Very slow service for pharmacy. I pick up every month and every time its a 30 min wait in the drive-thru.
Excellent customer service. Love the 24/7 assistance! I called in regards to questions about medication side effects. I got immediate help and guidance. Wonderful, helpful staff working here!
I’ve been waiting on my “rapid” covid test for 24 hours and still nothing. i’m extremely upset because we’ve contacted everyone we were supposed to contact if we didn’t have results in 24 hours and still nothing.
I would recommend going anywhere else. They are constantly under-staffed at this location. The wait times are consistently long. At least half of the times my family goes there it takes at least 10 minutes to talk to anyone. Tonight it took 10 minutes to be told that my son’s prescription wasn’t ready and there wasn’t even a line. They said it would be 30 minutes, so I ran some errands and came back 45 minutes later. One car in front of me and still a ten minute wait to be told it still wasn’t ready. So I just say I’ll wait for it here, 15 minutes later they come back to the window to tell me that they can’t fill that prescription at that strength and they need to call the Dr. to change it. No explanation as to why they couldn’t have told me that an hour ago. Unfortunately, this is not the first, second, or third time this had happened. I pretty much expected them to not be ready when I came back. 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff is consistently nice while wasting your time.
Was really great my first time in that area, the location is perfect with a lot of great shopping places all around the area.
The store itself seemed okay. Product selection was fine, and they had the specific product I was looking for in the store (I verified online first). The clerk, however, was awful. It was difficult to understand what she was saying because she mostly grunted it. I was scolded for hitting the No button on the keypad - twice. The user interface with the credit card swiper is poor. I did not know that would have ended the transaction the first time I hit it. The second time I hit it, I only had the one item, so I figured it didnt matter, but I was given a death glare because I hit it and told I was doing it wrong. The clerk was half asleep throughout the process as well, and clearly showed no signs of being remotely interested in doing her job, let alone making it a pleasant transaction between us. I chose to drop in here rather than wait for Walmart to open, but clearly that was a mistake. I dont anticipate coming back to this location, and likely will think twice about stopping at other locations in the future, due to the interaction with the clerk. Poor experience that barely deserves the 2 star rating I gave it, and thats only because I feel that 1 star ratings are not as believable as 2 star ratings. Timestamp on receipt shows 8/8/2020 6:23 AMIve edited to add that after reading some of the other reviews, I wanted to note that this was not a pharmacy purchase, but a purchase of general merchandise off the shelf. I was the only customer in the store when I stopped in, and the speed of service itself was not bad.
Jenni the cashier was very friendly and helpful.
Generally love stopping here and is my ‘go to’ when I need to grab something quick. Ridiculous lines lately with one person checking and numerous employees in the store. Definite improvement needed in customer service!!
One of the worst experiences of my life! Pharmacy help was extremely unhelpful! I was interrupted at least 10 times while I was trying to speak. I had to go back twice even though we called ahead. Even after two visits I still didnt get the prescription that my elderly mother needed, she is unable to go on her own. I called the assistant manager will see how far it goes. Ive complained before it does no good this is why I never fill a prescription at a Walgreens. Im on medication and every time I went there for my own prescriptions they always had a problem. I started going to their competition HyVee and CVS and there hasnt been one problem in over 10 years now. This company shouldnt be even in the pharmaceutical business they were screwing my insurance company for $600 a month. Ive been filling it at Hyvee for several years now for $4 a month without insurance.
On the plus side they have 24 hour pharmacy. But they are incredibly slow. CVS is not this slow.
This store is great. They have had everything I have needed when I walk through the door. The pharmacy has alot of customers because they price fairly given insurance companies poor coverage. If the front gets busy they call and get back up. If you think this store is slow, go to the post office....
Came in to just buy something quick. Really friendly employees, Earl is great, 80 years old and still as helpful as ever. Highly recommend this location.
I have all my prescriptions filled at this Walgreens. Im sure they get busy sometimes but never that big of a deal. I feel they are very accommodating and friendly. They have a code for when the registers get busy so more people come to ring you up. I feel they do a good job reacting to ebb and flow of the amount of customers needing assistance. Im still a regular ...
Love the people, can guarantee you’ll always get a great pharmacist but if you want a great one his Name is Chris he’s an awesome guy and always recommend calling him or going in when he’s there 😊
Im not rating one star because I had to wait awhile. Its inevitable if youre going to a post office or pharmacy, chances are, youll wait a bit. Im rating low due to the lack of organization and customer service of the pharmacy. I came into the store to refill in person rather than refill online like I normally do because my insurance changed January 1, so I knew they would have to re-run it if I filled it online. Got my insurance switched over at the drop-off no problem, and asked how long it would take to fill- because if it was going to take awhile, I would return the next day as I had someone in the car waiting for me. I was told 10 minutes. Great. The line was quite long per usual, so I went to the back of the line thinking 10 minutes would be up by the time I got the front. About 8 minutes passed when I got the front and it was not ready. No problem. They told me to have a seat and they would call my name when it was ready. Name was never called. 10 minutes later... 20 minutes later... 30 minutes later.... close to 40 minutes. They simply continually helped the ever steady line. Others were in the same boat as me- their names never called either. Was I supposed to keep getting in the back of the line? Would they have ever called my name if I didnt become vocal after 40 minutes? Plus, had they just told me from the beginning were a little busy, it will be at least 30 minutes I would have left and returned the following day. The kicker of it was- five minutes after I initiated the refill, I received an e-mail from Walgreens on my phone that my prescription was ready to be picked up. It was a solid 30 minutes after that e-mail that it was actually ready for me in person. The whole experience was a huge bummer, as I LOVED the Walgreens pharmacy when I lived in North Liberty. The staff was so friendly and patient. If you were waiting for a refill, a digital board showed your name and the status of your refill- including when it was done and you were not required to go back to the end of the line- they remembered you were waiting longer.
As an HR professional, I am in disbelief of the lack of soft skills. Horrible experience picking up a prescription for my child.
I was in formed of a change that was made by management this morning that I feel is important to everyone that falls in this category and should know whats happening.Oh its not that your wait is being reduced or the pharmacy has brought more people in so you dont have to wait 30mins for any type of prescription in there drive through or if you go in at peak hours, no that would be a praised change, and would most likely make us happy. No this is just a way for them to dictate there own beliefs on us and not uphold the tradition of the pharmacy.I purposely go in to during off peak hours because its easy for the type of work I do, but because Im avoiding a mess that they have not done nothing to change, and because I dont feel its necessary to be frustrated because of the wait times they do nothing about. If this change is made, they the need taket 24-7 off there building website and any other form of advertising, since they no longer providing that service for ever patron. These people have made a change on their own. This isnt a federal change, this isnt a corporate change either. This is a few people making decisions on there own and not providing a service that they advertise, and every patron has utilized at one point or another. There is a reason for 24hour pharmacies and if your not providing that service to every patron its false advertising and your not treating every patron equally. Also there just changing it, no warning. These store managers need to be corrected, they need to understand they are making up rules based off there own accord.I will take this as high as it needs to go to let them know there wrong for doing this. It was explained that the other 24 hour pharmacy is doing it so were gonna do it to.That is just like that old saying if everyone jumped off the cliff will you do it to?Seems like this manager is ready to take the plunge.Thats the mantality that was explained when the pharmacist said to me that if your picking up a certain type of prescription, specifically controlled substances this is how it is.Now, in detail if your picking up this type of prescription a few days early, you are now only allowed to pick it up two days in advance not the three that the insurance and federal government allows for and if your between the hours of 12am-8am you have to wait till 8am to pick it up.There more than happy to over fill, and refill ever other type of prescriptions. That is not 24-7 service as advertised. This is not treating patrons equally.I travel for work and this policy will effect me and others just like me.I hope that the other patrons just like me will speak up and reject this type of dictatorship and will not stand for it.
*pharmacy* I don’t care how busy you are. You don’t treat people disrespectfully when they’re sick. My husband had a 104 temp and was called in medications and they were extremely behind and that was made CLEAR by how they were speaking to me. I couldn’t even get a word in without being interrupted. The call ended when I was hung up on. I avoid Walgreens at all costs, but unfortunately they are the only place open 24 hours. Usually we go to CVS where they are actually respectful.
Friendly pharmacy staff but they need some backup, the wait can be crazy. Staff seems super nice.
The only thing I can say positive about this location is that the pharmacy is open 24 hours other than that I will not got back here again due to the lack of respect and rudeness of the pharmacy workers. They outright disrespected me and told me I was wrong after all I did was ask a question. Im sorry but its your job to answer my questions. Management needs to hire a better staff that has higher customer service skills
Crappy review. Just went to this location, to buy some medicine and some lady has over 30 bottles of the medicine with that she cleaned the self off of the medicine I needed. I complaint to the person on shift and the big black lady that was working at 12am today. The big black lady said if I didnt like it she was going to call the cops on me and I said forget it. She tried to egg me on while I was walking out the store.
Called on the phone to ask how late they were open and reached an automated response saying Welcome to your 24 hour Walgreens! so I drove down, they closed at 9pm. Obviously they dont care about their customers who have late night emergencies. The good news is that Walmart across the street is open 24 hours. I went there and will continue to do so. Good bye Walgreens!
Just left a review on the Walgreens in Johnston yesterday. Tonight, I gave it one last chance and it was a single cashier checking people out in the photo booth area with about 10 people stuck in line. Lady up front had to be trying to figure out what was going on with her “points” so once again I’m standing in line with 10 other people wondering where the hell all of the other cashiers are. As I’m leaving the store the two other employees are walking inside from doing god knows what outside while people are inside waiting patiently to be checked out. This is the last time I will be shopping at Walgreens. Overpriced and extremely slow. There wasn’t a single cashier at the front of the store in both lanes. That is pathetic in my opinion, especially when you have a full parking lot. Done with Walgreens for good, I gave you guys a chance and you FAILED.
Drive through here should require people dropping off to drive around or come back in xx minutes so that the line moves faster. Many other drive through pharmacies do this and it works well.
They were busy, still friendly and helped me quickly. Pharmacy open 24hrs is great for a workin man with a busy family and life. A+
I see some of the one star ratings and comments on poor customer service skills. Ive never had a problem with that, the staff has always been incredibly nice to me and, for the most part, quick. Sure, there are times that they get slammed and there tends to be a line, but you need to remember that Ankeny isnt just a town, but rather a town, not with only a majorly growing population, but it is also an interstate town: anytime events happen in the surrounding cities, everyone ends up going through Ankeny, this town will always be a much busier town than what is wrought by the locals; moreover, Ive honestly found that when I go un there, I feel like more than just some customer, I feel like it is a community cornerstone, I xome in, if theyre not busy, well sit there and talk while they work. It is one of the best stores Ive visited in town.
Never had an issue with other Walgreens locations but called this one(as I have just recently moved to Ankeny) to see if there was anything to help with my 5 month old who is still up close to midnight in pain from a possible ear infection, pharmacist seemed annoyed that I was calling, and hung up before I could finish saying “that’s okay, thank you” (he had said there was nothing they could give to help)
One staff member old man harassed me for picking up a ball. Dont do business with them
The service has become terrible. The drive thru has become slow and backed up all the time. Just drove off because there are 10 cars in line and not one moved in 15 minutes. Ive been doing business there for 3 years and Im tired of terrible service. Moving my prescriptions elsewhere.
Ok the store was just fine, the check out was the problem. In the checkout I bought a product that required identification. I explicitly told the cashier not to scan my ID (target anyone)... she indicated to me that it was the law. I promptly informed her that she had a right to verify that I was over age but no more. She then proceeded to remove my ID from its housing and scanned it anyway. Infuriating.
Infested with inquiries about the rewards program. Let me buy your products and take my money, quit asking me about joining your rewards program and then a 60 second monologue after I refuse the first time. Happens every time Im in. Other than this issue the location meets my expectations.
Joyce is a sweetheart, she remembers me when I come in
The worst pharmacy in the world! I have had nothing but problems with this place over and over. DO NOT LET THESE IDIOTS HANDLE YOUR MEDS. THEY WILL MESS YOUR STUFF ALL UP>
Ive used this Walgreens for over a decade, and never had a problem. I find the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. There are times it takes awhile to get the prescription filled, when they are swamped, but even the stores general manager rings up the orders then, showing commitment to customer service.Ive always had them call my name when waiting for an order, never forgetting about me, like one reviewer reports.I suggest viewing Googles charted when they are less busy, and go then if you can. All businesses have that pattern of busier times.Im also sure the pharmacy manager will read these reviews and make improvements, perhaps the North Liberty order progress display?Clearly its the people with the bad expieriences coming to leave Google Reviews, a minority for sure of the actual customer throughput.
Could not Same Day photo pickup because according to the employee... Nobody is trained to use the machine
I refill a prescription with the app and even an hour and a half later its not filled. Has happened on several occasions >:[. I have to call my insurance company to fix their screw ups. They are normally very rude and move at a snails pace. Id give it zero stars if I could.
Fast and friendly!
Available in an emergency. Never go anywhere else.
Jerks. Ladies running the register was nice though.
People are nice
The photo department was closed
Very rude pharmacy staff!!!
