We got this awesome credenza from here, and although its an expensive store I thought it was very reasonably priced (under 1000) I googled the brand I bought and I got a very good deal. Yeah, the lack of help to load/move the furniture on Saturdays is a little weird, but they let you hold it for 3 days after paying, and we managed. Great place for mid century lovers

Tons of beautiful pieces of vintage and midcentury furniture. A little pricier than some of the other places nearby, but the pieces are all high quality and they do a really nice job of refinishing them. Nice staff too!

High-end curated Mid-century Modern interiors and furnishings store. Everything here is awesome. I will say the prices are a bit high but its all in one place. You could easily furnish an entire house in authentic modern decor and furniture. They also carry all kinds of glassware, decor, mirrors, jewelry, and more. They dont sell anything that is in bad condition. all the pieces have either been refurnished, reupholstered, or are just in great original condition. Even if you cant afford this store its a great place to stop in. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well which is not always the case in a store of this caliber.

Happened to be visiting Austin for a day and decided to visit this place. Wow! An excellent selection of Mid-century modern furniture, art, decorations. I only came to look and ended up with 2 beautiful Italian Mid-century chairs. I couldnt resistAnd they know someone that will deliver them to LA. They follow the protocols during the pandemic, all employees are wearing masks, only few small groups of customers are allowed to go in the store at once. I really like their furniture, some paintings really caught my eye as well. A little pricey but I think its still worthy, really beautiful pieces.

I can’t wait to go back! The pieces in the store are unique and loaded with character and quality! It is a good size showroom for browsing or searching for that one of a kind statement piece. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Part furniture store, part museum, 100% worth checking out. Especially if you’re into mid century modern decor. I found some awesome stuff at surprisingly low-ish prices.I was searching for the right 60’s era credenza and found it at Uptown. Along with some other great finds. This kind of quality new would of been out of my price range but instead I found the perfect piece and, I’m no longer the oldest thing in my apartment!

Gorgeous pieces--most refurbished, reupholstered. I dont get it when reviewers say prices are steep. They are are in line with other stores with well curated pieces in great condition--only there is no place in Austin like Uptown Modern. One of a kind!

Nice, clean store with some really neat pieces! However, we were not greeted by anyone when we walked in, the prices were on the high side and there is no public restroom.

Called in to ask about the price of a piece. The person who answered seemed unprepared to provide that information and went to get somebody. I guess she forgot about me because I waited for almost half an hour before giving up. Wasnt even placed on hold, so I got to hear all of the background noise and conversations in the shop. Im not sure what seemed so weird about calling in to ask for the price of something, especially right now. I dont think Ill be looking here again, which is a shame. They have a lot of beautiful pieces.

Excellent mid century modern furniture and decor shop with a large, revolving inventory. Decent prices, especially since most pieces have been professionally refinished and reupholstered. Very friendly owner and staff. Lots of regulars browsing that were known by name. If I lived in ATX, I would be here every weekend!

This place has a lot of nice stuff. It felt very retro modern to me. Definitely some solid furniture and various decor. Its definitely one of the more expensive places though.

Weird experience. I went in on Saturday 4/1/18 to purchase a cabinet for my home. They DO NOT have anyone to help load furniture on Saturdays, the day most people have off. The staff person was stuck having to tell customers that they wouldnt help but also abrupt about it. They were quick to volunteer a service I could call and pay extra. I did not need delivery, just an extra set of hands to load. Something furniture stores should have. I talked to an owner or manager today and got a very smug reply that they simply have no one to help load on Saturdays. Ever. At a furniture store. That hits single people pretty hard. Especially when you work during the week.Second, the prices did not impress either. You dont charge full antique price for an item that has been refinished, the value has been damaged that way. Between the customer unfriendly policy and the odd attitude I got from the staff on both days I tried to buy a piece of furniture, and the mixed quality of items and high prices, they have permanently lost my business.

I had the rack of lamb and my date had the sea bass. Both were AMAZING, the service was great, and the environment is very authentic feeling and fun.

Youll be transported back in time inside this shop. An excellent selection of 1950-1970s couches, chairs, night stands, and tables. Lots of cool artwork and knick knacks galore. The prices are not low, but youll enjoy the experience.

While this isnt the place to get garage-sale prices, Uptown Modern has by far the best selection of quality mid-century modern furniture in the city. It really is like walking into a furniture from the 1950s, and they are very knowledgeable about the manufacturer of each piece.
