I feel very safe shopping here doing Covid and there staff is helpful and friendly. This store has our safety and their staffs safety a priority. Their staff is masked while working prior to opening and when opened. I will be shopping here instead of Trader Joes from now on.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this whole foods. This store in Ashville just seems to be so much better than this Decatur Georgia store.
This location is small so they tend to not always have everything Im looking for. It may also be something about the items I am usually looking for, sometimes when I think I can get whatever item they discontinue it at this location before the next time I try to repurchase said items. Also when looking for some items it seems when they do keep certain options they choose the more expensive versions which can be frustrating. My diet is vegan and certain things Im looking for can be specific though. I do the majority of my shopping next door and usually only get what cant be found there here to save money.
What a fantastic selection of foods to choose from for every dietary restriction. Every worker you encounter is happy to help and seems glad to be there. Outdoor seating is a great option as well.
Small, cramped, confusing space with a sad unfresh salad bar and very few deli offerings. Often run out of items. Many employees are grouchy and unhelpful. Its just down the road from us, but we prefer to drive the extra 20 minutes to go to the larger and vastly superior location on Tunnel Road. But its still a Whole Foods and beats the pants off of Trader Joes.
Obviously its a chain but in the Asheville area here so very clean well-organized friendly place all the natural and organic and environmentally conscious things great skin care supplements soaps and all that good stuff.
Such a cute place!! I loved the atmosphere and the staff were super helpful!
Parking lot is small, inside is small and everything is all out of sorts compared to the tunnel road location. One employee helped me finding the cheese while enjoying her early cup of Joe, which was helpful.
Honestly. This is the worst Whole Foods I have been to . I have been to many all over the country and always shop at Whole Foods when I am traveling for work to find fresh / healthy meal options. Salad bar sucked ( closes at 7:30pm?), no sushi, they had little to no premade salad options / and or healthy meal options and what they did have looked like it had expired. I checked almost every bag on the shelf and all of it looked bad….. I was desperate and almost ate this overpriced garbage. Whoever manages this store needs to update this store. Very very underwhelming.
This little Trader Joes was right in downtown Asheville very nice people! I came in to get a Trader Joes bag specifically made for North Carolina. In case most of you dont know most of the state you go to they have their own Trader Joes bag. I try and collect them from each state I go to.
Whole foods has good products but its so darn expensive! How do their competitors across the street manage to sell things at a third the price? I came for something specific here that I couldnt get elsewhere. Obviously Whole Food does not have a shortage of patrons, but its too rich for my blood.
AWESOME! ❤ their sales here
#grateful they always have the best service best employees and the freshest food we are so glad they are part of our community it sure is awesome having a big parking lot so we can park a U-Haul truck cuz we do household moving
Staff wonderful. Selection great. Most patrons.... Not so much
Always love it and their products with helpful employees
Beautiful and fresh flower selection. The Oriental Lilies were gorgeous and a great find!
Great place to quickly return Amazon items with minimal effort. I dont shop here--the prices are too high.
Some toxic energy in here when it comes to the front end managers. But the employees are mostly great.
First time Ive been to this store. It is so claustrophobic. Couldnt wait to get out of there.
I can get my super healthy staples here, like Hempe and wildbrine fermented veggies and good quality miso. They seem to have organic kale when competitors are out.
All the staff was super nice. This young lady in the coffee area was super nice. She explaind the differences between the latte flavors. I beleive her name was Diana.
Katie in whole food was excellent, She helped me find what I was looking for and also had other suggestions of items She has a great personality and was very helpful indeed, overall the store was loaded and clean, store personnel were friendly, cant complain.
This is Whole Foods. They would be five stars if I was honest, but since I secretly resent them for destroying local businesses, I can only award four. And my business. Best meat, best pastries, best, comprehensive suite of services, convenient, eclectic, and mostly ethically sourced. Zero personality. Sigh.
High priced hipster food store has excellent selection of all things organic and expensive. Large homeopathic and herbal section.
Feels nice and clean and covid safe. Thank you to our essential grocery store workers!
I dont cook. Ever. But this year I did Thanksgiving for my household, Francis in produce showed me how pick out fresh veggies. Good guy, patient.
I love this grocery store!
Kind service and good products. Its what you could expect from almost any whole foods.
Great food and service
Oddly small whole foods, kind of makes you wonder why it even bothers to exist next to a trader joes and a Harris teeter. The single exit leads to a bottleneck where youre bound to be stuck behind someone with a cart looking for their car keys. Theres kind of a sitting area over by what I assume by the naked street pole in the middle of the lawn is a dog walking area. Hard to find public trashcans to use. Only 1 baguette left by 2pm. Will probably just stick to Harris teeter, even without the free sugar cookies its still a safer bet.
This one of the few stores that actually requires masks. All merchants are suppose to, but the Buncombe County Health Department obviously lacks the capacity to enforce its own regulations because virtually every store you go in 50% of the staff or customers dont care enough about America to protect other citizens. Its a refreshing change shopping here where customers are generally considerate of your personal space and dont climb over your back to get to a product because they think its going to grow legs & run out of the store. And yes, the prices are high but they arent outrageous. And the quality of the produce here cant be compared to say, Aldi. Itd be like comparing apples and bowling balls. Whole Foods makes Aldi look like a third-world market.
Great place to shop. Wonderful customer service!
Shopping at Whole Foods is easy and fun! The little kiddy carts are a plus for the kids. The fruits and veggies are always fresh!
I got one of the best watermelons Ive ever had, and the quick oats from the bulk food aisle have a texture thats like eating a bowl of silk. There was also a t-shirt I really wanted but it was $30 which is pretty on-brand for a place thats nicknamed Whole Paycheck.
Just started shopping here. Love it!
Found Buffalo mozzarella cheese here. Three different sizes which is impressive. The deli pastrami is also very good.
Very nice Whole Foods. Funny it is next to Trader Joes and Harris Teeter. They have a great selecitons of local products!
Whole Foods stores are now basically Amazon distribution locations-since they took over, the available products in homeopathy and other natural sources have been eliminated or cut back-when they reduce their prices for sales on their brand the competition is NOT STOCKED-I personally BOYCOTT AMAZON-it UNDERMINES entrepreneurs & destroys local employment and local Economies
Great place to find all your produce. Always friendly faces to guide you if needed.
A pleasure to shop in Asheville, Whole Foods was a bonus. Surrounded by additional food shopping experiences. Another favorite of mine, Trader Joes .
Salad and hot bar were back open. Made putting together a vegetarian picnic easy?
Whole Foods is just ok. I wouldnt go out of my way to go to one. There is nothing special about them, theres too many of them, they are poorly stocked, and they seem to grab up empty or up to lease buildings simply to keep other stores out. Theres not enough people who go here to require all the stores and spaces they have. They need to work on stocking their existing stores before opening more.
Didnt have what I needed because its not a full size store. Also was not impresses with the store front staff.
It was a great experience today at Whole Foods. Was there @3pm, very light traffic in parking lot and the store. Was able to get what I needed quite quickly and get in and out. Everyone had masks on.
01/24/2021Everyone in this Whole Foods location was really nice but Craig is especially awesome!!! Excellent customer service!!!!!!
Love how fresh everything is and the meats are out of this world
We had an office luncheon catered by the 68-70 Merrimon Ave. Whole Foods store and the food was delicious, served hot as requested, delivered on time, with a very gracious service staff handling the delivery. In addition to the various catered food items being delicious, the portions were quite generous. I would recommend using them for catering an event, they stuck the landing! Their prices are also very competitive.
The associates were nice to me and helpful. They didnt have one of the items I was looking for but I got everything else and enjoyed it.
Always good.
Stock is getting more reliable, but still missing some items that I shop for.still doing an excellent job at metering, sanitizing karts, and other safe practices.
Some great deals and the food is not in pieces so thats good. it is whole
Enjoyed the India spiced vegetarian food from the hot bar.
I honestly love Whole Foods but I dont love this store. Now it feels like going through TSA at the airport if I had drugs on me. I was treated horribly and almost kicked out because they felt I wasnt within 6 ft of somebody, note one step difference. If this is the way to a better world it is sick! Welcome to communism brought to you by Whole Foods. Make sure you walk the correct way down the aisles, they are literally standing there to make sure of it. If you dont see this as evil you need to question your beliefs.
Buyers beware!Whole Foods has changed its return policy. More like no return policy. Tried to return an unopened item (herbal tea) and was told, no returns, no refunds. I understand there is a concern w/ COVID, however no effort to try and make things right. No gift card offer, no exchange for another item of similar price.Spent @ $150 last visit and now for an unwanted $10 item, will not be returning to this store.
Drew in produce has always been very helpful and attentive!
Super small Whole foods. Still has just about everything!
There are wonderful people that works there. My God bless them beyond all measures.
One of the best food stores to shop at that comply to all infection control covid-19 policies. This is one of the safer places to shop.
Driving 50 miles to Green Life is still worth the drive. Best and freshest organic vegetables and fruits anywhere! Vegan options are unlimited. Staff is friendly too. Nice bulk section. A shopping experience every time that is so relaxing. Thank you Green Life!
Really nice and positive staff super helpful and friendly
Cool place good products
Always a stop on the way home from Raleigh. The pandemic has limited the food choices but we know we will get good value and quality here.
Lots of high quality food products. Whole foods sells only great quality products made with wholesome ingredients. Great selection of produce, meats, groceries etc. The bakery offers many selections. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Great service and products
They have great sales and great quality and everyone is very helpful, at least the people I spoke with.
I have to give five stars because I visit more that any other grocery. The selection has changed over the years. I used to buy more here. The people are always great and very helpful
Stopped for groceries on our 3 day trip, got food poisoning from the smoked salmon spread- whole foods brand. Came for hiking to celebrate our engagement, but couldnt leave the room, we both vomited all night . Had to cancel our dinner reservations, total nightmare. The only thing we ate was the salmon spread, it said it didnt expire for 3 weeks.
The staff go out of their way to help when you ask for an item. Very helpful and courteous!
Great
Awesome experiences ordering greenery for my wedding! This store has very professional, kind, helpful people who made sure that ordering the eucalyptus for my wedding decorations was an easy part of wedding planning. They gave me advice, helped me when the plants I wanted were not available and then made sure I had the best eucalyptus alternative.
The amount of wax on the apples conditions the skin of the fruit to the point that it is hard on the mouth to eat. You can call it organic because you have the lobbying power to, but this kind of nonsense is neither natural, nor whole. Consider a corporate name change to Greenwashed Foods
Im happy that they are on Merrimon. I do appreciate their produce and bulk sections. Their staff are usually very nice. Their aisle width leaves more to be desired. For a larger chain, they could stand to lower their prices on beer. Its the smaller of the 2 Whole foods in town. Enjoy the one on Tunnel Rd with larger aisles and kickin bratwurst and cider. You can drink a beer while shopping. I think we all need to make a point of this in our lives! At least once.
Great staff. Would have given 5 stars but the 5 boxes of cookies we bought off the shelf (Cybeles) were stale. Were on the road and will eventually check to see if another WFs will return or exchange them.
Location was nice and clean. The store is small so selection is somewhat limited. The staff was great.
I don’t think I have ever reviewed a chain or franchise. Why bother? They don’t need my help.I’m visiting from out of town and have been here a few times this past week and every single time I’ve had wonderful service. I mean employees that go above and beyond with any simple question. They will quickly drop everything to help me out without prompting! And they’re sincerely nice about it! I’m from NYC. The best I can say is service there is, um, efficient.I said as much to the cashier today and she said that it’s probably a product of the community. Well, I wish it would rub off to the WF on Tunnel Rd. Service was there was a little brusque, kinda rude.Well done Merrimon Whole Foods!
A wonderful place to shop and eat. Pleasant atmosphere. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff they are courteous and efficient. The food is delicious 😋and healthy.🌼😊😊
Sweet one
Really disappointing compared to other Whole Foods stores. Minimal prepared foods options, very narrow aisles, and difficult to navigate. Also left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness.
Small store. Didnt have many items I get at other WF locations
Nicest Whole Foods I’ve ever been in.
Very friendly, helpful staff.
I’ve never seen an undesirable Whole Foods. Whole place is Dirty and the prepared food looked old. Very surprised I expect so much more from WF.
Great
Its whole foods. Like many, the store is very clean & well kept up, produce fresh, and a tremendous amount of organic fares. Great hot & cold bar, deli, smoothies, etc. Prices are what youd expect for whole foods, but they do have great daily specials and sales. Bonus, this one is centrally located next to alot of other shops and restaurants, within the same or adjacent plazas and easy walking distance.
LOVE their variety. They go out of their way to make sure your shopping experience is a pleasure. Super friendly helpful professional staff. Prices are comparable with other stores. Couldnt ask for more, i love this place!!❤
Top Notch products and excellent customer service. That particular day, I went in to browse for supplements. I do not recall her name, but there was a Herbalist that spent an appreciable amount of time with me. She listened to my my health concerns, reviewed my experience with supplements and prescription medications-past and present. She then formulated a plan, explaining her methodology and science behind it. Her recommendations were nothing less than AMAZING! Independently good, synergistically great. I also appreciate that she took my finances into consideration and steered me away from products that I haphazardly grabbed. A true professional!
Lots of good stuff you cant find in most grocery stores, will break the bank
No GF tortellini or ravioli. Literally, the only thing I cant seem to find anywhere right now.
We don’t have a Whole Foods Market in the town I live in so my exposure and the resulting opinion probably needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Having said that, they seem to have an interesting and varied offering of products. I don’t know if it’s the norm for Whole Foods or if it’s because it’s an Asheville location but if your into alternative/organic/free range grocery products, this is your place to shop.
At 2:45 ran in for a late lunch. Ordered a tofu bowl, was told they were out of tofu and wouldnt have more until the next day! How is this possible? And they were out of scallions and all the other toppings for the bowl...they wouldnt have more of those things until the next day too! So, for the rest of this day (Friday) those items are not available in this grocery store?? So, I go upstairs where my friend is waiting, he ordered a burger while I was still downstairs. Their was no other real customers there but friends of the cook chatting with him. After waiting 20min. The cook came to confirm the order and then went back to start cooking it. So another 10min go by, 30 min to get a burger and fries! It really seemed like lazy workers, Management needs to do something about this horrible customer service.
Just an excellent adult shopping store for uniquely food products among countless other great products..Hollywood✌
One of my favorite places to shop while on buisness in Asheville. I especially like the baked goods - the danishes are particularly good.
I saved money with the Amazon app! Small Whole Foods, but a Whole Foods nonetheless.
High end grocery, but everything is lovely. Great tea selection. Fishmongers could be a little nicer.Best place to buy in bulk section.
Love it. Eat only organic.
