Pleasantly surprised to find such a good variety of healthy foods near my random hotel. Even items I have been missing due to supply chain issues were available here, amazing! Felt like home until an unmasked security person started explaining how I was violating shoplifting rules while I was paying for items I was removing from my backpack in the checkout lane. I understand being a rules stickler but he was oddly unfazed that he was unmasked during a local outbreak of a respiratory disease while explaining an arbitrary rule I broke. Consistent with Alaskas #1 transmission ranking. I appreciate the authentic local experience. Come for the good selection of healthy foods, stay because you are detained for using a bag you brought. Word to the wise, you are supposed to use the provided plastic baskets and transfer to your personal bag once you have paid for the items. Masks optional.

The Natural Pantry has, by far, the best selection of organic, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan foods in the city. They are conveniently located in midtown and boast everything from prepared salads and a bakery to vegan makeup and aroma therapy oils. Their fruit and vegetable selection is varied and they carry several Kosher products as well. Even though the store is the same size as a chain grocery, the staff make it feel like a small local market. The are running a clothing drive (for new sweatshirts, boots, gloves, socks, etc.). So if you are headed that way during July 2020 bring what you can along.

Disappointed in this store. It really has so much more potential and has since they first opened. Why they spent so much $$ on unused space and departments is beyond me.Its a huge store and so spread out. Recently the shelves have been half empty, theres less staff than before, and that office area is always a disaster with merchandise piled up.Be better off selling the store to Trader Joes and some other grocery chain!!

The security is excellent so if youre trying to steal go elsewhere.They have all of the healthy organic foods that you could want and you can buy in bulk here. The staff are very friendly. Store is very neat and organized.Just a heads up you cant bring backpacks in here as this is part of their security measures.

I had a land mine of allergy’s for an event serving food. The very friendly and knowledgeable staff help guide me through the land mines. Thank you would highly recommend.

A (very!) long time local family business, not subsidized by taxpayer supported corporate tax subsidies like Carrs (Safeway) y & Freddy’s (Kroger). If you care about supporting Alaska businesses, this is your place. A great selection subject to the uncertainties of shipping and not having a warehouse which the city/borough wouldn’t permit for who knows what reason.

I just went in to get some olive oil soap bars. I love this soap and keep a bar at the kitchen sink. It cuts through grease and also removes the smells from oils, garlic, vinegar from your hands quickly. It doesnt dry out you skin and the bar lasts a very long time.Natural Pantry has Kiss My Face olive oil soap in three bar packs for about $6. Such a bargain!

They have so many choices that my son who has celiac disease which is an autoimmune and it cannot have gluten of any kind every variety of wonderful things that my son would be able to eat. A lot of other natural foods vitamins snacks.Every single place wonderful pleasant the polite and their extraordinarily helpful.

A wonderful variety of quality goods.This is the place for hard to find organic foods and supplements.You can buy in bulk, its not cheap but if you want bulk organic goods (200lb organic wheat berries, 100lbs of coconut shavings, 10lb brewers yeast etc) you can get it here. They had everything from fresh organic and local produce to nutritional yeast and apricot kernels, even black cumin seed, fresh aloe vera leaves, CBD, etc etc.

They need to remove expired meats from the frozen section.Went there a week ago. Grabbed their frozen burgers without checking the expiration date (partially my bad). Today I go to make them and the best-by date says 10/22/2020.

Always a fan of Natural Pantry! I do miss the sandwich bar, they made the best sandwiches and straps pre pandemic. The prices are more than your average grocery store but they truly curate quality products. I try to stop by anytime Im in the area.

I love this place! I eat organic, gluten-free, and mostly dairy-free and was impressed by their product selection. If youre on a special diet, this is the place to go, as they have specialty items that are not available at other stores. The vitamin/ supplement/ health department is more extensive than Ive seen anywhere else in the area (I stocked up on this stuff back in March and found everything I needed). The employees are super kind and helpful too.

I Love NP. Every time I’ve shopped the employees and owner have been very kind and helpful. Special shout out to the young man in Seafood and Meat Dept. He went out of his way to repack large quantities of Scallops and Shrimp into smaller packages to avoid freezer burn. The vegetables are fresh and though it may cost a little more? I’d rather support a FAMILY owned business than a Mart store with poor quality produce.. prices are lower actually on many Supplements and the Variety is the best. The store is clean.. perhaps by now the whole “ mask “, facts and accurate accounting of said Virus have now been made public and verified to be blown out of proportion.. no more than H1N1, and all the various virus living on our living planet.. my only suggestion, would be some pleasant instrumental music to add to the shopping experience.. I look forward to fresh Deli service soon.. far cleaner store than the chain stores.. besides.. I ❤️ Shop Local.. It’s the right thing to do if your are local too!

While the store has some issues, namely a strange layout, totally inconsistent prices, and many products with no prices listed at all, it is definitely a nice step up from their old location. They have many things you cant get anywhere else in Anchorage and their salad bar is quite nice.However their pandemic response has been pretty iffy, out of all the stores I go to in Anchorage I see more mask-less shoppers here than anywhere else.

I enjoy this place so much! The food is of the freshest in town. I can find all my Gluten free and Dairy free needs in one spot. If you are ever interested in trying something new and natural. The veggie section has cool fruits and veggies that can be a first for some...the Gluten free option Inhabit one big isle for easy finding.

I really love this place even though its pricy because their quality is so good. My issue as of late is that theyre not enforcing the city mandated mask policy at all so its not a safe place to be. Honestly its a real shame to see but unsurprising if the rumors Ive heard about the management from friends are to be believed. Might edit later to be a better review if they shape up their game.

Ive frequented this store the last two years that Ive lived in Anchorage. Great selection. I enjoy the freshly made salads and dishes they make daily. And I really appreciate the people. They have consistently been soo kind and helpful.

Great selection wonderful produce lots of variety of different ethnic ingredient wonderful spices prices are a little high on some stuff and really high on other stuff will be back just hope for as many employees that are in the store they keep a better eye open for people without masks it just destroys my shopping experience during these times to see an arrogant Karen not wearing her mask and proud of it with as many employees that were in there never should’ve happened

Based on two recent, separate experiences, Natural Pantry does not appear to be enforcing mask requirements. I love Natural Pantry’s health food selection, but find it upsetting that I cannot safely shop at this store because I’ve now observed multiple employees and customers not wearing masks. I even observed a customer request one of the employees wear a mask, only to be cursed out by the employee.

Just went for mint extract, pretty dim in there but its nice. Love the little honey tubes mixed w lots I got mint for tea.

A friend called up to the store, and asked if she could ask the cashier if they had a certain product. Their reply was that the cashier didnt know anything and abruptly hung up. Poor service, and bashed their own employee, way to go guys.

Very good selection of produce and packaged food. Wish the butcher was a counter shop. Top quality stuff but youll pay for it.

Very bad experience! I tried going in on Christmas eve at 6:10PM and the Orange haired kid whos name is Sven i think? Came up to me very aggressively and almost thought he was going to physically assault me! During this Covid pandemic he didnt even have a mask on! Please review the security footage! Nobody should ever be treated the way I was. Unacceptable!Luckily I was very calm and explained I needed to get a few items very quickly and the store closes at 7pm and was currently 6:15PM Christmas eve night.I hope the manager is able to see this review!

My wife has been shopping at Natural Pantry for several years now, and loves their store and product selection. As I often shop for her, I can agree with her. Clean, professional, and always has what were looking for. I even shop there for Christmas presents for my wife on occasion. Highly recommend this place.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Helped me every step to get my wife what she needed for bath soaps.

Out side of rona, they have the best salad bar in town.

This place is pretty overpriced, theyre often out of things and low to restock, and Ive encountered several employees with grumpy attitudes. I might just be catching them on the wrong day, but its happened multiple times with the same employees. I avoid their checkout lines and seem to have a decent experience.

The prices are a bit high, and it was incredibly hard to find non gmo corn meal, in fact I didnt find any at all.

I love the place, the smell,the veggies and vitamins. But their customer service is alright.

I love this store but they don’t seem to enforce the mask mandate, as I noticed 4 people completely without masks (one of which was an employee stocking shelves), and multiple people with masks below the nose. This makes me wary of shopping here. Fred Meyer, carrs, and Costco do a better job of enforcing masks and more people comply there. As others have noticed, cashiers do not attempt to make conversation and they slowly and absent-mindedly throw your items in your bag in a very disheveled way.

I wanted to love it but its too expensive and still under construction.

Great selection of organic products and the organic produce can’t be beat. They have just about everything, in organic, at decent prices, one could ever want.Prices are a bit higher than in the lower 48, but eh, it all has to be shipped up here. They have some neat local products as well. Definitely worth a stop.

April 23, 2020. Why aren’t employees wearing masks? Customers are. Why are there no sanitizing wipes for the carts? I brought my own. I will not be back until this is corrected. I’ve had another friend comment on Natural Pantry’s lack of adherence to the recommendations. Bad rap for NP. I expected better.

I agree with others, all the staff seems sad and unenthusiastic about working there. If you go to other health food places, staff always seem to be educated on the products and like people who use the products. Checking out is always so awkward. No conversation and sometimes not even eye contact. I love their products and some of them you can only find in NP and not other stores around Anchorage so I go back but it’s always a slightly uncomfortable and awkward experience.

They have an extensive selection of food items and spices and all sorts of items you won’t find in many places around Anchorage. There are many speciality items, you have multiple choices of gift items to choose from which is great. Their service is friendly, knowledgeable of their products and willing to help you find what you are looking for. Great place to shop, just be careful, you can spend a lot of time looking around as there are so many things that will catch your eye that you just have to look at.

If youre looking for a possibly hard to find ingredient at a standard Alaskan grocer, try this store first! I was looking for baking ingredients and they had like 4 kinds of everything - fair trade and organics too!
