So many delicious choices that its always hard to decide what to order. This place uses real taro, natural cane sugar, and organic milk. The inside is a bit small but its really cozy and even comes with log-shaped pillows on the couch. Theres also outdoor seating, which is perfect on a cool summer night. The WiFi is reliable and strong enough to reach the outdoor area. Parking is available at the Old School House garage for free the first 90 minutes then its $2 per hour up to $6 max.
Surprisingly hadnt tried this place out so decided to UberEATS a few drinks to try out.The drinks were all alright. Not the best Ive had, but definitely not the worst still.ITEMS ORDERED:House Special Coffee (medium sweet)Black Vietnamese Iced CoffeeFlavored Iced Tea (green tea w/ passion fruit juice, light sweetness)TASTE:House Special Coffee kind of sounded like 7 Leaves house coffee & it kind of tastes like that but not as good. The coffee flavor is too dormant & it gets overly milky the more you drink it. I could not even taste the hazelnut flavor so I wonder if it was forgotten. Not a bad flavor overall, just too unbalanced & does not come together.Black Vietnamese Iced Coffee is just as described. Nice & cold & very strong. I imagine many people would find this quite strong. Its like an overly strong dark roast Americano. Not sure if its just on the UberEATS app or if its the same in store, but I was unable to order just an iced green tea. The green tea with passion fruit was ok. Even though I got light sweetness I still found it pretty sweet. Green tea flavor is there but it prefer it stronger. Also I do feel if the passion fruit flavor had more tartness to it, the whole drink would come together better.SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING:UberEATS order so no direct comments on service.I like how all the drinks had a tamper evident sticker securing the cup & lid. But I do think the drinks could have all been a bag. Also, was given all boba straws even though I didnt order any boba. Maybe they ran out of regular straws. They are located in the 99 Ranch shopping center, across from the LA Fitness. Very easy to access & lots of parking.Im not opposed to going back for the black Viet coffee or maybe to try another tea out.
Jasmine milk tea with Aloe was very refreshing. Convient to order thru app and pickup at their outdoor window. Customer service was great :) thank you.
The staffs here are really wonderful. They do their job from their hearts, I can tell. They greet you the moment you walk in. They ask questions to make sure you get what you like. They work fast. They dont hesitate to answer your questions and treat you well. This is a great place to visit. I wish many more people would know this place.
Covid update:They have a new pickup window so you don’t have to open the door anymore! It makes it soo much easier to grab your order and go without minimal contact. There’s a buzzer to get the workers’ attention but they usually go to the window if they see you out there.Get the Tastes Mobile app! Literally the easiest way to order! It can save your card info so you don’t have to re-enter it every time which is so useful when you’re in a pinch or just lazy! Plus the app automatically tracks your reward points which you can use to redeem various rewards such as $2.50 off, free fries, etc. The reward depends on how many points you’ve earned. At the start of lockdown- orders used to take 30+ min for it to be ready but I think they’re a lot better now. Always true to the 15 min estimated time that it states even with the snacks that we order.Always super friendly staff.Drinks are consistentFav Go-To drinks- gotta be that Peach Me Sweet Tea! I also like to add jackfruitYou can sub the black tea default to green teaHoney boba is chewy and a fun green color!25% is where it’s at!LOVE the fresh fruit pieces they add -not many other places do it like they do*My sister loved the Tootea Frutea but it’s not an option on the app which is a bummer.Snacks: The shrimp USED to be the bomb but I think they’ve switched the recipe. Both the fries and shrimp are dunked in so much batter/spice. It’s a bit off putting. Make sure they pack your sauces before you leave!Opens at 11am and continue to do your shopping on Main St
Fast friendly service. 👍
Drove 15 minutes to store for drinks. Was in a rush and when I got home, I realized there was NO BOBA in the drink even though I had ordered it with honey boba. Good tea, very poorly organized
Services are great and drinks are delicious! I love how we can only order and pay online so their employees dont have to handle cash. Kudos!
Great flavor, even with the adjustment with of the sugar level. I got the bootea shaker with 25% sweetness and it was perfect for me. You can swap out the toppings if it comes with one for free which is great cause i dont like grass jelly and was able to swap for peach bits.Got the karate chicken, i got the mild but wild and i think the batter of the chicken has some spice cause i could taste a little kick. It was so good, just a bit on the salty side tho (didnt stop me from inhaling it like kirby tho).Plenty of parking, staff was helpful and friendly!
They made my wifes drink a little too strong. She was okay with it, but I told her to ask them to give her a little more milk to mild it down. They were very nice about it, gave her a small cup of milk and even apologized for not making it right the first time. Customer service attitude is greatly appreciated!
Great tea, terrible service. The employees treat you like they are doing you a favor, not a paying customer.
Order online first then pick up your drinks. They dont allow ordering physically I think.Their fruit teas are so nice no matter what you choose and their fruit toppings all taste fresh. Their boba is never hard so you dont need to worry about that.
They have a great system for ordering and pick up during Covid-19. I love that they call your name from inside and we wait outside to pick up. Ordering through their App is a breeze and we appreciate all the extras. I love that they have both Almond and Oatmilk as milk alternative options, as well as a variety of toppings, sweetness and sweeteners (yay for Stevia). Ive never seen that as an option before so I definitely tried light Stevia for my Thai Matcha. We werent prepared for the bright green Boba but makes sense because thats the Tastea coloring. (We have to be careful of food dye). Staff was great and friendly. E loved her Lightly Sweetened Thai Oatmilk with Honey Boba and Whipped Cream. So did grandpa.
Very good quality drinks, and friendly workers
Took them 30 minutes to give me two drinks. And the drinks werent even good.
Ordered online at a scheduled time and didn’t receive it till 40 min later. I ordered at 745 for an order ready at 8pm and it wasn’t ready for 840. they don’t know how to prioritize the queues and everyone else was called before us. We had a very small order also, just one drink and chicken. For the small order, it should have not taken that long.
Ive been coming for years. Great service and friendly employees. Drinks are always consistent. Not to mention, they take covid precautions seriously.
Really good tea a wide variety of flavors and sizes. Also coffee 😃. And really friendly, kind, attentive service. Thanks
Long wait and terrible service
Friendly staff, great service, always stop by when I’m in the area, just added drive through style window
Great fruit teas, great service, great owners.
Very slow. Order was wrong the three times I visited.
Fresh drinks but slow service even when ordering 45 minutes ahead of time, still had to wait 30 minutes and order still wasn’t ready!
Slow service even when ordering through the app or website 45 minutes ahead of time. Still had to wait an additional 30 minutes
The drink always hits the spot 🤤
Great place to get tea.
So so.... It was really good when it first opened but less and less as time goes on. Tried one more time...... But took over 15min to get our order...And people who ordered after us got their drinks already. I asked why and the server on shrugged and walked away.... Drinks are good. Service not so much.
As a former loyal customer of Tastea Alhambra, it saddens me to have to write this review, especially during the difficult times of COVID-19 when restaurants need the support of local patrons. However, my customer service experience today was so horrible that I feel compelled to let management know this is NOT OKAY. Tastea as a chain has lost a loyal customer today, as I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.On May 3, 2020 at 5:10pm, I made several attempts to place an online order on the Tastea website to try and support one of my favorite local tea spots. I kept getting an error message that the website was unable to accept online orders due to high volume. I decided to walk the 15 minutes over from my house to try to order in person. When I arrived, there were two other people outside the store waiting for their order. The store had placed red tape on the ground to facilitate physical distancing, however, it was not clear AT ALL where the line started or ended. I approached the table to place my order. At the same time, the supervisor on duty brought one of the waiting customers her order. The supervisor then very rudely barked at me to stand behind the red line. There were six different red lines - again not clear at all where to stand. This Tastea never really impressed me with their customer service even pre-COVID, but I let it go because I enjoy their drinks. After the other customer grabbed her order, I approached the table again and explained to the supervisor that I could not place my order online. She said that I had to keep refreshing the page every 5 minutes until it goes through because the store cannot accept cash or credit. I explained that Ive been trying for the last 20 minutes from the time I left my house. She just shrugged and said Sorry, theres nothing I can do in the most blase/indifferent tone possible. I understand this is probably a mandate from corporate, which is not necessarily her fault, but...First of all, restaurants should not be making it HARDER for customers to support them. If youre going to require that customers order online in advance and not give stores the ability to take orders over the phone or in person, then you need to have a better back up plan when the website is down than asking customers to refresh every 5 minutes as they are standing in front of your store. There are dozens of other boba shops in Alhambra alone; no one is going to do that. There is plenty of technology out there for contactless payment; get with the times!Second, even if corporate is not setting up the store for success, the store employees (especially one with SUPERVISOR written on her name tag) need to be better trained to not speak to customers in such a rude way. I understand they are working in a stressful environment, but it doesnt give them license to be hostile to customers. We are still paying customers (some of us going OUT OF OUR WAY to support local businesses like yours) and should be treated with basic kindness and respect. When I was a manager in hospitality a long time ago, at times our servers would go down too. Instead of throwing our hands in the air and disappointing our customers, we would give out Please come again vouchers for 10% off their next visit as a way of showing our appreciation for their patronage. Even without the discount, at the very least, a sincere apology is in order.Final note to management and corporate: get on grip on your customer service if you want to stay in business.
One of the best thai teas I have ever had. Great service
The milk tea and fruity blended drinks are really good, and their fries are great for sharing and have a great tasting seasoning!!
Drinks tastes good. Reasonable prices.
Its OK!
Taste is awsome. The staff who work there are always friendly. The drinks are delicious and love the karate chicken and fries;) I love the strawberry bonanza ;)
These guys are suppose to be open until 9 and we got there at 8:30 and they do not take our order.
Got the Jasmin tea with milk and it was delicious, now at home when I make Jasmin tea I also add milk to it.
Boba fix! Esp that green boba! There isnt a drink that I dont like here and I tried most of them. The only thing I would probably suggest is 75% sweetness or less. Unless..... you have a sweet tooth like me and do 100%!!!
Lots of boba shops in the area, but I usually like coming to this one. The drinks are consistent. I got a gumm yummy, which is a mix of orange, passion fruit and peach. It is a smoothie. It is very good and has chunks of peaches. The pipcorn chicken is always made to order and the seasoning for it is always good. I eat it with the weak sauce, which is sweet chili sauce.
Love this place. This location is new. Clean snd friendly staff. I would recommend the Oh La La and thr Peach Me Sweet Tea. On busy days parking might be an issue.
Pros:+Drinks taste great+Staff is friendly, and they will fix your drinks if it doesnt taste right.Con:The place is nearly always full.
I will drive an hour to get my ooo lala
