I have been getting daylight donuts in Athens since I was 18. I got some today when I came into town and I have to say that I was very disappointed. It was more like a cake donut than the original. They must have changed the recipe. Won’t be back. I can get a cake type donut from any donut shop.

The rich, very rich, poor, and in between come to Daylight Donuts for a pretty good sugar fix. Of course, you can go to Star Donuts on Corsicana but this is a tradition. Bill Clements always grabbed a dozen for himself w/o Rita needing to find out as he drove back to the house.

I think the original recipe has been changed. When they were down the block (about 30) years ago) at least 20 cars in line to get fresh donuts on Saturday or Sunday...just not the same.

Theres no others that can compare. I grew up eating daylight donuts. I live elsewhere now and still have yet to find a donut shop as good. The cinnamon bear claw was my favorite! The pigs in the blanket were also very good.

For years we have searched for anyplace that has donuts that would come close to the donuts from Daylight in Athens. We can find no other place that has the quality and taste that this place does. It has been a staple in Athens for many years, and its reputation is well earned. Great donuts.

Everything here is amazing, they almost always have hot and fresh glazed and chocolate donuts. Also always have quick service. I cannot find a better donut anywhere else.

These used to be the best donuts in town. Looks like a reciepe change or something. Two stars because the service was good.

Hands down, the BEST doughnuts in town!! Warm and wonderful, will leave you wanting a dozen!!! The apple fritters are INSANE and almost as big as a small pizza :O

Got a dozen donut holes after hours cause my kid was starving .. they were still great .thanks for putting them out even when you dont have to .. kid loved them too lol

They dont have anything to choose from. They dont even have sprinkled donut holes or jalapeño kolaches! And the young lady who ran the window was rude and very short with us. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!
