Service was terrible i attempted to receive my couch twice the first time they never showed up and had me waiting until i called and asked whats going on just to tell me they short staffed and the delivery driver went home sick, but my delivery was scheduled days ahead of time. The second day I tried getting my furniture the guy delivered it and told me that I have to bring my own couch up 1 flight of stairs into my apartment because he couldnt do it by himself, I understand that but why is he delivering furniture alone is beyond me so, I canceled my whole order I completely wasted two days to get something I never got, everytime I call the guy seems irritated and sometimes he wont even answer my call... for my first time ordering rent a center it was a terrible experience never again.

1 Star for a few reasons, I dropped by a few days ago to see if a sectional love seat(by Ashley) I had found on Amazon would be available at my local Rent A Center. 5 stars because they dont do any credit checks which automatically means you will end up spending like 30% more than the actual item is worth if you pay it off. Ok, 1 star because I showed the manager the sectional love seat i wanted to get and he said he could get similar items but prolly not that specific 1. I asked him if he had a wish list I could put it on...I actually looked him in the eye and said You can tell whoever you get your merch from that you have a guy (me) who will rent the love seat the same day its delivered. The manager still declined. I then saw a Santas Wish List up on their wall, clear view and large in size...again I asked if I could put the love seat on that list and he declined again. I mean, I Really got the idea this manager just didnt want to help me at all or do Any extra work. He wouldnt even look up surrounding warehouses or make any calls to ask around. I was pretty disappointed in his entire attitude towards helping me. I forgot to mention that when I showed up....at 1-2pm on a Saturday, non holiday, the door was locked to which my gf and I stood outside and read the hours they were open which were clearly stated on the front door. He said he must have turned the key the wrong way. You can believe that or not, whichever you choose. So, yeah...not impressed. I must have asked 4 times atleast to put my love seat on a wishlist because obviously Id Really like to have it but Mr. No just wouldnt even budge. This was my Only experience at Ames, IA Rent A Center....Update (11-13-20) I am currently on hold as I was instructed by the below response to call their number. Been on hold for 13minutes, now I have to go to work.
It may be convenient because there is not enough to purchase from an electronics store, furniture store, etc., but you are better off saving up than going here. Did my research and the hidden fees, gross mark-up of items is appalling. I will not make the mistake of rent to own again.
The mattress was paid for according to agreement. Delivery was delayed due to weather. Understandable-better safe than hurt. My back could wait 1 last weekend. RAC offers more percentage off future purchases for home as customer prives ability for keeping agreement. Theres a credit bailout for rebuilding a poor score back to health🤗👍😁😊😎
These are the nicest and most considerate group of guys Ive met in an establishment in a very long time, theyve helped me and my husband when things got a little bit crazy with our finances, they were there to help us out, these guys are in the AMES store, but now we may have to give up our beautiful furniture bc of this virus and no work right now, our finances are very very low and we dont know what to do.
Disrespectful people work there when the actual manager is not there no communication if there is a problem
Nice clean store, great service but as with all rent to own places you pay 500 times the actual cost. Its not this stores fault. If you have no problem doing it this way, coolHighly recconended
Josh and his crew are always great to work with. Always striving for customer satisfaction and it shows.
They will close the business at 5 to go to the bank when most people are getting off work. A smart manager would come in early do the bank deposit instead of having customers wait to make a payment.
Have good customer service, if They do not have what you are looking for they will find it or order it in.

This store has called nonstop everyday for a week. They have bad customer service that I have ever seen.also they claim that I have missed ten payments but we have not had the product for even a month yet
