The experience here was the best I’ve ever had! We drove from Louisiana to purchase our 2021 Tahoe High Country. Since things have been so crazy with the car market this was the closest dealer that had what we wanted. Tim was our salesman and most everything was done over phone calls and texts so when we arrived it was a very smooth transition, out of the old into the new. Had to come back to this review. I bought this truck brand new about 2 years ago. Also, 3 years ago I bought a Yukon XL. Both of which I had serviced on time and bought the extended service warranty contracts at sale. The GMC Sierra has had over 30+ recalls some which took several days to repair. Starting to look like a 80k lemon. I have been patient up until today. The horn randomly goes off when parked when turned off for 5-10 minutes or while driving. I took it to get serviced for 30k mile check up and to look at horn a week ago. $400 + dollars later the horn is still going off in middle of the night and random times of the day. I call several times to service desk only to have my name and number taken down or sent to a dead end voice mail. I am starting to wonder if I should do business with GMC anymore. Beginning of sale they wanted you to do a review and give the salesman a good review to get him a bonus. Well the original review was for him now he is gone to Toyota. So editing this review to reflect 2 years later . Not happy right now with their lack of service and my neighbors dont like the horn going off randomly at night and through out the day.
First of all I am not to big writing reviews. However, I believe in this situation future customers need to be aware of this dealership and the services they don’t provide. Let me explain. I have a 2018 GMC that I purchased late 18 or earlier 19. I have taken this truck in several times for a popping noise coming from the rear end. The last two attempts to get this issue resolved: 1. I left my vehicle there all day just to be turned away.2. After taking the vehicle back up there on the next attempt. I was told there were some type of bolt out of specification and I was told it was most likely coming for the tires. Seriously, popping noise coming from the tires! first of all there is nothing wrong with the tires outside of a little wear. This vehicle only has 20k miles. I believe my issue is coming from the universal joint on the drive shaft. However this I my opinion. In conclusion the service department is either incompetent or just plan lazy in fulfilling there warranty service agreements. I would highly recommend going to another dealership to purchase and or have your vehicle serviced

This is the first time I brought my leased vehicle in for service. When I signed the lease agreement, I purchased the service package for free oil changes and routine maintenance. One of the main reasons that I chose to purchase the services package was that the salesperson repeated several times that we could bring our vehicle in at any time for a detail but that we might want to schedule an appointment to ensure staff availability. I did schedule a routine service and also asked that the pickup be cleaned while it was there (we left it for several hours). However, when we returned, the outside of the vehicle still had dirt and spots of mud; it clearly had not been washed and the inside was dirtier than when we left it. I was very much looking forward to having the pickup serviced and cleaned before we left on a road trip this weekend and I am extremely disappointed.

The purchase of my GMC Sierra was awesome. The service department however not so much. You can never get anyone in service to answer the phone to set up an appointment. You can go there and there are 6 people at the service desk.

When I purchased the truck, I had supposedly the best warrantee that could be bought that included filter changes and oil changes. When the service guy comes out and says there will be a charge of $174 for a fuel filter. The dealership worked it out, I just dont want this to happen again. If the ultimate warrantee doesnt cover what the person told me it did. I want all the extra money that I have been paying back and I want it taken off the remainder of my billing. The truck cost close to 90k. The coverage was not cheap and should at least cover what they told me it would.

When I come in for my routine tire rotation and oil change I love that you thoroughly check my car with your 21 point inspection and alert me to any maintenance needed. This time my brakes needed servicing and my fluids changed at the 60k mile mark. Since the brakes would take a while the shuttle service kindly dropped me off at the mall for lunch! Then promptly picked me up when my car was ready! I purchased my car at Richard Kay dealership and always go there for servicing as they never disappoint. The hospitality is over the top! My car has its tenth birthday coming up and it still drives as good as new. Thank you Richard Kay Service Department for always making the one hour drive to your dealership worth the trip.

We have a 2020 Cadillac, it’s a beautiful car and is an awesome ride. We have had it a yr and it developed a noise. We took it in and they made a gd effort to find the problem but of course it would not do it when we rode with the tech. We brought it back and by this point we were super frustrated with the car and even were considering trading it.. The car again would not make the noise even with the Service Manager in it, Ken the Service Manager would not give up. We live 30 miles away ken got us a car to take home, he kept the car so he could keep checking it out. After a few days and several test drives Ken the Service Manager found and corrected the noise!!! This kind of Service is going beyond the call!!!! Very much appreciated cause in today’s world very few care enough to make it right.
The dealership doubled charged my credit card and has failed to resolve this. This is essentialy theft. I have callled, sent texts, talked with someone on three different occasions, and showed them the day I purchased.They have promised on all occasions that they would resolved this and still have not. Just lip service. They can not be trusted to do what they say. If i could give no stars I would.
Showed us one car and then tried to convince us to buy it all in the span of a half an hour. He admitted that the car had been on the lot for over 3 months with no interest and it was headed to auction in the morning. Gave us a discount that was laughable considering it was going to auction and they were going to lose money. We went because we purchased our last vehicle there and really liked how we were treated. We will return but this appointment was not one of their finer moments.

I have to say these guys were completely amazing!!! Especially Zack, in the service department!!! I am currently in Anderson SC, traveling for work. While out running errands, the battery died in my SRX. After getting a boost from a very nice couple and having a local retail auto parts store tell me it was a problem with the alternator, I knew I had to find a dealer service department FAST! It was already after 4pm on a Thursday when I pulled into Richard Kay, so I figured my options were slim, since Google said they closed at 6pm. The guys in the service department did everything they could to make sure I would not be stranded, even though they were booked into the next week. They could’ve easily told me they couldn’t help, or I could leave it and they’d get it in the rotation to be checked. BUT, Zack cared that I was 6.5 hours from home and needed some assistance! He communicated and made sure I was comfortable while I waited, and kept it light hearted b/c he knew I was stressing out! Just above and beyond customer service!! I could never thank him enough, the whole team really!! B/c I understand it just added more to someone who probably all ready had a full plate! They had me back on the road by a little after 5:30. Just an amazing blessing!! A big THANK YOU to everyone that took care of my issue!! 🥰🥰Oh, and on a side note….LOTS of great looking vehicles on the lot! If the service department took such great care of me, I’d imagine the salesmen would too. Definitely considering traveling the 6.5 hours for my next trade. 😉
I had a recall for a software update on my new car. I made an appointment and took my vehicle in. The service advisor told me the software updates could take from an hour and a half +. I waited in the customer lounge which was comfortable and was stocked with drinks and snacks. In an hour and a half my vehicle was ready. I have been a Richard Kay customer for 5 + years. Have had some problems with Cadillac in the past but the service department made things happen at little cost to me and no thanks to Cadillac corporate office. I am no longer a Cadillac customer but I am still a GM customer. My newest car came from another dealership but only because what o wanted is in high demand and short supply and Richard Kay did not have any in stock. Otherwise I would have bought my car there.
Richard Kay Chevrolet was very easy to work with. I live 90 minutes from the dealership and we worked through all of the numbers and all of the paperwork was ready to go when I got to the dealership. From start to finish, they made it a very pleasing experience.

Very disappointed with there customer service in their service department..have a problem with my radio not working in my Denali suv..went in too ask for some help to fix it my self if I could..man behind counter wouldnt answer any of my questions to help me all he wanted too do is put my suv in for service...THAT NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE thats just give me all your money.. not everyone can afford what they charge to just tell you what is wrong..Customer service is helping the customer that bought their vehicle from them an helping fix the problems or answering questions without always charging them..

Purchased a 2013 Ford Edge from this location and had nothing but issues. First full day off the lot my engine overheating and check engine light came on. Check the codes and it said misfire & catalytic converter. I advised the sales rep and he setup for me to bring it in. Per the sales rep spark plugs were changed. Picked the vehicle back up and a few days later the check engine light is back on. I had the codes read and it was the catalytic converter. Took it back to Richard k and the said a new catalytic converter was put on. A week later the check engine light came on and the code read catalytic converter. Reach out and I didn’t hear back from my sales rep. Yesterday the engine coolant light came on and antifreeze was everywhere. Contacted my sales rep and he had an attitude! He was acting as if I am asking them to look at a new issue. These are issues never resolved. Poor communication and bad service over all. Manager called and I told him I was having someone else look at it and he sounded ok with it. Guess passing the buck is the way at Richard K! You would think they would make it right but their sales person was very disappointing with his tone. I still haven’t received the requested list of what was so called done on my vehicle.

Not a regular to this dealer, actually from out of state. Had to purchase a new vehicle due to an accident where I was rammed by someone going over 100 mph & 4 weeks later my vehicle was totaled. Had a 2021 Terrain delivered to me less than 15 days ago purchased from a dealer in Florida, loaded that up and drove to SC to continue treatment. I realized there was a noise in the vehicle and could not determine what it was. Drove to Richard Kay Superstore and spoke with Manager; Justin. He was very willing to hop in the car with me and determine what this noise could be, and determine if it was safe to continue driving it 80 miles a day to get to/from therapy or if I needed to leave it there for repair. Within 10 minutes he had found where the noise was coming from (a bolt was missing on some heat shield underneath the passenger side floorboard). All I can say is we went back to dealer and within 30 or so minutes, I was driving away with the bolt in place and a very happy woman AND NO MORE RATTLE NOISE! After almost a month of trying to get my life back, and dealing with insurance companies, Doctors and testing, a whole new definition of pain, a ruined trip to see my 90 year old Aunt, etc., and having the expedient attention Justin gave to this tiny problem; was a such a relief & feeling of “ maybe things are finally going to become easier” on the road to recovery... that I cannot express enough how monumental it was to me just to have this off of my list of things to have to deal with!My thanks and appreciation to Richard Kay for allowing this personalized attention.
8/27/21Wanted to update my review from 3/18/21, as I went back a second time on 8/27/91 to get service done on my Buick Enclave. Once again I ran into a problem. I am part of the GM rewards program, and was supposed to get GM Reward points credited for the service. When the points did not show up in a few days, I called the dealership about it, and someone from the service department said GM was taking a long time crediting points and it could be up to two weeks. After two and half weeks the points were still not credited, so I called GM rewards directly, and found out the dealership had not even submitted the invoice. Not sure what to do since this dealership is the closest to me, and I am not interested in driving further for service, but at this points I have not had a successful experience with either of my service appointments and could not recommend them to anyone with another choice of dealerships.We just moved to the area, and this was the first time we took our Buick to this dealership for service. When I called to schedule the service I was quoted a price of $89, and when I arrived I was told it would be $149 minimum. That is a very significant difference. In addition, I was told I would receive a free exterior car wash, which I did not get. Not a huge problem other than the integrity of saying you will give something and then you dont.I was very disappointed with this first experience at the dealership.
Cornelius and the dealership were fantastic. We are from out of town on a weekend and were forced to leave our vehicle overnight for a emergent serious brake problem. Not only did he call at 730 Monday morning, he communicated with us throughout the day as he said he would. Also, he was able to fix the entire issue that day and get us back on the road without a hitch. A sincere thank you. Customer service as it should be.
The guys and gals at Richard Kay did an excellent job in taking care of me and the purchase of my truck! Would definitely go back and recommend for anyone looking for an automobile. Barrett took care of everything and made the purchase a great experience!

Awful service department! Friend brought her trax here and they were rude! Took way too long! And Wrecked her car! And the owners response to all of this was good luck going somewhere else! What kind of OWNER doesn’t care about his customers??? Richard Kay, that’s who.

When I dropped the vehicle off in the morning I was told it would be ready that afternoon. No phone call later on. I called them and had to leave my name and number for a call back. No call back. I got a call the “next” day saying the vehicle was ready. Your service department is very unorganized!
Great customer service. My 2017 encore broke down while visiting my parents in SC. I dropped it off on a Sunday and Robert my advisor called me Monday morning at 730am to get my info and by 1030am he called me to tell me my car was fixed. Very satisfied with the service I received. This company went above and beyond to make a situation correct for me. The fact that the owner actually responded to me himself and had his workers go above and beyond to reach back out to me says a lot about the integrity of their company, and they sure did do the right thing.

Rob Kay handled my purchase from start to finish. The acquisition of the vehicle was difficult because of COVD but Rob prevailed and I received it very close to his estimated date.Rob was extremely helpful in providing the details associated with the purchase.

Mike the finance manager got me a great interest rate and patiently answered my many questions. Most dealership only have 0ne person taking care of service but youll had three so there was no wait, I told Mr Brown that I needed an oil change & tires rotated, and that I had a couple of coupons, Mr Brown looked my car up on his computer & gave me back my coupons and said they would handle this plus do it one more time. I told him I did not buy my car there and he said thats ok. What a great way to start a monday
