When I first ordered from this place the food was good and I had no problem with it. So this morning when my husband said he wanted some breakfast I said I will order some food from Thumbs up Diner. Oh how disappointed we were. The food was horrible and when I tell you we threw away 26 plus dollars worth of food I am not lying. If I used my card I would have stopped the transaction. I ordered turkey bacon for him and they put ham on his scramble not to mention they put more potatoes then they should have, the pecan pancakes were so dry and tasteless and the grits were watery. When I called they were so nonchalant about it. Just horrible!!! I dont want anyone to have the experience we had here.
1. Delicious, fresh, homemade taste! Our party had omelets, French toast, eggs, bacon, chicken tenders and it was all top notch.Note: The double dipped French toast is awesome! The way it should be at all breakfast places!2. Generous portions, good pricing.3. Great service; friendly and professional.Thank you, Thumb’s Up, we will be back!
For a Sunday during brunch, the wait was not extremely long. The server was nice and polite. Food came in reasonable time, given how busy it was. We ordered the shrimp and grits, it was okay, not the best I’ve tasted. Omelette was soft and fluffy, veggies were roasted evenly. The chicken sandwich and onion rings tasted better than the others. Rings and chicken breast were fried to perfection. Overall it was a nice experience. I think they handled a stressfully busy morning, very well. I’ll be going back.
FINALLY another GREAT Breakfast Restaurant in West Cobb. THUMBS UP Breakfast was delicious!!!. The food was great.. Waitress was Great.. The food was inviting and is tempting enough go return the next day for the same dish. My wife ordered the catfish, in which I snacked on while I ate chicken and waffles. All I can say is that it was Good eating....
Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Hot chocolate coffee was yummy. Wouldve given 5 stars, but my order was made incorrectly. But it was corrected, and tasty. We will definitely return.
I have been scoring pretty big lately w/ the BEST breakfast spots & today was nothing short of divineMy food tasted a-mazing!!! Every last bite right til the very end. I had to throw a smoked wing on there too since @thumbsupdiner is known for theirs! My service w/ Makayla was also awesome! This is my 3rd location I’ve visited. The food never disappoints. Treat yourself soon!Follow on IG DivaofDining
Love, love, love this place. We have never actually dinned in, we always order TOGO. The food is hearty and made with love. Biscuits are fluffy and delicious. Their Chicken and Waffles is one of my favorite dishes. We also love the fact that they have vegetarian patties. I just had their coffee for the first time today and it is DELICIOUS. The employees I have interacted with when I call in my order and go in to pickup are very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My 2nd day in a row, 1st time trying this location. Close to me to travel. Food is seasoned well. Please keep an eye on portions vs prices...Wheres my grits? and temperature of meat grilled chicken in my spuds was cold, all hot food should be served hot if not otherwise specified. Ill share to friends and family and try again. Happy food is we need!! Not bad Thumbs Up! Thanks
Unique diner. Friendly, patient wait staff. I didnt know if catfish and eggs was going to work but its their specialty and it was very good.
Good food. Eyed the cinnamon buns after I ordered and ended up too full after the pecan waffle and bacon to get one. On the list for next time. Such good food! And some unique food combos. The special was shrimp and waffles. But they did have the traditional chicken and waffles on the menu. Must go!
Great place to eat real breakfast place stay crowded on Sundays but very well organized.
Very rude customer service,Caprice the owner actually called my daughter(very bold )and (EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL)asked US not to order from her anymore, after we have been patronizing for awhile because we complained about wet French toast which means it wasn’t done..French toast should never be WET..as well wings being slimy after we asked that they be cooked longer..IF YOU CANT TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM,then maybe the restaurant business isn’t for you..Being RUDE gets you nowhere..Definitely will report to BBB as well as Health Department.Guess you have to Dine-In to get treated with RESPECT ✊🏽
Service is poor! We walked and and were told to sit anywhere so we sat up front. Once we sat down the young lady sat other people and proceeded to serve them after we’d been sitting there for over 10 minutes. The young man that was serving was going from talking to the young lady to helping just one table. I understand short staffing issues in America but this wasn’t that. We didn’t even get menus but the table after us got menus and drinks.
The servers are quite slow the food was good but it just takes him a long time to bring it out to you. And then make too many trips to the kitchen to finish you out your food is almost gone by the time they bring you salt and pepper, Charlie, jelly, surround, anything that you need from the kitchen
Great little diner. Stopped on at lunch time and got breakfast. The omelette and grits were very good. I also had my first experience with a multi-grain biscuit and I really liked it. I will definitely be coming back.
The food was good. The food was hot. The server was professional. Cozy and comfortable was the atmosphere. The price was shocking for the large portion of food. Great price I will say.
I went to the Thumbs up in Austell. The customer service and atmosphere was great but out of the 3 orders which each of us order separately had something missing from our order. One had a small amount of meat & the biscuit was hard. Second order was missing the eggs. Third order was missing the cream cheese an ingredient in the Yukon Omelet. I understand that you should check the order but I didnt expect that many errors my suggestion is to leave the bags open to view the order. I will be back but lesson has been learned.
Nice place to pop out to for some good breakfast.
If you want to visit this place, I recommend you visit it on Saturday or Sunday since the other days I have ordered food and it is not so good, I do not understand what happens, do they have cooks only the two days, the food is very good definitely from now on I will only order the weekends of the week
Great food with pleasant staff. An area of improvement would be to HIRE MORE PEOPLE. There has been several occasions this location has closed early due to lack of staff showing up for work. The culture is fun & upbeat, the store really need more people working. 💞
Apparently a very popular spot. Great southern breakfast, sizeable portions, a little short staffed(1 server) but we were taken care of. Calm friendly atmosphere, definitely going back
It was a great experience all around. The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my sister-in-law birthday was a success. We will definitely be going back again. Special shout out to our waiter Alex. He couldnt have done a better job. Thank you Thumbs Up.
I had bigger expectations for this place, but I was a little let down. The service wasnt on point. Its not well communicated that you seat yourself when you come in. On our particular visit, a couple came in at least 15 min after we did and somehow got their food much sooner. I ordered the Bagel Lox. For some reason I thought it would come already put together. The pancakes are wheat based I think, so if you dont like that kind dont come here. The pancakes were tough and not fluffy.
Food was great, order was wrong. Ubereats wont refund my money.
I went there with my family today, ordered the burger melt. I dont usually eat burgers, but OMG! This is one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! 🤩 Before trying it, I thought serving a burger on rye was courageous and was considering asking for a bun instead, but do yourself a favor, dont substitute it for a bun!! The crispness of the bread and the softness of the content (burger, cheese, mushrooms) are simply perfect together. The sweet potato fries were perfectly done and seasoned. Cant wait to go back!
Food is amazing everything we ordered was great. I had the smoked wings and waffle and the wife had their french toast which can be enjoyed even without syrup it was that good and a side of their fried pork chops. Service was fast and friendly our server Shakie was great and very knowledgeable about the menu she was right once you taste the food you will most definitely be back.
Food and service was amazing!!! The sassy scramble and the French toast was sooo good!!! Will definitely be back. Youre missing out if you havent tried this place yet. You wont be disappointed!!!
Kind of gross. There are flies flying around and landing on your food. If there are this many flies in the dining room, I can only imagine how unsanitary and gross the kitchen is! I told 2 different workers that they should give out fly swatters with their menus. No one cared. Definitely wont go back here.EDIT TO RESPOND TO OWNER: Youre sorry we didnt like flies landing on our food?! Well gee thanks! Are you saying there ARENT numerous flies in your dining room landing on peoples food while theyre trying to eat?
A very small diner but the food was good as well as the service. There are a lot of menu choices and the employees were very welcoming.
We were in town for my sons birthday. So for breakfast I googled breakfast place and they came up. It was so good. Like literally everything. And the waitress was so sweet. I wish I could remember her name!
Mostly breakfast options. A few meals you can build, all a la carte. I ordered the fried fish, spinach and mushrooms as well as onion rings. It was ok. My companion ordered bagel cream cheese and lox and a large side of grits and cheese. Well the large grits was no bigger than a tea cup. The cream cheese on the bagel hardly covered the hole. For $12.99 that is unacceptable. Wont be returning or recommend.
Wasn’t as good as I expecting it to be from reading all the reviews…We got a potato skillet it didn’t have any onions and bell peppers like it said and the smoked chicken was really dry… One piece of French toast was almost 4 dollars didn’t have any kind of topping or powdered sugar just a cooked piece of bread.shrimp & grits was ok.. I probably wouldn’t go back or recommend it..
Took an hour from time order placed on Grubhub to get food. People were nice that worked there though. Grubhub reported the food would be ready 30 minutes earlier than it actually was. Uncertain which party is at fault but impacted my morning schedule negatively.
Had brunch. Outstanding! It was very busy. Saw over 20 meals leave on take out orders. I had the pork chop breakfast. Awesome. We had a great server. Even though it was packed. People waiting for a table the whole time we were there. Not a long wait really.
Called to order a veggie bagel like i have before and at various locations. The female who answered the phone had no idea what it was, had to get someone else on the phone. When i picked up order, the bagel was on white, i asked for multi grain and it was not grilled as requested. Will probably drive further to a different location for better service and for what I asked for.
Visiting from California and stopped by this place on a recommendation. Did not disappoint! The service was excellent and the food was even better. I’ll be back on my next trip into town.
It was delicious! We were surprised by how quick the food came out, and it was steaming fresh! We will be coming back thank you for the amazing breakfast :)
Great local spot. Our server was so sweet, Sam
Food was fresh and very tasty. Our server was very nice and pleasant.
Love the fried catfish. Grits can be better
So happy I found this place! Diverse and delicious breakfast options. Wonderfully friendly staff. And I love that they pull up my last order to make repeats easier (especially when someone in your family has food sensitivity).
Cool small restaurant our server was awesomeeeee shrimp and grits were great! Will come back
Ordered foos to go here for Mother’s Day. The service was a little slow while waiting for my food. Be sure to check your order before leaving. I was missing an item when I got home and my omelette was prepared incorrectly. They were kind about fixing it. The food it’s self is delicious. I like that this location accepts debit payments as well. Love their food.
I like the setup and atmosphere in Douglasville better but the food is good and service was top notch. The only bad thing was they had grape jelly or peach preserves and I dont like either, so I wish they had better or more choices.
Fast friendly service. Never had shrimp and waffles before but it was pretty good. The real treat was the homemade blueberry Jam that came with the toast
PLEASE FIND A NEW COOK FAST ! I NOTICED YOU GUYS IS HIRING A FOR COOK AND THE FOOD TASTE AS SUCH ! BRING BACK THE COOK FROM 6 MONTHS AGO ! BECAUSE THE QUALITY OF THE SALMON CAKES IS HORRIBLE! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! 👎
Husband and I love this place. Good plant based and pescatarian options, great service. Lovely way to start a Sunday.
Try the double dipped French Toast. Excellent choice.
Great food for great prices! Fried fish is scrumptious and full of flavor! Food was hot. Service was good. Place a bit small, so large crowds are not favorable. We had 6 ppl + 2 babies...biggest table was a booth. Other 2 ppl had to sit at the bar away from us. Hwevr, overall was pleased!
Super tasty food, super fast food, and everybody there was really cool
Everything thing is good! However order to go definitely check your bag.
Food was excellent. Our server was busy or new, slow on coffee and tea refills. Still worth the stop.
Some of the best food Ive ever eaten, definitely in this area. Will order again!
The staff were very friendly and nice. There are only single bathrooms. It is a very small space. The food was good but a little dry.
My experience was definitely sub-par! Once seated, it took quite a while before our order was taken. They ran out of the biscuits, which is one of the reasons that I usually love Thumbs Up. Also, our server wasnt open to substituting the eggs for grits on the Low-Country Meal, but the manager said no problem. Not to mention that my fish was over-cooked. In their defense, I believe the server was new on the job. From now on Ill stick to the Edgewood Ave location.
Lovely diner atmosphere with amazing food, friendly, attentive staff, and awesome throwback jams to make it lively. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. SO FLAVORFUL! This dish is a big portion of mild Cajun shrimp with a delicious blend of peppers, tomatoes, onions, topped with a savory gravy. I added eggs and spinach to this meal and, BOY, I’ve got two words. STUFFED AND SATISFIED! I will be coming back.
Bad customer service. Coffee was cold and food had no flavor. Bacon tasted like it was cooked in microwave. I only gave it a 1 star because i feel sorry for the owner or the person that hired that staff.🤷
I was so excited to try the Austell location as it is closest to me. Well my experience was beyond disappointing, needless to say this will be my last visit to this location. First, from the time of order to food to table was 50 minutes. I ordered fish and grits, my fish was room temp, eggs were cold, grits were the only thing that was hot, my biscuit which is usually one of the highlights of my usual order was hard as a rock. My son was visiting, so I’d bragged about how great the food was, his reply was “we could have gone to Waffle House”.I started to speak to a manger, but the experience was set so I won’t return, will continue to support the East Point and Marietta St. location. On a final note, the sweet tea was the only thing that was consistent with the other locations, which is how they ended with an overall 2 out 5 stars.
Pleasant environment, staff and delicious food. The hot tea selection was awesome. Overall I loved it!
Alex was a great guy. Beyond that it gets ugly. Cold food. Pancake what? Cold and doughy. I felt our food order was an after thought and sat. Toast not done in a toaster. Had a reheated microwave texture and a funny smell. Potatoes on my skillet were old baked stale tasting with no flavor. If the owner likes the food currently fire yourself. Your basic breakfast lacks seasoning and flavor. Fried breakfast potatoes need that initial seasoning. You seriously need restaurant impossible. If the gentleman in the back went to cooking school you need to get your money back son if you have never been to cooking school you might consider going. I have no training whatsoever as a chef and I could come in there right now and cook a basic skillet 10 times better than you will ever make one. Consider that a supermarket stakeout challenge. Shrimp and grits I have never had them but the first time I do I want them to be a memorable experience and Im willing to bet yours are not based on your basic breakfast. I do want to thank you for supplying hospital workers their food though. Im sure that is the bulk of your customer clientele.
All the restaurants on uber need to be re-evaluated, when the pandemic hit, everything was good afterwards, a lot of restaurants fell off with checking notes, preparation of food, & just not paying attention. How in the world did you forget Salmon Croquettes? A whole order? Shaking my head!
Great staff great food
Problem with waot staff bring me my food with out a mask 😷
The food was great!!! The service lacked due to not enough staff. The food was good enough to ignore the slow staff or lack of staff. Ill definitely go again!!! Not a bad thing on the menu!!!
I drive 4hrs each way for their catfish! All of the food is amazing!
I didnt have a good experience the first time I came to this restaurant, but my wife talked me into it. If you are hungry dont come here of you want to eat in a timely manner. I understand its not fast food but damn. Food was fair at best, add the slow/poor service this will be the last time I come here to eat. Thumbs Down 👎🏿
Too crowded and small. Food was mediocre. Never got pancakes that were ordered to the point by the time the waitress came around and saw that we still hadnt received it after telling her that...we were done eating and she just didnt put it on the tab. My other half however enjoyed the salmon croquettes.
Y’all are going to think I say everything is good because I’m giving a lot of 5 stars but honey, this place is good too!!I have eaten here several times now and I must say that the food resonates with me very well! 😂. We definitely get along! I like the bacon, egg, and cheese on wheat. The grits are good. My friend had pork chops and they were good. I mean, it’s good. Now it’s not like down home, Granny in the kitchen good, but it’s good! The staff is Always very nice as well. I mean they tend to you like they came from Chick Fil A! That’s 5 stars in my book!
Lets start off by saying the table was not clean at all. I had to ask the host to wipe off the booth seats. When the waitress got go the table, I had to ask her to wipe the table down as there was food, hair, and particles on it.Our food was good, however, it was incorrect. I asked for eggs with cheese. We found out our waitress didnt write down cheese 🤷🏾♀️. Oh well. My boyfriend asked for eggs with his meal, and we had to beg another waitress to obtain these eggs from the kitchen. The other thumbs up locations are better than this one. The Austell locations needs a little work.
Breakfast is A1. I love there menu selection its plenty of different food items to choose from. Customer service was good as well. They also play nice R&B and slow jams while you enjoy your meal. Best breakfast place Ive been to in Georgia.
Nothing worse than a business that closes its door prior to the time listed. Last customers should be adhered to up to closing time. A huge lost of revenue adds up when you turn away customers at 2:30 for a 3pm listed closing time year over year! I had a party of 5 I had been urging to patron this business only to be disappointed!
Great 1st time experience, wholesome staff and good food. I recommend getting Lous coffee (hot coco+coffee w/ whipped cream).
I love Thumbs Up and was too excited to learn a location opened up so close! We ordered online and they called to double check something on the order. Customer service is A1 and the food was so good. Have been missing that french toast 🥰 the biscuit&gravy too. Everything came correctly and was SO F*****G GOOD!
Finally a great place for breakfast. Staff was great and the food was delicious. I got eggs over medium, potatoes, sausage and grits. A runner brought my food. Everything was great but the eggs were over hard. My server came by to check and before I could even say anything she said my eggs were over cooked and got me new ones. My son got crunchy french toast that was amazing. It was a busy Saturday so we had to wait for a while to get our food but it was totally worth the wait.
Just left, first visit. Five 🌟 five. Another five star Breakfast. 10/10/21!! Crowded, but worth the wait.
Nice place, good service and good prices.
Bad service, worse food. McDonalds is better. Dont waste your time.
We went there a few days ago for the first time. I love the diner feel. They do practice social distancing. We were greeted at the door and was told to seat ourselves. The waitress was great and we got our food in a timely matter,as it is cooked to order. We ordered pancakes and French toast meals. The pancake were thick but good,BUT THE FRENCH TOAST OMG U HAVE TO TRY.
This diner was the very worst. I will never dine here again. Save your time and money. I asked for soft scrambled eggs, my eggs were server hard dry and cold. I ordered the smoked wings the wings was unseasoned and over cooked, my waffle was very under cooked. I had been waiting all week to visit this place ever since my friend told me she spotted this diner in the austell area. I was not impressed at all. This diner is cute however the food was awful.
I work here and its really a great place . I love there food . especially the french toast is my fav!!! 👍👍👍
