Violated is the first word that comes to mind.Tuesday (10/12), service technician KEVIN arrived at my house to fix a broken garage door spring. Im at work, my sister came over to the house to be there so it gets repaired. I have a tidy garage with some high-priced items in it.With that, I have a Nest Indoor camera overseeing the interior of the attached garage that leads directly into my home. My sister calls to state that Kevin is swearing up and down upset at some aspect of the ongoing repair - so I log onto the Nest Camera to find out whats going on. Upon logging on, hes rummaging through nearly every drawer within my two stand-up toolboxes. Im in disbelief at what Im seeing, but cant call him out with my sister at my house (didnt want to put her in a tough spot). I continue monitoring to make sure he doesnt take anything - he merely does the opposite. The tools that he found in my garage to use, he just leaves them laying exactly where he used them at the base of the door. Toolbox still open, golf clubs and other items thrown on the ground, grease sprayed all over each hinge (think softball size diameter of grease sprayed on a golf ball sized hinge). Grease everywhere - two empty cans laying at the base of the garage door to be exact. Called their office about 10 minutes after he leaves to explain what was just witnessed.I spoke with two separate members of their management team - Commercial Door Manager and General Manager (to remain unnamed) - sent photos, and theyve apologized and offered to clean up the grease (unnecessary since its done). Theyve stated that theyve told their service technicians that everybody has cameras nowadays and watch what they do - so, I suppose if you dont have a camera beware - particularly if you get Kevin. While watching the camera he looked way to comfortable going through the garage looking for stuff to use.They (mgmt.) has spoke with Kevin, and the rest of their team. As Im sure with anybodys property - rummaging through your personal belongings, tossing stuff aside without regard, and having the audacity to leave it out for the homeowner (me) to discover - is something that the public needs to know when considering Ann Arbor Door Systems when needing work done at your home.One star earned because the door spring was repaired.

Although it took a while to get our door in that was not Ann Arbor Doors fault. I did find it rather surprising that there was a $75 residential sevice fee as well as the installation charge. I think, if they are going to have these fees, they should be mentioned in the estimate. The work was great and according to schedule. Given the caveat about the additional fees I would use hem again.

We called Ann Arbor Door Systems when our double-garage doors spring broke -- locking two of our cars inside. Kam and Ethan arrived quickly and went to work promptly and efficiently to fix the problem. And we signed up for semi-annual maintenance visits in the future! Well done with kudos to both employees and the company!

Thanks to other google reviews, I found this great service and Id like to pay it forward. Ann Arbor Door systems was a pleasure to work with, they were very communicative, and did quality work at a reasonable price. Jim was friendly and professional and helped get 2 new springs for our garage door, which had to be ordered, but were available the next day. I highly recommend this service and will definitely call again if we need garage door service, thanks for the great work!

I was disappointed by my recent sales visit for a new garage door. I had hired this company last year to replace the automatic garage door opener and they arrived in a timely manner and did the work well. So when my garage door became completely dislocated from its metal hinges, I called this company back to repair it.My three main concerns are that:1st, he said we couldnt repair it and would need to install/buy a new door. That was fine by us and we started discussing price/color etc. Everything was going well until, I asked him when he would be able to come back to install the door. At that point he informed me that due to Covid there were manufacturer delays that would mean that a garage door wouldnt be available for install until at least the end of December (4 months!). I couldnt wait that long and said thank you but I think I will have to try to call a few other companies instead. At which point he started going on and on about how no other companies in the area would have doors either and I shouldnt even bother calling. It seemed odd to me especially because, my garage door is a run-of-the-mill white 16 x 8 door. So, I thanked him again but said I will just call a few places and get back to him. He then started talking about how he would have to charge me a service fee unless I signed with him that day. This was never mentioned to me on the phone when I made the appointment. None of the other 6 companies that I have contacted since to give me a quote, have charged me a service fee for not purchasing through them. I flat out refused to pay him and he left.2nd, all 6 companies that I did contact had my door in stock and all told me they could install next week, with one company saying they could install it the next day.3rd, he wasnt wearing a mask and then asked to come into my home to discuss the garage door.

Service to replace my broken garage door opener was very fast. The workman was efficient in installing the new equipment, and he answered all of my questions. I especially appreciated when he showed me how and where to oil the mechanism. And he did a neat job of cleaning up at the end.

I couldnt open my garage door and called at closing time on Monday, just to see if they could talk me through opening the door so I could make it to my appointments the next morning. The springs had broken so there was no chance of that happening, but they sent someone out first thing the next morning. He was quick, competent, and professional - I was impressed, and very grateful!

Ann Arbor Door has been incredibly nice to work with. Always professional, and Im always impressed that every person they send out seems to strive to do things the right way. Not just get the job done, but take a few extra minutes to make sure every little detail is done right. It also wasnt a hassle to get them adjust the door after some initial break-in. Im accustomed to at the very least, a little bit of attitude on the phone when I call for warranty service, or at the worst a long argument over terms. But they were eager to send someone out the next day, and pleasant the whole time. Very impressed.

We had a tree fall on our garage that did a substantial amount of damage, including the destruction of our large garage door and the opener.We called AA Door and Chris came out right away, told us what he could do, including the removal of the old door and opener. Just picked up a gear and sprocket kit from these fine folks so I could fix my garage door opener. I wanted to buy locally, and I also wanted to fix my door sooner rather than later since opening it by hand was getting old fast. Lol. I had a broken spring and requested quotes from several companies in the area via website forms. I didnt have time to call around, and they were the only company to email a quote with several time slots to choose from for service the next day. The guy showed up on time and replaced the spring. I asked if I should replace the opener too, and he said its old but still working fine. He could have tried to sell me a new one but was honest about it.

They came out when they said they were going to. They were kind and explained everything well. I will work with them again if the need comes to pass.

Choosing AA Door Systems based on their online reputation and not on price immediately paid off.Our garage door was already deteriorating when we rented it a year ago. Agreeing the door was a safety risk, our landlord permitted us to acquire five local company quotes on the basis we would deduct the installation cost from the next months rent. Though this company’s quote wasnt the lowest of the five, their online reputation via ratings sites (including this one) simplified our decision. They were also the most thorough with respect to ensuring our awareness of precisely what decisions we needed to make and what they were promising prior to moving forward. For example, no other company took the time during their quote visit / inspection to review color choices to ensure a color match assuming we decided on their company.Their quote including replacement of everything (including the track system) except the opener system (because it was still in good shape). But at the end of the installation, a clear problem arose: a gap large enough for rodents, etc. to pass through on the right-hand side of the door bottom that wasnt there with our previous door. A mild concrete slope didn’t get noticed until after the work was complete.The inspector who provided the original quote visited a couple of days later and offered on the spot to install a retrofitting door seal himself at no charge. We gratefully accepted and and hour or so later could not be more pleased with the result. He pointed out that such a gap would typically have been noticed prior to an original quote where the door seal solution would have likely been an additional cost. But because he did not notice that potential gap problem upon the initial quote inspection (most likely because the old door had simply settled into place because it was broken, thus sealing the gap on its own), he accepted that responsibility without question.The bottom line: expertise, thoroughly informs their customers, and stands behind their work. In my opinion, this company certainly earned the slightly higher price we paid by choosing them.

I am very pleased with Ann Arbor Door Systems. My spring broke and my old door was disintegrating. They fixed the spring with a clamp. They offered me a new door with no charge for fixing the spring. They also fixed the lights on my opener which were no longer working. A small thing that is greatly appreciated. The gentleman who installed the new door was both polite and professional. The door is snug so it will not let cold air in during the winter and it looks great. I couldn’t be happier with Ann Arbor Door Systems and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Great customer service...called company and ask if it was possible to get a replacement garage door opener for a purchase made in 2014. Invoice was located by providing name and address. New opener was mailed to my home with instructions for programming. Very professional and courteous service.

I had problems with the light beam safety system. Called late afternoon, AADoor arrived next morning and made repairs with new brackets---and in addition tightened down a bunch of lag screws in the lateral door hinges. Total bill $95 which I considered very fair for the trip and an hours work.

Chris Yoder, the sales manager couldnt have been more helpful. He had a few ideas for my project (involving steel cable) and pretty much figured it out and did the work for me.Call Ann Arbor Door Systems for your garage door needs. They clearly care about meeting their customers expectations, in my case with something that wasnt even a garage door. Five stars!

I had the best experience with this company! My garage door spring broke. I called at 8am (very thankful they were open this early!), was given a window of 12-4, and they were at my house at 12:30. He advised me to replace the spring with two springs for only $40 more (sounds good to me!) Within 20 minutes, he had the spring fixed, the whole thing lubricated properly, and two other settings on my machine adjusted that I didnt know how to fix. Before the spring broke, my garage door was sort of jerky and loud, and after this fix, it is smooth and much quieter! He really did more than he had to do, and it is SO appreciated!

A driver in an Ann Arbor door truck waited until the last minute to get in the proper lane for his exit. He ended up having to drive on the shoulder, where construction workers were present, because of his inconvenient act. Everyone had to slam on their brakes. I hope he got to his job on time. He put the rest of us at risk. Dangerous. Rude. Unprofessional.
