The staff is amazing! They were attentive and super helpful. I went in yesterday (Tuesday) and let me just tell you, I have been going to the Arlington location for years now and the attitude and atmosphere has DEFINITELY improved in the last few months. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Very great selection of materials and tools. However, they tend to be a more expensive than many online and in-person retailers. Had two different employees tell me incorrect information on three separate occasions. I ended up wasting over $60 worth of materials and gas after making two trips on the same day. Most of the employees seemed to not care about my problems (one even laughed after I made the comment of me wasting money and time). I hate going in there because every time the employees make me feel like an idiot. I wish there were different hardwood stores that were near me. However, Andreas (apologies if I misspelt it) is an absolute saint. She was super helpful and understanding. If I do go back, it will be because of her.

I so appreciate how their employees actually KNOW what they are tallimg about. And, as if that werent good enough, their employees know the limits of their own knowledge, and whe to refer to someone else.By coming to Rockler, you might pay more for a given product, but you are guaranteed to at least get the knowledgeable information to help you make a decision about what you need. For me, I will always pay the extra for the assurance to know it is accurate!

Definitely take a woodworking class her. I did a bowl turning class and had lots of fun and have a unique wooden bowl to show for it.

Been going here for years, even when it was on the other side of the bridge. If I want to talk, there is always someone there for that, and if I want to get my supplies and get quickly back to work, that is just as simple.They have what I need and in the quantities I need and friendly associates to help when I need it. What is not to like about that?

1st time at Rockler, and I will definitely back. And here is why. Even though this hardware store is small (think small town hardware of the past, you remember, the ones ran out of business by mega building supply warehouses the gave us the concept of ANYTHING you need now and at CHEAPER costs. After that we were like cows to the slaughter). Well the reason I discovered rockler, was because I was looking for a clear top coat water-based matte finish or flat finish. And after going online and to multiple Lowes and home Depot warehouses, would you know I could not find those finishes in flat or matte finish even though its now the popular trend. Now I could buy it online and if I bought enough product I could qualify for free shipping or free store pickup and its going to take a couple of weeks. Who had it? Rockler, and I was happy to see that there was a location in Arlington. So I enter this small store, and what did I do it was immediately noticed multiple employees who actually asked every time they passed by me was I finding everything all right, did I need any help, is there anything I can help you with? Now there are some questions I havent heard in a very long time. Much less actually see an employees walk around the big conglomerates. But I had spotted what I needed immediately (since I didnt have to track 50 mi to the aisle where it should have been located in those other stores), I thought well I bet these people here are actually experts, actually people who take pride in their job and have a knowledge base. Sure enough, if they didnt know the answer they got someone involved who did. Someone help me with gluing back a split drawer facing, and explain to me how a sprayer works that can use with both paint and finishing coats. (I salvage and paint furniture to give them new Do you think I would have gotten any of that information at Lowes or Home Depot? I wouldnt have been able to even find an employee except for the one standing there that make sure that I self-check out without swiping something. And this little stores inventory? They have just about everything I needed or asked about for the project. But do you think Lowes or home Depot had the one product that I wanted after checking multiple stores and going online? Not in their stores. They did online I would have had to wait for store pickup or gotten free shipping if I bought enough products to qualify. But I got it here at Rocklers. I even bought another product as well that I wasnt planning on buying just because of the expertise and the way they spoke to me and genuinely wanting to help me. Oh and heres the real kicker. I was searching for a particular brand that is well known and a particular finish, which I got at Rocklers. But had I not discovered Rocklers and I had ordered from home Depot or Lowes it would have been a major difference increase in price. And if youre thinking well what about Amazon? They were even higher, I mean heart stoppingly higher. So yeah rocklers is on my new favorite list of retailers. Im heading back to customer service, and employees who actually know something about the job theyre doing. Its the way things used to be, and its the way things should be when Im doling out my money. So heres a big A+ to Rockler!! BONUS: treat yourself and stop by the exotic wood sample section. Well you can actually feel and look at different woods from around the world before you actually order. Incredible, absolutely gorgeous woods.

Stopped in during the Grand reOpening of the store since theyve expanded the store. We chatted with Bill (store manager) and several others, and with the store being very busy with demos and customers, they all seemed relaxed and friendly.After many questions with Big Mike, we never felt any pressure to go one direction or another. He simply gave us information and allowed us to make a decision that best suited our needs. We ultimately bought a machine that was in two boxes, and left unknowingly without one. Easy mistake; the manufacturer should have done a better job of labeling their boxes! We called and spoke with Bill who was very apologetic. He took care of us and made sure that we had all of the missing pieces on our return trip.The staff at this location has always been great. The atmosphere is professional, yet relaxed. The store is well organized and has always been clean. Other retail establishments need to look at what these folks are doing and do the same!! This is how a store should be operated.

I bought one of the 650cfm Dust Right dust collection units about 15 months ago. The collector started randomly making a screaming and grinding noises about 11 months after my purchase. I was in the middle of a project and began trying to catch it in the act. I finally was able to record it doing the screaming/grinding thing since it was the kind of problem that had to be heard to be understood.Rockler technical support said they had not heard of this problem before and would call me back (they didn’t). Was told they don’t carry replacement parts for this unit. As the problem started before the warranty expired, I went back to the store to beg them to fix it under warranty. But it was now 14 months after my purchase date and warranty work wasn’t going to happen. My vacuum system is designed around this unit, and I was frustrated with the notion of being forced to buy another (possibly defective) unit to replace it. I asked Big Mike if anything could be done. He said he’d make a few phone calls and see what could be done. After a while he called me back and said Rockler would replace my defective unit with a brand new one.They didn’t have to do anything but tell me, “sorry, your warranty has expired,” but they didn’t. They went to bat for one of their regular customers and did the right thing. My new unit is now installed and working great. These people took care of me and I am extremely grateful to them for going the extra mile to help me. I considered giving them 4 stars because of their defective product, but their customer service deserves the 5 star rating.

Came in for a lathe tool rest, was in and out easily even in these troubled times. Great store, I would.love to spend an hour poking around.

Found a few irens needed for my box

Although I have been a Rockler customer through mail order, this was my first visit to a store, received the grand opening flyer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The store apperance was clean and the items were well displayed. If I only had a larger shop......I wanted 1 of everything. Worth the 20 minute drive.

These guys are allThe best. I can occasionally find better deals online, but I pass them up because places like this need to stick around. I might save a dollar online, but what I’ve gained in knowledge from the fellas is priceless. They greet me and each of my family members by name. They let my kids run around and even play along with them. I’m thankful for the wealth of information and even friendships that I’ve formed Here.

This place is great. But one of the people working there, not so much. I young guy cashed my out and did not put a magazine I wanted into my bag and I did not notice it unlit I got home an hour away. He did not seem to be all there while checking me out, like he wanted to be somewhere else. Maybe he should have been.

Great place to get true tools for a wood workers

Im new to the wood working world and have found that many stores *cough* (would crapped) aghm. Excuse me. As i was saying, many stores treat me as a nusciance. Rockler is by far the best I have found this far! It wasnt 5 star treatment, but they treated me like an actual CUSTOMER!! Any specialty shop is going to be pricy but the best prices (and system) i have found for carbide lathe tools is with these guys. All in all, id rather drive 35 minutes to give them my money than buy from the shop across the street.

I have visited several Rockler outlets before this one is by far the smallest. It had limited floor space with only a few tools on display. They had a couple of books and a limited assortment of hardwood.

Picked up some nice turning wood for my next project.
