To All Our Friends at ACYWhile Nancy and I have sent previous notes recognizing the great support weve received from ACY, we just wanted to send you another quick update recognizing a few “outstanding performers” associated with ACY that have also helped us during our first year with Harbour Lights, our 2019 Lucia 40.Cruise Abaco, owners Mark and Patti Gonsalves & their entire team: In our opinion, Cruise Abaco is a real “gem” in the bareboat charter industry. Harbour Lights just completed eight months of chartering with Cruise Abaco and, as owners, we couldn’t be more pleased with the number of charters booked, or the condition of the boat. We had one period where the boat was in charter nine weeks straight with only a day or two between charters, and Mark’s team had her “ready-to-go” each time. Additionally, when we arrived at Cruise Abaco late afternoon with Captain Lewis to inspect the boat for our 800 mile trip north to Annapolis, she had all the fluids changed, a clean bottom, and rigging ready for an off-shore passage. We arrived at 3:30 PM Monday, and after a thorough inspection of the boat and all the systems, left for Annapolis the next morning, Tuesday, at 8:30 AM. Captain Lewis said it was his first trip this year where the boat didnt need additional maintenance before departure.I also want to mention that Harbour Lights arrived in Annapolis, after sailing 850+ miles Code 1, which is an aviation term we used in the Air Force to indicate no maintenance discrepancies. Captain Lewis, Nancy, and I didnt have a single “write-up” other than changing the oil and filters. Nancy and I are looking forward to returning Harbour Lights to Cruise Abaco and the Bahamas this fall after the Boat Show.On Watch Yacht Delivery, Captain Jeff Lewis: When Nancy and I asked for ACYs recommendation for a delivery captain to help us move Harbour Lights from the Bahamas to Annapolis for the summer, Captain Jeff Lewis was at the top of the “list.” After spending nine days aboard with Captain Lewis and traveling 850+ track miles, we could certainly see why he’s your “go-to” delivery Captain. He has decades of off-shore experience, outstanding sailing skills, exceptional instructional abilities, and almost as important during an off-shore passage, he’s a real gentleman and a pleasure to have on board. Thanks again for making the introduction.Cruise Annapolis Team; Susan, Mickey, Mike, & Amanda: Although we’ve just arrived and entered the Cruise Annapolis fleet for the summer, Nancy and I wanted to recognize and thank Susan Restauri and her team for the warm welcome. Although we arrived late and after hours during the 4th of July holiday, Susan and Mickey Lalor kept in contact with us as we made our way up the Chesapeake and ensured our slip was ready when we arrived. The whole team also pitched in and ensured Harbour Lights was cleaned and set up for her first charter with Cruise Annapolis less than a week after arrival. The whole team has been very friendly and responsive and we wanted to let them know we appreciate it.Well...this turned out a bit longer than expected. However, Nancy and I wanted to let all of our ACY friends know that, from a new owner’s perspective, these independent businesses, that we associate with ACY, have really come through for us and our new “Boat as a Business” adventure. I told my wife we were lucky to have had Valerie answer the phone. She was spot on, accurate, great communicator through the whole process. Never did she drop out of the picture. I am sure all the staff is as professional, but i will stand by my opening comment - we were to have found Valarie.
