My car needed to be looked at pretty quickly as my husband and I needed 2 cars coming up. Mine was in the garage for 2 months. I got AAA to boost me and I called them to bring it over. I knew I either had a bad battery or a starter issue. They were awesome on the phone and said- bring it over and they could look at it in the afternoon. They kept me updated and sure enough the car was ready for pick up before 5. Excellent communication and follow up! I just moved here and will use them again for our two car maintenance and oil changes! So nice to have a clean, professional team take care of your vehicles. So important today to find good businesses! Keep it up!

Extremely rude. Called to get a quote on getting an exhaust exchange but refused to give me a quote without my vehicle in front of them. Just a way to get my vehicle in there without an up-front price (its a scam if they get additional money from you). They want to know what theyre looking at in order the give a quote. I know every detail and inch of my truck but they refused to quote without my truck on a lift. I would have been fine bringing my vehicle in until he rudely raised his voice and spoke to me like a toddler. Dont go to these guys, not personal at all. Find a place that cares about their reputation and customers.

I chose this shop because of their clear explanation of the work done and how they treated me as a valued customer. This wad the third time Id brought my vehicle here. Another factor is that they are close because the alternative is going to the dealer I bought my vehicle from and losing a day. Growing up my Dad had a garage and I felt like I was dealing with my father when speaking with Rod and Linwood!

After showing up on time to my appointment I waited ah hour for them to take my car out back say they cant get ah rear tire valve stem of not senser valve stem for 20 minutes and the service writer said we dont know if we need special tools and i said to the service writer no the tools r all metric still sent me away

BEWARE OF OWNER! You might get arrested!I highly recommend you avoid this Meineke. My wife and I brought our truck to Farmingdale VIP in the morning for an inspection - they told us it needed muffler and brake work and recommended Meineke for the muffler work. We thought the brake work quote from VIP was high, so we went to this Meineke and spoke to Rod behind the counter. We explained CLEARLY that the truck just failed inspection, we knew it wouldnt pass until we had a light on the dash we needed to tend to before it could, but meanwhile we asked them to do a patch on the muffler and give us a quote on rear brakes. That was it. We never once asked for an inspection. He asked to see our registration, which I gave him figuring he needed the VIN, and my signature for the keys I gave him. We left to go shopping with our other vehicle.Rod called and said the patch wouldnt work, and the section they would need to replace was $700. The brake quote came in at $150 more than VIP. I told him we would have to talk over what direction we wanted to go, and meanwhile we would pick up the truck.We arrived to Rod gone and apparently the owner (see photo) behind the counter. My wife went in and said she was there to pick up the truck. He said that will be $12.50 for the failed inspection. She said we did not ask to have the truck inspected as we had just had it done at VIP. We asked for a quote to get it fixed. He said my guys dont work for free. So my wife came out and got me.I walked in, he gave me the paper and said you signed right here. I said I signed but nothing was on the paper when I signed it. I didnt ask for an inspection, I asked for a quote. He said my guys dont work for free. I went back and explained that we wanted a brake quote, not the brakes inspected. My wife reiterated we never asked for an inspection and then he blew up, yelling GET OUT! We looked at each other absolutely bewildered, like is this really happening? Are we in an alternate universe? She said are you really going to call the police on me? His worker, hanging in the doorway, then chimed in youre criminally trespassing. My wife, being a retired police officer, reiterated, bewildered youre really going to call the police for THIS...? He screamed again, GET OUT! So now shes outside and Im left with an obviously angry, emotionally unstable man a counter away from me.I was calm, and tried to again explain the scope of why we came in. When I added the muffler part, he accused me of changing my story! I said Im not changing anything, I just came here to give you my business, but now I just want to pay $12.50 to never have to step foot in a Meineke again!He continued to try to start something with me, and all I kept trying to do was PAY HIM. The kicker was this: he handed me keys and I left calmly. I couldnt help but laugh hysterically with my ostracized wife when I held up the keys and realized he had, in his tirade, given me someone elses keys!I walked back in and was kind, joking that while I would probably love the car attached to the keys he gave, they were not mine. And then he told me to have a nice day as I left with the proper keys.And now Im sitting here at home wondering what the living hell just happened in Augusta, Maine. Save yourself while you can!PS...No one, man or woman, should EVER be yelled at the way he did to my wife. So if you are a woman, you should avoid this business. If you are a man, you should also avoid this business.

I had a great contactless experience with Meineke. I set an appointment to get my snow tires put on + alignment for Tuesday morning but dropped off my car on Sunday night. On Monday around midday they called to let me know that the car was ready! I paid over the phone and then picked up the car that evening, locked with the keys and receipt tucked in a discrete place. Ive been coming here for years and will continue to do so!

After completing an engine swap on my 1986 C10, I called the Meineke shop in Augusta, Maine to see about reconnecting the exhaust. I had removed a section of the factory exhaust to make room for the headers...I had cut the factory 2” pipes just behind the transmission cross member. The manager gave me an appointment but made sure to tell me “they don’t install customer parts and will not cut anything such as the frame or transmission mount.” I brought the truck over early told him I had left a set of collectors on the seat, all I needed them to do was reconnect the 2 to 3’ foot section that I had cut out....(easy squeezy for any exhaust shop.) I hadn’t touched the transmission cross member so if the factory exhaust worked & fit there, they should easily be able to reconnect it to the header collectors. He said “well hopefully there is something we can do.” He said he could get it in and “look at it” within an hour and would call me back to let me know “if they could do anything or not and how much it would cost.” He called me back over 2 hours later and said they couldn’t do anything with it because the collector had a “coating they can not weld” and other reasons such as the transmission mount was in the way. I drove over to the shop with a second set of collectors that were not coated. Upon arrival the shop door was open and the manager was standing there with a technician. I showed the technician the uncoated collectors and asked “Can you use these?” He said “yeah but then the problem is the crossmember is still in the way.” I said “yeah but thats why I’m here...you guys have all the tools and tubing benders and stuff to do the job.” At this point the manager speaks up and says something about “they looked at it and just cant do the work.” I said that “I had heard how difficult this shop was to deal with and that I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and firm my own opinion but its clear to me now they don’t want to work on anything thats not “factory replacement.” The manager said something about “well join the bandwagon if you want.”I told him this job is simple to do for an exhaust shop and they have everything needed to do the work if they wanted to. At this point the manager reaches up and pulls the bay door down closed in my face. I parked my regular driver and walked back to get my C10, the technician was standing outside so I said “Hey man I’m sorry but I know its not you, its that jerk inside.” About that time the jerk inside began pounding on the shop door with his fist in what appeared to be an indication for the technician to not speak with me any further and return inside. I said “hey man you better not talk to me and go inside, I don’t want you to get into trouble.”Don’t waste your time here...ZERO customer service!! I can’t imagine anyone working for that dude. I know lots of car guys and mechanics and they all tried to warn me about that guy....

This place can be summed up with one word JOKE...dont even waste your time with these jerks, they dont know how to bend piping, weld exhaust joints, or give anything that remotely resembles customer service. If I could rate them a zero I would. Worst automotive business in the area. STAY AWAY!!!

First location I make an online appointment with emails me an hour before my appointment saying they dont carry my type of oil as if all they have is olive oil today (my engine is a Chevy 350) so I book at this location and Ive gotta say these were some of the grumpiest old men Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. 3 different techs I spoke with all the same personality. End of the day my oil change got completed and I carried on scratching my head wondering whats wrong with some people.

Both individuals serving me talked down to me as if I was mentally challenged, it was as if I was there wasting their time. The service was substandard. I was given a substantially better quote at another local franchise garage. If someone wants to pay the equivalent of over $120/hour you can just go to the dealership that made your vehicle. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone especially women, they will take great advantage of you.

My experience was fine, the attendant gave me a clear picture of what needed to be done to my car and the alternatives, which was very helpful, however, the waiting room was stiff and uncomfortable, as of tables and hard chairs that resembled a coffee shop without coffee. The attendant said that I could “ take a walk” when I mentioned the setting and the lack of a more comfortable alternative, “ I suggested they should have more comfy furniture in their waiting room” and he said “it’s not done here”. I took his “ advise” and went for a walk on the heat of the day, and waited a mile away where I found a place to sit in the shade. When I came back the man was a little more polite than at the beginning. The work was done properly and the price was reasonable, I just think they could be more welcoming to their costumers and have a more comfortable waiting room, that also is good for business.

I went to the Augusta location and they were very unhelpful. The person at the front was very short with me, definitely not a people’s person. I tried explaining what noise the car was making and when, but he didn’t appear to really care. When an employee couldn’t replicate it on the test drive, I went with him. I told him exactly what to do to replicate it and he just wouldn’t (all you had to do is turn while driving, and every time he would stop and then turn, so of course there was no noise...and it’s a loud noise otherwise, it should’ve been obvious). They charged me roughly an hour’s worth of labor ($85) even though they could not identify the problem. I’ve been to other Meinekes in Maine and they had never charged me just to look at the car, especially if they couldn’t determine the issue. When I expressed this, he told me “We don’t work for free.” Overall poor experience, will not be returning.

Best price for a oil change in this area. Plus I got to use a coupon I got in my email. I had to wait like a hour just to get my oil changed. But all in all it was good.

I called an hour before close, the day of a snowstorm to have my snow tires balanced and they fit me right in despite being swamped with work. They did the work in a timely manner, were polite, friendly and professional. Thanks guys!

I actually had work done to my wifes car and new tires installed during the summer, the reason I called them today was to price out some studded snow tires. The experience we had with the owner was beyond excellent, he is a really accommodating person.During the repairs he drove us home with a baby girl and drove us all back to the shop once the repairs were finished. In the case that we were having brakes done and tires put on, they could show me the condition of the current brake pads and rotors. Some places wont show you, but the good ones will.I read a review on the credit card they offer and to me. Ive been in places where emergencies happen when least expected with no way to pay for the emergency. A company may offer these types of things, but in all reality, it can be a life saver.Experiences may vary however, our experience was a good one.

Ive been going to Meineke for a while and I am pleased with both the service and the work they have done on my car. Theyre very willing to explain or show you what is wrong, give you an accurate quote on the work you need done, and they do the work in a timely fashion. Theyre always flexible and can fit you in almost any day of the week. If youre concerned with any work theyve done theyll check it free of charge and if something they replaced isnt holding theyll fix that too! Meineke isnt one of those garages that charges you an arm and a leg just for looking at your car, something Ive encountered quite often in this area. Ill definitely be returning and continuing to use Meineke as my mechanic!

I called first for quick oil change they got me in and out quickly and also had the tires rotated. They inform you my car inspection is expired and also did that quickly and efficiently. And the price was very reasonable. I would definitely go back

Unfortunately, my experience was not very good. They person at the front was not friendly whatsoever. He did not explain what the costs were going to be ahead of time. He only printed me an itemized receipt when I asked and he acted like it was an inconvenience. Just because people ask questions about their bill doesnt mean they think they are getting ripped off. As a consumer, there are many people who get ripped off by auto mechanics, so I should be able to ask a couple questions without you taking offense. The coupon for oil change is misleading and that was not explained ahead of time. $325 is a lot of money and I should be able to check that its accurate. You lost a future customer here.

Our daughter gave us her old car, after having it inspected elsewhere and paying $500 to have new brakes installed. When our usual mechanic was on vacation, we took this car to Meineke for an inspection sticker, where we were told it needed $1,000 worth of work on the steering to become safe for the road. Declined Meinekes service, drove it off Meinekes lot, and had our usual mechanic inspect it as soon as he could. After he found nothing wrong and I told him what Meineke had said, he assured me that he had inspected the steering, and nothing was wrong.

Had my state inspection done here recently. I was impressed that there was no push to up-sell me anything additional. They were honest that my tires were borderline, but told me I could go a few more months on them instead of trying to sell me new tires.

I have gone here a number of times. The people there are great but they dont always tell you the whole story as they clam. I put over $2000 worth of work in my car to get a sticker and was told it would have no problem. I moved and went and tried to get a sticker and was told within 15 min at a different shop that my bumper and most of my back end was rusted. They even brought me in to show me. I ended up buying a new car. Was not happy.

First of all, to be upfront and honest, I have reported this company to the Attorney General here in Maine. I have also completed a Better Business Bureau complaint regarding the vehicle they sold me, plus the very poor customer service I received when I brought the vehicle there 3 months later with major issues.There were so many problems with his vehicle, engine light, vehicle shaking, a muffler that would not pass inspection, to say the least.I believe they sell subpar vehicles in order to get repeat business.They responded negatively to mymy Better Business Bureau claim. They said they only saw me once after I bought the vehicle. Yes, I did not want to deal with those people again. I lost big time in this deal. Dont do business there. Just dont do business there.The Attorney General said if they got enough complaints about this business, they would contact me. Then something could be done.I also posted this on Yelp. I am not vindictive. I am stating true facts.

The store is great and has friendly staff. The guy at the car care center is rude and quite unfriendly. It made for a bad experience to give my keys to someone with such a distasteful demeanor. I wont be going back.

Never again. I brought my car in for what should have been a routine state inspection. How hard could it be? I have a fairly new, low milage Toyota with no prior issues. Did I mention that its a Toyota? Take a look, give me a sticker and Ill be on my way. Instead, the characters at Meineke tried to play me. They claimed that my car would not pass due to a fluid leak in the rear axle. They said that this would require the exhaust system to be removed and estimated $312 in repair costs. I took my car elsewhere for a second opinion and had it confirmed, after multiple checks, that there was absolutely no leaking, and no issues with my car, period. Keep in mind my independent mechanic could have easily subscribed to there being a problem with my car, and charged me for a lot for unnecessary labor. But he did the right thing, because he is honest, ethical, and frankly, not a con artist. -Which is more than I can say about the folks at Meineke. If you live or work in the capital area and are tempted by the convenience of Meineke or another one of these large automotive chains, think again. Its worth going a little further than Meineke for reliable service. By the way, Meineke charged me twice as much for that bogus failed inspection as my mechanic did for a passing inspection. Shame of you Meineke.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Had a simple exhaust job done. $479.75 later... Some guy there drove my car into the shop, attempted to anyway, while RIDING MY CLUTCH and now my clutch is toast. I brought it to the managers attention and he said its not their responsibility bull. After me proving myself and that its their fault, he got mad and told me to leave. Lawsuit will be filed. I repeat, STAY AWAY!!!! They will drain you for everything you have. WORST PLACE EVER!

They wont stop sending me special offers in the mail. I get them 2 sometimes 3 times per mail delivery, and I dont even live in the state that did the service for me! They Tried to tell me that my tires had dry rotted, but I know what dry rot is and there was no dry rot on them at all. Granted they were getting close to being time to change, but I always get my tires from Discount Direct Tire for there amazing sales! They just wanted me to buy tires from them.Cheapest oil change in town I could find for basic oil.Annoying.

Was on vacation and had a slow leak. The shop opened early for me and charged only $28 - no joke! The staff was extremely kind and professional.

I went to Meineke for a simple alignment. I was told that I needed an upper ball joint on my 2014 Ford F 150 without hesitation I told them to go ahead and do it. 3 hours later im told they still are not done and its gonna be another 2 hours. I am no stranger to automotive service having run multiple shops over for over 30 years. These people dont have a clue. Terrible service and customer service. Will not return and will co rinue to warn others about Meineke. Spending 3 times the money I should have.

My wife came in for a free brake inspection and they told her she had 1 mm left and she needed to get them replaced with rotors immediately. She took it in to someone closer to our house and they checked the brakes and told her nothing was wrong and they had plenty of life on the front and back brakes. Basically she was lied to by Meineke and we will never frequent this place again. I would never trust them for anything.

I had some work done at this Meineke. The cost was more than the cost that was quoted. To make a long story short, I wont be returning and my recommendation to anyone needing work done, do yourself a favor and go to another shop.

They went above and beyond. I brought my car in to have them change out the starter because it was burned out. They ordered the starter and had it delivered to the shop and gave me an estimate of the cost providing they did not find any thing else needing repairs such as bad cables etc. They only worked on it for a short period of time and brought it back up all finished. I cost was only a few dollars as the only thing needed was a set of battery terminals everything else checked out fine. They could have gotten away with replacing the starter and charging for it and the labor but they were totally honest with me and only charged me for the terminals. It is rare to find a shop that will pass up the bigger sale that you say was needed and instead only fix what is necessary so when you do find that kind of honesty you would be smart to keep them as your goto guys for all your repair needs. Thank you so much for rebuilding my faith in the integrity of Maines small businesses.

Pathetic Service, Charged me twice for same problem & I had to pay.I went to their shop with the Engine light ON of my Camry, they told me its due to some bad sensor 2 out of 4 are bad & 2 are good. Charged me 600$ for it, and within 2 hours the light came back on again, this time they told me the other 2 sensors also needs to be changed, & charged me 500$ again for it. How come all 4 of the sensors got bad at once.I Dont recommend anybody to use them. Stay away from them, Save your money.

Stay away from here!!! I was overcharged on rear brakes on my Mazda. They knew i needed the repair as my rear brakes were grinding and ripped me off. Now its my turn to review them. Actually good repair, at fair prices is hard to get within a quarter mile of this ripoff joint on State St. I am referring to Als. My vehicles now go to the dealer, it cost more, but the job will be done and done right!! The man i dealt with here is very heavy set and needed a shower!! The staff at Charlies and Blouin Mazda are clean. I would not buy a used car here, i believe they are tied in with Meineke. I want good businesses to make money, they have employees, overheard etc.., plus i want them there to go back to, but not Meineke or Als Certified ripoff!! Ladies, pay attention. I assume people that have given good reviews, do not know alot about cars? I do, i use to work at Rowe VW-Mazda in Auburn.

Went to get an estimate for muffler work, spoke with manager Rod. The guy should not be in customer service business, rude, ignorant and disrespectful. His mechanic took my truck out back to a bay I could not see even though the bay right behind the service desk was empty. I started to walk out back so I could watch from the parking lot, Rod came out and said I could not go out back. Told him I wasnt going into the bay, just wanted to watch from the parking lot. Any auto garage allows customers to watch as long as your not inside the actual bay. He said auto repair is not a spectator sport and it distracts the mechanic. I asked him if that was true why do most auto garages have large bay windows so customers can watch? He had no sensible response, and clearly didnt want me to see what was going on. I told him it sure seemed suspicious, he continued to be rude and ignorant so told him to bring my truck back out.Shady place, rude owner, dont trust this guy with your vehicle. Its a franchise and he can run it how he wants, avoid this place at all costs !!!!!

Went there for a simple oil change. 20 minutes in to it I hear someone in the backroom saying I dont know what to not touch on that piece of s#it car Then he comes out and tells me the car is going to kill me and others on the road. Had it checked by another place and they said Ill be fine for now. Regardless if the car is unsafe or not, you do NOT call someones car a peice of s#it! You dont know what situation theyre in. Not all of us can afford a brand new vehicle. Keep being rude, see where it gets you.

Just got off the phone with Rod. Extremely rude, yelling and screaming on the phone when we just asked for detailes about breakpads. I would be terrified to use this place. Who knows what he can do with such a short temper ? Maybe break ur window and say it was broken? Maybe smash ur engine ? Deff don’t go to this place.Edit: They pride themselves in offering professional and courteous service but who ever leaves a review gets the same response ? Great professional and courteous service.

Very bad experience I wrote a previous review that has been removeme. The cops threatened to taze me & chased me down the road. They called the cops on me. Lets refresh. Be sure to spend your money on a good local mechanic. Dont let this place rob you. They might put your car up on a lift & refuse to let it down or give you the keys or drive it off their property if you bring it there to be looked at because it was making a noise. Even though there are many other mechanics on the same road, they dont want you to get a second opionion. Then they give you the bad news & say it will cost $600 & you need new brakes all the way around the car & you can apply for their credit if you cant afford to pay. They refuse to give me my car keys. Then they called the cops on me. Then I was harrased by 5 male cops, then I rented a car dolly from uhaul & called a friend & towed my car off the lot & brought it to my personal mechanic & my $600 break job cost $180 including labor. Please dont fund these crooks.

My truck broke down while on the way to a job. Just so happens it died in their parking lot. I purchased a new altinater from motor supply next door and proceeded to change it in the parking lot. I was not blocking anyone,they were not busy and I k ow mechanics very well. About 5 minutes into my repair the gentleman behind the cup yet came out yelling at me to move my truck and threatened to call the police if I didnt. I explained I was sorry and was not Trying to cause problems and would be finished very soon. He continued use to harass me and kept telli g me to move my truck......I couldnt. 10 minutes later when I was done I stalking the new altinater I asked them for a booster pack so I could move my truck from their lot and he told me I could use it for $25.00. Poor people skills and very disrespectful. Wont be giving them any business.

They advertise tune-ups on their website. I walked in and asked if I could schedule a tune-up. The man at the counter asked me what a tune-up was. I thanked him and left.

Poor service here. I recently took my car for an oil change and I left needing to get the entire oil pan and plug replaced. The customer service here was very poor and their communication was disrespectful. I will not return here with ANY of my vehicle maintenance needs.
