My wife and I have been looking for an outdoor set for our outdoor space for a bit. We dropped into The Great Escape and Spoke to Dan who was very nice and easy to talk to.We told him what we we’re looking for and our time frame. We purchased a sweet sectional couch, fire pit and Wells Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, they couldn’t deliver on time for this one due to backlogged stuff on the couch. We did get the jacuzzi fast!So Dan had us come back in and checkout inventory, and they delivered the couch, fire pit, and swivel chairs we liked within a few days right before our party on 9/4/21.Thank you Dan A. For all your help and guidance. Your delivery guys were awesome too!!I highly recommend and we will be going back in the future for table, chairs, stool chairs for our outdoor bar etc.
Our family has been doing business with Great Escape for almost 20 years. We have always been treated with respect and received extraordinary customer service. The staff is very courteous and always take the time to answer any questions you might have in regards to their products. There is no sales pressure. They provide you the information needed for you to make informed decision.
First time pool buyers, we went in and Barry helped us immediately (but he wasn’t stalking us-lol). We told him what we were looking for and he showed us exactly what we wanted. He told us about the deals they had going on and the financing, everything was so easy and actually fun. We’ve been wanting to get a pool forever but no one ever took the time to actually show us the difference between the packages. He explained and showed everything we were getting as part of our package. We are so happy with our experience with Barry and The Great Escape! Can’t wait for spring and the install of our new 2022 pool!

We purchased an outdoor patio set by Hannamint in May which, due to all the supply chain issues this year, didn’t arrive until July. But The Great Escape let us pick up parts of the order as they arrived. After only a month of using them, one cushion developed a rip in the zipper. We brought it to them, snd they cheerfully gave us a new one. We have been very happy with their product choices and service.

Tony H is the absolute best. It took us a long time to make our final decision and he was so patient and answered our never ending questions. I felt like we were in the best hands for our purchase. Some sales guys would lie through their teeth to make a sale. We looked through several pieces where the salesperson kept saying that the product was either out of stock or delivery will be towards the end of June. After a while he pointed out there was a set that was available for delivery on 5/25/2021. We immediately put the down payment and eagerly looked forward to the delivery tomorrow.Having received no call from the salesman who incidentally happens to be the manager Dan, we called the store only to be told that he had made a mistake with the date and that he had called us and left a message. This is an utter lie. We did not receive any call and are sure that this is Great Escapes underhanded, cheap, sneaky way to secure a sale. We were wondering why this location on Randal Road had a two star rating. With managers like Dan, Im surprised they are even getting this rating. If there was a negative rating, I would definitely give it.Businesses cannot afford such cheap tactics, especially during a pandemic when people are extremely conservative about splurging on items such as patio furniture. Besides, there are excellent stores on Randal offering exceptional service. I wouldnt be surprised if this place shuts down within a year.
I always have a wonderful experience whenever I visit the Algonquin Great Escape. The staff is very helpful and courteous.
It was a very easy experience to get our questions answered. Barry was always available to answer any of our questions or concerns and he walked us through the process. We also liked that the availability of a pool was a lot sooner then some neighboring stores. After doing some research online and other stores, we were able to come back to the Great Escape and get the pool ordered and a plan in place for delivery this summer. Looking forward if it all goes well to be adding a hot tub!
We’ve made a couple purchases over the years and now a new pool. We have always been happy with the service we receive. The show room is always clean, staff has always been great and knowledgeable, they are never pushy or trying to up sell products. Definitely will be back again to add a new hot tub in the future...
Love the hot tub. Know it was not TGE fault for the delay. Thought the communication on the length of the delay could have been better as it was 4 months past what we were told it would be. The delivery company we were told sat on the tub for close to 3 weeks and took numerous calls to track them down to schedule the delivery. The tub leaked after delivery and the crew came out the next day and fixed it which was great.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We bought a pool from Great Escape. Basically all Great Escape is good for is the SALE. No information given other than a referred contractor to set up the pool. SO MUCH MORE that we didnt know. We asked for help. We were told to watch a tutorial or app online. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Bought our hottub from Arvidson. They came out and showed us everything...how to clean and care, etc. EXTREME DISCONNECT following the SALE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING HERE.
Through the entire experience of buying a pool and heater, I have been amazed at the knowledge and support I was given. I never felt like I was pressured to buy the best of all supplies. Each salesman, gave me the pros and cons and made it seem like all possibilities are right answers.We know we may save a little here and there to bargain shop. But the trust that has been built is more important!

Horrible, liner leaked out two days worth of water and no compensation were given. Waited over 4 months for a product that was damaged. The first install was extremely rude. When called to switch liner no other product was available the sales man did nothing to help provide us or search for a new product. Worse experience ever.

Huge selection of outdoor furniture and pools. Very friendly staff. Clean store conveniently located right off of Randall Road. They were having a 50% sale when I was there, but wow, is most of their selection pretty pricey (hence the one star ding). Do they really sell that stuff for 100% the cost on the tag? We dealt with Barry, who was VERY knowledgeable, patient, and also very helpful overall.

Dan was the salesman and lied about an adapter piece I would need for the pump he said it was something that should have been covered with the permit for where I live but where I live I dont either permit for old Construction didnt make sense that I have to buy a $18 piece to adapt to my houses regulation code I feel like he just wanted to make the sale instead of telling me upfront I would need all this equipment

TLDR: They have wasted my entire Saturday. I have been waiting for a couch since 9am, that they are now saying won’t be here until 6:30. They confirmed the time via phone 2 days prior.Bought a couch. We were told on the phone it would be here between 9am and 1pm. My partner called around 12:45 to make sure everything was okay. They told us yep, any time now. I called at 2:00pm to see if they had any idea of what was going on. Dan, the manager, told me he would email the team and get back to me. And now, that we have wasted half of our day waiting for a couch, they are saying that our delivery time was 2:30-6:30, and always has been. They called Thursday to confirm the 9-1 delivery. But apparently there is an email, somewhere in the aether with the 2:30-6:30 delivery time. I don’t have it. My partner doesn’t have it. I am beyond exhausted and frustrated, and all the store has to say is “I don’t know what you want me to say”. Anyway, if you want to have any sort of Saturday, I don’t recommend buying anything that needs to be delivered from here.
Our sales man Barry was very eager to sell us a 10k pool. We purchased it and waited 4 months to have it installed. It was re scheduled 3 times by him. They came to install it and the installers did not hook up the pump or heater as we had paid to get done. We asked them to do it and said for $350.00 cash more they would. That was not part of the deal but we paid it and they said they were all done. Upon getting the pool filled by a water company the hoses to the pump all fellOff as they never clamped them even though the clamps were there. This caused us to spill over 1000 gallons of water that were had purchase. Had to re clamp all hoses and put all clamps on ourselves and call water company to come back and refill. Called Barry 6 times finally called back and stated I dont know what to tell you. That was his answer to us spending more money that agreed on and not doing the job correctly. I cant believe all the money we have spent there and there is a huge lack of customer service, call back and follow up. Will never go back and will make sure we tell anyone asking about our horrible experience with the great escape store

Ive been to Great Escape many times over the past 4 years to serve my above ground pool needs. I bought a pump and sand filter 2 years ago and this season it started making a horrible noise. I checked my warranty and it ended 4~ days ago.I called up Great Escape after trying to work with the manufacturer directly and they were extremely helpful. I brought my pump back and it was replaced with no hassle, during a pandemic, and knowing theyre already extremely busy this season.But wait, theres more.They also rotated my replacement pool pump so it would be setup for my sand filter. That probably saved me an hour of trying to figure it out at home!Thank you for taking care of your customers!

Great pool service - I have a very old above ground pool. The pump went and I had no idea what to do. I called local pool service places and they were no help. I called Great Escape and they were easily able to find a new pool pump for me. They also recommended an excellent pool service worker, Jody Ott who came out and replaced the pool pump quickly and well. This was a wonderful experience.

Very disappointed with the poor customer service. I ordered theater seats that took 5 months to receive. I constantly had to reach out to Brian to get an update. When someone picks up and says, Ill give him the message, most of the time I never received a call. Once I finally received my theater seats, one chair came with a wrong color (silver) tray when the rest came with black. I contacted Brian again and assured me that he would contact the manufacturer and take care of it. Well, two weeks later, not a call or follow-up. I again had to call Great Escape for an update. NEVER buy from here. There is plenty of competition and better service.
My pretty new 2-year-old pool completely fell apart after a bad storm in late February, while all the other pools around us remained perfectly intact. They will not back up their product and admit to the faulty installation - the uprights were not clipped into the base of the pool. We did also have issues prior to this storm - the top rails kept lifting and the stabilizer bars and coping would fall down into the pool. I tried working with them for about 1.5 months and got nowhere, and am now stuck with fixing this mess. Do NOT buy a pool from The Great Escape! After they get their money, they just simply do not care about you.
A few weeks ago purchased an exercise bike and the purchase was excellent. Tony H. was really helpful and very knowledgeable to help us choose the right equipment. Delivery was also exceptional and the two delivery men also assembled the bike and respected our home by removing their shoes without asking. A flawless purchase and we would not hesitate to purchase from the Algonquin store again.

We just received our Palliser media room seating and love it.....exactly what we were looking for. Dan and the Great Escape were great to work with and always responded quickly to any emails or phone calls. We also ordered Amisco counter stools.... perfect in our kitchen. We will definitely be back when we are ready for patio furniture!
The staff at the store was extremely helpful, but the third party that they use for delivery is horrible. They do not care, give you attitude when you ask a question and left without assembling everything. They did not leave instruction manuals so we could even finish assembling the items ourselves. They do not keep their promised delivery windows. Just a horrible experience, which is unfortunate because we really liked the staff at the store.

Dont buy a hot tub from Great Escape, especially a Jucuzzi brand. Ours is 5 months old and developed a leak. The contracted service tech came out the next day and said he couldnt fix it. He would return to the shop a write a RMA (Return Material Authorization). After 10 days Jacuzzi Corporate denied the replacement and said it could be fixed ( without them actually looking at it). Now, I have been getting nothing but the run around. People dont return their voicemails.Terrible Sales, Service, and Product Reliability.

Unfriendly staff unless you have big bucks and plan on spending it that day. Moved into our new home and it has an inground pool. We went to the Great Escape to see what chemicals we needed and found they do have a good selection if you know what you are looking for. They seemed to have more for above ground pools and when we asked a simple question were surprised to find out that they didnt seem to want to sell us anything.
I have never had a problem with the merchandise, or the pool cleaning/winterizing kits. The people on the floor have always been helpful if they are available. The problem with most pool stores is the customers! I am guilty as well. If you go on a holiday like Memorial Day, you are going to walk into a busy store. If you go in on Labor day? Same thing. We are all going to winterize, get winter covers.... etc. If you dont want to wait, buy online. Have it shipped to you for free.

I bought a patio set for $3500.00 just about 3 years ago. Two of the chairs have broken and the bottom rung of the table sheered off. When I called for replacement parts they said they dont have them and neither does the manufacturer. So disappointed with the quality of the product for the price! This should have lasted way more than 3 years!

I had a very positive experience at this store. I had a delivery issue on my pool order and the manager worked hard and put alot of thought into resoving my issue. When issues happen that is when a business shows its true colors and it shouldnt be marked down because of it if it resolves the issue in a professional timely manner and comes up with a resolution that is beneficial for both parties and in my case it did. Five stars to the staff at this Great Escape location. Thank you for you help!!
They said they were out of chlorine on the first week of July... How is that even possible? Had to go to another store after getting our pool supplies from this location for some time now.
My parents were living in a house in Algonquin which they had an above ground pool and they changed the liner from great Escape and when they changed it great escape sold my dad the wrong liner just to make a sale,. and now I moved to that house and the liner was ripped because its the wrong size which I thought its normal and liners get ripped sometimes. But when I got a professional company to change the liner after purchasing a new one from great escape the company said this is the wrong liner and its too small,. I contacted great escape and spoke to the pool guy and told him you guys sold my dad and sold me the wrong size. First of all the respond the I got from them was very very unprofessional and with very bad attitude and they wouldnt take the brand new liner that I just got from them back ... so I really think that they are the worst company to deal with and customer service is extremely unprofessional and rude. I would never ever go back there again and I would never ever recommended them to anybody I know ...
I purchased 2 pools and a playset from great escape. Like other reviewers stated, pool installation IS NOT free. There are all sorts of additional charges and since the installations are contracted out to various contractors, you have no way to get issues resolved when there are problems following the nstallation. One of the pools I purchased leaked from day one. Within one month the entire pool would lose its water within days. After many complaints I was informed that leaks were only covered if itwas a seam leak. Well...since there were no apparent holes in the liner...I stated it must be a seam leak. It is now MY problem to figure out where the seam leak is. I am not an installation nor pool liner expert. (I have owned pools for the past 25+ years and NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A POOL). The only option I received was to purchase another NEW liner and pay for installation myself. The installers also left a BIG MESS and did not clean up their garbage when they left.
You will get outdoor furniture here along with living room sofas and barstools. But we were there for dining table and could not get any there. Plus I feel the price is generally on the steeper side
Terrible experience, not sure why I ever went back. Patio table cracked from day one and it took 9 months to get a replacement. On arrival, that one was cracked. Had to go through a long process w corporate to get a credit but the store didnt know how to pull it up.Customer service does not answer the phone nor do they return voicemails. They even call from a blocked number, if they call...Pool table installed but not leveled correctly. They charged me 1/2 price to level it when it should have been done correctly the first timePatio suspension springs stretched so bad that your but almost hit the ground, bad quality. After 8 weeks, i finally got a replacementPromised deliveries are changed the day before.Take your business to Viking or anybody else

After buying a pool, lots of pool supplies and a patio set over the last year -- I am now receiving bad customer service from the store associates and the manager, Barry. Very curt and unhelpful overall. They were much nicer when I was buying and paying for the products. When it comes time to delivery or customer service after the fact, they are falling way short.

This place only cares about you if your spending big money. If your standing by the pointer tables and chairs, or pool tables, hot tubs etc... They will seem like they care but, thats only during the sale. Once the sale is done so are you, meaning they dont care about you anymore. The manager Barry is the most smug, arrogant, ignorant person Ive ever met. Cant wait until they finally close their doors and a real pool company enters..

This place is a complete joke. I order a bar and the deliver crew broke my bar when they put it together. I called the store to have it replaced and they gave me a date as to when my bar will delivered to my house, as that day came and I took off work because someone has to be there, I never received a phone call as to when its going to be delivered. I called the store 4 times asking about my delivery time and each time i was given a different story as to where my stuff is at. The 4th time I called, the manager tells me that everyone is gone for the day and that I need to call back on Monday morning because no one is in the service office on Sundays. Well here it is Monday, I called and they still dont have a answer about my product. This is bad business, no wonder why there is never any cars in their parking lot and no one shopping at their store. I would have never thought I would have gotten Bsd around at a corporate store.

Purchased a pool beware there are alot of extra costs. the installation is not free Quote from the pool installer, You need to read the fine print. That was 348.00 and we were replacing our pool, so I can just imagine how much, for a new pool. Then they took the liner out of the box, it was the wrong one. But since they took it out of the box they would not refund our $. The salesman said I dont make upsale mistakes, we couldnt return the old one, which was a cheap one. Had to buy a new liner at full cost. AND had to pay the installers an extra 100.00, for waiting for the actual liner we wanted (salesman and i were standing next to the pool in the store, when I said I want that one). Very unhappy with Great Escape sale, and I have been a customer for 34 years.
