We arrived too late to take advantage of Happy Hour which ended twenty minutes earlier. We ordered the Fried Shrimp as our appetizer. The shrimp was tasty but the waitress didnt leave small plates to share it. The bowl containing my salad was so tiny the salad fell out the bowl when I mixed it. Next, the entree arrived and every portion except the mashed potatoes was heavy on salt. Although the food was disappointing, our waitress was great. She was very attentive and gave us good service.
Was a beautiful diner. Our waitress was exceptional & made us feel like family. And every precaution has been taken to keep us safe from exposure to the virus. Food was wonderful. This restaurant makes you feel like royalty. It was our first visit, but not our last as we will try other locations!
Service was quick, tho they brought out our entrees 2 minutes after the appetizer.Food was pretty good, we would both go again, but this particular visit the mashed potatoes were salty enough to send back and the chicken picante was so salty I had to scrape the sauce off. They had no problem bringing us new food.My vegetarian wife and I had the meatless tacos for an appetizer and they were really good.Wife had what looked like a cauliflower hoagie, and it surprised me by being a good sandwich. She loved it.Chicken piccate, fara, & mixed veggies was actually delicious except for the picante sauce that was inedible. If you order poached eggs, be sure to tell them that you expect the yolk to be runny.
Older son ordered your new menu dish of stuffed French Toast with apples, eggs and sausages. Super delicious thumbs up!my favs is your chopped steak with white gravy, eggs with biscuit, real comfort...the best all around
Very good food. Loved the French fries. I made my burger with the toppings I wanted. The server was very good and checked on us several times. Everyone wore masks and theres plastic dividers between the booths. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place. They have organic and even bison and gluten free so they cater to the healthy eater even if its a burger. They even breakfast foods 24 hours a day with fresh Amish eggs.
Good place for Sunday brunch! They don’t take reservations, but luckily the wait wasn’t too long (they will text you when your table is almost ready). Food was good and prices were reasonable. For appetizers, the Shrimp Quesadilla and Chicken Tenders were good! For entrees, we enjoyed: Short Rib Benedict, Chicken and Waffles, Corned Beef Hash & Pancakes.
I dine at silver diner very often. This weekend I had the chance to stop by the Columbia location. Need I say, the service was the best I’ve had in all the locations I dined in. My server was very knowledgeable of his silver diner products. Even took time to help my kids find something they would like to eat as well, being as though they’re gluten free. I’ll be visiting the Columbia location a lot more often.
I visited this marvelous place 45 minutes before closing and I received excellent service and delicious food these lamb meatballs is the idea of a genius, the watermelon cucumber mint lemonade is unbelievable...Im definitely going to be a regular good food good service...I wish I had more time to savor every bite...the options are plentiful for any diet
Well, the manager was very apologetic. Is that a good start? I guess it really wasnt a terrible experience. They told us our pickup would be ready at 7. We called to let them know we were in the lot at around 7:15. Called back around 7:30 when there was still no food. Got put on hold for a while longer and eventually had to go in to find out what the hold up was. No real explanation about what went wrong, but they were very sorry about it. And the kicker? The milkshake order was all fakakta! But, the food was pretty good and the portions were generous. Id be willing to give them a second chance sometime.
First time customers. Impressed with the menu, especially the Vegan and vegetarian options. My husband had the Ruben; good size, excellent bread, perfectly cooked fries. My quinoa coconut pancakes had blueberries and pecans in them with grilled bananas - incredible. Side of sausage links were perfectly cooked with that slightly crunchy caramelized exterior. We will definitely be back!
Earned a second chance. The restaurant was clean, the staff was courteous if inexperienced.Unfortunately the food was bad and too expensive. Two slices of unmelted cheese and some burned bacon does not a $12 Deluxe grilled cheese make. The lemon chicken piccatta was overly seasoned (with Mrs Dash) without any hint of lemon. The manager comped our half eaten meals and offered us a free entree for our next visit. If we go again we will try a burger, as that seems more their lane. The fries were decently good.
The menu selection amazed me, especially for a diner. The variety is great. Our food was good. We had the lamb meatballs for an appetizer. I had a chopped Cobb salad ( I asked my server if it could not be chopped she just shrugged). My son ordered fish tacos it came with a side salad( but the menu doesnt say it contains nuts) he is allergic. When I spoke with the server about this she was unbothered. I spoke with the manager who apologized. I will still come back, the food was good and hopefully we will get a different server because if not I will ask for one.
Very good food and super tasty shakes. The omelette I had was great.
Ive dined here 4 times and each time I was not disappointed. Great service, clean & orderly dining area, the menu has a wide variety of selections, from vegan to bison burgers, and a great bar. Each meal Ive had there was tasty and well thought out.Ive recommended the Silver Diner to friends and family.
The food @ Silver Diner was phenomenal. I’m not a French toast guy but I must say I would like at this a few days a week, lol. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Maddy for going above and beyond. What seems should be standard isn’t always practiced, but Maddy was observed disinfecting each menu page by page. Awesome job Maddy and thanks for keeping us and yourself safe.
Good service and. Great food 😋
Our waitress Sephora was great, however the food is honestly expensive for a diner. I was drinking my drink when all the sudden I had something come through the straw . It was old nasty lemon seeds. This obviously leads to knowing that dishes are definitely not being cleaned as I was drinking a soda . Our food tasted alright but the potatoes were lacking seasoning . My drink was compensated but it definitely ruined the experience completely at this diner.
The best dinner in the world? I can’t imagine any American dinner even close to this place, seating capacity is huge with always enough people to support it, more Details: best menu- they have EVERYTHING, classics, vegetarian/vegan, etc, have a bar area, excellent service and the food prep is superb. I could make this a novel but I’ll stop here.
The silver diner always provides a good food experience and more often than not...good service as well. The last time we went was probably the worst since our waiter disappeared and was no where to be found for a good 15 - 20 minutes while we waited for our check but the food was good. I have gone here with my little sister to satisfy her vegan diet while also having plenty of options for myself. All the vegan food we tried, was pretty yummy and I probably would order some of it for myself. My ultimate favorite is the hibiscus soy shake...I still think about it and want one each time I go. One of the last times I went, I ordered the pickle-brined chicken and waffles. It was interesting....VERY VERY pickle tasting, which turned me off but I think with an adjustment to the brine it could be a sure winner. We have tried the country scrambler and it was a good portion that definitely was filling. I have started to order a biscuit each time I go for breakfast food and while its nothing extremely special, it just hits the spot. Overall, the silver diner is a nice choice to satisfy everyone in the party. I just wish the breakfast menu was a little more extensive!
Our waitress was AWESOME. Food was out in a timely manner. Very delicious. She was very helpful
Been here a couple of times but just thought reviewing today after our lunch. This is place is always good! The servers might seem a bit off when they’re busy but overall it’s always a good time. I admire this place for having variety on their food and drinks menu while always maintaining excellent food quality! I got the fish tacos today and the salad that came with it was just amazing. The strawberry looked fresh & happy lol! The fish in my tacos looked like an actual piece of fish and not those perfectly shaped rectangular frozen pieces. Will keep coming back here :)
Late night dessert. Their version of Smith island cake was nothing like the original but it was yummy
We enjoyed our food. I especially appreciated many gluten free option they have. The caramel french toast was amazing! Strawberries and real maple syrup was extra. I like having an option. My partner had wheat waffle. The coffee was too strong and bitter for our taste.
I really like this place, I came two days in row.thats how much I loved it. Everyone is very professional, Mustapha was so sweet and hard working he did such an amazing job the food was awesome I really enjoy it
I dislike writing reviews like this. Service was slow. The server was very busy socializing with another server with her phone out, while we needed attention. We were not rude towards her. Food was great. Service, no.
Hard to judge the because they were short staffed because no one wants to work these days but my pancakes were mediocre and the bacon wasnt crispy, it was pink and chewy... The way I hate it.Food was just ok but I also understand the crisis they were in so Ill give them another shot. The manager was nice and apologized for the long wait.
Ordered for delivery for four people. Dish 1 did not come with its side and Dishes 2 & 3 were salads and did not come with any dressing. Ive been in the service industry and these are things I would never even call and complain about, however, Dish 4 was the plant based Beyond Burger and we were sent a real burger that couldnt be eaten. That drew the line, so I gave them a call. The manager, lets call her M, was very apologetic and said she would issue a refund considering the entire order was incorrect. One week passed and the refund was never issued so I gave a call to follow up. None of the managers had any answers for me and I was to expect a call from M when she came in to work. I never received that call back and when I called again M was unavailable. Another week went by and still no refund and I got the same run around by calling the place. Needless to say my last resort was to file a claim with my bank and that was denied so I am out $100 for missing dishes, dry salads, and a burger that couldnt be eaten. The bottom line? If you are going to be the diner where an entree is $17-20 dollars, you may want to hire a management team that ensures the food going out is correct and the customers are walking out the door satisfied instead of disappointed. My wife and I supported this place since we have moved to the area and now they just lost a pretty regular customer.
So much better then your traditional diner food! A lot of items are also seasonal which keeps not only the food but the menu fresh. They have some healthier options that are still pretty tasty
I was expecting more, everything was average at best. The Hollandaise sauce tasted like it was premade and then reheated. The menus says “bottomless” coffee... well that may be true, but you have to find the server first. He would sit in the back on a stool until somebody would call for him. The one other customer in the restaurant said something about his lack of attention, then he went and sat back down, lol. Needless to say, I will not be back, there are too many choices in the area.
I have been here twice in the last few weeks. The people are great and the place is very clean. You have the option to dine inside or out. I find the drinks a little pricey but the food is very good and the service is great. I highly recommend the protein pancakes and the buttermilk pancakes. The coffee is very good and seems to be heavily caffeinated. After 2 cups I was on a caffeine high.
So delicious, the food here is amazing, sandwiches, salad, breakfasts too. Milkshakes are heavenly, the rest of the dessert menu is bangin. Favorite thing about this place: it is always so clean. Ive been here many times, any time of day, and it always looks and feels clean and taken care of. No complaints about the staff, of course. Id live here if I could.
Really liked this place. Food is a little different in flavors then a regular diner do go in expecting that and youll have fun :)
We ordered triple layered chocolate cake but it was dry and the taste was not good as expected personally I didnt like it .may be next time I will order different desert
I had a lovely first-time, plant-based experience here this morning. I ordered the Coconut Curry Tofu Skewers, and it surprisingly became my favorite vegan dish so far! The curry is so creamy and has nice little heat on it. Its absolutely perfect. Its honestly so difficult to find plant-based food around here, esp in diners, and so this was a spontaneous choice that became my favorite! Also, Angel was a very attentive and pleasant server. Really enjoyed his quick, kind, and attentive service throughout our meal. Im definitely excited to come back and try their plenty of other vegan dishes!!
Fantastic Farm-To-Table Brunch. Quality food, from local purveyors, served hot. Details such as: organic ketchup & organic jams/jellies most appreciated. Best of ALL: our waiter Diam was attentive, engaging, smiling and just happy to be there! Excellent experience, well be back!
I definitely will not be going back anytime soon and 99% of the reason is because of the food. Everything was either way overcooked or bland and just overall unpleasant. You get good portion sizes to sort of justify the price but its just not good quality. I normally dont leave reviews like this but it was just that bad.
Great outdoor and indoor dining in here. Staff were kind well trained for comfort dining here.Good local restaurant.
Jamal out server was super nice, another gentleman came by before to get drink order so everyone seemed attentive. Food came out hot and good. French toast werent the best but chicken and waffles were good.
Thrilled theres a Silver Diner in Columbia! Ive been twice for lunch and both times were great. Chicken and waffles were delicious, and the southwest turkey sandwich was super tasty too. Ancient grain shrimp salad had really good flavor too the only downside is the wait during lunch hours on weekdays... The line can get a bit backed up. Im sure weekend breakfast and brunch will fill up quickly too.
The Milkshake I loved but the Food was not Good to ME. My dinner was the Salmon with brown rice and vegetables. It was terrible.
Excellent breakfast and large portions. Many options for vegan and low cholesterol meals. Fresh hot coffee
Menu options subpar - My daughter ordered FOUR... I repeat 4 regular pancakes and they tried to charge us $12.00 they basically charged us 10 we could have gotten a whole platter for less than this at Ihop. I ordered a Mimosa - they filled the glass about 1/4 the way up.... it was ridiculous but then wanted FULL price for a 1/2 glass of drink. I paid for all my food even tho I was NOT satisified.... I just figured I will never frequent this establishment again in life. I wanted a omelette they do not have the build your own options so my omelette ended up being $20.FOR EGGS AND SOME VEGGIES!?!??! I will NOT BE BACK.... so basically for a meal for TWO - pankcakes, omelette, and 1/2 of a Mimosa.... I spent $45 at this place. Never again. There are better food options and breakfast places than this place Dont do it. Its not worth it. The waitres was just okay and the manager wasnt much better. Food subpar, service subpar. I hadnt been in over 10 years and wont be back.
The food was ready quickly, the staff brought it outside to our car. Everyone liked their meal. We got 2 chicken tender meals, one tuna melt (relish was mixed in), a pastrami reuben (w/o sauerkraut), a chunky monkey milkshake, and a raspberry milkshake. Portions were good sized, chicken noodle soup was tasty and hearty, fries were cooked very lightly, and the coleslaw was not drowning in mayo.
We arrived 40 minutes before this establishment was to close, we still received exceptional service. We never felt rushed. The food came out fast and hot. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We were party of 4 adults; pleasant dining experience-early dinner 5pm ish;club sandwich, cheese burger, salmon &waffle w/eggs were our entrees - all delicious & eggs (scrambled well done cooked as desired);exceptional service - polite, courteous. We were very pleased and will return when in this area. Outdoor seating under canopy was available but we ate inside.
How mess up a turkey burger and a grilled chicken sandwich?? No serious question, my chicken was over seasoned and tasted like it had been stir fried (it was a basic grilled chicken sandwich with fried onions) and the turkey burger was gamey with no seasoning at all. Save your money, other options are down the street.
Food was great especially the shrimp quesadillas. Took us a while to get seated but it was almost 1am.
I attempted to dine here here on what I thought was opening day. They had signs, flags and balloons up. There were spotlights zipping across the sky and a blimp floating overhead. The Blue Angels even did a flyover. I was so excited about this place. I eagerly rushed to the door, eyes wide open with my tongue hanging out. I reached the door just to be stopped by a gatekeeper who informed me that the opening was private - only for local, Invited guests. I walked away hungry and determined to never visit this place again. I forgot about it after that. Even though I frequently pass it I just dont see it. Now I sit here contemplating another visit. I checked the reviews and saw a photo of the corned beef hash - its canned. There were other comments that make me less than enthusiastic about going in. I like the idea of a diner in Columbia but I am not sold on this place. I dont know, maybe next time. I did embellish the part about the flyover, by the way.
Just left the Silver Diner in Columbia MD our meals were absolutely perfect and our server was very attentive and made us feel welcomed. There’s no way that it could have been better hats off to the crew at Silver Diner in Columbia Great Job!!!!PS I wish I could give Them ten stars.
We usually sit at the bar, Kesha is always helpful. Food arrives quick and hot.
Service was excellent (thanks Alie), going above and beyond to ensure that our vegan orders were just that. Lots of vegan options on the menu that are really tasty, plus quite a few that can be made vegan easily with substitutions or omissions. This is a brand new location so it is really clean, but that had been my experience throughout this locally owned and managed chain. They could used another option or two for a vegan dessert though 😉!
The service is really good and I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. My first visit I had huevos rancheros and it was amazing! Definitely recommended. Todays visit was just decent. The double stack breakfast burger was serviceable enough, the fries were kind of only okay.I think trying the more adventurous dishes on the menu would be the best bet here.
Very nice!!! Had a server named jamaal (some young kid) and we gave him a sizable tip........
Always delicious. Service and food consistently great. Covid protocols in place.
The burgers were good. Fish tacos were stinking a bit too much. The service wasnt great either. We waited 1.5 hours for our outdoor dining order to be fulfilled and that too was partial. The people who complained a lot got free food. We didnt put up so much fuzz so we just got slow service. Sadly our first dine out during pandemic turned out to be pathetic
Great service, quick food, just stopped in before another commitment with a friend, the menu is huge so takes a while to find what you want :) massive selection of meat alternatives too.
This place has really surpassed all of the things I already thought were amazing about Silver Diner. The wait staff was very pleasant and well-trained, from what I can tell by sitting right next to the hostess station during our last visit. They asked the same questions to every guest and while it was annoying to listen to, it definitely shows there is a commitment to Quality customer service and making you feel welcome when you enter. The food was fantastic and I havent had anything at this location I didnt like.
First let me say how great the staff was, I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a friendly smile and hello. The server was nice and sweet and made sure I had what I needed and was fine with me chatting with her. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Great place
The staff were all courteous and helpful. The food wasnt bad I especially liked the organic bison burger and while I really did appreciate the availability of organic options the menu was a bit bougie and overly expensive for a diner. I honestly was disappointed that many of the classic menu items I used to get at the one in Laurel are now gone like sliders and some of the appetizers.
The first time we were there, we waited a while for our food...but last night, the speed for our food was very fast...the waitress was very nice and the customer service was very wonderful.
Great service, delicious food, and a cozy vibe. Their chef and team have prepared a really cool take on the traditional American diner. They offer a wide selection of vegan options and everything is farm to table. We went for breakfast and are excited to go again for dinner.
The food was amazing, fresh, and very filling. Everyone I came in contact with, from the seater to the people who brought our food out to us were extremely friendly and patient, and I loved that you could see the management walking around and working just as hard as everyone else. And when I spoke to the manager to compliment their efforts, he was so grateful and kept thanking us over and over. Our waitress Erykah was so sweet and her happy and friendly disposition had spread onto me. She was very attentive to all of her tables, and was such a joy to be around. Truly one of my best experiences and made this my go to diner.
Or for a work lunch with a vendor. We both had the Turkey Club. It was a nice portion size and a good sandwich. The wait staff was friendly and efficient.
Very good food. Good service to.(Get the turkey platter really good)
We have tried many items on the menu...all have been delightfully naughty!! The churro waffle dessert is amazing!! .., note the clean plate.. it took 3 of us to finish the entire dessert!!I was in the mood for a good steak, and I tried theirs.. I am not usually a fan of a flat iron steak, however this one, note the clean plate... delivered..it was full flavor, tender, and cooked perfectly and served with a few great items! We have also tried the burgers! Wow!! Yum.. my child is really picky and usually does not like burgers...this one she LOVES!! (The bbq sauce is amazing, ask for extra on the side!, your taste buds will thank me.. and its great to dip your fries in!!) The fried fish is good flakey and fresh and light. We are not drinkers, and we absolutely loved the variety of non alcoholic drinks, I think this one was ginger ale with mint or something.. the other was a fruity lemonade I cant remember.. but both were so good!! Our friend had a mixed drink.. he said it was very strong, and very delicious, note their drinks are expensive, but he said it was very enjoyable! We cant wait to go back!I think the bbq burger with bacon, cheddar, and fried onions is my new favorite way to tank my diet😁
Nice place. Delicious dinner. Excellent service, what else. If you are by here come in and enjoy.
We enjoyed our anniversary breakfast at Silver Diner. Its always a nice a simple way to eat out. Service was friendly.
The best customer service and drinks! Pleasantly surprised. Please try the Tropical Mimosa! It’s my favorite. The bartender is really nice and patient.
We have been going to the Silver Diner in Rockville for years, and this was our first visit to the Columbia location. We are very familiar with the menu which provides many healthy and fresh eating options. Dont expect the standard diner fare at this restaurant. Service was very good with our waiter checking back with us several times to make sure everything was okay at our table. I was disappointed that there were only 4 handicap parking spots at the restaurant given how crowded the parking lot can be at times; however, this number of spots is consistent with other restaurants in the immediate area. One Silver Diner practice I wish would would be in place at this location is for the managers to check on how things are going at each table. We liked this practice over the years at the Rockville location; however, the two managers on duty during our visit were too busy with other activities to check on the tables in our area. Both of them walked by our table a few times but never turned toward us to check on how things were going. Overall, we love the Silver Diner and are glad that we finally have one in Columbia.
Food was tremendous and serving size was very generous plus price and service great. A definite must if you have never been.
Nice milkshakes! Avocado toast was just okay. Need to use something more substantial than white bread
Fresh and delicious salad and tacos. Very clean, excellent service. Keep up the good service. Thanks Darian.
Love that they have vegan options. Service was good. Food was just ok.
Good place to have lunch here.Enjoyed local restaurant with great staff.
Meatloaf was great!! Love the gravy.. Definitely gonna have to go and sit down at this place..
Dog friendly, self service seating kinda difficult, delicious food, friendly service. Casual dress and scenery, fair prices.
Food was good, waiting for our food after ordering was lengthy (30+ min). Wait staff was excellent
Stumbled across a Silver Diner on a visit to Tysons Corner a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. Imagine my surprise when I found one just minutes away from my job in Columbia. Ive been 3 or 4 times in the past month! LOVE IT!
I dont expect take-out food to be at the same quality as dining in and I appreciated the ability to order online instead of having to call. That said my order didnt live up to how the food on the website looked.Smith cake was delicious and seemed pretty fresh. My friend said her turkey burger was good but basic (happily we were eating at her house, since they oddly didnt offer mustard as a condiment. She just got some from her own fridge.)I was not happy with my salmon sliders. It was supposed to come with a tropical salad and I was given fries instead without being offered an alternative. I wasnt necessarily upset from missing out on the salad but I definitely would have chosen a different side if given the option. The salmon itself wasnt dry which is always a fear ordering it from a casual dining restaurant. That was, however the best thing I can say about it. The menu described the sliders as having a teriyaki glaze, pickled ginger, and wasabi sour cream on sweet potato buns. The buns just seemed normal, there was a very small bit of ginger on one slider and a slightly larger slice on the second. No teriyaki or wasabi in sight. If the website hadnt had such glowing descriptions and beautiful pictures the whole order would have been fine. Based on the expectations the menu set (and the cost of the meal) I was quite disappointed. If I return to eating in at restaurants I might go back, but I dont feel inclined to give them another chance for takeout.
This is my second time ordering from here. The first time was through Doordash, the food was mediocre at best. Today, the food was just horrible. The poached eggs were overcooked, the corned beef hash was burned, the only good thing were the potatoes. I just cant!. I will stick with doublet diner.
It wasnt a diner... It was finer 😉
