This place is such a treasure in the heart of Old Town Alexandria! I cant wait to come back often. Amazing... just amazing food. AND coffee! The coffee was so good. And the atmosphere was perfectly balanced between elegant and casual enough for a walk-in date. The staff were friendly and helpful! Best of all its affordable! I cant say enough positive things. Great place to stop by for coffee, pastries, breakfast, brunch, whatever. Very cute.
This place is a gem! We had brunch and were surprised by the variety of options they had. I am intrigued by their coffee selection. You can make your own blend! Im sure Ill complicate it and blend too many varieties. I hope the come up with some recommended blends so we can try an expert recipe! We had a crab omelet and some waffles. Both were delicious!Ill be back to try their other dishes!
Looks like it might be just a dessert place but has lots of good food. We had the spinach artichoke dip with vegetable chips (which are a puffed white thing)- delicious! I had the French onion soup also wonderful! For dessert I had the chocolate temptation. Everything was so good we went back next day for lunch.
Java Grill offers delicious food and friendly service. The quality of the food and its presentation cant be beat, especially for the reasonable price. If you want good food on King St come here!
I come in here every other day and everything is outstanding.Rolled ice cream is great. The coffee is great. Cappuccinos too.The all day breakfast is awesome. If youre walking by they have free samples. Snag one of the cupcakes... you wont regret it.Service is absolutely top notch. They want the business and it shows.Great people and worth every penny.
Really nice little restaurant. Excellent rolled ice cream choices, very friendly staff. I was very pleasantly surprised by our experience there - me and my in-laws came in with a group of 5 kids. The staff was excellent even in this challenging situation. Highly recommended!
I went to Java Grill for an early Sunday morning breakfast. The atmosphere was quiet and calm, and the employees were friendly and helpful! The French toast was amazing and the cappuccino was very traditional. There are tons of pastries to choose from if youre looking for lighter fare. It was a perfect cafe experience, and one of the few places in Old Town open early on Sundays. Highly recommended!
Food was great but service was very poor on two different occasions. One was a busy day the other wasnt. Im thinking this must be a new restaurant that is still working out the kinks in some of their processes. Will give them one more chance.
I had the spinach and goat cheese quiche. It came with a nice mixed-greens salad. It was wonderful and I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely go again. Oh, my side of bacon was cooked to perfection- I didn’t even have ask for crispy bacon!
Found this place and couldn’t have been happier. Clean, good staff and the quiche was amazing; so buttery and smooth. Would love to come back!
Great food, great staff. Keep a look out for this place as it looks like its just a bakery but its so much more. Kurt the owner couldnt have been more helpful.
Lovely, super friendly staff, and we loved the idea of a coffee bar but our coffees were unfortunately so weak they were undrinkable. We took them to go and were down the street by the time we tried them, or we would have asked them to be remade. Disappointing.
Fantastic option! The food is good and the pastries are AMAZING! More importantly, the staff are incredible. My wife and I stumbled into Java Grill for the first time tonight and didn’t realize that they had closed 5 minutes prior. We began to leave when Ethan implored us to stay and took care of us even as the other servers were going home. We couldn’t have asked for better customer service. Definitely give Java Grill a try the next time you’re on King Street.
Recently started coming here since I got a new job in Old Town. Low key place that’s wholesome. Their coffee is great, pastries are great, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. My most memorable moment so far has been coming in my 2nd day and being remembered. That’s a level of showing family traits.
New place off of King St. One of the few places open for breakfast at 7 on the weekends. This is place also offers a myriad of options, dinning in or outside, pastries, gelato, and coffee.Staff is super friendly.
We went for brunch, steak was slightly overcooked, but had great flavor. Lavazza coffee was great, large cappuccino was soup size! We didnt try the coffee bar, but looked tasty.
This place was a great surprise. Excellent food and service.
If you havent taken a moment to stop by the new Java Cafe, youre missing out. It has become my first stop in the morning on my way into work. The service is always exceptional. Smiling faces to greet you from the second you enter the door. The smell of freshly ground coffee beens permeates the air. (Which by the way, is some of the best coffee Ive had recently.) I will personally recommend the Java Dutch Estate. I have not had the opportunity to have lunch here yet, (I cant stand it when local review guides give a place a mediocre rating based on one visit.) but anyway, the pastries are amazing and the service there is even better. Stop by and judge it for yourself.
Great place for kids Reggie is great Raymond the manager was fantastic. This is Alexandrias little gem. Stop in for breakfast lunch and dinner. Awesome experience for the whole family.
Delicious food, fresh and reasonably priced. Staff very attentive and pleasant.
So keep in mind this is a new restaurant and they are still in the soft opening phase of a restaurant. If you read reviews here that are negative and in the first half of 2019, take them with a grain of salt... Heres my review so far... These are the sweetest and most attentive owners and waitstaff of any restaurant Ive been to. They are super friendly. They have a really cool idea where you pick the whole beans from some barrels up front, they freshly grind them into your coffee. Super cool. They are still working to see what kind of menu and identity they want, and are actively seeking feedback. I had the shakshuka with eggs for breakfast and it was incredibly delicious. You could easily tell that whomever made that dish put love and time into it.The crepes and omelettes were good too. Just the right amount of crispyness on the outside without being dry on the inside. It looks like they will soon have some tasty bakery treats ready to be grabbed, and I bet they will be delicious.Give them a try when you arent rushed for a meal. (Im sure theyll get faster as time goes on)Give them a try if you want to grab a delicious pastry with a coffee. (Thats quick now)Give them a try if you want a good cup of coffee.Just remember they are getting started so be nice and provide feedback!
A lovely Saturday afternoon filled with wonderful staff who were kind and thoughtful. The treat display caught our attention and after enjoying our meal, we ended with a few treats; the cream puff swan, the Neapolitan pastry, and the chocolate lover gelato. The gelato was rolled and it was pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. Thanks!
Very friendly staff and very good coffee as well
Jared and ahtab thank u so much for the hospitality.......
Thankyou for the service.. Specially Ahtab ali & J Raheman for hospitality!Loved the service
My favorite coffee spot. Best Almond Croissants.
The service was poor however to be fair There Were Ten of us unannounced but the food was excellent and far far far made up for the delay in getting serve its well worth going to and I would advise giving them advance notice with large parties
