I don’t mean to be rude, but the chocolate just honestly does not taste that good. And the blood orange and raspberry flavor didn’t taste much like orange or raspberry. Also, it is ridiculously expensive — $11 for one singular candy bar. We thought it might be worth it as a one-time thing on vacation, since we never try crazy high priced food. I was quickly reminded why we never do this. The chocolate simply doesn’t taste that good, not much more to say. Don’t be tricked, more expensive does not equal higher quality in this case.

This is my go to local spot for all things chocolate. Their frozen sipping chocolate with coconut cream whipped cream is my absolute favorite dessert! I love to have a bite of their 100% pure chocolate bar after dinner to satisfy my chocolate craving. If you don’t like 100% chocolate, I recommend their “kissed mermaids” bar!

The Love & Happiness dark chocolate with blood orange olive oil and raspberries is phenomenal and probably one of the best bites of chocolate ever. Rich intensity of the small batch chocolate is balanced perfectly by the bright, tart, fruity dried raspberry. I got these as heart shaped bites for Galentine’s Day but they are sold year round as bars as well. Xocolatl also features other small batch producers from around the world in their wonderful shelf inside Krog Street Market. Years ago they were the only known purveyor in Atlanta to carry my fav Vietnamese small batch chocolate, Marou. This visit they had Chai Masala bars by French Broad made with Spicewalla spices, and a lychee rose bar by Fossa. They also offer hot cocoa bombs too in original and Salted Caramel. Love the chocolate discoveries on every visit!

Not only is this bean to bar chocolate a delicious culinary treasure to be savored and explored, their customer service can not be beat. I have been sheltering in place for months and ran out of chocolate during the hottest month of the year here in Georgia. I really wanted to support this local gem as well as re up my stock of bean to bar chocolate. Xocolatl was having an end of summer 10% off sale so I decided to buy the five bar single origin flight instead of just the one bar I had been dreaming of. I placed my order and got all the way to the end before I realized that the coupon did not take. I sent them an email just to let them know not to complain but to let them know. I was willing to pay full price but maybe others may not. I immediately received an email apologizing for the issue. It was a Saturday so I was told that they would take care of it on Monday. I let them know I would be happy to have additional chocolate in the value of the discount or a refund, whichever was better for them. I got an email saying they would be sending me their most popular bar Wide-Eyed which was a little higher in value that the discount. I got the tracking number and waited like a kid on Christmas Eve for the chocolate to arrive. I watched a waited by the mailbox and was there to receive the delivery directly from the postman. I didnt want the bars to sit out in the heat. Unfortunately, the chocolate had melted. Knowing that the chocolate would still be tasty just not shinny and as the maker intended I reached out to them to let them know how the bars arrived. I let them know I would be willing to wait until the weather cooled down and it was safe to ship the bars again but they insisted on shipping the order again. I received an email from one of the owners expressing their deepest apologies and asked that I explain a little more about how the order arrived and let me know that I would also be hearing from the shipping department to find out what went wrong since they had recently begun shipping during summer months. Before I could finish my email back the email from the shipping manager came asking how the order was packed so they could improve. That email also came with the tracking number of the replacement order before I could even respond the order was shipped out with extra ice packs and double insulation inside a box instead of an envelope which is how the original order came. I was already in love with their chocolates and their company belief in sustainable and ethical sourcing of cocoa. Add the top notch customer service and you have really got a winner. I highly recommend Xocolatl and would go so far as to implore you to support this small business to keep alive and not a casualty of the current crisis.

Really rich, delicious chocolate. It’s good to know a company that has so many unique + wonderful vegan, dairy-free chocolate products. Plus, the workers are very hospitable and allow newbies to small-sample the different flavors before you buy. They definitely got two brand new & returning customers in me & my husband today!

So i got here a little after they closed on monday but they hadn’t shut the registers down yet and they let me in! I think he said he was the sales manager and i don’t know if i ever got his name but he took the time to recommend some chocolate to me. Literally the nicest guy ever, working retail is hard and letting a customer in when your starting to shut down is not always easy! I used Xocolatl’s chef chocolate (Nicaragua 72%) to bake dark chocolate sea salt cookies for my family and friends, and they were divine! We all loved the rich flavors that the chocolate gave to the cookies, so I am never going back to purchasing cheap store bought chocolate anymore. I am always looking for ways to perfect my quintessential chocolate chip recipe, and this chocolate does it. I highly, highly recommend it, and it is definitely worth the money. Kissed Mermaids is my all time favorite chocolate bar here. I will continue to order it until I am in my graveyard! I usually like chocolate, but I dont LOVE it enough to eat it straight from the bar. The chocolate from here, though, tastes amazing and I can finish the bar in less than an hour... :( ill be coming back always!

I love to support local, artisanal shops but if the service is negative or apathetic, I will assume the product carries that same energy and avoid with a passion. Consider carefully who represents your business.

I wanted to show off my new batch of goods I got from Xocolatl but also give a shoutout to the Xocolatl team because they truly deserve it!! High quality chocolate and people. I can smell the chocolate through the wrappers as I am typing this right now... and my mouth is watering. Ive got to admit, I was never a fan of chocolate, but that was because the chocolate I ate all my life was the store-bought nestle and hersheys junk (no offense to nestle and hersheys lovers out there). Isnt it better to support your local, more sustainable businesses anyway? And as a plus, the chocolate is VERY yummy. Ive liked most of the chocolate Ive tried. They also have samples you can try before committing, but if you cant decide, they have award winning ones too and those are always a good idea :) Ive also successfully converted my sister into a xocolatl cacao nib lover. She lives in Korea and I have already sent 3 bags to her (will be 5 now) and she refuses to eat anyone elses nibs. Most of these bars are going to be sent to Korea to my sis and her bf and I am confident that theyll love them! The rest of them are for me (and maybe my family if Im feeling generous heheh). Seriously the BEST chocolate I have ever had!!! I am not really a dark chocolate kind of girl, but I got a bar for free in my Fresh Harvest vegetable box and it was amazing!! I and getting ready to place my third order and fear that I might be hooked :) :) :) So glad that I found them!!

Best chocolate I’ve ever had in my life. They have samplers of each flavor, so you can try before you buy. The downside of this is that you’ll want to buy every flavor. Beyond the quality of the chocolate, the customer service is just fantastic. I placed an online order and sent an email to the sales team to verify when the chocolates would arrive, as the order was for my father’s birthday. They responded within a few hours ensuring the order would arrive on time. A few days later, the package arrived and when I opened the package, a member of the sales team wrote a note wishing my father a happy birthday.

A bunch of different variations of chocolate, the ones I’ve had here are mostly dark and fairly bitter. My absolutely favorite item here is the frozen chocolate drink; if you’re into dark chocolate order yourself one and add some of the vanilla sea salt (a little goes a long way) and you’re in business. Kind and helpful staff at the counter.

The moment you walk into Krog Street Market the delicious aroma of chocolate tickles your nose. Xocolatl is the best chocolate in Atlanta! I highly recommend single origin Peru, Madagascar, or Nicaragua. The Commuter bar, Kissed Mermaid, and the Go Nuts are incredible as well. The staff are friendly and helpful and the chocolate is superb. The frozen drinking chocolate is also a fav of mine (and its dairy free so, everyone can enjoy it!)

Went for the sipping hot chocolate - ITS REALLY THICK. Would definitely recommend getting something to dip it in (we got Jenis and dipped the waffle cone and ice cream into the hot chocolate, which helped to mitigate the bitterness). If you like dark chocolate, this place is perfect. It has a lot of variety and the chocolate is very rich.

We drove one hour from Laguna Beach and we were not disappointed! Weve lived in Sweden for many years and really missed the great quality candy they had. Once we heard about Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate we had to try it - I can attest that they have the real deal. Great candy and a very helpful and nice staff.

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me to the chocolate tasting here through scoutmob. It was amazing! It was led by Matt, who is the owner, and he gave the history of the company and showed us how they make chocolate. We drank wine, tried different samples and tried their hot chocolate. Let me tell you- this stuff is amazing. Im a chocolate connoisseur, and the chocolate here is excellent. You can taste the difference. The hot chocolate was rich-no need to add sugar. We topped it with salt and spices that Matt makes. The night was perfect. Matt was an absolute delight and very personable. The chocolate paired with the wine he gave us made my birthday the best. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste high quality chocolate or someone who wants to support a local business.

TL;DR - expensive but WORTH ITThe chocolate is definitely going to be more expensive than your normal chocolate bar. But oh my goodness is it worth it. We tried the chocolate at a farmers market and it is incredible. They have a coconut sea salt chocolate that is unreal. The chocolate is so smooth and you can taste just a hint of every ingredient. Whats better is the chocolate is made from all real ingredients and the staff seem incredibly patient and knowledgeable. Its a worth a try, but be warned you will probably never want to eat chocolate from anywhere else again.

I dont normally like dark chocolate, but this stuff is AMAZING.They have samples you can try and the staff tells you all about how the ingredients are sourced and why something tastes the way it does.We bought a few bars and eat just one little piece and that one piece is so delicious and satisfying that you dont need any more than just a bite.

I thought the flavor was a bit too strong flavored for me. But I did enjoy the quality and texture of the chocolate bar.. next time, Id like to stick with the one I tried as a sample which was the Madagascar.I did not enjoy the flavor of the Americana which was infused with apples, vanilla and spices.

The service and the chocolate at this little shop changed how I view chocolate. The generosity of 10 minutes and 4 different tastes of their bean-to-bar chocolate and I was educated and hooked. I cant say enough good things. Ive loved all the bars Ive tried. Dont walk - run to here!! I am so impressed and thankful to have you guys in our city.

I dont usually write reviews but I couldnt resist after my experience with an Xocolatl employee. While visiting family in Atlanta a week ago, me and my sister went to a farmers market where I met a young colorful girl by the name of Char, selling dark chocolate. Im not a huge chocolate fan but this young lady seemed to convince me to try a sample and what a pleasant surprise. Ive never had such a pure tasting sweet treat. Chara was filled with information about how they make the chocolate locally and she even took a picture with me so I could remember her. I ended up buying quite a few bars but it was so worth it. I promised her that when I visit again I will bring all my friends so we can buy more of that delicious chocolate. I recommend XOCOLATL to all the chocolate lovers and make sure you ask for Char. This was by far one of the best costomer service experiences ever!

You can truly taste the difference in this chocolate. In fact, I am worried that I have just ruined other cholocates for me. This is delicious stuff! Oustanding product that should be treated like a delicacy.
