We have been to Gold and Jewelry Direct quite a few times. Each time we received excellent and friendly service. We have sold gold and have purchased diamond stud earrings as well as had rings enlarged and had those tiny balls installed in them so the rings wont twist on the finger. I showed up not realizing an appt was necessary. The door was locked so I called because I the hours were advertised till 9pm. It was around 7 and the owner answered and quickly came to open the door for me.I told him what I was looking for and he brought it out for me to look at. I was able to find exactly what I wanted for my son fairy quickly. Then I described what I wanted for my husband. He went to the back and brought out this beautiful rope chain. It was a custom piece that in the end could not be paid for. It only took me a few minutes to know what a great deal he was offering me. He really has some beautiful and quality pieces.I wound up being there a lot longer than I planned on. Simply because I had exceeded my debit limit for the day and had to do some creative card juggling to pay. But he was so patient. We chatted for like 20 mins and he gave me a coupon toward future purchases. I highly recommend this place! If you are not looking to get ripped off this is the place to go. I always like to support my local business as opposed to a large chain where you will definitely be over charged.I do recommend making an appointment! Its nice to be the only person in the store and get his undivided attention. If Im in the market for any jewelry I will definitely be looking here first!

I really wouldn’t recommend this place based off of my experience here. Before I get into the review, I will say this, I am so happy that I went and had an amazing experience at another jewelry store the day before, because if I would have gone to this store first that would have ruined my opinion of jewelry stores! My boyfriend and I were interested in looking at their options for engagement rings. We received a recommendation from a family member to check out this jeweler because they had heard great things about this shop, so we were looking forward to it! When we walked in, the older gentleman, now learning that it was Albert from other reviews, didn’t even introduce himself or ask us our names. He didn’t even try to get to know us and didn’t even ask what I was looking for or what styles I liked. He immediately went into showing us diamonds versus showing us rings. He was very rude and condescending to his assistant in ordering him around. He started showing us different rings and I made comments here and there about thinking a part on this ring was pretty and a part on another one was pretty. Albert took that as those were the two rings that I wanted to decide between because they were “within budget,” which we never even told him our budget. While he ordered his assistant to get quotes on the two rings for us, my boyfriend had brought two rings that had diamonds from his mother’s and grandmother’s rings with to see what can be done with the diamonds. Albert was very dismissive of using the diamonds for the ring and suggested using them in a wedding band even after us expressing the importance of using the diamonds in the engagement ring. He said the quality of diamonds that he sells would be better for the rings that I was looking at. The assistant brought out the quotes and Albert immediately dismissed the one of the two that I actually liked more than the other because it was “out of budget,” which once again he didn’t know our budget. And the setting was only $630, and he estimated the entire ring, taxes included, to be $5300!!! How does that even happen?! He was showing us 1 carat and 1.22 carat diamonds the entire time. Everywhere I’ve researched, a 1 carat Diamond is approximately $2500 depending on the quality and clarity of the Diamond. As soon as he said how much and also everything else we experienced, I signaled to my boyfriend that it was time to go. We made up an excuse to leave and at that point Albert rudely made the comment that he can’t hold these diamonds and rings for too long because they are high quality and will be sold fast. We practically sped walked out of there to get back to our car. To put it into perspective, our appointment started at 11, and we were back in the car by 11:15!! At my other appointment the day before we were there for TWO HOURS. Today, the day after the appointment, my boyfriend has been getting bombarded with texts and phone calls from Albert trying to make the sale which is not okay. I really hope other people have better experiences than we did, because I’m confident in saying we will not be purchasing anything from this establishment.

I love my jewelry and like most people wear it until it needs repair, then it sits in the jewelry box not being used. I had a few pieces that needed work... rings and a bracelet. I also had a diamond and tanzanite I wanted mounted for pendants, they custom made the diamond pendant and Im delighted with the tanzanite pendant as well. The rings needed new stones and they were reworked and now are beautiful. All of the work I have had done has been repaired or re-worked within a week and Albert has very reasonable prices. I also purchased a beautiful locket pendant from his large selection of jewelry, now the task is to find some earrings to go with it! Needless to say, I will definitely be back!

Had the 14 K yellow gold setting on a 7.5 CWT ruby replaced. I Couldnt be happier! The ruby in its new setting is stunningly awesome. The quoted price was extremely reasonable. Albert mentioned to me that they bought scrap gold so I took a few rings without stones in expecting to receive very little....what a shocker. He gave me enough for my scrap that I ended up paying only 37% of the quoted price for the replacement setting. I decided to take a longer drive to Algonquin than to much closer places after calling and hearing that I could get much closer to the silver spot price here than other places. Ended up getting $.39 more per ounce (I was selling some bullion) than anywhere else. I would most definitely return.

Amazing service. I brought in an heirloom ring for resizing and appraisal. The ring was ready in just a few days and looks gorgeous, all sparkly. The appraisal was far more detailed and accurate than one I had obtained from another jeweler last year. This is a family business, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I brought my Engagement Ring into Gold and Jewelry Direct to have it serviced because I read all these wonderful reviews about this place but I have no idea how all these people could have good experiences like there claiming because this place is Horrible! After I picked my ring up from the Owner Albert I noticed my center Diamond looked a lot different than it normally does so I brought it back there and they said this is your diamond but after I went to another Jeweler he looked at my GIA report and told me this is not the same Diamond as on the report. Now I will be filing a lawsuit against this establishment. Stay away!!!!!!!!!

I drove a long distance to trade in some American silver Eagles and even though some had a little markings and stuff on the coins and Albert gave me what he said even with some coins having some marks on them, excellent place to buy and sell silver gold and any types of jewelry.
