Looking for an indoor activity for a rainy day on our vacation we came across the chocolatorium. We signed up for the chocolate tasting and make your own chocolate bar. The staff was very friendly and they obviously love what they do. The video was really informative and the chocolate was delicious. Afterwards we did a little shopping and were happy with the selection that they offered.
This place is AMAZING. Try the chocolate malt balls and their maple syrup. The shop worker was older gentleman and he was very helpful. I hope I get to visit again. Also right opposite a nice creek.
Great chocolate, handmade by the owners! A true family business.
Fun small family-owned chocolate shop. Go make your own chocolate bar with all the Fixings! the kids loved they can make their own chocolate bar. It was very interactive as the chocolater helped the kids make your own chocolate bar. Great variety of chocolates to choose from. Also wonderful maple syrup or other fun novelty jellies and jams to taste. Stop by if youre in the area its worth a trip!!
Loved the presentation and making the candy bar. Staff was very helpful.
A nice variety of chocolate. We had a good time the family and I doing the chocolate tasting and making a candy bar.Would do it again.
Inexpensive, fun little detour if you are passing through. You get to make your own candy bar, and taste test chocolate.Plus the store has just about every kind of candy.
Fantastic chocolate store that makes a huge assortment of chocolates, fudge and candies. Also sells local maple syrup and consigned gifts as well as kids toys and tourist trinkets. Also-- make your own chocolates! Mini chocolate museum that allows you to create your own chocolate bar with various candy additions. My whole family made delicious big bars. The last great store in the ol Candle Mill Village of the 80s when I lived there. If you visit the Arlington area, you must stop in!
Good selection and nice guy running the place! Bears and more bears!
I stopped with my 3 & 5 year olds em route from Burlington to Berkshires. We reserved the chocolate bar making experience which is a screaming deal. Judy was so patient with my very excited kiddos who had been in the car for almost 3 hours, at that point. Recommend to anyone in the area.
Terrified of covid even if you have been fully vaccinated. Should stay shut if the owner is that terrified ! According to the governors mandate fully vaccinated individuals dont have have to wear masks indoors. For the owners safety I will take my business elsewhere !
We took our chocolate loving son here for a 6th birthday treat. We had such a great visit. The selection is amazing and unique. The chocolate is devine and the service is amazing. We visit chocolate shops in every small town we visit. The Chocolatourium is our new favorite. We didntt get to take the tour because of COVID but we will be sure to go back once we can exprience that. And to buy more chocolate. Make sure to try the Olive Oil Chocolate Bars.
Great place. We made chocolate bars, bought candy made there. Staff is excellent friendly and courteous
If you like candy, especially chocolate, then this is definitely a place you want to stop at. The fudge we got was very good. So many different kinds of chocolate candies makes it hard to decide which ones to get.
Friendly service. Very good with their Covid prevention protocols. Last time we were at this store was 17 years ago. There were more shops in the area then. We will be back.
What a wonderful little experience this was. Normally you go into a chocolate shop to buy chocolate, obviously...but this shop was different! There is a little chocolate shop in the forefront but then it goes into the back which turns into a chocolate museum wonderland. There is a whole room with the walls covered in in chocolate history and seating for a short educational movie. After exploring the history and chocolate museum, I took part in a chocolate tasting and making my own chocolate bar with toasted coconut and pecans. The chocolate tasting was awesome, I loved learning about properly tasting chocolates and being able to make my own bar. I left there happy and with a bunch of goodies for my love and I. I will be back with a friend so they could try it next time too!
Okay. So much was happening . I researched local things to do for our trip to VT. And this was like Highly suggested. Im not sure why . I do from NY Where everything is big large and busy. So please take that into account. It did seem small and like any other local candy shop but also reading the owners response, I was super unfair in my first review this is their pride and joy this is their beautiful state and they offer local tasty candyI am adding more stores because the staff absolutely made it better by their response. They are right the state is amazing its beautiful kind and enjoyable
We miss visiting the waterfall across the street now that public access is blocked off, but lots of goodies here.
Worth a visit. The store is very big with pretty much any kind of chocolate candy you can imagine, plus jams, jellies and maple sugar candies. There is a separate room where you can view a film about the history and making of chocolate. Another room hold classes in chocolate making where kids can make their own chocolate bars. Best if all, there are several huge chocolate pieces, including Cocoa the Bear, to drool over.
Cute little shop. Great fudge! Worth a visit!
Cute little store. The employee was very friendly enjoy the store very much
Cute little store, tucked away in a nice small town with a nice selection of candy and goods
Best chocolate in Vermont.
Great selection of chocolate, fudge and candy. Lost of stuffed bears, too.
They have a lot of items for sale. Very good display of fine chocolates
Really fantastic chocolate here. They have a huge variety of fresh chocolates, creams, truffles, patties and so on. They also have many other sweets that are not chocolate (and some sugar free options). They also carry some food stuff like soup mixes and the alike. The employee on duty was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the difference chocolate, really nice guy. Prices are very reasonable as well! They also do some activities such as make your own chocolate bar, chocolate tasting and the alike. If you like chocolate and sweets, or know someone who does, who should really stop by!
Stopped by to make a chocolate bar...long drive into east Arlington. They said we could not as they were helping others who were with a group. Web site said come on over...not by appointment only. So I have to say this was a bit of a shock. Telling a 3 year old that he was not welcome. The place is cute however and the interior is like being in a wood shed with lots of off gasing particle board.
I cant give a good rating bc I didnt get a chance to go inside bc they wouldnt let me in without a mask... Even after telling them of my medical reason for not having one. And we were the only patrons in the shop. I would have loved to browse the shop but maybe next year when this COVID stuff settlea down.
Wonderful chocolates, all hand made. Great owner who was happy to answer questions. If youre in the Manchester/Arlington area be sure to hunt this place out! Its a little off route 7a, but well worth it. Theres also a cute covered bridge not far up the road.
We had so much fun! it was an incredibly warm, friendly, and delicious experience. the staff was inviting, the prices and variety were fantastic and it was even educational. definitely making a stop at this delightful shop a family tradition.
If you are ever in the Arlington area be certain to visit, fantastic chocolate candy shop tucked away up the road. The chocolate aroma is amazing, candy is delicious and they have a chocolate making demonstration and make your own chocolate class. Shop is family owned and run and the staff is super friendly. My husband and I never leave without a purchase and also bring some home for family and friends. Try their butternut crunch comes in many chocolate covered flavors, mine is the Maple.
Delicious
It was a day trip. Chocolate and my wife and daughter go together very well, so it was decided we would check out The Chocolatorium. It was straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting: the place, the surrounding area, the people running the store, the vibe, the interaction of the husband and wife (the owners).....It was so nostalgic, fun and enjoyable! Nick, the owner, provided the presentation about chocolate (history, the process, the story, the tasting) and he was just the sweetest, most sincere person; genuinely stimulated, happy and excited when talking about one of the loves of his life....CHOCOLATE! He made a lasting impression on my 16 year old daughter; on the way home, she would regularly exclaim about Nick, hes so nice!. In todays world, for a 16 year old to be moved by the simplicity and true substance of what we experienced, is a real accomplishment. However, my daughter is special and appreciates the finer things in life. Please, make a point to check it out. The good feeling induced will linger for quite some time. Then, when you want the good feeling to end abruptly, walk into a Walmart store. Are you with me? Keep the independent family run businesses alive!
Great chocolate and sweets. We loved making our own candy bars😊
Great place for chocolate and local products. A family owned business. Very friendly staff and environment.
Such a fun activity for our kids! We all loved it and the chocolate was delicious!
What a wonderful experience, Judy- the owner, is a hot ticket. All the chocolate delights imaginable. We made our own chocolate bars and decorated the boxes to out them in. I highly recommend trying a sin bar😋 Theres also a store in Bennington Vermont on Main St if you just want to indulge on chocolate or try their homemade gelato.
Very nice place to visit. Enjoyed making our own chocolate bar and watching the video on how chocolate was created.
Awesome store! A must go candy is amazing and service was excellent!
I brought four kids (aged 8-10) here to make chocolate bars and they absolutely loved it! The man was very kind and patient with my crew and even addressed the kids by name. We happily spent almost an hour and a half at the Village Peddler. Very affordable and well worth the drive!
Great little place for handmade chocolate of all kinds. Gifts to buy other than chocolate themed items. Stop by and say hello to Cocoa
We stopped in this place and was pleasantly surprised. We bought a few jams and I found my favorite chocolate here. Too bad I didnt buy more
Very friendly. Nice chocolate candy store
Such tasty treats. You have to try the death by chocolate and sin cakes. Oh my
When we got there it was already closed but luckily for us, one of the employees, the daughter of the owner, had come back to have dinner with her sister who lives above the shop. She reopened the shop just for us! If it was anyone else, they probably wouldnt have done that. The chocolate was amazing as well as, obviously, the customer service.
Our stop every time we are in the area love to people running the store
Great chocolate
Friendly people.
I just had their Death by Chocolate Gelato and it killed me.Completely worth the trip from Dallas. So many wonderful chocolates, an wonderful shop owners too.
Fun place to shop, try chocolate flights and make your own candy bar.
This place was great. Awesome chocolate and goodies, even more awesome people! Definitely worth the stop!
Great selection
This chocolate shop caters to all chocolate cravings, including those of diabetics and nut allergy sufferers. The owners and employees treat you like family too.
Loved this place. Great fudge (peanut butter sandwich), very creamy.
Fun little spot for tourists in the area. Good fudge and chocolate. Didnt stay for the movie or the tour.
Amazing chocolate and the staff is hilarious. I would definitely recommend stopping if you want a good time and some good chocolate!
This place was amazing ! We made our own chocolate bars as well as saw many chocolates from around the world! Defently recomend a stop here!!
Great little mom and pop store with an amazing assortment
It was cute. It is also attached to the Chocolateatorium. That was excellent.
Cozy little chocolate shop with friendly staff, an informative exhibit on the history of chocolate, and tasty treats to match!
The store in Bennington has more selection.
Always end up with more than I planned to get and never regret it
Very nice chocolateer in the center of East Arlington, VT
Chocolate tasting was fun and informative. They have lots of treats-- a little pricy but tasty!
Always a friendly and fun stop!
Problem I was driving through on Easter Sunday and shops were closed. Return trip is in order!!
Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Always fun great chocolate
Great service, friendly people.
Fabulous chocolatier.
Let me tell you about the Chocolatorium. There is a large bear outside (stuffed). Its wearing a funny shirt. We were skeptical about chocolate, about its medicinal potential, about its cavity induciveness, but these fears were laid to rest at the end of the 15 minute chocumentary (must see).
Smell great inside
The fudge was amazing!!
Great fudge.
Best chocolate place in VT!!!
Fun for everyone
Made and bought chocolate.
Amazing chocolate and friendly service
