If you need meds in a timely manner, opt for a big chain, especially if its for under 30-day supplies. We also had issues with RXs translating oddly to this pharmacy, where a 15 day supply of Zofran kept coming up as 10, so instead of getting 15 pills like we were supposed to, we got shorted 5 pills and would be given 10. Note, insurance doesnt like non-cancer patients having more than 1 pill a day, despite a doctor being able to write the RX as as needed. So, theres a little blame on everyones plate I think.Additionally, their supply seems a little thin, so there are times when we would put in an order and would have to wait a few days for a very important refills. This happens everywhere but felt like it happened more so here.We switched to a big chain again, and not only are we getting full supplies of meds, but the addition of text-based notifications, free deliveries and open weekend availability and extended weekday hours makes the big chains much more desirable than a local business unfortunately.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Also, this is the best place to go in Ann Arbor for anyone looking to spend less than $20 on a great bottle of wine. The man (Hugo?) who buys the wines is very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. They sell surplus wines at a discount and often have great deals. The selection is smaller than a typical grocery store, but I’ve loved every bottle I’ve purchased here. You won’t see these wines in most of the grocery stores in the area, and definitely not at these prices!
Pharmacy is very nice, staffed with knowledgeable and friendly people. The real draw, however, is in the back of the store, where it be known by those in the know for their wines, either in stock or to be sourced by order. Hugo, the wine buyer for many years, obtains very good wines at reasonable prices. He knows his trade, particularly for French, Spanish and Portuguese varieties. Now and then a gem is available for a great price, if you know what to look for. Its fun just looking for it.
The staff at Hometown Pharmacy are very nice and willing to answer all my questions. I never feel like Im just a number like I use to a the big chain pharmacies. The service is quick which makes my life a lot easier.
I’ve shopped in this location since it was Wenks pharmacy. I prefer to support a smaller local store where I recognize the staff, can pick up an assortment of other necessities and get delivery if I can’t make it in to pick up a prescription.
The only complaint I have is your computer system used to keep track of customer prescriptions. When prescriptions are updated or renewed, you need to manually look for the update or the new prescription. The thing that has kept me from going to a different pharmacy is the customer service. You get to know the people and you are not treated like a number. Recently, my husband left his credit card at the pharmacy. The pharmacy called our home to tell him. Another place wouldnt do that.
Everyone at HomeTown, but especially Ross (sp?) have been nothing but helpful, friendly, and accommodating to all my needs. Great staff, great service. Highly recommended!
The staff always greets me when I walk in the door. They are very knowledgeable and sincere in helping my family and the whole community. Thankful for this establishment!
Always a friendly and helpful place to shop! I love the size of this store.
Best pharmacy in town -wish it had longer service hours though
The pharmacist Melissa was so amazing! That is true quality. I will be back!
The pharmacist refused to help me unless I drove 10 miles to them or had my doctor call on my behalf. When I spoke to my doctor they seemed perplexed -- she said they dont make those calls, and that I should have been helped. My medication is on manufacturer backorder everywhere, and I had really hoped that this pharmacy could help, since theyre not part of a big chain, and might have a different supplier. But I was disappointed, and met instead with dismissive and rude service.
Went to get a t-dap vaccination and everyone was very polite and the whole process was friendly and smooth. Definitely recommend them for an independent pharmacy that gives vaccines. Also completely painless process, they also went out of thier way to make us feel comfortable. Also not my thing personally, but they do have one of the largest more reasonable priced wine/liquor selections ivI ever seen in anA Arbor!!!
This is a very friendly place where the employees greet you and ask you if youre in need of help. They have a mom-and-pop feel, lots of nice items, and also good prices.
