I don’t like leaving this review but I must be truthful. This restaurant is an all time favorite of mine because it’s been here forever, the atmosphere is really cool and my family has good memories here and the service is great. Today we ordered two identical meals, country fried steak, Waldorf salad and sweet potato. The cornbread wasn’t good at all, it tasted very floury. The steak was thin and overcooked underneath a lot of breading which fell off. Waldorf salad was good. Saved the potato for later it looked good. I could have had a better meal for less somewhere else. I wanted it to be good but it fell short, sadly.
This food is amazing. I was skeptical at first, not gonna lie but I’m glad I got this. I order the crispy fried chicken with the triple Mac and cheese and the mash potatoes w/brown gravy.everything is well seasoned and Delicious. The customer service was also great. They are very friendly and engaging💙 Thank You!
Its not hyperbole to say that this was the greatest new place Id been in a long, long time. We sat at the counter (which I highly recommend) and it was very entertaining to watch the cooks and runners do their thing. The food was lights out incredible. Since we were sitting at the counter, we got to see pretty much everything on the menu. Everything looked amazing. I ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken (basically Country Fried Chicken, once you add a side of country gravy), mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. It was honestly the best meal Ive had in a long while. I wouldnt have been disappointed if we wouldve gone to this place everyday we were in Atlanta. Definitely will be going back every time we make the cross-country trek to watch the Braves.
OK Cafe wait time was reasonable 15 to 20 minutes on a busy Sunday World series evening. The food was great! Very delicious turkey and dressing, etc. The Chocolate fudge cake-loved it! The ambience was pleasant. Our server was a bit off kilter or dropped the ball several times, however, other servers picked up the slack.Overall, the service in general was spot on. The food/menu is a variety of fulfilling meals! Yes, wife & I will be returning for dinner! 😋👍🏾
I have been craving macaroni and cheese for a little over one year now. A good, trustworthy foodie friend recommended The OK Cafe, saying they have the best macaroni in the streets. Another good friend recommended Another restaurant. So this is really a 4.5 star rating. Only giving 4.5 stars because I have one other restaurant to compare them to that I have not tried yet. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the macaroni and cheese from The OK Cafe and will definitely recommend it for anyone looking. That was the only thing I wanted but my husband also bought the meatloaf and the fried boneless chicken. They were good. But the mac and cheese was EXCELLENT. Depending on the other restaurant I may upgrade to five stars. But if you want some tasty macaroni and cheese, The OK Cafe DEFINITELY has you covered!Went again yesterday. They can upgrade to a five stars. Dined in for the first time. Service was awesome. Food was EXCELLENT!
Welcome to my honest opinion of yet another unique restaurant.Place is a lot better than OK, it’s very good.I like trying new to me restaurants and I was pleasantly surprised by this one.Salmon was slightly over cooked IMO, but was seasoned well. All the food was fresh, and I’d highly recommend the clam chowder, mine was full of clams and I didn’t find any grit in with my clams.I’d like to come back and try again. My waitress was super cool too.If ya liked please click the like button
First time at OK Cafe. I took my mother out for our mother/daughter day. I had the house salad and tuna salad sandwich and my mother had the house salad and cheese bacon Burger. These items were great and one salad is large enough to feed two people. And we tried their ribs special without the sides. I have to say they were NOT good...they were hard and dry. It must have been from being in the warmer to long. I dont recommend them unless its early to get fresh cooked ribs. We loved the Halloween decorations in the place.
Southern hospitality with a side of comfort food! OK Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat in Atlanta. I always order a REAL cherry coke. I usually ordered the days featured Blue Plate Special or the veggie plate. Really you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Save room for dessert!
Chicken pot pie, meatloaf, PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE! It was more than 20 years ago that I was last here and so glad I went. Super fast and friendly service with great comfort food...just go...
This place has a nice retro feel; even the servers have the old-timey diner uniforms. The chicken pot pie was a generous serving and oh-so-DELICIOUS! The banana split was also huge and tasty. The chocolate cake was a little dry though. Finally, the coffee was just plain awful. Overall a terrific meal...will definitely come back.
We had the meatloaf minus the creole sauce. Enormous portions. As we walked through the restaurant looking at others plates we were impressed with the size of the plates. There was 2 of us and shared a meal got an extra side although it already came with 2 we were so stuffed as much as we wanted the cobbler we had to pass. We went in the wrong door, it was the make your own meal at 9.99 lb. Serving a family on a busy night was pretty good, so much to choose from. It was definitely more than ok. Sever was really nice. Will return again when in the area.
Big plus to our server. Attentive and courteous. On the other hand? For the price, I’ll stick with Waffle House. Would have been half what i spent and better tasting. Can’t judge a place on their breakfast alone, so I’ll probably try a lunch or dinner service before I decide whether or not to go back.
Great food at a decent price. The burger was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted in my life.I love the uniforms on the waitresses and waiters. I get a good, mellow chill vibe whenever I come.I only find one problem with the OK cafe, and that is the fact that management has decided to abandon coke products altogether. Please, management, bring back some soda that is not off brand!
What a great breakfast place! My husband had the blueberry pancakes...one order enough for two people! So 😋
Food is great. Service is good. The wait is usually no longer 10-15mins...except on Sundays
Awesome food and atmosphere. Been going here since I was a kid, and never had a bad meal. Best onion rings and fried cheese grits!
The food was fantastic. Wonderful burgers and amazing shakes. The cornbread is some of the best Ive had with the rich flavor and moist texture. The service is prompt and attentive. As far as drawbacks goes, the amazing food comes at the cost of long lines so plan ahead. Waitlists go quickly but it can be a patience game, however, it is well worth the wait.
What a lovely Cafe! Definitely going on my top ten list, the service was quick and the waitress was nothing but courteous and attentive. Food was wonderful I definitely recommend this place 100%
Man so awesome.Food & servers top notch.Never dissatisfied.Great experience best comfort food around.
This was my first time at this restaurant. I was pleased to see a restaurant that takes the time to create an experience. From the good old home cooking food to the waitresses in their white uniforms, OK Cafe was definitely a restaurant I will return to.
The food, ambiance and service are terrific here! We love to go there whenever we visit the Atlanta area. It has a 1950s decor and a typical diner feel with homemade food. Some of the best dishes are the salmon, the chicken pot pie and the turkey dinner. Other members in my family like the meatloaf too. They also have a big take-out service if you prefer to eat at home.
Great diner. They have freshly squeezed juices as well as classics like malted milkshakes.I had the bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the tuna salad sandwich. We couldnt finish them which was cool, because we had them as leftovers at home.So glad we stopped in by accident.
Stopped here for lunch after a friend raved about it. Diner atmosphere with some quirky art. Huge menu with fast service. Generous portions and good prices.
We sat at the counter waiting for our to-go order and the lady doing the eggs and waffles was so fast. The other chefs were also getting food out so quickly, it was impressive and fun to watch. Im glad I got to see it while we waited. Once we got our food, we left and ate in the car. It was so good! Best grits Ive ever had, plenty of eggs to share, and the turkey sausage was amazing. I definitely want to go back for the pancake with powdered sugar and sliced apples on top. (I saw it being made while we were waiting.) Overall, delicious and I hope we go back soon!
Never disappointed. Always great food, service. Another birthday group celebration...kudos to all.
Our first time to eat breakfast at Ok Cafe, but not our last. Lunch and dinner are great. Breakfast is wonderful. I had pancakes which were light, fluffy, and delicious! Tip- pancakes are the size of a dinner plate. You can get 1,2 or 3 pancakes. I chose 2 which was just right, as I love pancakes! My husband had the biscuits with sausage gravy and ate every bite. No matter what meal you eat at OK cafe it will be wonderful and satisfying.
The food was great...The wait wasnt long for a Saturday afternoon...
Oh my word! The chicken pot pie is excellent. Its presented with a light pastry pillow on top instead of being inside a heavy crust. The Waldorf salad is delicious and so is the squash souffle. And I think I just had the best pecan pie of my life! Ill be back!
This was so very interesting. I wasnt expecting it to be so delicious. Serves to a good crowd. We got carry out to take down the road. Mac and cheese was literally the best we ever had. Chocolate cake was awesome. Very retro 50s style feel. Loved it and would return.
Was looking for a place to have lunch, Just happened to be driving by and thought it looked like a nice place to stop. Glad we did. Even though we came in through the wrong door, carry out side, Staff was very friendly, showed us to the front, so we got to look at all the decor as we made our way throug. Its surprising bigger then it looks. Very relaxing, and fun place to enjoy a great meal. Our waitress was very fast and checked up on us throughout our meal. I had a milkshake with my lunch, it was GREAT!!!! They not only bring you your shake in a tall glass, but also the mixing container, which is holding the rest of your shake. Just like the good old days. Again Food was great, filled up my tank for sure. The price, very reasonable, especially for what you get. We will be back, Great Place.........
The best vegetables I have had at any restaurant. The mac and cheese is outstanding.
I do not reside in Atlanta, so this was my second time to dine here. They do not disappoint! The portions are delicious, and plentiful enough for a take-home. However, I am puzzled as to why they no longer have Coke (or Pepsi) products.
OK Cafe is excellent. The food has always been good, the staff have always been good. I dont know how they do it but Im glad they do. The mac n cheese is one of my favorites.Keep up the good work.
This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. Good home cooked style meals and excellent service. I always get a plate to go as well since it is quite a drive from my house.
Always great food, great service, excellent quality/ quantity for the price. An excellent tradition with locals, loyal patrons and first timers, all walking away knowing they have a reliable go to spot.
We are glad that we ran across OK Cafe today. The food was great, as well as the service. There was a wait there, but it wasnt too bad. It does get loud in there, so if you want a quiet lunch, then this may not be the place for you. We had a very positive experience there in every area. It met and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!
The food is quite good. Unfortunately they have recently replaced Coca-Cola products with something called Stubborn soda. I wish the waitress had warned me when I ordered Coke so I wouldnt have had to spit it back into the glass.
Food is fresh but not great. Very typical diner atmosphere. Server made me feel rushed to the point of inconveniencing her. Not a place I will choose again.
Had shrimp with coleslaw, could eat it everyday! Excellent business lunch with a colleague. We were not rushed.
The food tastes authentic and made with quality ingredients. Many great choices to pick from. Their lemonade is handmade and taste like no other. I just had the fried chicken and although it’s not a dish I normally go for this one was superb and I had to admit I would order it again. Ideal for a quick lunch. Their service is prompt and the employees super friendly. Would return without hesitation.
We went to the OK Corral to do a bit of remembrance for my 99 year old Mom. She and the preschool teachers once a month would have lunch in two of the Boost in the corner. Discuss work-life enjoy one anothers company w out electronics. I know 🙃 In this day and time how rare is that? But what a wonderful memory to follow down the rabbit hole. My Mom on a walker entered and sat at first table & settled in. The restaurant is divided by a breakfast bar with stools surrounding. However the section inside the door closest to door was closed so we had to move. Then walk through the bar area to the other part of the restaurant to have a seat in a booth, which is also incredibly hard to maneuver. OK so...My mother ordered the chicken salad which she could not eat. To tough. And yes she does have all of her teeth. 🤔 I ordered a cheeseburger which was a cheeseburger. The high point was the server she was wonderfully attentive. But the food not so much nor the management for the seating issues. I understand a section being closed but if you can serve the breakfast bar customers on the same side as the closed section it would not hurt the server to be able to, as Ross on Friends would say, pivot, pivot, PIVOT and offer service to a lady that has been coming to eat there before most of the staff graduated kindergarten. Im just saying. So all in all quite disappointed with the not so OK Coral.
Great home style cooking and breakfast in historic area of Atlanta. Its a busy place, but they get your food out fast and with a smile!
Friday was my time visiting and the food was so delicious, I had to go back today. Here visiting from Virginia. I will definitely visit again when I come back. Rebecca was an outstanding waitress
The OK cafe is so much better than just “OK”! Their portions are generous and the food is always fresh! Delicious southern food and great desserts also! I always order the fish sandwich and the fish doesn’t even fit onto the bun. My company ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and loved it too! Will be back again :)) also get the onion rings! So crispy and yum
This place is great for breakfast or brunch time. It is very classic look with an old school charm. The entire atmosphere once you walk in is very welcoming. It is ideal to take the family to if you would like breakfast or lunch. When we got there it was quite busy. I think you can expect that all the time. The wait was not too bad about 20 minutes. The food was also great. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good time to start your day with a good meal.
Such a wonderful place. Best vegetable plate, chicken pot pie, etc!
Great food and awesome staff. Very friendly atmosphere.
The Food and service was great also loved amount of food they gave. I do recommend 👍
Great food! Cool setting. Amazing pecan pie!
Their Take Away section doesnt offer as much as pre-covid but what they do offer is great. Have never had anything dine in or Take Away that was not great.
First time here and they have huge portions. I plan to go back since their food tastes great! It was a shocker!
Update to 5 starts ate here again with my wife and we couldnt habe askednfor a better time, the server was great the restaurant was very clean, and the food wow the chefs really know what there doing. Great place
Great food and great service. Would highly recommend!
Go to local Atlanta diner ..Southern comfort food that always hits the spot…restaurant is really run well…employees give their all to try and please…a must try for the outta towner…
The food is absolutely delicious! I am not disappointed with the dishes I order each time I visit. OK Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants to visit on a regular basis.
Delicious, well-seasoned, fresh, nice portions for the price. You can easily get 2 meals from one. Service is fast and courteous. You do not have to wait long to be seated.i recommend the meatloaf plate with mashed potatoes, green beans and Mac n cheese! The fountain drinks are so yummy. Cherry coke is a great recommendation.
Fantastic Service! My husband and I visited Atlanta for a Braves game and looked for a good eatery on the way home. We saw the sign for OK Cafe on I75 and thought, With a name like that, it has to be good! We were not disappointed! The vibe was amazing as soon as we walked in. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our waitress, Kirsten, was phenomenal. Our food was wonderful, but we were impressed most by the service! Well be back next time were in ATL.
This cafe is OK!Just kidding, I had the Turkey dinner. It was like Thanksgiving on a plate!Really good food, quick & friendly service!
Love this spot and have been going there since 1996 as a child. Stopped by today to enjoy the absolutely delicious food to find out that food was no longer their area of expertise. I was told they no longer serve coke products. Obviously this is a reaction to the Georgia voting law. Now that their area of expertise is political narratives, they can keep their food. I will never step foot in there again.
Great old school dinner atmosphere. Food was awesome. Service was spot on.
Absolutely loved this place. Such a cool retro theme. The decor was fun and very unique. The service was friendly and inviting. The establishment was clean and very well taken care of. The food was delicious and you got a lot. The prices were a little high say $15-20 per person. But worth every penny. Not a big menu but it covered the basics plus. I highly recommend this place for all ages.
Good, traditional, American/Southern style food served plentifully and served hot. Soup, chili, and several type salads are available as well as home-made milk shakes, and an extensive dessert list. Service was excellent. Casual, comfortable dining environment.
First time here. 5 pm on a Braves game day. It was packed with folks in their Braves shirts going to the game. Very cool, Americana interior. Lots and lots of friendly, busy servers. Big menu. Think Sunday dinner. We all ended up getting the turkey, bacon, avocado BLT sandwich. It was excellent. The large plates of meat and three being brought past our table to other patrons all looked great. Our server was very attentive and quick. The servers wear old fashioned looking waitress outfits and other staff wear really cool retro bowling shirts. Its quite an experience! I highly recommend it!
My grandparents love this place. Ive now gone with them twice and I see why. The portions are enormous. Both times Ive had enough left for another full meal. The food is obviously fresh, not sitting under heat lamps or microwaved, and everything Ive tried is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. Id definitely go back.
I had a wonderful experience at Ok Cafe. Our waitress was Rebecca and you could not have asked for a better lady bringing you great food. Everything was prepared to perfection and, in spite of being very busy, was brought out efficiently. Theres a bit of a wait to get in but well worth it. Our dessert was heated up slightly to give it just that extra bit of warmth and was oh so delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Home cooking southern style food that kicks a**! Been stopping in an occasion for 23 yrs. and plan on doing it for another 20 plus yrs.
