Ran a few errands this morning and decided to stop by Cenacle Coffee and Bistro for breakfast. I really wanted the fried green tomatoes but they only offer them on Sundays. So i went with a little healthier option and ordered the Veggie omelet. It was great.Great atmosphere and service. Special thanks to Krissy. I will be returning soon.
We patronized this establishment early morning today. I ordered the breakfast menu...almost all of it. It was so worth every bite. This is one of our new favs!!! Everything was amazing: ambience, customer service, fresh made food, coffee, and most of all the wait was short for our meal. This blackberry pound cake was heaven in our mouth. God is so Good!
I was really excited about this place based on the reviews. The place’s exterior is very comfortable and quaint- although it sits besides a main highway (Veterans Memorial HWY) If you’re not bothered by the sound of large service 18-wheeler-trucks rushing and honking, then you will enjoy it too. We waited 50 minutes to get our food, ordered the chicken with velvet waffles and a breakfast burrito. My husband said that the chicken tasted like it was cooked in old grease, I thought the burrito’s tortilla was burnt, the only thing we both enjoyed from our meal was the velvet waffles. We also ordered two biscuits hoping that we could have them prior to eating breakfast( we figured they were made already), but they never brought them to us. We were charged for the biscuits but later removed from our tab by the waitress. Sad - we won’t be returning, its short staffed and poorly managed.
My sister and I stopped by The Cenacle Coffee & Bistro for Sunday morning breakfast. My sister ordered cheese grits and the Cenacle Honey biscuit with Chicken and Egg and Cheese. I ordered strawberry smoothie and breakfast platter with beef sausage, egg and cheese and waffles. We really enjoyed the outside seating and game area.
If you’re looking for an amazing, local, affordable, and delicious place to eat look no further. I stopped at Cenacle for breakfast just passing through town and I had the most AMAZING grits I’ve ever eaten in my 27 yrs. of life. The service is fantastic, the food is phenomenal, the vibe is lax, and for 2 people I paid less than $15! 12/10 recommend
Love love love the face that this place is black owned. They offer Jenga and good vibes, good serene music, like legit its a cool place and I cant wait to come back. Im giving 3 stars because they didnt have anything I wanted. I wanted the beyond vegan burger- they were out. Salmon croquettes-they were out. And the good sides are only sold on Sundays apparently so I didnt order anything but a smoothie. Im willing to give this place another try, its promising. I arrived and left hungry tho.
My friend and I are traveling from Nashville and wanted to try someplace local for breakfast. I’m SO happy she found The Cenacle because we could not have had a better experience elsewhere. Service was great, our server was so enthusiastic and helpful. The food? Omg! Best grits I’ve ever had! And when we got our bill, I just could NOT with how inexpensive it was! Love this place and will come back next time I’m in the area.
After following them on Facebook and reading the reviews I was super excited to try this place. I first tried to order over the phone but who ever answered picked up and just placed me on hold for 20 minutes. I finally hung up and continued to drive because it was Sunday and Fathers day weekend so Im giving them the benefit of the doubt. They seem to have a large party and more guest in the restaurant when I arrived. I placed my order rather quickly. I asked the young lady how long would my wait be because I would rather wait in my car because there was no room to sit at the moment. She said 30 minutes. I go back in after 35 minutes thinking that my order would be ready...but no. Im not sure what happened but the young man working was trying to help me out. The young lady working the register was double duty...taking orders, refilling drinks, and who knows what else. She was working really hard but I think a better system or more employees would have helped...??? The young man Paul who provided excellent customer service helped get my order out. I finally made it home and the food was blah at best. My collards were so salty, my salmon croquettes were burned and looked more like hush puppies 😒 and the mac and cheese did not taste homemade. And to make matters worse the prices were different than what was listed on the menu. I threw the mac and cheese away, and sipped water with every bite of my greens. My son had the red velvet waffles but nothing about them said red velvet. It was just bland waffle batter and red food coloring. He did not want to eat them. It was a waste of $40+ honestly. I think if I go back ...it wont be on a Sunday because theyre not prepared for large crowds in the kitchen.
This was a fantastic find! The food was amazing and the coffee was better! The service and friendly atmosphere here made it the best brunch we have had for a long time! They were not overly busy and everything was made to order, but well worth the wait.
Ive been here about 3 or 4 times and have enjoyed the service each time! The customer service is exceptional and the people are so friendly. Food was very fresh and made to order with I personally love! It may take a little bit to receive your order but its worth it to me!
I am so glad I was able to try this place today! I had the chicken salad on a croissant and it was literally the best croissant I ever had in my life. Chicken salad was delicious. Well cooked and seasoned fries and very tasty pasta salad. Will definitely be back to try some coffees!
My experience here was horrible myself along with two other people arrived around 11:00 a.m on a Sunday. The waitress didnt acknowledge us until 40 minutes later and that was only because the lady at the register told her to take our orders along with a guy who came in before us orders. Two of our orders came out around 12:45 or so the young lady in the back said table 20 pick up there was a waitress and and waiter neither one of them grabbed our food from the counter.I walked over to our waitress to inform her our food had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes the guy waiter said thats not yall food we havent even started making your food not even a second later hes handing me the two plates that had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes. Our food was cold I asked could mines go in the microwave at this time I was so disappointed in this establishment I guess it was the manager I spoke with not sure she nodded her head then I said oh yeah by the way my husband still havent received his food the waiter handed him his food minus the bacon he ordered when asked about the bacon the guy said oh ok so I asked how long will the bacon take he ignored me so we canceled the bacon. My husband paid the bill he was given a apology and was told that they are understaffed I get it far as being understaffed but there may have been 5 or 6 parties and two people waiting on tables it was a bad experience for me and my family all around I definitely will not be returning plus the food was not all that at all the pancakes tasted like an omelet maybe they were cooked on the same grill. We each ordered the breakfast platter.Bad experience will not be returning
This spot is definitely a hidden gem! The food is TOP TIER and service is a 10/10 you guys. Cool atmosphere with R&B music in the background. They will be starting Live Jazz music next month too, so I’ll definitely be back for that. What makes it even more amazing is that its BLACK OWNED.
This place was pretty great. Good customer service, lovely beautiful young ladies who serve well, they also offer free mini games that you could play while you wait like sack toss, or mini golf if those are the correct names of the games, my mistake if not. Everyone was lovely and polite. I might have to come again by myself sometime next week perhaps. The chicken and waffle deluxe was great.
Awesome food love the Atmosphere my husband and I ate a little brunch/lunch there today and we were pleased. We even started eating outside but it drizzle a bit so we finished inside. We loved it!!
AMAZING restaurant! The egg omelet was delicious and a good size, the waffles were cooked perfectly and good flavor, eggs had good flavor. The people here are very nice, and the place is very clean.
Food is delicious!! The waiter was very nice, polite and patient when we was trying to get our order together. Would recommend this place to everyone. I will definitely eat here again❤
I absolutely loved this place. The ambience was pleasant. However, I dont know which out beats the other, the A-mbience or the A-wesome customer service team. Either way theyve got an A out of me. Pleasant personalities, the food and beverages were cooked/prepared to order. The temp and taste was right. If I had to say what they could improve on it would be how customers view the menu. Im not a fan of scanning a piece of paper with my mobile device to view a menu. Other than that very nice spot and I will visit again. Hopefully the menu will eventually be posted.
Ordered a coffee through Uber Eats so i was really hoping this was going to be good coffee considering I was paying $8 for it after fees (Not Cenacles fault on cost thats Uber Eats) but got my coffee and it is probably the worst coffee Ive had in my life. If you want coffee flavored water then this is the place to go. Theres absolutely no hint of coffee, no smells, no tastes, literally almost just dark water. If youre going to be a coffee spot you have to make good coffee, your basic black coffee does not hold up at all against any other coffee shop in the state.
Hey,...we decided on this business for breakfast on our route to Bama based on it being an independent...all we can say is WOW. Incredible high quality breakfast, not a single complaint. Our server was excellent.
So this place showed up as a coffee shop when I searched for coffee. Im from Mississippi and just passing through town. This place should consider themselves a restaurant. We ordered two iced coffees, simple. We’ve waited 15 minutes and still no one has even made a move to touch the espresso machine to make our drinks. Don’t get me wrong, the food in here looks delicious, but I would not suggest this for anyone just wanting a simple coffee.
Great spot for breakfast. Was really happy with the vegan platter. Good choice of vegan meats, just egg, and French toast. Few places serve all of these. Like reviews say, it takes a good while longer than you are used to for food, so call ahead or be ready to wait at least 30 minutes for food after ordering. Overall really friendly people, community feel, and tasty food.
The food is soooo good! We had the loaded omelet and chicken and waffles. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was fast and the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely be back the next time I come this way. It was worth every bit and will definitely recommend. Its a very cozy spot.
Just moved to the area and decided to take mom to lunch / show her the house. We both got clubs and potato salad. I got tomato basil soup. The food was phenomenal. If you need it in a hurry Id order ahead. But it is made fresh, and delicious. The tea was good, iced.coffee was good. The desserts looked amazing. Cant wait to go back and try some of their breakfast items too!!
They made me the best shrimp and grits I have ever had!! They were so savory!! I will be coming back!!
5 stars does NOT even give this hidden gem of a piece of heaven bistro justice! If, IF, anyone is dissatisfied with the food here- you need to get yourself checked out. Unfortunately, I only had the pleasure of tasting the most moist, incomparably savory and sweet chicken and waffles in the tri-state- area, accompanied by the most decadent hash brown casserole to ever grace my pallet with its presence. I highly recommend this one of a kind spot!
This was a very pleasant experience! The customer service was great, the food was great, and the prices are great! The ambiance is comfy neighborhood cafe complete with jazz music playing softly in the background. This is definitely someplace you could come with your laptop and get some work done. They serve breakfast all day and have a variety of rotating desserts so if you see a dessert you like, buy it right then so you don’t miss out! I had the breakfast bowl with bacon (you can choose any meat you like), the hash brown casserole and strawberry cheesecake cake. The cake was amazing, if you ever see it in the dessert window, get it! I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu very soon!
Worst experience ever. Took 30 minutes for the waitress to address us then another hour for the food to come out . Im a server, i know what short staff is but an 1hr and 30 minutes for coffee and a burrito . The waitress said oh the printer had your ticket stuck. Like your telling me you didnt notice a table didnt have food ? NEVER coming back again .
The food is excellent. We stopped in for breakfast and had great friendly service and fantastic food. I had the hashbrown bowl and pecan waffles and my husband loved the biscuits and gravy. Great place!
My coworker put me on this amazing spot, each time I had the hash brown casserole which is absolutely delicious! The decor is very beautiful and vibe is super chill! Love this place.
Food is good and they have Jenga for you to play outside while you wait for your food.
Food is always delicious. So far I’ve had their breakfast bowls and pancakes.
Got the Vegan Platter and Chicken and Waffles. Gone in 5 minutes. Everyone is friendly and the food is really good fresh and hot!! The Wildberry Smoothie is good too!
I LOVE IT HERE. I came once and never stopped coming. The grit breakfast bowl is super good with bacon, sausage, and cheese and made fresh. Grits were seasoned and creamy. Hashbrown casserole is a very good option also. The turtle frappe is to DIE for. The philly was packed with flavor. Overall they are an amazing, well seasoned, greatly staffed, and very welcoming place. 100% recommend all to give them a try.
The Cenacle was perfect!!!! Today was my 1st visit to the bistro but it will not be my last. We were greeted with warm smiles and soothing sounds coming through the speakers. I ordered a coffee, which was AMAZING, a muffin and a side of bacon🥰 Everything was good and fresh. The menu is impressive and cannot wait to try their Mac and cheese. I was so comfortable there, they almost had to put me out due to it being close closing time lol
Visited this Bistro on a trip to Atlanta for Fathers Day. First off, the atmosphere of this place is great --small, intimate, but soothing environment w/Jazz music playing in the background. My family ordered Waffle & Breakfast Sausage Platters. The Waffles were cooked perfectly. The pecan waffles were so good that I didnt need Syrup with mine. The Shrimp & Grits were good as well. They do have Vegan options as well as substitutes for breakfast meats if you dont like Pork. The only downside was the wait time -- it took almost a hour to get our food but I didnt even take a Star off for that because the Customer Service was great. The staff were so kind and courteous.
Excellent food and service. This was my third time here and its been amazing and relaxing throughout each visit. Our server Chrissy was extremely helpful and very energetic with her service. Loved it here!
Loved the home felt atmosphere. The food was was very good. The owner was there to meet and greet everyone. Look forward to my next visit
The food was freshly made to order & served piping hot! My chicken salad on rye sandwich was so good!! My friend loved her hash brown breakfast bowl too. Well both be back.
Simply outstanding! I ate the food too quickly, before I could take a photo. I ordered the vegan breakfast with an extra side of vegan sausage. This is the first place I have eaten that serves the good quality vegan bacon and sausage (vegans know the struggle). This is also the first place that serves a satisfying portion. I am actually stuffed! Everything was delicious and the service is sublime. I can’t wait to return :)
This is my second time coming here and the customer service is outstanding. I wish I knew the name of the guy who worked up front he was so nice and outgoing. The banana nut muffin is my favorite from here. The coffee is very good as well.
I and business group have fallen in love with the loaded omelet. Although this was takeout I have also enjoyed the ambience dining in.
My fiancé and I come here often and enjoy always.
This place has a good vibe and good service. They have an amazing staff that shows love in everything they do. The food is amazing especially those hashbrowns! Its my go to bistro whenever Im in ATL area.
My first time trying them today and i was so impressed with the customer service and the food is great. Shonda was so helpful and nice. My beyond burger is so so good! I’ll definitely be back 🥰
The food here is top quality so just be prepare to pay. they have amazing workers that make you feel at home. highly recommend this place
The food was delicious. I will return for breakfast and Sunday dinner !
Stopped in for lunch and so very impressed. Food was great and made to order. Potato salad like Grandma used to make. The lady behind the counter was so nice and helpful. We will be back.
2nd Visit, Hope 3rd Time Will Manifest Organizational GrowthMy first visit to Cenacle was in the summer with members of my prayer group. We were happy to find a place open during the pandemic. The decor is warm and inviting and the staff were nice. The five of us placed our orders at the same time. The orders varied from full meals to two ladies who just had a biscuit and the other a croissant sandwich. After 20 minutes the meal orders came out but to our dismay the single biscuit order and sandwich took over an hour. As we sat waiting for the single biscuit order I observed that there were more people sitting waiting than eating or leaving with food. This speaks to the level of staffing and organization of the kitchen. I also suspect that a significant amount of the food is microwaved, not cooked to order (could be wrong). I decided to give the bistro another visit last week and thought Id just get a coffee beverage. While the restaurant was not crowded like it was during my initial visit I noticed the same - more people sitting waiting on food than eating or leaving with their orders. This time I noticed signs placed imploring people to be patient that it was not a fast food restaurant (see photo). The signs were tacky and a disappointment. Displays like this are evidence that customers have pointed out the kitchen organization and management issues that manifest in slow return on orders. The sign shows that rather than listening to customer concerns and quietly addressing them, the management has chosen to deflect issues back onto the customer. I was so disappointed to see this. Its unprofessional and its gaslighting your potential business base into excusing ineptness in your operation. I was also disappointed by my Frappuccino which contained more ice than coffee (in 5 minutes it melted into a snowcone ball with all the flavoring missing). My hope is that they will work on getting the coffee beverages right and out efficiently (thats the first half of their name!) then work on kitchen organization to develop a sound system of getting orders into the kitchen and out on time. I will drop in for a 3rd visit in a few months. Hopefully it will not be the last.
I keep giving this place a chance because I wish it was a great place. You will wait at least 1.30hr to even be seated. The food takes a hour to be made. Even if you just order a biscuit… 1HR! I’m not kidding. It’s crazy how long it takes them to take and prepare your order. It makes no sense what so ever. Hire more cooks, revamp your order process. Do something! So much potential here wasted on extremely long wait times. I would understand if their were a lot of ppl here but it’s not. I just don’t understand.
I went here a few days with my mother. Its a pretty little place, nice and cozy. I love the HEBREWS joke on the decor. I always try out places before ordering via Ubereats because I like to see the people that are serving before I order anything else. I ordered a lot of things over the phone; Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp & Grits, roasted potatoes, and quiche. The Chicken and Waffle is NOT worth getting. NOT WORTH it. I ordered for my mother and I and we split everything. I thought the waffles had a nice little garnish on it but my mother said it was just a crunch from the burnt griddle. It wasnt clean, but thats not even the reason I dont like it, because the waffles were good. It was the CHICKEN! Usually Im use to going places and trying chicken with little seasoning and that is completely OKAY, but the chicken was dry. I dipped it in the syrup and it wasnt bad, just not worth ordering when you can cook it yourself. [Or order a chicken from KFC and get a waffle from waffle house LOL]The Shrimp and Grits was the bomb! I dont know what they did there, but that was some delicious grits, we even shared them a second day and man, that was delicious!!!The Quiche was DELICIOUS!! It is a spinach quiche and it is great!!Roasted potatoes looked like something I could make at home, but no, that was a delicious piece of potato.I wanted to order the Hashbrown casserole but it wasnt ready. IT. WASNT. READY. How do you open shop without having it ready? I asked the nice lady over the phone will it be ready in a hour or so and she replied that she didnt want to give me a time and its not ready. Not even an hour after opening?? Isnt there a common sense rule that you should have the food ready at opening and if it runs out through the day it just runs out?In the end the service lady is great, I placed an order and although the food wasnt ready, I still was tickled but the ambience of the place. If you come here I suggest trying them for their shrimp & grits, although my mother informed me that if I go to Savannah GA, this place wouldnt be so great.
The fact that they misspelled Espresso on their sign should tell you all you need to know.Went in for Sunday Brunch today and was highly disappointed. Maybe breakfast is better?Ordered an iced coffee and it tasted sour so went back and asked for an iced Latte — which also came back with spoiled milk. The chicken breading on the chicken n waffles was flavorless, and the collard greens werent what I would consider close to soul food worthy.
Great atmosphere, wonderful food and very pleasant staff. I highly recommend this place!
AWESOME SERVICE ALWAYS!!! Food on point! Drinks on point! I visit them twice a week. Get into it! The food is the bomb! Continue doing well guys, you rock!
Thanks to the WOD for requesting to try this location out the food was delicious the customer service was the bomb and Im definitely going back. if you havent tried CENACLE stop by and hopefully youll get to meet Christy the cashier shes very polite and knowledgeable about the food, her customer service is wonderful. I ordered lemon cake, meat loaf, Mac n cheese, collard greens, squash casserole, turkey wings and sweet 🍵
Staff was SUPER friendly. nice vibe. Food was great and reasonably priced. Black owned. Will definitely return.
My daughter surprised me by bringing breakfast to me from the Cenacle. I honestly had never heard of the restaurant before, but I must truly say everything was delicious. We had the shrimp and grits and pancakes platter. Food was fresh abs delicious. I will definitely be checking them out again
French toast tastes spoiled!
Food, drinks, and staff were amazing. One of the best drinks Ive ever had and the atmosphere is very comforting and relaxing . I visited them during a camping trip and would love to have a cafe like them close by!
Food was very good, but the 25 minute estimate wait was actually almost an hour!! Not the place to come when your hungry. Also the orange juice from the fridge was sour.. so not a pleasant experience overall. Need better management in order to get repeated customers. We weren’t the only ones who where here this long and they weren’t very happy about it either.
Great customer service. Cute and quiet. Peacan waffles and wings were delicious.
Nice, clean and charming coffee shop. Chicken salad sandwich was delicious!
I love this coffee shop. The food and drinks are great and there is a wide variety to choose from. Service is a bit slow on a busy day so be aware
I absolutely adore this place. I wish they stayed open longer, but they know what theyre doing. Good things come to those who wait and it is indeed worth it everytime! All the food is made to order in such a timely fashion. Hot, fresh, and delicious. I encourage you to try everything on the menu. I havent had a bad experience with any selection thus far. Soul food is their speciality but there is something for everyone. Breakfast, brunch, seafood, sandwiches, fresh baked pastries, and more. The staff and cooks are amazing, friendly, and caring. I must definitely shout out Chrissy who was incredibly kind, attentive, and made our experience all the more enjoyable. The atmosphere is calm, and inviting with slow jazz and light melody music. Everything is clean with more than enough spacing to be Covid friendly, and all staff is masked and gloved up. We will definitely be making this a regular spot.
Just ordered from here. This is ridiculous and totally offensive. Won’t be back.
I ordered this place on Uber Eats for the first time. My driver was waiting for a long time for them to finish my order. The bacon tasted like cardboard and had no flavor. I ordered waffles, eggs and bacon. The only thing that was good was the waffles and those were burnt on one side. I would advise you to definitely use caution eating here. Don’t go if you’re really hungry, because it’s honestly like experimenting.
My wife and I had an great experience. Paul was amazing and kept smiling and pushing thru the rush. Our food took some time but it was well worth the wait. Great choice#blackowened
Even though it was my 1st time the food was delicious
Best gravy biscuits I have ever had!!
I ordered the shrimp and grits and the cenacle platter. The grits were undercooked, gritty and very oily from the meat and shrimp toppings. French toast was mushy with a unsweetened cinnamon flavor. This was my second time giving them a try, disappointed. Also, if you order from uber eats the shrimp and grits does not come with garlic bread as listed on the breakfast menu. When I call them to acquire about the missing food item, the lady was rude and said it only comes with lunch. I advised her that its listed on the breakfast menu as well and I paid for it, her response was: ok.Please work on customer service and quality of food. I would have rated a 1 but my food was hot when I received it and food presentation was neat.
Excellent loaded omelet and shrimp and grits...friendly service too.
Honestly I havent eaten here in well over a year. Ive never had a complaint with what I order, which is the tuna sandwich, pasta or chips. Ive also tried a few other things with no complaints. My issue is the customer service 😩😩 I am a black business owner and I hate to leave bad reviews just for the hell of complaining. Today I called to place an order and not even gonna say what I heard as I was put on . But this makes about the 5th time Ive had to just hang up and change my mind due to horrible attitude and customer service. I probably wont be back.. Unfortunately.
Dope concept, appears to be black owned which I love..soulful brunch on Sunday with live 🎶. Food ok..I will try the breakfast next time
Breakfast is pretty good. Food made to order.
The food was great, took a while for time to get ready but it was delicious! Nice spot and plenty of parking in the back
The Cennacle Coffee & Bistro is off the chain. I am vegan and was visiting from Saint Louis. This restaurant was recommended by a friend of the friend I was visiting. I was greatly pleased at the service and the quality of the food. I will definitely come back here again and even my friend who lives here has a new place to frequent. Thanks!
Very nice quite environment and the service was awesome they ran out of the soup of the day and replaced it with something else and refunded usThe carmel mocatio was amazing
This is absolutely the best place to eat anytime I am in town! The food is beyond incredible, the soul food Sunday’s feel like my grandmother’s kitchen, and you can truly tell everything is done with love there. To top it off I am more than sure the individuals In this establishment are trained on the highest levels of hospitality! I truly can’t wait to go back.
The food is great but on the weekend the time is extremely long. But other than that I love the food
Order the vegan breakfast platter with bacon and Sausage. It was not worth the $20. Very small amount of food. The eggs were not seasoned. It did not come with syrup. The french toast tasted of so type of canola or vegetable oil ( too much of it ). Its not bad, but its not $20 worth.
Friendly staff and great food. Great spot for a quick breakfast that doesnt taste like fast food.
My breakfast was very good, great cozy place. I will return 😁
First of all, the barista and baristo are amazing!! The coffee is great!!! Food is good. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I’ve been here twice and everything was very consistent. There is a slight wait, but ANYTHING of quality is worth the wait!! Check them out. You wont regret it. Especially is you’re a coffee lover like myself. :)
