Travis at Snail Performance is a top tier tuner and truly deserves all of the 5 star reviews he has - Cant recommend him enough! Like another review, I initially had my car tuned by a shop in Reno, NV and the car just didnt run the way it should have with a protune. Rather than go back to the same shop, I decided to cut my losses and get in touch with Travis after seeing he was a Cobb certified protuner (not just a protuner) as well as all his reviews. Coming off a bad tuning experience in Reno, I was initially very gunshy and had a lot of questions. Travis was extremely responsive and patient with me, and even gave me a call multiple times when it was easier to talk through specific questions.The entire process from start to finish was very easy. Travis starts with asking about specific modifications done to the car, as well as your goals in tuning, and then goes to work. Once the tune is dialed in, Travis does a great job explaining how the car was acting during the tuning process, and what the results were. At the conclusion of tuning, Travis gives comprehensive instructions on how to datalog and requests you send him some logs under different driving conditions to make sure the tune is operating as it is supposed to in your most common driving conditions.Since Travis tuned my 2016 WRX, it gets slightly better MPG than it did before, has smoother shifts, as well as having a greatly improved power band. Travis really knows his stuff and will make you feel confident in the whole process. When tuning your car, my advice is make sure things are done right from the start and dont take shortcuts - Travis will make sure it is done right. Added bonus: Travis is a USAF veteran and its an opportunity to support veteran owned businesses.

Took my 2017 WRX for a tune (intake and down pipe). They were professional and thorough and answered any questions I had. Wish I would have gotten this tune sooner car is running smoother than ever and for what mods I have on the car producing good power. Will be back for future tunes, thanks Travis!

Car: 2013 STI Hatch. Stage 2I thought my entire experience working with Travis at Snail Performance was amazing from start to finish. Their dyno room is top notch and you can tell they have put a fair amount of money into the room/set up.During the tune Travis made me feel like I was a part of the entire process and took the time to answer all of my questions. I also found Travis to be super responsive to any emails I sent before or after my tune. The M45 staff was also great and super friendly.This is my second experience with Snail Performance and my friends with WRX/STIs have used them too. Every dollar my friends and I spend here was well worth it. I live in the bay area and if I found out Travis/Snail Performance was moving father away I would not mind driving to wherever they are.

He is the only certified Cobb tuner in Northern California. I emailed him about a month ago about some concerns and questions about a flex fuel tune. He called me next day and explained everything and the parts he recommended. I just got a tune today with the parts he recommended and the car runs great and puts down some decent power.He took time to sit down with me and explain everything about my new tune, from gas, ethanol, what to look out for, what not to do. If your thinking of fixing up your WRX/STI I would give him a call. Ill update with more information as time goes by, IF* any issues arise and how the car behaves. Very happy with the tune.

Snail Performance can get make it all work together. After having my car tuned I immediately noticed a much smoother and more responsive ride.

Got my sti Blessed by Travis. I am new to the Subaru community and I ask Travis plenty of question and also ask for parts recommendations even with his busy schedule he still found a way to reply to me. I had my car towed to M45 (which is 90 miles away )with a check engine light and Travis and the m45 crew was able to fix the problem. He knows what he’s doing and is very good at what he does. When I drove the car after the tune my car felt the best it has ever felt. While I was driving it home I just had huge smile on face kinda like how I felt driving it home from the dealership. M45 has treated me and my Subaru well. Travis tuned my 05 Baja. After running into some issues with my ECU, he spent his weekend researching a solution and ended up having to open-source reconfigure my entire ECU. He was genuinely interested in my lasting satisfaction. I know that if anything ever goes wrong, he will stop at nothing to make it right (even if it means a weekend of strategizing!).

Great subbie work

Got my 2017 wrx tuned for stage 2 for the first time and i was super happy over with the result. Snail Performance and the M45 team were very friendly and went though everything after the tune was done. Overall it took about 4 hours for the COBB intake install and the dyno tune all together. I definitely recommend this place if you looking for a pro tune or any installs on your car you wont be disappointed

Been here twice for 2 separate occasions. The staff is very friendly, very intelligent and very informed on Subaru’s. I am very impressed with this place. Even John the new hire is on point very friendly constantly informative on progress of repair progress. On top of that they are even flexible when it comes to pricing and honesty. Well worth the drive coming from Elk Grove. Highly recommended when you have medications and requiring tune. Will definitely come back for a pro tune when my warranty expires lol :-) Looking forward to it.

I did a lot of research before deciding on a place to have my car tuned. I’d heard a lot about Travis at Snail Performance and knowing he was a Cobb certified pro tuner who essentially specializes in Subaru’s I knew I’d made the right choice. I made the two hour drive from the east bay to get to him and it was totally worth the drive. Travis works out of M45, a Subaru mechanic shop operated by Troy. The shop is full of Subaru’s and every item you could imagine to fix and mod them.Travis was sure to help explain the process of the tune and asked me what my goals were. After explaining to him I wanted a nice linear power band with good power, he went to work. I got to sit in on the tune and see him work his magic. The car came out with 296/335 on 91 ACN. What’s really impressive was the average power over a stock car. Average came out to 240/273 about 50-60 more HP/TQ average over stock.If you are looking to get your Subaru tuned you have to make the trip to see him. Great work.

Travis seems to be one of a few tuners available in Northern California specializing in Subarus. From scheduling to tuning, I worked directly with Travis. He picks up his own phone and answers questions directly. His customer service and knowledge made the choice an easy one. He even coordinated with FW to get some parts installed for me. Coming from San Jose, being able to have everything taken care of in the same day is a huge plus.Im definitely going to book Travis again when I need an updated tune.

I went to Travis at snail performance after I was getting lots of knock from an ots tune. Travis tuned my car after M45 installed some go fast parts and it was like a night and day difference in drivability and confidence in the tune. Extremely rare that my fa20dit throws any knock now. Will be taking my new 19 STI to him very soon.UPDATE: I took my 2019 STI to Travis and it was another stellar experience. I honestly dont think you could find a better tuner. Hes always available for questions and any logs I send him hes always gotten back to me within an hour or so. You dont get any better than that. I appreciate it, man. I will be back with more parts soon.

Made an appointment for a protune with Travis. Easy to set up, I emailed him which day I wanted to protune and gave him information about my vehicle (2016 WRX). My car drives so much smoother and definitely has a bit more power than before. I will be returning when I install future mods.
