Very kind and helpful staff. A surprisingly wide selection! We only had to make this one stop which not something Im used to doing when looking for shoes since my feet are wider and on the small side. Ive gotten so many compliments on my new shoes and Ive directed everyone to this store for their own pair!

Didnt have a wide selection in my size, but I did manage to find a pair of casual shoes that fit and were comfortable. There was a large selection for all ages. The isles were a bit crowded.

Went in on a break from work one day, found a pair of awesome sneakers only I didnt have the cash for them right then. They definitely held onto them for me for almost 2 weeks!! Didnt seem annoyed that I came in several times to check if they were still there. Very friendly employees!!

For a place with carnival in the name, I was expecting to overpay by having to play rigged hoop toss game but the prices were actually rather fair.Good selection of shoes with wide styles too.

Prices are average. Quality of merchandise is average. Employees are helpful enough, once you go to them. They dont sell western boots, hiking boots, military-style boots, or even work boots. They have hiking and work SHOES, but not boots, which is a mistake.

I was honestly kinda disappointed. Ive been to Shoe Carnivals in other states and they were always awesome. The online store is always awesome too! I understand that theyre changing everything out for the season, and to be fair they did have 3 employees restocking merchandise, but the shelves were still pretty bare and i didnt find anything that i liked that would have worked for my needs.

Cant give you five stars because you didnt have the shoe I wanted in my size, I had to order it and wait a week for it to come. Is this the reward for shopping local, and avoiding Amazon? They claim theyll have it to me in 2 days for 30% less.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It seems at this location the store owner could do a better job making sure shoe sizes are adequately stocked, especially in the kids sections. Also could stand to turn down the music in store, the sheer volume of the music made shopping kind of miserable.

Not into expensive sneakers but I found a pair that worked for me under $40. Being a size 13 wide its sometimes hard to find shoes. Staff was friendly, not pushy, and for a lot of people in there it didnt feel crowded.

Pretty clean. Stock wasnt the best. Sizes were a little more limited than I was hoping for. You can always order online but if youre like me you arent that patient for shoes and would rather try them first.

I was out of town for a softball tournament in Nevada and once we arrived to Nevada we realized we left our kids cleats at home in Des Moines. Of course in a panic I google the closest stores to find cleats and drive around Ames to 4 different ones trying to get cleats for my kids game that was within minutes. I decided to call shoe carnival as a shot of maybe they will have some since the other stores didnt. They did, but they didnt open until 11. I was sitting in the parking lot hoping maybe they would be able or willing to help me. The lady was kind enough to look and see that they indeed had some and they were the right size! I said that I know you are closed but would you be willing to let me pay for them so I can have them for the game. I even offered to have my card number left there in order to pay for them since the lady informed me that there were no registers open. I was told to come back at 11 when they opened and it was 10:15 and the game already started. There was a chance to go above and beyond for a customer in this situation I feel! Especially since we were out of town and couldnt wait until 11.
