day.I am also attaching a picture of the pink can you sold they rebranded in 2020. Lol. Nice try. These are cans you did not sell in 2019. They have not sold or manufactured the pink cans since 2019. I am more inclined to think that you guys are just not willing to throw away product than that you were shipped a bad product. I dont leave bad reviews lightly but theres just no way that you guys worshipped cans recently from a design that they havent used since 2019.

Prices are high, but to be expected at a convenience store. Beer selection is even better than the shell at burnet and north loop. Spent 20 minutes just looking while Im poor. Will probably spend an hour in here with spare funds. 3 thumbs up.

Five stars to this place. It’s like.....a mall/market in a small store? Yet it does looks big when you walk in. For ice cream lovers.....come to here if you want decent price for top rated local ice cream to take home to. Very international diversity. Again, it’s mall.....it has tools, Foods, condiments, from water to beers includes coffee. Beers and wine options UT students might get overwhelmed? Easy to pick, maze feeling in some way but go there few times and you will know your spot. Cashier is very friendly and patient. I expected my check to arrive in my bank, as I swiped for a ice cream, ignorantly it hasn’t arrived yet, cashier said it’s ok. Come back next time. So much for cold cashiers, this one is very generous!!!! Waste your gas, waste your time and energy search general things you want IF you don’t come here....perfect to grab ice cream after break up with your ex on way to home or UT. Come here or it’s your loss!

Been going to the flag store for years. The selection cant be beat! Glad they were able to retain their charm and selection despite change in ownership over the past 3 years. On the pricey side, but I enjoy shopping here anyway because of the convenience.

This place has to have one of the most awesome selection of beers in all of Austin. Buy by the bottle or create your own.It has the feel of a NYC grocery store with the shelves stacked to the brim with pretty much everything you could need. Obviously not going to be a fully-stocked store, but you can get a little of everything, from candles, to ice cream, to tools, to well...beer. And lots of it.Super nice owners are the cherry on top.

Afraid of shopping here, now, because of one employee.I would give this store a 5 star review as it clearly has the best beer selection in town. I love browsing and searching for new and interesting beers that are imported into Texas. However, there is one big problem. There is a European lady who works there who has frankly scared me away from shopping here.I was cross referencing a list I had with beers in the store. This involved staying in the store and browsing around (and picking out beer!). She asked if I needed help, and I said no. She then insisted that I will not find the information I need by looking at the beer on the shelves. I assured her that I knew what I was doing, and that I was not going to burden someone with a list of over 200 varieties of beer that I had kept a record of. I knew what I was doing, and I was finding the beer that I wanted. However, she kept coming back, wasting other customers time by not being available to check them out, all to tell me that what I was doing was wrong and that I had to ask someone who worked there if they have the beers. I was cross referencing what they had with the list that I had, which allowed me to look, in detail, at the wonderful variety of beers offered in this establishment. Of course, this takes time. I spent about half an hour there, immersed in the passionate world of brewing. She was insulting my tried and true method of researching and cross referencing beer, and she was intimidating me by constantly telling me that my method of finding beer was inferior to asking the employees and she had the gall to tell me that I was wasting customers time by, what was essentially minding my own business and picking beer that I found to be interesting and beer that was on the list. I was also becoming familiar with their selection because I knew that would likely be shopping there in the future. If there any bottleneck to maximizing sales to this place, it is through this lady. Why? Because she was literally discouraging me from browsing their beer selection. Who, in their right mind, would discourage customers, who are minding their own business, not bothering any of the employees, from exploring the range of products offered in their store? I would have gotten more beer, but I was afraid that, by being there longer, she was going to perceive me as a threat and kick me out of the store. She was actively telling me that what I was doing was wrong. I will shop here again if she understands not to intimidate and harass customers.

When I need to find a limited release or obscure beer, this is my first stop. Beer prices are a little higher than other markets, but thats the price you pay for a great selection. Im still bitter about the switch from a flat-rate build-your-own 6-pack to individually priced beers, but I cant stay mad at Flag Store. I love it too much.

One of the greatest convenience stores around central austin! The staff are super nice and they have a huge selection of beer, wine, and ciders. Theres also quite a large food and frozen goods selection so its a great one stop shop for anything you need. I love dropping by to pick up random things and generally just browse around.

Bad gas. I filled up here exclusively, got a Service Engine Soon light that would not go off. I just spent $400 on testing at Luxury Auto (north Lamar) to learn the gas was above the legal limit for ethanol by more than 30%. If they do this to their premium gas, who knows what they do to lower grades

I love this place. I think I could end the review by simply saying this is the Toy Joy of convenience stores. Youre either going to love it or youre simply not going to get it at all.Lets dispense with the complaints. Yes, its overpriced compared to a large retailer like HEB or Specs. Its a convenience store, what do you expect? Youre paying for the fact that its a small place, close to home, that you can get in and out of quickly. No, its not as polished as some of the larger corporate owned stores youre used to seeing. Its a small mom and pop style operation in the middle of a neighborhood. Some people are really expecting too much. Now, lets talk about what they get right. One, they are constantly improving the store. When I first started going here, it was two simple pumps and the main draw was that they had the cheapest gas in town. Reliably, consistently (and its still really cheap). Then they expanded the beer selection. Then they put in four pumps because the lines were so long. Then they became an actual Shell branded store. Now theyre expanding the store and adding more refrigerators and more shelf space. Im used to seeing stores like this just sit on their laurels and slowly go down over time, with maybe one or two half-assed remodels over time to address seriously glaring faults until the store finally goes bankrupt and someone else starts over. The beer selection really cant be beat, and it seems to expand every time Im in there. Plus, where else can you mix and match your own six pack with such a selection of microbrews? No, its not cheap, but its not unreasonably priced either.Theres also a fine selection of gourmet chocolates where most stores would just have Milky Ways and Hershey bars. Dig around and theres something unique and interesting around every corner. Its the only place I buy gas and I often go in just to talk to the shop owners. Its the best neighborhood store Ive ever had in any of the various neighborhoods Ive lived in.Heres the deal, point me to a better neighborhood convenience store in Hyde Park. Or just about anywhere, really. Ill wait.

This low-profile convenience store attached to a Shell gas station may just have the best beer selection in the entire city. Hundreds of single bottles, which you can combine to form the perfect 4 or 6 pack. Everything from $2 Sam Adams IPAs to $4 Hitachino, Dogfish and any other foreign or domestic micro-brew you can think of. Everything is stored cold, so its a perfect place to grab something that will be consumed within minutes. Ive also never seen a store with a better selection of chocolate covered pretzels, nuts, fruit, and anything else that can be covered in chocolate.

Although the sign on the front of the building clearly states that they do check cashing, when I went inside and presented my payroll check which wasnt a large sum I was denied. The excuse was they were under new management and didnt have any data or records that showed how the process worked. But honestly I got the impression this was more of a discrimination case because they are middle eastern and I know other people have cashed checks there. It wasnt a pleasant experience and they really have no real explanation for turning me away.

Every time I even think about buying Bud Light here I feel guilty, because they have possibly the greatest selection of beers in town. Serpentine rows of beers writhe off in strange directions far into the distance, more bottles than seems physically possible. Each new turn in the labyrinth (labeerinth?) reveals new hard-to-find gems, and even to exit the maze youre confronted with yet more sections of goodies - artisanal chocolates, wacky products, gourmet sandwiches, and the like. This place is too expensive to visit regularly (youre a fool if you buy Bud Light here), but if youre looking for an off-beat Dogfish Head vintage and nowhere else seems to have it, Hyde Park might be your best bet.

This store has reached icon status in Austin -- because of the flags, the wall of beer and beverage, the corn-maze-like interior, the fact its crammed floor to ceiling with hard to find food and necessities for any apartment dweller, not just the hipsters. As much tourist attraction as convenience store.
