Let me preface this by saying I would give zero stars if possible. My fiancé’s car needed a timing chain, and starting acting up in the beginning of December 2020. We dropped the car off at DS Auto repair the middle of December, and were told to expect the car back in around 2-3 weeks. We took into consideration the holidays, pandemic, etc. For about 2 months, we did not hear a word from anyone at DS Auto, and the only communication given was when I called the mechanic myself just to get an estimate of a completion date because my fiancé is so laid back. There was no answer, so I left a voicemail. About a week and a half later, I get a call from the mechanic stating he had health issues and had been busy- no problem for us- we just wanted to know when to expect the car to be done. More time goes by, and my fiancé calls to get another update only to be told by the mechanic that he had not even ordered any parts yet. When the car was *finally* completed, apparently the gates of communication were opened wide because the mechanic was then calling frequently, almost routinely, requesting that we come pick the car up and pay him. My fiancé let the mechanic know that due to prior commitments for his work, we would come get the car on a Friday (as soon as we possibly could), and I guess that wasn’t quick enough for the mechanic as he then threatened to charge us $25 per day for a “storage fee” if we did not come pick the car up (wonder if we should have asked for a $25 per day credit for the amount of time the car sat without moving...the entire repair may have been covered). He went so far as to insinuate that my fiancé was lying about the car being there for three months; as if we have anything to gain by lying about the car being there for that extensive amount of time. He stated that he would “check the cameras” to see when the car was dropped off, to which my fiancé and I would still BOTH reply: we will GLADLY sit and watch them with you. We were less concerned with the unbelievable slack and slowness of the repair than with this man, who knows neither my fiancé or I, insulting our character by calling us liars and stating that he didn’t want to get “screwed” out of money. We were glad to pay the mechanic and no one was trying to “screw” him out of any money – we would have gladly paid him the $1200 for this repair three months ago when we initially dropped the car off. When we went to pick up the car today (3/26/21) there was not so much as an apology for the ridiculous amount of time this repair took, much less his belligerent behavior over the phone; he was the most smug, rude, incompetent repair man I have ever had the misfortune of taking a car to. He couldn’t even give straight answers for work that he supposedly completed on the car. I can’t yet speak on the quality of automotive repair work as we have just gotten the car back today, but if this man’s customer service and overall business etiquette is any indication of his mechanical abilities, I would say we will be needing to put this car in the shop again very soon. The one thing I can say with great confidence is that we will never bring any vehicle here for any kind of work in the future and I highly suggest that if you need any automotive repair work done yourself, you save yourself the hassle and headache and go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
Good service and great work. Check this place out for all your car needs.
Had several vehicles worked on here. Fast and knowledgeable. Took it in once thinking it was one thing ( super expensive) but ended up being something much more simple ( and way cheaper). Hes very honest.
Dewayne had done several repairs for us. He is a wonderful mechanic and an all around good guy! A real blessing to our family!
Dwayne is a wonderful mechanic and a very reputable, honest guy. Had a lot of work done and he did a fantastic job. We had our vehicle looked at by another mechanic who didnt seem to know which way was up then moved here to Dwayne. Definitely recommend him.
Honest and trustworthy mechanic, excellent service.
My entire family brings our vehicles to Dwayne for repair. He seems to have a lot of work, so its best to call and ask, not so much for an appointment, but when he expects to be through with the vehicles ahead of yours. Charges are very reasonable- cash or debit only.He will not complete unnecessary repairs. Infact, he put my Matrix back together and suggested I take it to the dealership because he could not isolate the problem. He had it narrowed to a couple of suspects. However, both were expensive, and he didnt want me to put my money into something that might not solve the problem.
Great on fixing your car.
Super nice, very knowledgeable and reasonable prices!
