Great big locationNot too many seating availableGets busy in the morning timesPastries and baked goods are right there when you enterGrab to tongs and a tray to grab your stuff. Everything is individually wrapped already.Sometimes they bring out the fresh goodies and re-stock the shelvesThere’s usually a good variety of items here and stocked for the most partParkingCustomer parking in the building attached. Just drive towards the back m. Street parking but 1 hr only and can get pretty busy. The drinks are pretty good hereMy personal fav is the sea salt Jasmine tea!! I get 50% sweet and the caffeine just wakes me up! The flavor is bold but not bitter from the tea. Can’t leave without a hokkaido cheese egg tart and a hot dog bun!
Inexpensive treats and delicious bread, what could be better? The bakery is also lively with a good aroma and open spaced enough.
Love 85 degrees. Their teas are really refreshing, and their salted coffee? The absolute best. Not to mention the bakery, which always has a great selection of cheap, delicious breads. Next time you are looking for a good cafe, grab a quick pastry and coffee at the 85 degrees. You won’t regret it.
One of my favorite places to go for boba milk tea, pastries are cakes. As you can see from my photos, there are many different styles and flavors of cakes that you can choose from. My personal favorite is the chocolate moose cake - it melts in your mouth! 😄My wife and I come here at least twice a week and they never disappoint. See you guys very soon!
One of my favorite place for to treat myself breads - slushy drinks or boba drinks and coffee...
Pastries are ok, not the best and not the worst I’ve had. I 100% agree with previous reviews that had a bad experience in terms of customer service. Girls there hate their job for sure. They are very slow, not friendly and this place is never busy so I can’t even imagine how bad it can be if they have more than 2 people in the line.Honestly, there are not a lot of options in the area but I would not recommend to get there if you are in a hurry to get a cup of coffee and a quick snack. If you have a lot of time, then give it a try but don’t expect anyone to make you feel welcomed lol
Ordered a cake to be delivered the next day by 4pm, by 4:10 the order screen only says the order has been received and nothing else. I called the store to ask what might be going on because I have no idea if it’s even getting made and the lady that picked up only wanted to get me off the phone and had no answers for me. I got my cake delivered an hour later. They only get 2 stars because the manager at least apologized when I called but they did nothing besides say sorry. Doesn’t make me wanna order from this location again which sucks cause the cakes are delicious :/
Excellent selection of pastry and bakery.Genuinely great taste. Superb coffee!Very nice prices.Highly recommended!
I always like the bakery and cakes from this place but the quality of service in this location is getting bad lately. I tried to call the store several time to order a birthday cake for my mom but the phone never got picked up. I had to go to the store in person this morning to get birthday cake but they told me they didn’t even have the “happy birthday” sign with the cake :( overall not very pleasant experience at this location.
We loved the variety of baked goods. The staff was great. The location is perfect. We could order some goods and sit and enjoy our time.
They have good variety of bread and coffee. You will probably find something that you like
Ive been coming here for years I really love their hot dog Breads and their iced sea salt coffee highly suggest Advil before only 50 Cent what a deal
Love the pastries from this place. This usted to be my favorite location, but staff has not been on their game lately. Attitude is everything, specially when you are dealing with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Staff is not as friendly as they used to. Covid regulations were not enforced at the time of my visit. On the upside, the place is clean, the pastries are fresh and there is free parking available. No public restrooms. Will think twice before coming back to this location.
Just called at 7:30pm on Wednesday April 21. Some guy picked up and did not respond but I could hear him breathing and sighing. I tried to get his attention for a minute then hung up and tried to call again. Then he disconnected the phone so I couldnt call anymore!! What a joke. Ive never been through something so rude like that before over the phone in my life. Complete disrespect for this location. I hope the manager finds this.
I always order a brioche and milk tea before I go to work. The combination cannot be beaten anywhere!!
Delicious pastries you wont regret stopping by.
Stood at the cake counter waiting for service a while 3 different employees walked past me without a single word. I even waved at one and he made eye contact for a second, then just went back to chatting. Finally, the person at the register, who for sure saw me earlier, said, Ill be right with you. Then proceeded to fill out some paperwork for another few minutes. I was really close to walking out but I put up with it because its was my moms birthday and I needed a cake. Mind you, the entire time, the store is near empty and Im the only one standing there at the front counter. On the up side, the Mango cake was amazing and my family loved it and the Sea Salt coffee was great. I just wish service was a bit more attentive. I dont even mind waiting, I just want my existence as a human being to be acknowledged. No one wants to be ignored. I think Im done with 85 degrees.
Clean, and Good experience at this bakery. They have a decent amount of baked goods that are delicious.
First time bought the strawberry banana smoothie and thought it was going to be from a real banana and strawberry, but it was mix with a pink and yellow liquid to blend. Didnt tase like it much.
Sweets at good prices. A great variety of drinks. Clean and safe. Restrooms around the counter.
Went near closing time and not much selections left, with some of them in the wrong trays. They should be discounted and I hope they dont sell the leftovers the next day.
Have a sweet tooth? Great treats. If you go too late at night they may be out of goodies. Free parking.
Great bread as always. Great value especially for breakfast.
I usually go to the 85 Bakery in Glendale location. But I couldnt place a pickup order because I guess it was too close to closing time. So I end up going to Alhambra 85 Bakery. Wow, the Chinese lady there at the cashier had the nastiest attitude. I had purchase a Strawberry Chocolate Mousse cake in person. Also told her I place an order online. She kept making me repeat myself. I had to tell her 4 times. Of course I got irritated. Repeat myself one last time. Shes like waiting for me to pay for the one slice 1st before handing the cake to me. Nor did she bother checking up on my order. What did she think I was going to do. Run of with the slice of cake and not pay for it. So I gave her the money. Then she gave me my slice of cake. And, still didnt bother checking up on my online order. I ask the young Hispanic lady who was making drinks. Oh my gosh, she was so super nice, friendly and professional. Told her about my online order. Took care of it right away. I will never go back to that location again. I will give this store a 3 stars. And the young Hispanic lady that help me. She gets 6 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars for her awesome service. That Chinese lady behind the cashier, she gets a 0.
Their cakes look good but the dry a/f. Oatmeal cookies taste good but over did it with the white drizzle frosting and crunched up Candy cane. Guess you get what you pay for. Prices are ok. But I would recommend perfectly sweets down the street. Lil pricey but bomb a** cakes taste amazing.
Wonderful bakery. It was clean, tasty, and had an excellent variety.
My 85C Bakery by work closed down. I was very happy to find this location open.
I bought yesterday a tiramisu cake for my daughters 21st birthday and she was unsatisfied with it. It didnt have that coffee kahlúa taste not too wet super dry. I give it a 3/10 needs more flavor. I do love your other sweet bread its delicious because of it I thought the tiramisu would taste delicious but it didnt. You need to go and taste real Italian pastries.
I liked the hot dog buns and the brioche bread. The cakes are not that special, but theyre cute! Sometimes thats whats important. The posted signs maximum is not enforced though, so if you feel uncomfortable be careful.
Self service bread spot that I go to often for my bread fix. This bakery offers many options from sea salt coffee to pastries and cakes. There so many options that I dont even know what to try. To be honest many of the pastries look weird because I never would think salty food should mix with sweet foods but for some reason this Asian bakery does it right everytime. If youre looking for an alternative to the traditional American cake. Try this places half size long cut cakes. portion sizes are small but diabete non-friendly.
Pretty good selection. Not huge, (for 830ish am) . Probably in process of making more stuff 🤔
I love 85°C Bakery but since the pandemic, they cut down on making all the other pastries they used to make. My daughter and I will still support them.
Really good bakery! They even have vegetarian options. A must try place!
Great bread but their cakes are lacking. I bought a whole tiramisu cake for my dads birthday today and although the cake tasted fine, it wasnt the freshest.- The macarons on top were soggy to the touch.- The happy birthday white chocolate sign was written on the back of an old happy mothers day chocolate from two months ago.Since I already drove off with the cake to the party, I couldnt bring up the issue with them. I wouldnt buy a cake from them again. For the price, I had higher expectations for quality goods.
Love this place!!! Their bread is one of the best and cheapest that you can find. Their cake sometimes its not to my liking but hey everyone have different taste
They have really good 🎂 cakes and some good pastries but not all variety
They have many choices although we went a bit late evening. good selections and boba drinks
Speedy service. Employees need to pay attention to customers who are just picking up their orders though
One of my favorite Taiwanese bakeries. The pastries are airy, fluffy, light and not too sweet. The prices are very reasonable (around $2-$3 each). Favorites include brioche and sesame bread. The sea salt coffee is a nice treat if you need a pick me up - be aware that the coffee is quite strong. Personally do not recommend the cakes.
Small place. But its ok
Great pastries at affordable prices
Order 2 coffees hot and one cup the lid was not on correctly. Coffee spill on hand and was not able to go back in to get napkins.
Wonderful baked goods that are delicious and satisfying every time! Wonderful food.
Delicious pastries and bread. Low stock due to COVID.
All the baked goods are so soft a very good price. Prices ares very good, everything is good here.
Ordered the ice salted caramel drink. Hits the spot. 5/5. Would come back just for the same drink. Im curious to try the breads and pastries, but havent yet, so my review is only for the coffee.
This place is my favorite for fresh sweet and tasty pastries with a refreshing boba on the side. Prices are really good for what youre getting out of here. If you have never been here, add this to you list to try some desserts with the fam.
Great store... First time went there with my mom after she learned of the Café from her church sister. The new Matcha drink was awesome. The selection of pastries was not only impressive for a new customer they actually last in the fridge. So i stocked up. Actually priced per pastry decent. I recomend the almond triangle puff (name escapes me lol) the vanilla latte espresso, which I also bought, was perfect as an escape from the normal signature flavors that all go unrecognized as similar bland. Deffinatly recomend.
Not much to say about this place that countless other people have not already said. This is a very popular coffee/bakery. The pastries are really good although I dont have a lot of experience with Chinese bakeries. What keeps me going back is their Salted Caramel Coffee. I drive 20 minutes for this coffee and it is well worth it.
85C is solid. You get consistent quality as long as the bread is not hours old. I must add one thing though. 85C is kind of like the Taco Bell of Chinese bakeries, as all of the items kind of taste similar. You just order a different form of item.
This experience wasnt the greatest because they ran out of everything and stopped serving drink kind of early, but it was on Thanksgiving, so Ill give them a pass.
Amazing workers and follow the cdc guidelines
Basically, this place is where you go when you have more money than usual. High quality bread, pastries, and cookies. Theres a bit of a wait at the cashier, but that just means its that popular. Their creams are not too heavy, sugar not to sweet, but just right. I got the mango cream bread and I gotta say, the insides of that bread felt like a genuine mango, down to the texture.
Fantastic Chinese/Taiwanese style bakery. Low prices on really nice baked goods. The lines can get a little bit long at times to checkout, but its never too bad and its worth the wait. The hot dogs arent as good here as they are at bakeries in China in my opinion, the sweet stuff is great, and the garlic bread is some of the best Ive ever had.
Best croissant in bay area. I ordered plain and almond croissants. It was super amazing. My heart was racing. Arsicalut is totally another level. Now i am a huge fan of almond croissants.
Love the sea salt coffe and taro swirl bun!
Bad service. The barista that is making the drinks today has no clue.
Great 🍞
Within the entrance alone, your walking in and you get such an aroma of this bakerys many delicious baked goods. And to cherry top it, if you think your nose is fooling you, you hear staff members say aloud, fresh bread, fresh bread!. Can you ever go wrong with visual freshness coming to the floor? Id think not. Despite the minimal seating, the vibe from the environment just warms your heart... and your appetite for pastries.
Hot milk tea in 40degree morning? Yes plz
This bakery has some of the best food and desserts ive ever bought retail! Also really cheap! super delicious and fresh
Nice place to meet over fresh baked goods. Huge selection of sweet and savory pastries. On Mondays, you can get 85 cent special drinks for a limited time.
Lots of variety in baked goodies. Reasonable price. Hot and cold drinks available for purchase. Free parking available in building parking lot. Limited seatings inside bakery.
The moment you walk in, there is a dizzying array of delectable desserts sitting in cases at the front counter. The bread selection is also very fresh, you almost can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. The classic taro bun and pineapple bun are great, and a good place to start if it’s your first time at cafe 85.
Quick summary:- Sea Salt drinks are great- Salted Butter Bread is good (as are the Spinach Kale Danish and the Hokkaido Cheese Tart)- otherwise unnecessarily expensiveA solid variety of baked goods. The one thing that will make me stop by, however, is not any bread but their Sea Salt series (coffee or tea. They also have a Sea Salt Fruit Medley Smoothie, but the pineapple ended up WAY too strong for my taste). Its not the only place to have it, but its a darn compelling reason to stop by because its so good.Their Salted Butter Bread is the one baked good I THOROUGHLY enjoy. (Make sure you gently steam and then lightly bake/toast it warm if you plan to eat it the next day.) They also have decent Hokkaido Cheese Tarts and a pretty good Spinach Kale Danish.Other than those, it feels that their stuff errs on the expensive side simply because of their renown, but a lot of goods seem unnecessarily expensive, either because theyre not particularly great or because other bakeries do a better job (and some are slightly expensive, at that).
High quality bakery that is self-serve except for beverages. Not the cheapest but they do have some individual treats for under $2. Ingredients that could be a concern are listed on item name and price cards. No table service. Some treats have alcohol in them so read the signs. Specialty deluxe cakes are standard priced at $32. Parking in garage in back is free but can be a pain to get in and out of. Staff seem efficient although not particularly fast in making sure the line of customers keeps moving.
Always fresh, their strawberry cake is the best.
This place may have the best cake ever! It was so delicious. Unfortunately dont have a photo because I ate it too fast! But definitely go here and try the blueberry one!
Cashier is not very friendly here. After knowing that I want to redeem my points for a desert, she shows an unhappy face, and put the scanner heavily back to the holder after scanning.
85C is a great bakery! (although Im still a Bake Code homeboy! :P Its hard to be super-excited about this Alhambra 85C if youve been to the Pasadena 85C first. Alhambra is good, but Pasadena is so much bigger. There might have been more, or a lot more, food items in Pasadena. Or I might be wrong, Im not positive. It seemed like a lot more. For sure theres so much more seating in Pasadena! You almost have to get your stuff to go in Alhambra. Theres only about 4 tables for 2 there and whoever gets them seems to stay forever so you cant realistically wait for a table. In Pasadena they have SO MANY tables! Plus one huge, tall, community seating table.85C Alhambra is a good place, and if I lived in the apartments there Im sure Id be hanging out. For me, if Im in Alhambra, Id rather just go enjoy Bake Code, or if I want to hang out at 85C, its worth the hop up to Pasadena for a much nicer version of the same place.
One of the better Western pastry and coffee shops from Taiwan. The cakes are colorful and nicely decorated. The texture however is nothing special. It offers a variety of baked buns that have special interest to the Asians。Coffee is not bad, but it‘s signature sea salt coffee is an acquired taste. The reason I give it only 3 stars is that it’s sitting area is often unkept. The tables often have left over from the previous guests and the floor could be messy and slippery from food dropping. They do have a person cleaning the tables and floor from time to time, but just not regular enough, given the bad habits of their guests.
Always have a large selections of breads. Clean, open and there are tables and seats if you want to sit down. Parking is easy in the structure.
Even though they occupy a very spacious room, they don’t really offer many tables. That may be the only nitpick that I might have of this place. Other than that, good bread and pastry, good coffee, and accessibly parking lot. It was not busy even in the Saturday afternoon. I regularly come pick up egg tarts and coffee drinks.
Nice shop with all you need for a bite of bakery. A bit of Asian style but would suit all tastes.
Food is not always straight out of the oven (saying fresh bread is just a company policy, regardless of freshness). You can ask the employees if they have the bread you want. The sea salt drinks are good, but sea salt Monday (where sea salt coffee of any size is 85 cents) lines are kind of long. Their smoothies are also good.Seats arent always available, so dont plan on eating in.
I ask the lady for a tray and she threw them on the rack. If you dont like tour job work somewhere else. She got upset because I asked for a tray. The cashier was not friendly at all. I have never had a bad experience going there but I guess there is always a first time. I need to remember not to go there at night. I will continue to go there just not in the evening.
Pastries were all moist and delicious! Many varieties to choose from, and an extensive drink menu also. Grab a set of tongs and go!
Cleanest and most organized bakery in town. Quality deserts and drinks with fair price and lovely taste in a mixture of Chinese and western style. Spacious and clean rest area being well renovated. Wonderful spot for people who get tired setting foot along the streets and need a delicious rest.
I went to Alhambra 85° and got a cake for my co-workers birthday. I asked the cashier for a cake cutter...he gave me a plastic knife!!! A regular plastic knife. If it costs extra, Id happily would have paid for it. I will never go there again.
Good bakery products
In my opinion, their bread has one of the greatest texture and fluffiness for their price of around $2 each. Drinks are good there too but nothing special.
Great options of nice desserts. Customer service is also great. Theyre nice and service is quick.
Great Selection Of Goodies🤩🤩🤩And It Doesnt Put A Dent In Your Wallet. Very Affordable 🥮🧁🥧💞
Very few healthy eating options, good selection of coffee though. Very less sitting arrangement compared to size of the shop. So much empty space
