Staying at Renaissance, a short walk worth every step. Had a platter with rice and beef pork, excellent. Wife had wrap with same meat. Certainly no scant on serving size. Would return if in area again or any place I see another. No disappointments here if you like gyro type food.

Employees are amazing except they employee security who does not enforce the no-smoking laws. I even witnessed a manager correcting an employee for where they littered their cigarette but not for smoking within 20 ft. of the public entrance.

Great customer service, polite, respectful, welcoming, amazing greetings and departures. Food fresh, easily approaches to items. Definitely reliable employees to advocate for self on location of specific groceries and or other things that need assistance on locating items. In other words employees know the job theyre doing

Good basic grocery store. Im from out of town and to me the location of items didnt seem super intuitive. They did however have the items we were looking for which was nice. Going to a grocery is cheaper than trying a pharmacy or heading out of town first and finding the same items on the way to tourist areas.The store was nice and clean. Also well stocked and staffed.Overall good experience just a little hard to find things.

Has small selection of most things you might need. Clean, well stocked, name brands and generics offered, prices around what you would expect for a small grocery store in the middle of town. I found everything I was looking for easily

Good supermarket for cheap groceries

There is no restroom for customers. Often police activity in the parking lot.It is possibly the smallest Carrs in Anchorage, It feels like it.The hot food clerks were nice and also one also chipper.

This is my favorite Carrs. Staff is always friendly. Close to my house. And got what I need. Dont let the panhandling and the occasional parking lot outburst from the loiter..ers outweigh the benefits of going there.

Friendly service and good item variety. Is in a low income part of the city so there are anti-theft locks on many items.

It was the first time Ive been there in over a year n I noticed they remodeled some. It was nice. It was late at night n a whole line n a half of people n only one cashier 🙄 but my over all experience was nostalgic n inviting

Just saw someone vaccinate themselves all on their own right outside this place. I heard people calling this the crack carrs but I think it promotes a positive pro-vax environment! 👍

No restrooms, no place to sit down and eat, most items priced to stay in store. Compared to other Carriers and Safeway Stores.

Besides being in a area, thats has many homeless people and some with mental problems! Do to the fact theres a program in that location, that helps and assist many of this people. I give the Carrs in this location more than 5 stars, for having a clean store, and very friendly good attitude from all of their employees. Thank you for staying on this location. No the Carrs located in Fairview is not a ghetto groceries store. I ha3being in ghetto stores outside. Alaska, and trust me it doesnt look like this Carrs. Who ever the manager is.Keep up the good work!

This location isnt safe...always people next to the entrance making trouble and always get in your face. If they ask for something and you dont give it they follow you to your car and harass you.

What can I tell you about carrs that you dont already know. The store is clean. I like to get doughnuts there in the morning. In the lower 48 they call this store plain ol safeway. I give them 5⭐s!

The grocery store is great its the out side that is not so much homeless ppl dirty and who whats to go to the store to be harassed

Located on the outskirts of downtown at 13th and Gamble. One of the smaller if not oldest Carrs grocery in Anchorage. Its Anchorage version of the hood Carrs. Parking lot neglected with outdated design. Has an open keg liquor store attached. Across the way from a mental health establishment. So you see a lot of unusual activity in the area. To put it politely. Anyway, I enjoy it. It doesnt have as many options as some of the bigger Carrs Safeways in town but it has what I need-- most of the time

Carrs was surrounded by creepy people and a guy was peeing on the building it was discussing and dirty

The cashier was extremely rude.. i walked into the liquor store and with out greeting me the cashier demanded to see my ID card tell me I had been in the store earlier that day which I had not she refused to serve me spoke to me rude and that was my experience nothing like what you see on the commercials . I proposed to the manager that if they found me on video I would not return to Bass Pro Shop ever she felt like that was a good idea but I suggested you have to cash it was wrong then she should be suspended and then I got a lot of double talk so I really want to speak to a manager from the corporate office so I can get the respect that I should have received the first time .

The best Carrs in Anchorage but “best” refers to the absurdity of the experience which is full of wonders. That being said the staff are super hardworking and deal with incredible things I couldn’t even fathom before.

The store itself has good deals like any cars. The selection is decent for where it is at. And it is usually clean. If this store existed in a vacuum it would be 5 stars for sure.However. The location. As numerous other people can attest to, it is surrounded by: homeless, unemployed, dangerous, and smelly beggars. If you are brave or strong or dont feel like you personally are going to be victimized then by all means go ahead. If you are older or frail or uncomfortable being heckled then go elsewherDO NOT LET THEM GUILT YOU INTO BUYING THEM ANYTHING.

Ok store except for the constant homeless harassing

First visit this morning. Very clean store and friendly employees.

The staff is not froendly at all. I dont think i can blame them though. They are working in a rough part of town dealing with a rpugh bunch of people. It was well stocked and clean.

I saw 3 dudes stealing. And the security running after 1 of them.

They have food for sale, and its convenient to run in, but you have to fight your way past a crowd of homeless beggars to get in. Often not enough checkers, so wait is long. But the staff is helpful and friendly.

The store itself is great and the staff are nice and welcoming as well, but just watch out for the homeless people outside. But the store cant control whos outside, but the staff are great considering the surrondings as its in a sketchy part of town next to the Black Angus Inn where theres always a police car and one time I saw police tape.

Not a bad location except the homeless going in and asking for money or stealing. I like the people who work there and the security are good people.

Again Carrs is super clean and classy. They make shopping simple somehow even fun, even for those of us that dislike grocery stores. Carrs makes it very easy to find any item you could imagine.

Its the most dangerous cars you can go to theres always people out there harassing you people trying to rob you trying to beg for money and stealing out of the stores its just they need to hire better staff to keep control of the that people that are just loitering out there the big people for money and then they go by booze with it right away

Walk straight in Carrs, right to the register, to get some cigarettes, took 10 seconds. The samoan security guards starts harassing me about the outline in my jacket pocket. Hes asking whats in my pocket...sigh. Just asking he says. I told him you can ask does mean I was going to show him. To keep things flowing (cause you know the cashiers hands werent moving as it too hard to work easedrop at the same time) I told him what it was and I didnt appreciate him harassing me like some theif. These employees at the Carrs on gambell are by far the rudest and have no customer service skills whatsoever.
